My son was just 2 years old with shoulder length hair when he first went to Lillian’s salon. I’ve never met Lillian and was too upset to see my baby boy have his first hair cut. His father said from the moment my son sat in the chair Lillian made him feel comfortable and at ease. Since that first visit 30 years ago I’ve been going to Lilian’s. Her cut, colour and blow dry are second to none ( the banter is good too ) Having such a special gift and talent makes your visit to the salon an experience everyone needs. Once her miraculous hands gets to work on your hair the transformation is the best. I would definitely recommend

Having lived in Northenden for many years, I have always had to leave the area to find a hairdresser who specialised in afro hair. Lillian at Hands on Hair has been the answer to my dilema. From the first initial greeting to her washing, treating, blowing and styling my hair the whole experience was amazing. I felt listened to and the consultation was really helpful as to how to treat my hair. I would highly recommend her services to others, not only for her professionalism but also her attention to detail. I can't thank her enough. I will certainly be returning.

Best salon I have ever been to! I have curly hair and have always been very reluctant to getting my hair cut as not a lot of hairdressers know how to handle curls. Cannot recommend this place enough! Not only was the service amazing, I had the best time there and I brought my mother with me which she was lovely enough to let us both in her salon and took the time out of her day to do a quick very needed cut on my mother’s curly hair as well. Lilian (Hands of Hair) has been looking after my hair for over 20 years now after being introduced by a friend when Lilian was a mobile hairdresser. My hair was in a bad way at the time, she provided help and advice. Following her move into a salon which provides a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and a few laughs. My hair has now gone from being extremely short to lengthy, strong, great looking hair. Thank you Lilian, I wouldn't go anyway else.

I couldn’t rate this salon more highly! With mixed race hair I am nervous about who handles it, but I was in excellent hands. Brilliant new style cut efficiently and beautifully, Lillian was warm, knowledgeable and put me at ease. Really appreciated the attention to time management. A close friend immediately asked for the salon’s name as soon as she saw my hair, so I must have looked amazingly better than usual! Really great value for money.

I haven't gotten my hair done in years and was very nervous. I Just got back from getting my roots relaxed blowdry and trimmed. She was fast and friendly and did an amazing job. She managed to get my hair feeling like silk which was a shock. The environment is clean, pretty, polished and professional. I will definitely become a regular. Great job. I would highly recommend.

Lilian is absolutely fantastic, she did me a full set of highlights and a cut at quite short notice as I was going on holiday. Brilliant stylist with some much knowledge on mixed race hair.. I won't be going anywhere else, an absolute gem in the heart of Northenden. The salon is lovely and clean and I cant praise Lilian enough. Highly recommended!!

Can’t recommend this salon highly enough. Had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Lilian made me feel comfortable and really took a lot of care and attention with my hair. She offered lots of fantastic advice and tips as well. Really pleased with the finished result and will absolutely be back for treatment’s and relaxiers in the future.

Lillian is a magician. She can work miracles. Always a beautiful transformation at the end. Lillian put braids in for me on 19/05/23. They look fantastic! She is great at what she does. Lilian was so accommodating and gave me the best perm I’ve had! She fit me in when I was running late which I really appreciated and she took care to ask what I wanted and to share guidance of how to look after my hair afterwards. I loved the service and would definitely recommend!

In 20+ years I have never once been dissatisfied with the quality of hairdressing that Lilian provides. She knows exactly what I want, even when I don’t!. I would not trust anyone else as I know it would not be up to Lilians’ standard.
