I am writing to file a formal complaint against Store Supervisor Kyle @ the 9861 Beach Blvd Store in Jacksonville, FL. Since I'm limited in characters, I will post my entire experience as a Google / Facebook review for this store location as well as to the Harbor Freight store feedback page. I've had three separate store interactions with Kyle since he's been hired all have been counterproductive and not helpful. He also exhibits a condescending dismissive attitude towards customer service and customer satisfaction. Myself like many, have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Harbor Freight, the majority of mine being spent at this location. The majority of the staff here knows me and always made sure I was taken care of. Malakai did an amazing job at this store and unfortunately I think he's moved on because of the poor leadership at this store. There is another employee at this store named Shaun that seems to always do a great job when I am in the store. He's always been very kind to me. On a previous store visit with Kyle, I found him in the middle of the store to ask where a product was located that I was given in a Harbor Freight email. Without hesitation he said "we don't have that and that doesn't even look like the Harbor Freight website" I said thank you and went to where I thought similar products might be and low and behold I was able to find the product in the general area in top stock. I went back by and said I was able to find it but thank you anyways and he said "oh". I had several customers that day say "since you seem to know where things are can you help me find this" I assisted three customers in the store that day to the locations of items since I clearly know the store and aisle layout better than the current staff and certainly better than Kyle. Previous years in the store, the staff would be so helpful, they knew the immediate aisle number of anything you could ask and they'd always walk around and ask you several times if you needed help. It was at this point with Kyle that I realized this store had gone severely down hill. After LOTS of money spent and LOTS of years at this store, I've never had this issue. This would happen several times following and I also observed other less than acceptable customer interactions. I would like to be contacted regarding this and my other experiences. During my career I've served as a retail manager for many years and this behavior is unacceptable and needs to be corrected. He can't be maintaining a positive culture at this store which is why I'm sure the great employees are slowly leaving. Today's interaction was no different ... The one thing I will say is that since our interaction in the middle of the store over the location of the chemical sprayer, he's since always been on a register and it seems as if I always have no choice but to get him as a cashier. I visited today to purchase a floor jack and take advantage of a sale offer sent to me once again in a Harbor Freight email. I also had Harbor Freight money from the Harbor Freight Credit Card to use. Before I could even get to the counter and begin the transaction Kyle said just so you know that coupon isn't going to work on that jack. I replied, I know which is why the coupon is for this other product and I have a different coupon code for the jack. He seemed frustrated as though his attempt to prevent me from saving on the jack had failed. I feel as though I was more educated on the promotions than he was. Of course I know what applies and what doesn't, I spend several days a week and several thousands consistently at the locations. He seemed inconvenienced by the fact that I had Harbor Freight Credit Card money to spend as well and the only option he had at an upsell was the protection plan or the Inside Track Club. AGAIN, I am a retail manager from a very aggressive, performance based, KPI focused, commission incentivized company and I am aware of the sales tactics. I have no problem with the high pressure sales tactics as I've been on the other side.

Great staff in the am at Harbor Freight Southside Estates Beach Blvd. store. Dominique and Justin went above and beyond with old fashioned helpfulness; assisting me . I could not have had better service. Their knowledge of product and utilization of was great. Dominique checked the edger and replacement line availability, answered all my questions and pulled fit for m from the stock. She checked me out accurately with a smile. Justin helped with the installation of the line, adjusted the handle for my height and showed me how to.utilize it safely , comfortably and properly. He also carried it out for me . Thank you for their superior service. These two and Harbor Freight made my day. The knew their stuff. Now I do . Starting my day with H F was great. They're handicapped access, polite, clean, user friendly and kindly appreciate their customers. Fast , fair and a lot of easy parking and shopping. All the staff know what and where their merchandise is in the store. This took ten minutes. No one store beats Harbor Freights' people who consistently have a great helpful attitude where they obviously appreciate their store, job and customers; respecting you individually. I had a great day with H F. In my morning. They've got it down. They actually greeted , served me and THANKED ME !! Friendly staff and they have any tool you need. If they don't have it in stock they can order it. However, it is Harbor Freight and their tools aren't the best on the planet. I have a few tools that have actually lasted a long time and I have bought a few that broke down on me quick. You can't beat the prices though and they always have good coupons. My best recommendation for this place is to go there if you need something to get a job done and your name brands have broke down on you. But there are some things that I will only get at Harbor Freight like nitrile gloves or paint scrapers and pry bars for demo. They have good hammers too so there are some things there you just can't beat. I go there all the time.

Oh, hey, this new store. BOOM! I like it. I mean, these stores are like a kid's toy store...for adults. And Harbor Freights are just so cool for so many reasons- okay, everything. This PARTICULAR store was a notch over all the ones I've visited for years. Expanded, newer set-ups, layout, this & that, sure, but... The Staff. Yes, the people... people. Sorry, HF, Inc., but sometimes your store people, (tired? bad day? I interrupted your inventorying? no raise? mean spouse?) well, just aren't this nice. This pleasant. This helpful. I got a lot near closing, the Manager helped me out...?! Well, YUH! So I told 'em so. Retired teacher with apprentice program, so that and my personal needs? Yeah, here.

If you need tools in a hurry this is definitely the place to go all the sockets and everything are right up front Jackson's jack stands and dollies car dollies are on the right hand side. Power tools are on the left hand side for saws tile saws grinders multi tools everything you can think of. As well as sandpaper and all the things that go with it. and all the miscellaneous stuff like pliers and screwdrivers and all the awesome things you can get are right in the center of the store. Very convenient you'll never have to look for an employee You're practically running into them the whole time you're in the store. They are more than happy to help. Harbor Freight is hands-down the best place to go to for mid-range quality tools. But the bonus is they sell a lifetime warranty for pennies on the dollar and they will replace anything without question instantly. I have a chop saw that I bought 10 years ago that still works beautifully. This store is always busy every employee is always willing to help and very outspoken and fun to deal with. On the same hand this location is always very well-stocked. Just remember when you go try to find your coupons and make sure that you sign up for coupons in the mail they will save you tons of money in the end. Highly recommended store and highly recommended location.

This is a chain AND every store has super nice employees that go out of their way to help you find what you need. Good service is refreshing. Sometimes it is easy to get ignored in a big box store. The prices are often slightly lower than bigger stores. I don't know enough to tell you about quality. Everything I bought there still works. I usually buy things like furniture dollies when I move or small power tools & tools for small jobs. Last time I bought an inclinometer to measure angles. The guy knew what it was. Walked me right to it. He also showed me some alternatives and told me why they may or may not be a good choice.

I agree that the store has a good quality product (for the most part) and a reasonable price. However, BUYER BEWARE: The salesperson told me that I could return my items within 90 days - "no questions asked". I ended up not needing my items and returned them to the store unopened in 2 days. I was charged a 25% restocking fee on all my items. A cash purchase of $89 got me a return of $66. Deceptive policy that has now resulted in my shopping elsewhere. If there is even a slight chance that you may be returning an item - DO NOT BUY IT HERE!

I love harbor freight tools. All of them. They always come in handy. Got me a great deal on a weight distribution hitch. Half price compared to alot of places and a 1/3 or 1/4 of what they cost @ camper trailer accessories stores. For real! If your pullin' big weight like I do. Your gonna need some tools and some supplies from time to time. Don't over spend, go to Harbot Freight Tools. Do it now. Set down the phone, and go! Heck even just to look around. I dare you to try to leave without buying something. Double dog dare, triple dog...

Well I do like the store and I did get some of the items I was looking for. But they had some stuff on sale for 99 cent with the coupon and when I got there they were out of everything didn't offer me a rain check or tell me possibly when they could have more in they just got a truck comes tomorrow check back so I was a little disappointed in that they didn't have enough of the product that they put on sale to meet the demand you should always have the product available if you have it on sale that's all thank you

Bought a tarp to cover my outdoor roof and it didn't even last me a full week! Of course this was made in china! It ripped right in the middle and all my tools got wet (im a handyman btw) anyways I went back to harbor freight to return it and they wont give me a refund! How can they sell something that wont last a full week? No matter how cheap you guys are how can you guys sell something like that? I was a regular here but after this issue I will never go back!

Love this place! Went in for the 15" tool/ammo bag and found this adorable little 6" tool bag that was just the perfect size for carrying the stuff I have to take with me to the doctors. I'm going to dress it up with some butterfly and flower appliques. Husband thinks I am nuts, but why spend $500+ for a bag when you can get one for $6.00? Lots of what they carry is also great for crafting but much cheaper than the local craft stores. Friendly staff too!

I'm not one to buy hand tools here, but the speciality tools are cheap and they offer 2 year warranty. I see all the time on the social media people comparing hand tools here to Snap On and Marco, with there just as good and they have a lifetime warranty. Ok, that is fine if you live near one and have time on your day off to go and take care of it. However I have yet to have a Harbor Freight store pull up in my shop parking lot once a week.

Came here to buy a few specific products for woodworking: the aluminum bar clamps (with Paul Seller's modification at home). As soon as I walk into the store, the staff greeted and welcomed me. The store was clean and organized, didn't have trouble finding anything even though it was my first time there. Checking out was also a pleasant experience. 5/5 for staff friendliness. I left the store with more things than I came here for!

This is definitely the place you should visit for some of your needs and forget Home Depot. Harbor Freight provide the customer service that a major alfert such as Home Depot is not able to provide. This store employees are willing to ask for assistance and tell you that they are not sure and will get you someone with more experience in tools saving you much time and headache's. They do have handicap parking as well as access.

Stop going to bLowes and Home Despot. Let's take $100 and spend at HF or any big box stores, at HF you always come out with more tools at a better value. If you're working on your car get the Pittsburgh 30 piece black socket set. You'll break or warp the sockets in a big tool pack which are good for wrenching around the house. In the picture is about $50 worth if tools I use to regularly work on my truck.

Well, about all the tools are made in china and low quality in my opinion. They will give you a warranty at an additional cost. Prices have gone up since I was there last time. You can get a little cheaper price on items if you pay to be in their club. Since there are less good deals, I don't think I will be making the trip to buy from them unless I can't find the item I'm looking for anywhere else...

Great place for lots of cheaper tools. If you aren't expecting to do a great deal of work, like on a professional level, or are just starting out as a professional with tools, this is where you need to go to get your stuff. Wether it's basic stuff for the home, car, or shop, they've got a great variety and good prices. Most of their stuff has a lifetime warranty. Check them out

A great store with a “small town” atmosphere. I visited Harbor Freight to get some sanding pads for a Dremel tool in my sculpting class. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. They answered every question I had. The store was easy to navigate and I certainly didn’t feel overwhelmed. I think it’s worth noting that I know NOTHING about power tools and equipment.

Disappointed lack of customer service, when I requested assistance they were cavalier, just wanted to pass me off, clerk busy on phone talking trash to someone very laud, clerk that finely came after I walked store for assistance I was only one of 4 customers not at all busy couldn't get rid of me fast enough, even when I tried to ask questions

Good Experience, handicap parking by entrance. Bathroom was clean. Aisles were clear and store was clean. Lighting is good. Was asked several times if I needed help and where I could find what I was shopping for. Pleasant check out. Good Sales...look for coupons online. Holidays and Special Events usually have a 20% off coupons. See you there!

Was a awesome experience when I visited, one of the store associates noticed I was looking a what welder to purchase and as I took the ticket up to the register, she said" I see your buying a welder, let me get that and bring nit up to the front.!" Now that is someone going above and beyond to help a customer, look forward to going back.

Had a very good staff to work with while I got too shop at the last minute for torque wrench jack stands racing hydraulic speed Jack and a nice creeper with 6 wheels that rolls really great just be careful of the wheels might pinch you're fingers when getting up no worry on sitting down on creeper does not try to jump up away from you

I love this store! They have coupons for free items that are always so handy. I like to come get my Hurricane supplies here to keep on hand. I usually get batteries and tarps here as well as great tools at a good price. The staff all know what they are talking about. That helps if you don't know what you need.

We had needed some Tarps to cover an Antique Car that We have. Through their Super Coupons and Their Buy One Item and get another item from their free menu list We ended up getting 6 Tarps very cheap. I have bought many great Tools from Harbor Freight at really great prices. I highly recommend them. Tiffany

Big Carrie 12 quality tools, bakery top quality materials they are at understated company that is a necessity for this city and the real professional who knows what he likes all the way down to his driving distance to his screwdrivers and branches. Even the girls at the counter were talking about how it was a men's store. It is the only store I know of that men save coupons for. It has a lot of everything for you. It is hard to go in without buying something that you did not know you needed when you went in. Great Store!! Keep it up Harbor Freight!!!

Cheap tools!!! And good selection of specialty tools that are cheap. Most aren't very durable, but if you are only expecting to use them a few times you can save lots of money over the bigger tool store brands. They also have an excellent warranty program if you expect to use the tool a lot.

Would I buy a tool I was looking to hand down to my grandchildren here? Maybe not, but they have a wide selection of very useful tools at great prices and it's a super place to pick up bits, sanding belts, blades, etc. at much better prices than the big box stores. Very helpful staff.

It's not often I can give these guys 5 stars, as the service is usually between non existant and terrible. This trip was a nice surprise, as the cashier at the front was friendly, and helpful. Prices are always good at Harbor Freight, but it's a nice change when the staff is friendly.

I needed a #10 torx screwdriver to fix my robot vacuum. Of course, Harbor Freight had what I needed, and at a good price too. Great first experience shopping there. It's the kind of place you could wander around buying all kinds of things you previously didn't know you needed, lol.

Great store for anything you can possibly think of that you may need at great prices. They also have coupons galore to bring prices down even further. Highly recommend. But also know, that you are not buying top tier tools, but they are still good quality. Worth checking out.

Great place for tools that do the job at a better price. Staff was friendly. Not everything you need, but the majority of the items for most jobs. With coupons and specials they run, you end up spending far less money then you’d think. Plus they have the online store too.

Called ahead of time to ask for a specific item.I was told they had the item there and multiple. When I arrived at the store I soon found out that it was not available at the store and offered something I did not want. Needless to say I won’t be going back to that store.

My daughter is the one who went inside while I sat in the car, but she came out with glowing reports of the customer service. She told me that she was asked more than once if she needed help and the checkout was fantastic as well. We will definitely be back!

Always a great place to get I expensive e tools and supply. Took advantage of the Thanksgiving deals to buy some tire for my riding lawn mower trailer. Only $5. A great place to buy stuff for Christmas. Even have a section with toys and stocking stuffers.

This is my go-to store for great deals and lower prices for tools. They have weekly fliers on their website, and are always pushing out sales on most of their inventory. It's also great how quick their staff is able to get everyone through the lines.

Wide variety of everything tools. I bought a motorcycle portable lift. Guys at harbor Freight hooked me up with a 30% discount on top of it being on sale already. signed up for alerts and member benefits. Always have great stuff on sale.

Staff is better than most. Even if they don't know said piece of equipment use, they will track it down or locate in back. Fluid between aisle help and registers. These people need a bravo and company lunch/bonus/pay raise.

Typically, you have what you need at a lower cost here, and the stuff works. They also have a decent warranty program. Great place to go to instead of rushing to the Home Depot or Lowes, where pricing is noticeably higher.

I like shopping here for all of my DIY projects. This store has a variety of different items from the very top name brands to lesser known brands. You will always find something you can use, and they won't break the bank.

Good place to get quick easy cheap tools for the DIY job. I would not stock my work vehicle with these tools, but for home use or one time use definitely a good bye. They offer 3 year warranties on most products.

Decent selection. However they sell anchor inserts and don't sell the lags/screws that work and coincide with them? Therefore we had to buy our anchors and then go elsewhere for our lags, just doesn't make sense

Love the store. Not top of the line tools but the prices are good. They are always having sales, so sometimes you make out pretty good. I have to limit myself on going there because they have so much neat stuff.

I purchased a new electric paint sprayer, it Work for 30 seconds then quit. Great price for a piece of junk. I went ahead and purchased a Wagner which I should have done to begin with. It Worked fantastic.

Normally this place is fire but today something was off. They stopped serving sweet tea and the food was a little burned or dry. I'm very disappointed to see a once great restaurant in such a bad way.

Workers were awesome! My husband wanted a tool, called ahead and they pulled it up front for me. When we looked it was missing a part so we grabbed another one. She was so easy, friendly, and helpful!

Nice clean well stocked. Very friendly cashier. Was also looking for a heavy duty hose reel cart for my commercial water hoses I use for pressure washing. They don't carry these however. No complaints

A bit disappointed they had a jack I wanted with a great price come to find out they had them marked wrong..Technically not my problem should have sold it to me for the advertised price but didn't.

Place isn’t too bad, but the staff isn’t very friendly or helpful, very quick answers as if telling you to buzz off. Also no toilet paper in one restroom, and not soap in either bathroom. Not good.

They have some cool tools. They had in stock a sweep magnet. Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace Hardware did not. The store was very clean. The staff was very helpful. I definately will be going back.

Purchased a bad transfer pump and tried to return it. Forced to go online. HORRIBLE! They should just be honest and tell you that you're screwed on certain items at the checkout.

Always good deals. Malachi will try to sell you everything in the store, if you let him. Wish they had the shopvac thing I wanted, but there's always another deal next week.

The Manager Eric is the Best. ALWAYS has an amazing friendly attitude and goes above and beyond to ensure his customers are happy. His Staff is also Amazing.

Very well stocked and clean store. Good quality and prices. Bought a 4 ton porta power for $140. Highly recommend this store for all your tool needs.

It is a good place to solve problems quickly and cheaply, but this store is very small compared to my personal experience with other similar ones.

Harbor freight's tools has reasonable priced items and friendly service. The staff is all too eager to help you find what you're looking for.

I get all of my duck water fountain pumps from there. I always include the warranty so I'm able to replace them at anytime. Love this place!

They have a few deals but most of their merchandise is cheap junk that is made in China. I bought some staples that were made in Taiwan.

Good, clean store with professional staff. not some trash hole. Employees follow sanitization guidelines so it feels less of a risk.

Items at good prices. Although, they sell light strings without also selling the replacement bulbs. The bulbs can be had to find.

They run a tight ship. Always plenty of staff, clean, organized. The tools are affordable and it's in a very convenient location.

Wheels on dolly are very cheaply made.Manufacture defect.we use very little and have already had to replace 2 and 1 is cracking
