Came here on my bicycle, for the specific purpose of buying a bike lock. But when I brought my bike into the store, the jerks who work here were immediately on me, telling me I can't bring my bike inside. There is no sensible reason for this, there is plenty of room at the front of the store for my bike that would not be in the way or cause any problem. They want to create a problem where there shouldn't be one. Furthermore, even if I had a lock, there is no bike rack outside the store and no good place, at all, to lock up a bike, which makes the order to take leave it outside the store an especially cruel joke. I would hope they'd be a little reasonable and accommodating to a customer here to spend money, but clearly management of this particular Harbor Frieight has latent hostility against bicyclists for some reason and would prefer not to take our business. So I was standing outside the store with my bike writing this review instead of shopping in the store because I am not willing to leave my bike outside to be stolen in order to buy a lock for the bike, that would be crazy. While I was doing so the manager came out and told me if I'm buying a lock I can bring the bike inside as long as I go directly to the aisle with the locks and purchase one as quickly as possible and then get my bike out of the store. I told him i dont see what the big deal is, my bike was not in the way of anyone or anything. He said "this is where we keep merchandise" (though there was no merchandise anywhere near the wide open space against the store's front wall where I parked it,is so I don't know what he's talking about.) Then he said "if I let one person bring a bike in the store there will be 10 bikes parked here." Which is ridiculous, because besides myself there were no other people lining up with bicycles eager to bring them inside, at least not that I could ascertain. (As if that would be such an awful problem if it was true, God forbid you have 10 more people in your store buying stuff. Obviously he doesn't want us here at all, given the lack of outdoor facilities to lock them up either.) So I went directly to the aisle with the bike locks, as directed, and of course the lock was out of stock, and they don't sell it online either, only in stores, for added inconvenience. So I exited the store with no lock, and got more attitude from the manager on the way out for that, like it's my fault they don't have it in stock. He thought it was unreasonable that I didn't buy another cheap lock instead of the very secure one I came for, as if moeny is no object and I can just buy superfluous poor quality locks Willy nilly. I had plans to buy a lot more stuff in the store besides a lock, but the manager was such an unreasonable a-hole and I was not permitted any time or leeway to shop for anything else, because my bike was such a pressing problem parked there at the front of the store, disrupting business and creating chaos, and so urgently needed to be removed. They didn't need money anyway.
After working with multiple employees to get assistance for various items, we found that the employees working this shift were very incompetent and had no business working at this location without further extensive training. Unfortunately the receipt has the incorrect cashiers name, however the heavyset girl who was running the cashier was clearly not completely “there” and was acting as if she just came off break to smoke a joint or five. After attempting to locate my information in the system between five and 10 times she was unable to do so even though I had an email with proof showing that I was in the system. After she completed our transaction she noticed the flashlight I was holding which was supposed to be free with our purchase she had completely forgot to scan and had to start our order completely over and acted as if it was our fault. I’m highly recommend going to the store during the day and not the night shift, which is unfortunate because the majority of my experiences at Harbor freight have been five star experiences. It was once my favorite store and I now question that praise.
Did my bimonthly stop at harbor freight to pick up some feeler gauges and calipers. I was unable to find the feeler gauges down the automotive aisle. I made the mistake of asking "Alex" if he knew what aisle the feeler gauges were located, I had shown him the feeler gauges listed on the website via phone, which states are in stock. He responds with, "what does the website say?", I said automotive. I informed him that I had been down the aisle multiple times and didn't see it, he then told me "then we don't have them", I said the website says you have them in stock, he replies with, "the website is wrong". All this was said without him moving from his spot behind the register. The name tag said supervisor, I would expect more from a supervisor. Not sure if he didn't want to help or if he was too stoned to remember, he looked blitzed. Ended up paying $10 more at home Depot for the feeler gauges
If you're used to ace, Home Depot, or Lowe's, you'll be surprised by the prices, coupons, FREEBIES. I would highly recommend you do research on the item you're looking for. While prices are great, I know some stuff is no good, or feels too cheap. Their returns are no hassle and many of their tools have lifetime warranties, though. Good place to buy those little tools you know you might use once in a while. I like their headlamps when theyre at 10, their 9 and 5 mil nitrile gloves, free flash light and magnetic tool tray, some of their tie down straps as they seem to vary in quality, rechargable batteries, sharpening stone, rubberized work gloves. If anything it's worth a visit for the average person for just about any tool. With research, some pros can really benefit from low prices on some items.
Guy was very unpleasant to me on the phone when I asked about a specific type of product. He was impatient and treated me like I was dumb. He didn’t want to help and asked me to look an item up on their website site and call back. Instead of just doing the work himself like all the other store chains have done for me looking for this particular item. He then was rude and demeaning when I asked what their website was. Not going here or recommending this place after that phone call. My sincere suggestion: If you, as an employee, can’t handle jobs in places like this, please avoid working there and leave it to patient people who like customers to do those jobs, and please don’t treat anyone: men or women— like they are dumb. Your tone and willingness to work on a request do matter.
I never leave a review. But today I've had probably the most confusing experience ever. Went in on my lunch break in uniform and not 5 seconds from going in the door the two cashiers looked at me and said I can't be here I'm have to leave. Granted I'm in my work uniform. I thought they were joking so I went to the aisle that had the stuff I need. Not 30 seconds later the manager came up and said the same thing. I told her I've been here twice in total. You have me mistaken for someone else. Yet she just said I'm have to leave. GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION if you want to be treated like an actual human being.
This store was recommended by a friend who told me they have ceramic magnets. This was my first time in the store and the employees were very helpful. I use ceramic magnets to test gold and silver jewelry. The magnets are so super strong and phenomenally low priced compared to what I've been paying for from Rare Earth. Both are great, but Harbor Freight staff were great because they were easy to find and talk to. An employee walked me directly to the aisle and shelf the magnets are on. I bought two packages - one for myself and one for the friend who recommended Harbor Freight!
Love this place. You can shop online and order to be picked up at the location. Also has options for just about everything you could need to fix what's broken... Location is right in the heart of easy phoenix arcadia area. Some random people on foot next to a ranch market grocery store and one of the best Goodwill's in the valley. Be sure to print your coupon because if you have an email address sometimes your coupon is delayed... But I would not know this as I never shop here ... Just kidding. I have to get my fix in somehow and tell someone else your issue! XOXOXO
This place is absolutely the most disturbing and despicable hardware store I spent over $1500 in purchasing generators none of them work out of the Box return them on 3 different occasions within 3 days to do a simple transaction trade however when none of the additional generators were even able to work whatsoever I was charged $70 per generator to return which is absolutely absurd and ridiculous aplaces of rip off and nobody should chopped with them again Ace Hardware is a much better customer service experience
I was approached twice by other customers on product location and quality. I stuck around and seen both customers purchased items I recommended. No floor help for customers to approach. I couldnt find T45 bit but did pick up liquid wrench. At checkout one Cashier told other about missing $75 cash from register. I easily over heard this from my position at check out. Retail and CS are tough jobs at times, but cash issues shouldnt be what I heard most about from Harbor Freight employee during my visit.
Always friendly and helpful from my experiences. Have what im looking for about 95% of the time. I get the whole quality over price thing when it comes to tools, but if you're like me and only use them for basic car and home repairs like me then budget is the way to go in my opinion. I haven't had quality issues so far with the tools I bought from here and losing tools doesn't hurt my wallet much when they're affordable like here. Definitely my first stop for tools and such when I'm shopping
1st visit staff snickered and wouldn't look up product by name, 2nd visit Brent rudely said he never saw me before when I told him he never offered me the chance to save order under my phone number as required for refunds (in 2023 they can look up by cc). Never shopping here again and will tell 10 friends about this experience, or happily refund my extra buffing pad. Your call Harbor Freight. I will respond and edit this as service dictates.
Just had the worst customer service experience ever. Rude staff that feels bothered when you ask for help. And the young girl with braces and a tattoo on her hand that checked me out, made sure to go as slow as possible all the while talking to other staff and not acknowledge or thank the customer. At the end, I thanked her and she rudely walked away. She should not be helping customers ir even working in publicr. This store is garbage.
I live in Maricopa, so i went to the Tempe store to get a tool. When I got there, they were out. I asked the woman if they had anymore, but unfortunately, they didn't. (And she was NOT nice about it) She then told me that the store on 35th and Bethany had some, so i drove all the way there and nothing. The gentleman there told me she should have called to verify. Long story short, I drove over a hundred miles for nothing!
If you do not know Harbor Freight they sell a ton off generic and off brands tools and things. It is cheap stuff but sometimes the cheap stuff just works forever. This 5 stars is for the cashier Carl. And no he is not my friend . This guy just goes above and beyond at his job and is super friendly. And usually at these stores in Phoenix everyone helps you find stuff when you ask or just know exactly where to send you.
I came here at 5:00 pm to a closed store the worker said. The A/C broke is what he told me. There still here so now I have to wait until tomorrow to finish my job. It's always something with this store Thomas and 32nd st phx az.... My transaction would have taken 5 min .035 welding wire. I know we're it is so it would have taken even less time. Dissapointed is beyond me they were letting a person out when I got here.
They had the tool I wanted there the one on thirty fifth ave and bethany home were out but the one at glendale and 55 ave had 35 of the units overstock they need to hire a go for that drive product at overstock to stores that sell out of products quickly because that community is. All the workers that use those tools for thiere daily jobs see now I created a job I guess I'm the bad guy for being a boss of this world
When I lived in North Phoenix I have a harbor freight near me for about three years and then I had to leave to Central Phoenix. I absolutely hated driving all the way back up there just to get tools and parts with the sign went up that this place was open and I must’ve danced in the parking lot. Great Products great people great savings. Unfortunately I moved again but hopefully they’ll be one on the Westside soon
I can spend all day in Harbor freight tools and this one on 32nd Street & Thomas is a great one. But let me warn you it is very easy to get carried away there and spend too much time and money. I do every time I walk in. the quality of the tools is it always the best but if you have a problem take it back the Price Is Right and you can find anything you're looking for when it comes to tools
Harbor freight is what it is - a place to get a cheap tool you only plan on using once - which is...GREAT. Unfortunately 32nd and Thomas isn't the sort of neighborhood anyone wants to hang out in any longer. The Home Depot down the street isn't much better, but at least the line won't be full of people with the freebie coupon in their hands getting their broken LED flashlight.
The guys were NOT helpful at all! Very disappointing. I asked where an item was located in the store and he just pointed and walked away. Then he overcharged me and got argumentive with me about it. He shut his attitude down when I showed him the promotional advertisement paper they put out. Since I didn't get an apology, his embarrassment was enough. Wake up guys!
Clean with friendly and knowledgeable sales associates. Has variety of tools, gadgets, and whatnots probably something for the whole family. Descent pricing on most items. Bigger than a hardware store but smaller than a reg tool store covering handtools all the way up to auto needs plus covers a wide variety of professions for hand, power & specialty tools.
Called in advance for a clearance discontinued item. The person on the phone confirmed stock and held it for me. Which was awesome. As i live 45 minutes from the store. None of the stores on my side of town had any diesel compression tester kits left. I got there, the gentleman had it waiting for me. Great experience overall! Thanks again Harbor Freight!
Hard to find help in this store. One cashier had the credit card machine go down. He just kept trying to get it working while the line was backing up. He should have jumped to another register. Also they sold me the wrong lawn mower. I didn't notice until I got home. Checked the receipt and was charged for the one they I had. Not worth going back
Its my go to place. they are surprisingly helpful.they treat you like theyreally care. it will be the success of the company its what will take them places nothing else will. They have resolved every concern quickly and to my satisfaction. Ive been suprised every time i go how they go out of the way. The cashiers are awesome. I love the place.
Dan is the man! I was about to leave this store, and order my purchase on amazon because i couldn’t get anyone to help me. The cashiers were nice and greeted me. As i was about to leave the store, Dan asked if i needed help. He went above and beyond. He is the reason why i spent my money at this location. Thank you Dan. I appreciate you.
The manager was very helpful in the matter I needed addressed even though it took quite awhile to resolve. This was a personal matter with nothing to do with the products they sell. Most of the tools are a bargain for the price. Good quality for the price I paid. Where was Harbor Freight when I was building my tool collection?
I need sand paper for a Orbital sander. I ask the salesman which one that I needed. I was told that I needed the Hook and Loop Disc paper. I purchased it, got it home, and it was the wrong disc paper. It burns me up when you have a "Professional" sell you the wrong item. But, I will go back as the prices are terrific. J. Nelms
Sometimes the lines along which makes it frustrating but when Kelsey's there she always seems to jump on a register and take care of people as soon as she can. Today she was just circling the store cleaning up and making sure that everybody was recognized as a customer. That's good customer service and needs to be recognized.
The prices are questionable. I purchased an item (on sale) at the Thomas Rd location only to learn that it was much cheaper at Home Depot. The guy at the register was so rude when I told him the item was on sale. He got major attitude. I ended up taking the item back because I refuse to contribute to his paycheck.
Just had the most wonderful experience ever. Thanks to Brandy. Went in to return a battery charger that was underneath warranty. Time first worker at the register was not able to find it, but Brandy stepped in, showed him how to do it, and found my warranty. A+++ they both went above and beyond. Thank you again.
If you need limited use tools here's your place. They have good return policy. It's a simple equation, if you need tools for small projects get the cheapos. Daily use professional tools are expensive for tradesmen. So we avoid the natural pull from them. But harbor freight has introduced a higher quality tools.
Almost everything here is great quality for the price. The employees are generally chipper and knowledgeable. My only complaint is that the checkout lines can get pretty long, and holding a 6 ton press stationary for thirty minutes is a bit ridiculous, but if you arrive very early you don't ever have to wait.
I have always had good service from the employees here. Harbor Freight is a place where I like to buy a select few items, most of the things they sell are cheap junk, but there are a few things that are diamonds in the rough! Do a google search for what to buy at Harbor Freight and you will see what I mean.
I’m using the App to find Home Depot and this location keeps coming up. Honestly Cheap Chinese tools, some good, some not so good but currently overpriced for what you get. Now they are tagging themselves with Home Depot not sure what this means. Stop tagging Harbor Freight as a Home Depot in maps!
Certain smaller, cheaper tools and other items and accessories are a good buy here. But, my husband and I bought some solar lights for our yard and one was broken out of the package. All were cheaply made. We did not return in time to get a refund during the 90-day period unfortunately.
Excellent prices on tools. Not MAC or Snap-On quality, but they cost 1/4 or 1/10th the price of them. Cut out free coupons in the Sunday paper and you can get a little flashlight, a tarp, one pair of work gloves, 6 piece screwdriver set, or several other options for free! Great deal!
It's Harbor Freight, you know what you're getting. As for this location I like how well lit the inside is, and the width of the aisles. Been here for a sidewalk sale which always have someone available to help, during weekdays you're on your own to find items, but that retail today.
I love this place, it matters not if your a contractor, hobbyist or even an armageddon prepper! This place is just plain fun and a constructive way to blow your paycheck. The staff is always around and happy to help, if you need answers or a hand they'll make it happen for ya.
An inexpensive place for some decent tools. Be careful and keep your receipt. If it breaks soon aftrr purchase they will replace it or refund your money. Most of the tools are solid and service well. Some of the consumables like sanding belts and disk are good for short uses.
Great guys we're able to help me with my plumbing issue. They recommended I try pipe nipple extractor to get a broken off shower arm. They were out of stock so they checked which store had some and I was able to get it eventually. Thanks guys for all the help you're awesome
With the ever growing demand by homeowners to fix and upgrade special projects Harbor Freight tools may be perfect since they are relatively inexpensive, offering decent tools homeowners can afford for those dream projects or merely to have around their homes
It's harbor freight don't think it's where you can snap-on... it's a fine operation but you get what you pay for... keep that in mind it's a great and fun place to shop... they do have things you cannot get in other stores.... go and look for your self...
I wouldn't plan on building a skyscraper with their tools, but for my playtime they're fine. I mostly buy stuff with few moving parts and I've never been disappointed. First time in this store selection is better than the one closest to me. I'll be back.
Cashier was friendly and efficient, would have gotten all five stars. Manager was not very customer service oriented and didn't even take a second to explain the warranty issue, instead took off with my return item, warranty paperwork and the receipt!
I rarely give five stars to anybody, but the staff is really on point today. I got a lot of questions answered but I specifically needed to know about certain tools. And then I picked up a new tool that's going to end up doing the job perfectly.
Have made gotten some truly good values and never an issue. Easy and pleasant shopping. Being in business is partial indicator of quality, value and being an actual professional. You have many choices available and staff who will work with you.
Tried to return a $35.00 measuring tape that broke after using 5 times still looks and I’d new. Got told pretty much oh well sorry about that and left it at that. Don’t buy garbage from them that doesn’t last or deal with bad customer service
Sucked me in with the Black Friday coupons and purchased items not on special. Lol Gotta love it! Most items in store are backed up with a lifetime guarantee. So why complain. Don't care what brand the tool are as long as they do the job!
Great place for great prices. As a contractor it seems like purchasing tools never ends. It's nice to have a place to get a one time use or "throw away" tool. They have gotten some new suppliers and I'm seeing prices starting to climb.
A place was off the hook customer service rep was excellent got me to what I needed. It purchased good fries and left everybody wore masks everybody did the 6-foot courtesy thing which was great thank you I'll be back to Harbor Freight
What can I say. It is definitely a harbor freight and the prices are good. Lines move quick and I’ve never left here unhappy. They don’t have everything but the internet will tell you if they have what you need before you wander in.
The best budget tool store in the land. They have almost everything an enthusiastic craft/trade person might need to build or repair the space shuttle and more. Love this place! Highly recommended. They have something for everyone.
Decent tools etc. at great prices. Love their Thunderbolt alkaline batteries. I needed a screwdriver with a very long reach the other day. Sure enough they had 22" screwdrivers, one flat one philips, both for like $7!! Hallelujah!
The greatest tool store in. Phoenix what did we do before Harbor F.Sears Craftsman look please . Home Depot. Thanks for coming to town . I've learned as long as you take care of your harbor freight tools they will last you 4ever.
Good prices super great warranty they replaces my grinder 3 times in like 3 weeks staff is there and stuff is usually in stock unless someone has stolen it but other then that this place is great stop be for you go to HD or Lows
I love harbor freight and tools. They have really good prices on everything, that's why I shouldn't buy it at Walmart? Why should I buy it there when I can get a cheaper and the same product add harbor freight tools.
Reasonable prices, employees not to eager to help when I was looking for a tool. They pointed but didn't offer to help, since I really didn't know what I was looking for or to inform me whether this might do the job.
They just lost are business Very rude very rude a cashier asked if I spoke Spanish Nope continue to talk to me spanish So my sign language kicked in Read sign language batch And not the middle finger sign language
It was ok their stock numbers are way off it said they had 21 and didn't have a and the worker there said its like that on a lot of stuff. I gave it a 3 because of the service otherwise a 1 that's being nice
So far never a bad experience here staff is always cheerful very helpful" aside from the area. Although, not a bad area mind you. Just not a place u let your grandma go bopping around all by herself is all.
This is one of those stories walken out of spending too much money. Just dont have the will power to stick to the list....lol. Great store for just about everything a handyman could ever need and even more.
Very friendly and helpful staff not as big of a selection as Lowes or home depot but just as good of prices a good place fur tools butt if you need nuts bolts screws or nails you might want to go else where
A side from being close to my house the price is great and they seem to have everything I need to complete home projects. Some of the tools have life time warranty on them, and yes there still that cheap.
All tools are 50 to 60% off brand name stores but they carry brand name products. You can also order from the catalog to deliver to your home or store. It'll only take 2 days can you beat that.
I got this 500 Pound Hydraulic lift Cart At a great price using the 20% off coupon Also Found a Large mesh black tarp cover for my landscaping trailer Sometimes home depot just doesn't cut it
We've (my wife and I) bought four solar array's (so far) that we power our trailer with, from (as well as misc. tools) them. Their service was fantastic. And, we like the prices, as well.
How refreshing is to encounter great service in a 114F degrees day? Megan was so helpful. So kind and informative. Even finding the time to greet EVERYONE who walks in. Thank you Megan!
You know how people buy burner phones for a quick use then throw them away? Well buy some burner drill bits they may break quickly but you can get 3 for the same price as one from Lowes
A lot of tools and other things from low to high prices. It depends on what you are looking for and the quality you are willing to pay. There are good deals on a lot of quality items.
Harbor Freight has the toolbox I needed at a phenominal price. Their products may not always be the top quality, but they are definitely affordable. Take advantage of coupon freebies!
Another great place to shop. Quality stuff that's reasonably priced. Great tool selection. This place has everything you need for your home and more! Come check this place out! …
Harbor freight is amazing. Great place for affordable tools. If they break, it shows you what tools are worth buying something more quality. Otherwise they're amazing bang for buck.
I love harbor freight they have great tools cheap prices and I'm pretty sure I heard that all of their hand tools are lifetime guaranteed and you do not need a receipt pretty cool
Probably 90% of what they have is every bit as good as name brand. Pay attention and you can get some spectacular deals on tools and equipment that will last for years and years.
They got everything there a good place to go the workers are good the customer service is great the product is great and so will you when you get there have fun good luck be safe
Always helpful people. The store manager himself helped me out as i had forgotten my glasses. The tools are of decent quality for the price. The customer service is really good.
Good store for cheap one use tools. This particular store is easy to find, and usually pretty clean. The area isn't the greatest, but when you need a quick fix tool. "why not"
Don't shop harbor freight they back out of warranty if your product is more then 100 bucks. Tool box thats now worthless and thousands in tool purchases means nothing here.
Waited for 20 minutes for someone to help me find a drill bit they never came back and helped. They kept looking at me and walking by me but never helped me. Unbelievable.
Every imaginable tool many at very reasonable prices. In the last couple of years the company had upgraded product lines more offering budget to high quality house brands.
They don't sell baby formula! Sad to see bare shelves. I was able to get some of what I wanted. Very clean store on 32nd and Thomas Rd in Phoenix. Cheerful associates.
I love going here when I want something I may use once and I never have to spend a ton of money. It makes home projects more manageable. You need it, it's here.
This place rocks, beat the other box store by 39 percent on these items alone, do your home work and print out your list before you go and stick to the list!!
Very helpful with an item I had bought some time ago but I had warranty and they were more than happy to help me replace my item without any issues.thank you
Great values! Now, if you take good care of your tools and equipment, their brands can perform just a well as expensive name brands. I love saving money! XD
Great prices for simple or one time jobs. They staff are very friendly although I think they are understaffed as it is hard to get help on the sales floor.
Great tools at Great prices and the quality is getting better. I realize these aren't top of the line tools, but for the price they don't miss it by much.
Fantastic place to buy tools and equipment. They got everything buy it new and get it cheap. Also offer credit cards so you can buy now and pay later.
I love Harbor freight. Great prices Cool Tools definitely a dude's paradise and if it's not a paradise for a dude you're not a dude ask your friends.
Store is well organized and clean. Did not speak to anyone working at the store. It took only a couple of minutes to be checked out and out the door.
Great store in a less than desired area. The demographic reflects. I'd rather go to one of the others locations. IMHO
Good deals however there didn't seem to be very many employees working so hopefully u don't need to ask a question
Home cheap tools. Low cost tool. Great for the home. Don't last long when used everyday. Lot of great flashlights.
They follow me around like I'm robbing the place . Other than that good prices on just medium to good tools....
Alright if you need something right then and there however the tools only lasted a few days before they broke.
Best place in town for cheap tools and convent as well on the corner next to el super and goodwill and fry's.
Love this store! It's like a toy store for adults and with low prices! I recommend this store to everyone!
I've been shopping here for some years. I drop by to get some things that I don't have or short on.
Easy to find tools and items we needed for our project. Plenty of staff, friendly and helpful.
