I get Dermalogica facials elsewhere every 6-8 weeks but I had a WaySpa gift certificate and I figured I'd try Hand and Stone because they use Dermalogica. I went to H&S for my first time ever yesterday and I chose (with the guidence of Dee) to have the Detox Facial due to the fact that I suffer from hereditary acne and a ton of scarring as a result.The facial itself was AMAZING and left my skin looking and feeling so good! Dee was very knowledgeable in the products she was using and about skin in general which made me very comfortable in trusting her with my sensitive skin. At the end of my service, Dee suggested this amazing serum that did wonders for calming my redness, I regret not buying it. Looking back on my experience the only thing I would have asked Dee to do differently was the pressure of the neck/shoulder massage. At the time the hard/firm pressure felt great but I woke up sore today and my shoulder/base of my neck on one side is inflamed. This is not normal from a facial massage. I know from my own expeience in this industry that esthiticians (for the most part) are not certified as RMTs and do not know the muscles the way an RMT would, the majority for the most part just memorize a 10 minute massage.. If I'm mistaken about Dee's training as an RMT I would love H&S to provide updates on their esthiticians training/educational backgrounds when they go in for treatments. But if I'm not I would highly suggest that clients and H&S esthiticians be mindful of the pressure so as to not cause any soreness or injury. My only other suggestion is that H&S upgrade their towels/face clothes as they seemed to be rough for a spa marketing as "Affordable Luxury". Dispite the two points above, I can see myself going back to this H&S location to see Dee for treatments.

Ive had to change my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. This place used to be amazing and you could get an appointment easily enough. Now you have to book a fair distance in advance.... its ok as its the practice of most places. My issue is the 50min massage time. Over the past year and a half the therapists i get start late and end early. Ive watched the time and for whatever reason i get a 40min massage (im always there early as well). My husband has noticed the same except with his current masseuse. My thoughts are we will be going elsewhere. I have to say the owner/supervisor Victoria (?) is the nicest woman ever. I love her quiet sweet gentle loving demeaner. Its so unusual to come across genuinely nice people like her. I havent mentioned the shortened time as i really dont want to be the client who complains....im sure other clients are aware of the shortened massage times.

This was my first time at Hand & Stone. I was able to get an appointment about a week in advance during the time that worked for me. The person I spoke with on the phone was friendly. She answered all of my questions. I was offered their introductory rate as a first time client ($70) for 50 minutes with a Registered Massage Therapist. One day before my appointment the spa called to confirm and remind me of my appointment. When I arrived I was welcomed. The space was clean. It does not give off a fancy “spa” experience but it is a good place to get a good massage. My therapist was very knowledgeable and accommodating to my needs. She reviewed all of my information before starting the therapy. She adjusted the pressure based on my needs. There was nice and relaxing music in the room. I was able to get a RMT Receipt after my visit. I would definitely go back for a good massage.

Meh. Sorry. Wanted to really like it here because it’s close to my house and they have great hours on the weekend. But my first impression wasn’t that great as the two receptionists seemed unprofessional when I arrived. I filled out my form, specifically stating a firm message, but my masseuse was so gentle it was crazy. Did he read the form? Waste of money. When I went to leave I was a bit out of it and relaxed at least, and the receptionist looked right at me and said ‘you look really ugly’. All the other clients in reception stared at me. She then said ‘not you, her’ and gestures to her colleague. Anyways, whatever, honest mistake but seemed unprofessional and I left feeling uncomfortable.

The RMTs here are amazing! If that’s all you care about you can stop reading now. What’s not good is how the front desk admin ask for tips. You have to verbally tell them how much you want to tip in a small waiting room that could be full of people. Apparently they have to type it into the computer instead of letting you use the point of sale terminal (like most businesses). Not only that, if they aren’t happy with your answer they ignore you and put on a sour expression. You’re a franchise. There are standards I would expect given that you are part of the Hand & Stone group. Respect your customer’s privacy and let them tip on the machine like everywhere else.

I really look forward to my monthly appointments at the Etobicoke Hand and Stone. When you enter, the receptionist sets the tone.....she is calm, professional and very welcoming. She remembers my name and offers me tea. I have a monthly massage with RMT Veronica who is superb. I can't say enough about her expertise and professionalism. I leave relaxed and all the aches are gone. Last week I had a facial which was also great. I have recommended the spa to friends and family and they have enjoyed their experience too. They also have an excellent range of quality skin products. All in all, it's a great spot.

I have been going to Hand & Stone Etobicoke for over 6 months now and absolutely love it. My friend at work told me about it and about the Wellness Program they have in place so I signed up after hearing her positive feedback and am hooked. I look forward to my monthly massages and am always happy with the services I receive. The reception staff are always kind and greet me by name, which I think is a great touch :). I've been to about 4 of the therapists and I was pleased with the service I received from each of them. Overall, it's great. I would definitely suggest you check it out!

What a joke of a Spa, initially I've booked an appointment with the Spa about 3 weeks ago, due to work I had to reschedule. I've done so twice. They scheduled my appointment for the 31 of December. Today upon calling them, the place was asking me for a credit card to be placed on file, and my appointment was cancelled. Not only did I have to wait for 2 weeks to get my next appointment but this ridiculous credit card on file policy is a little bit out of hand. No other spa does this type of procedure. I do not recommend anyone to use their service. Total waste of time.

The facial was decent, but asking for the tip was absolutely so embarrassing and so non professional... The guy from the front desk ran literally after me, in the street, to ask for the tip... I said that I don't have any cash with me and he replied that I could use the card instead!!! Absolutely very embarrassing and so annoying... People are not asked to leave tips when they go for massages, dentists, physiotherapy and so on... Poor management and very superficially trained employees, lack of mannerisms from the individuals who run the bussiness front desk...

I have been a regular at Hand & Stone for one year now and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I am always offered a water once I walk through the doors and either a water or tea once I have finished my appointment. I am signed up with their membership program which has many benefits. Magda has become my regular RMT and she is absolutely fantastic! Nicole has also helped me with skin care with her incredible amount of knowledge in Dermalogica and skin types. Highly recommend Hand & Stone on Bloor!!

Went to Hand and Stone for the first time and had their classic facial. I'm so upset. I paid $80 for them to ruin my face. I have marks the day after from the extractions and my face looks 100 times worse than it did before. I told the esthetician numerous times that the extractions were hurting me and she said it was 'normal.' Also, wasn't relaxing at all as she kept slapping products all over my face including my eyes. The woman at the front desk is very kind though and was extremely apologetic which is great but still doesn't fix my face.

Although it was difficult to get an appointment (they never seem to answer their phone), once I did and went for my facial, it was fantastic. Quiet, relaxing, no heavy handed sales pitches. Loved it and will go back. I tried to make another appointment while I was there to avoid all the telephone tag, but they don't book more than a month ahead. Funny note, they had misspelled my last name and couldn't find me in the computer. The girl kept asking if I had the spelling right. Yup, it's my name, pretty sure I know how to spell it.

I came back from vacation 2 weeks ago and came straight here after calling them to see if they had any availability that night (first timer). I got a facial from Ms. Forgot (lost the business card so idk her first name) but it was amazing !! She was very informative and told me what she was putting on my face and how it would help it. I was also quite burnt and she was gentle and patient! She also helped me when purchasing Dermatologica products for my face to get it back to normal. Thanks so much I will definitely be back.

What a professional facility! The receptionists are friendly, and the intake form was thoughtfully and professionally designed so you know you're in good hands with the questions that they ask. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, the RMT massage therapist (they only have Registered Massage Therapists there), and the service that was provided. I felt so relaxed after my massage, it felt like I just completed a one week's vacation! I would recommend Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa to anyone!!!

I’ve been to chains before but this was not at all enjoyable. Place was clean, front desk friendly. There was an introductory price so can’t complain too much. Don’t really notice any difference except a lighter pocket. I’ve updated as I come back for a second time, much better experience. I will request the same masseuse the next time. Reception staff still leave a lot to be desired. Gees ladies check the attitude it’s supposed to be a relaxing environment.

I had my first ever facial/massage at hand and stone and I walked out a new woman! I was treated with respect and kindness by everyone and I felt very safe to let myself be cared for by them. Special shout-out to Adam’s massage! He was super friendly and knowledgeable. Plus he took my fibromyalgia into account and adapted the massage to what my body needed. Overall a great experience! I’ve been going to this location every 2 weeks for almost 1.5 years now. I tried a few RMTs here at first (to accommodate my schedule) and they’re all professional and personable. But when I discovered Atsuko, that was it for me. She’s the only RMT I would book with ever since. She’s amazing and knows where I am sore without me having to explain. The front staff are also very friendly and sweet.

Went here with my girlfriend and we absolutely loved it! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by kind and knowledgeable staff. The service is great and the facility is clean. Desmond is an excellent massage therapist. You can tell that he has a lot of knowledge and experience behind the great treatment that he provides. I would recommend him to anyone. We will be booking again soon!

After a difficult couple of months and after missing my monthly appt in March, I had a visit with Patricia today....thank God! I went from feeling beyond uncomfortable, achy and overall unwell to feeling like the picture of perfect health after 1 hour. Thanks a MILLION, Patricia.....your RMT treatments and expertise are truly invaluable!

The esthetician was absolutely lovely, but it was the type of facial where they just put a lot of product on the client's face and that was really not my taste. I came home with a lot of blackheads and a pimple I had to pop myself. It was a lovely place and a lovely person but I wouldn't return for that type of facial

I received a gift card from my son for $150 and trying to redeem it is like pulling teeth. I have been here 3 times and they have done nothing. Whatever you do, do not get a gift unless you use it at the location where you bought it. They tell you you can use it anywhere but you can't. Would give it a zero if I could.

I have had two visits to Bloor Street H&S and both times were exceptional. The facial was the best I’ve had and the massages by Kin have been oh so good. I think he is a body whisperer as he knows exactly what my body needs, where to focus and relieve pain. He is truly exceptional. Highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend surprised me with a massage and facial by Victoria. Victoria took the time to understand my ultra sensitive skin and now has me using the Dermalogica line and my face is happier now. My massage was equally amazing. The staff here is so inviting and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!!!

I have visited many massage therapists in the past and nothing tops the treatment I received at Hand and Stone. It is a relaxing experience every time. The location itself is also very nice and relaxing, it feels like you are at a spa and not at a medical office. Staff is great. Definitely recommend.

Booked my appointment 1 week in advance and then they didnt bother calling me to cancel my appointment the day of. I wasted my time showing up for nothing and all the lady at the front counter had to says is "Sorry but not my problem". Terrible and very unprofessional run business.

Hand and Stone Etobicoke is great. I'm always welcomed, offered tea or water, and I'm always seen on time for my appointment. Ryan is a very good massage therapist. He listens to what's bothering me and adjusts the treatment accordingly. I feel great every time I leave.

My favourite massage place in Etobicoke (and I’ve been to a lot!). I highly recommend booking with Chloe. Professional, amazing at getting all of the knots out of my shoulders/neck from working from home over the last 7 months and a really relaxing experience overall.

This is the most frustrating location I have ever had to deal with. They are always fully booked, we have a monthly plan with them where they charge us every month yet there is NEVER any room. If you are injured dont bother with them they wont see you for 2 weeks.

As a returning member to the Member Program, I always experience services from staff who are top notch. From booking a service, to the welcoming greeting at reception, to experiencing a terrific massage - service is always prompt, polite and professional!

Great service at this location. I've only received massages here so I can speak to that. Staff is friendly and professional. Some of the staff can perform massages for athlete oriented customers like myself who want to work on specific muscle groups.

Was introduced to this place by my wife 4 years ago and I’ve been a loyal customer since. Every session is relaxing, deeply therapeutic and extremely professional. Can’t recommend this place enough. I’d book them for 12 hours straight if possible!

I personally like this location better as it has greater diversity in RMT practitioners. The RMT gave me an overall introduction of the type of pressure and type and let me choose what best fit for the overall pain i had. Great experience overall.

I went for a sports massage with James. James was extremely knowledgeable and skilled. His work really improve my foot, hip and back pain. I would absolutely go back for the same treatment. Front of house were also very nice!
