I recently had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Harry Peltz in person after only speaking to him on the phone about a year ago when I signed up for the flower program that you offer there. I had let it lapse for a while and on my most recent visit to see my mom and dad, by the way, they have been residents at Greenlawn for 3 years and 32 years respectively, I decided to start it again. Harry was so accommodating and helpful. He was able to assist me in getting flowers on my parents graves that day even taking the time to take me out to their graves in the golf cart to ensure that there would be flowers on their graves that very day. I was so impressed and grateful to him for the personal service that he gave me that I was compelled to write this review. I am so thankful and appreciative of his professional and personal service and his true compassion, empathy, understanding, and dedication. He truly is in the right profession. Thanks again Harry. God bless.
The team at Hardage-Giddens did a phenomenal job with my grandmother's funeral arrangements. From walking us through all of the options available to getting a caisson to send her off, Mary Beth and her team had me and my family reassured and calm every step of the way. On the day of the wake and funeral, the life story table (which isn't common, but should be) looked joyous and really showed the depth of my grandmother's life. The decoration team took my family's breath away at how thoughtful and perfectly curated this was. I'd also like to mention Beth F. who helped us more on the cemetery plot side. Her friendliness and willingness to jump into meetings with my family did not go unnoticed. We are so thankful. And to all the staff members who brought waters to us, found tissue boxes for us, and held the doors open, you all really made this time of grief unforgettably easier. Thank you!
To my face the employees at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn (Beach Blvd.) Funeral Home seemed very sympathetic. However they did not provide good service. No one talked to me about an obituary or death notice. I had call back after I realized this. Then after 18 days with no other contact from them, I contacted them 3 different times to find out the status of my mothers cremation. My mothers final arrangements were prepaid so it’s possible the service I received was related to the fact that I did not have to pay for anything at the time of her passing. I would not recommend this company. I would like to add that the company followed up with me based on my review and seemed very concerned over my experience. They asked a lot of details and stated the funeral director was “new” and they would use my feedback as a learning experience.
I am a minister's wife. As such, I have always recommended this funeral home for our friends and family. Now that we have had a personal need for their services, we have had our recommendations proven to be correct. We were treated with the utmost respect, kindness, and care from the moment we walked in the door, until long after the funeral. Kisha was phenomenal. She always had a solution while dealing with a large family. She was extremely professional, caring and understanding of what we were asking. India always greeted me with a loving smile and a warm hug when I needed it. I cannot tell you how very blessed I am to have been taken care of by such a wonderful group of professionals who treated us like family. Thank you for doing the service deserving of my amazing Dad. You have made us all proud.
The staff at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery did a wonderful job of taking care of my brother's funeral. From seamlessly getting him from Dunedin Florida to Jacksonville to getting in touch with the Synagogue and the Rabbi. Almost all paperwork was done through a local funeral home and they were very helpful also. Holly Lucke is wonderful, I can't say enough about the great work she did to make this happen per my brothers prearranged wishes and my requests. The only thing Holly could have done better was make the weather a little more sunny and warmer! I am grateful that the staff was allowed to wear the colorful clothing that my brother requested be worn by everyone, I'm sure they won't forget Lawrence (Larry) H. Lipsey, as he was a colorful person in life.
We just used their services for my father’s funeral and everything was perfect from start to finish. My father had pre-planned his services which made the process that much easier for us. Mary Beth and her team were a god send during this difficult time and we’re VERY professional and respectful to the priest of the church (even when he was being so difficult). I highly recommend everyone pre-planning their service (as difficult as it might seem), that way the family can actually grieve the loss of their loved one rather than run around and become burdened with decision making and the cost. Thank you to the entire team for all of their hard work.
I thought you were very caring and thorough, but I must say after checking with a funeral home in Macon where we went to have the memorial service at our former church there, you over charged me drastically. Hart Mortuary in Macon would have done the cremation for $1,350, plus the cost of the two obituaries, the temporary urn, and two death certificates, which is all I have needed. In fact, I haven't needed the other eight you charged me for as everyone just made a copy and gave the original back to me. You should be ashamed of yourselves for preying on those who have lost love ones. Over $4,000 was way too much for a simple cremation.
Greenlawn Funeral Home is the best. From the moment we walked in the door, for our appointment, they took care of us with such kindness and compassion. Robert Moore, and Mary Beth, listened to us and understood our budget and worked with in it. They went above and beyond on the day of the funeral, and brought additional staff to help with masks and hand sanitizer. They allowed us to follow the coach from the funeral home to the service, on a route that I wanted to take to ride the deceased’s favorite places. I totally recommend them. Thank You.
My dad and mom had already paid for their funeral arrangements before hand. My dad passed away in January and my momma passed away in February. We met with the funeral director Heather for the arrangements for my dad. She was so kind and sweet. She handled everything to a tee. When momma passed away we used the same location at Greenlawn. Heather again took such good care of us and all the arrangements. I cannot give her a better review other than perfect. I promise you will not go wrong with using Hardage and Giddens Greenlawn.
As soon as I entered the building I knew our family would be in great hands. Ashley Lacey is such a kind and compassionate person. Her kindness and just listening to my mother share many memories of my step father was so appreciated. Ashley listened and answered all of my mothers questions with compassion and understanding which made the planning process so much easier for my mother. Our family is so grateful to Ashley and all of the staff at Greenlawn for the true kindness that was shown to us during such a difficult time.
This was the first time I ever had to plan a funeral/cremation in my own 60 + years of life. David and Lisa walked me through the entire process even though the actual funeral/burial was being performed out of state. Through out the entire process they helped me through any issues I had with the coroner's office getting everything signed off to compete the cremation and get my moms remains released for a pre arranged funeral on time.David and Lisa were totally professional and extremely helpful through the entire process
Overall, they did a great job working with me to assure everything my parents had organized with them (many years ago) happened. I had one problem and Melissa assisted and fixed it. Also, Sarah Langland was amazing! She helped figure out things from a distance and went out of her way to help us get things organized. Also, even though there were technical issues, she demonstrated smarts and flexibility and figured it all out. I felt like they cared and wanted me to be pleased.
Extending our thanks to Manager David Torres, his assistants Lisa and Mariah at Greenlawn Chapel and cemetery. The knowledge and compassion shown to us made the process much easier. Barb, Lisa and associates took great care during the service as it was very hot providing water, fans etc. We also appreciated Lisa finding the songs our mother loved. This was a sad and difficult time for our family. Everyone at Greenlawn Chapel made it so much easier. ~ D.Johnson ~
This week I was looking for the resting place of a friend's young daughter that passed away in 2002. Tina and Aaron were extremely helpful and pointed us to the grave site. I asked for their guidance for flowers, and they shared the selection of beautiful silk ready to go. They both went above and beyond to help us find and care for the grave and marker for this young soul. They were helpful, respectful, and very kind—our appreciation to Aaron and Tina.
As a former employee with the maintenance crew at Greenlawn and working for other Hardage-Giddens cemeteries in Jacksonville I can honestly say the Greenlawn staff was the nicest and most pleasant to work for/with. Thanks for everything Mr. Moore, Mr. Torres, Beth, Mary Beth, John, Karen and the rest of the office folk I maybe forgot. God bless you all. I must not forget my fabulous and frantic foreman James Love ya kehd. God bless you all.
During our time of tragedy Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn literally guided our family through one of the toughest times we have known. Their staff treated Grandpa with the upmost Dignity, and was patient with our decisions all along the way. In the end, they took care of all the filing for death certificates and other things that were needed. They were very respectful and helpful. Thank you Greenlawn for all you did for our family.
Mary Beth and her team at Hardage Giddens were wonderful every step of the way - the behind the scenes effort put into my father-in-law's funeral and the small personal items were touching and such a comfort. From the countless emails to the Gator football keychains, every step of the way, they were available and compassionate. Thank you again for the professionalism, compassion and kindness given to our family.
Our extended family has several plots here tucked away in one corner of the grounds and we visit semi-regularly to pay respect to parents, cousins, and grandparents. My younger relatives really enjoy stopping to reflect on faith, family, and mortality. It is always well maintained and we do change the vases with new arrangements when we can. It is a peaceful place to remember those departed who are close to us.
I cannot say enough good things about Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetary. They went above and beyond to make things stress free. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and had answers to all of my questions and concerns. They kept me informed and at ease through the whole process. They did an exceptional job all around. I was very pleased and highly recommend using them.
Very helpful, especially when Hurricane Dorian decided to interrupt my mother’s funeral. I was relaxed and did not feel rushed through this sad experience. I want to thank you all for what you did for me and my family. I want to thank Holly and Mary Beth, I only remember their names. Also, want to thank those behind the scenes for all you have done. Thank you again.
We thank Beth and Mary Beth for all of their help and support during this stressful time with the loss of our mother. They were so wonderful at explaining and helping us navigate the process and made it a wonderful success in honoring our mom's wishes. I highly recommend these 2 angels who have made this situation so much better with their care and support.
Every staff member we met - from the receptionist to the catering lady - was kind, caring, and professional. We especially appreciated the sympathetic service provided by Rakisha Pickett and Aaron Gibson-Evans. They led us through a very difficult time and did so much to help create a memorable and comforting experience. We are grateful.
From my grandfather to more recent my mother the entire Ebersold family is there. Working the Beth and Ashley really took the pressure and stress away from having rest a loved one. They as well as everyone Greenlawn are so kind and and compassionate. Thank y'all again for the experience and working so well with me.
What a wonderful staff. I never knew my older sister that died as a young child before I came along. As I'm getting older, I asked my father what cemetery she was buried at. Contacting Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn over email, they were more than helpful in taking a picture of the marker for me. It really helped.
Ashley and her team were absolutely fantastic in assisting me with my mothers final arrangements! Her professionalism, caring, dedication and commitment to our specific needs was beyond reproach! I HIGHLY recommend contacting Ashley and the staff of Greenlawn Funeral home and Cemetery when the time comes!
A very professional, compassionate, and caring staff who continually serve families with the best service possible. Hats off to Brent Perry and the entire staff. As a local musician and minister I’ve worked with this staff multiple times and would refer them to anyone during their time of need.
This was the best experience i could have ever hoped for ! Everyone treated you like family i felt they genuinely showed their empathy and caring. thought of all of our needs and kept us organized throughout the whole process! I have nothing but fond memories of the care they took of my Mother.
Very rude staff. After our funeral we were told we needed to go to our vehicles so they could finish the burial. However our reservation was until 4 and we were told this at 3:45. Also, they proceeded to bury while family was still there. All while driving their tractor over tombstones.
Hardage, Giddings was very easy and professional to work with. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating and bent over every which way they could to make this hard time in one’s life very easy and very sensitive. I would recommend them very highly if you were in need of these services.
ZERO complaints. Staff was very professional. the fact that my son looked so peaceful and natural in his coffin speaks volumes to the caliber of preparation and dedication of H-G. In particular Holly was outstanding in dispatching her duties. Thanks. Clayton Emory Smith II
I had the privilege of meeting with Beth Fabiano in regards to setting up my pre-needs burial arrangements. She was very informative as well as polite and sensitive to my wishes. I would highly recommend her and Hardage-Giddens to anyone who is need of final arrangements.
Thank you for taking care of my mom - the service, the funeral, and everything else were so well attended to by the staff! Father gave a moving and memorable service and your company mattered too. I am glad we came to you for this occasion! Beautiful and beautifully done.
I’m 19 years old and before meeting Mary anne at greenlawn, i never gave a thought to prearranging and possibly getting a lot next to my grandparents. she really opened my eyes and made me realize it’s never too early to start preparing!
I have nothing but great things to say about the staff here, they are awesome here, they go on and beyond to do things for you,to make sure everything is in order,I want to thank them for everything. ♡

Mary Beth was wonderful. She was incredibly patient and understanding. She was knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. Thank you for making a very difficult situation much easier to bear.
Met with Camille Ott for the first time to finalize our pre-arrangements. Camille is a lovely woman that treated us with kindness and respect making us feel comfortable with this process.
Our consultant was Aaron and he provided us with our options for arrangements and pricing. His advice helped us make some pre funeral decisions that we had not considered.
Had a terrible experience here. Their lawn care broke our headstone and they refused to make it right. The lady on the phone was exceptionally rude about the whole thing.
I have many family members at this cemetery. My husband, mom, pops, brother and son .. It's beautiful there and I too will rest in this beautiful place one day also …
Mary Beth and her team were compassionate and professional. They helped me work thru some of the extra complications having a loved one die during Covid-19 shutdown.
This funeral home was amazing. Very professional and handled all our needs and them some. My Aunt & Uncle are both in crypts and wouldn't consider anywhere else.
Everyone was very helpful and courteous. My mom and wife passed away in the last year and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received.
Fredrick and Steve were very helpful, understanding and patient. They went out of their way to ensure our needs were met, and to resolve an issue we had.
Brent Perry and staff were a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond expectations when planning a complicated funeral for a co worker.
Mary made the final arrangements stress free. Guided us the whole way. Could not have asked for a more compassionate person to help us.
many thanks to the Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery team for the excellent service and heartfelt participation.
I appreciate all the help that Fred and the rest of your staff has given me as I plan toward the future. Many thanks, Marilyn Haddock
Family and many friends are buried there. It is always well kept and the staff is exceptional. I highly recommend this cemmetary.
Met with them last week to plan for Mom's service. Found them to be typical funeral home corporate crooks. Would NEVER use them.
The funeral director, Mary Beth, could not have been more helpful, even responding to my questions on Easter. Highly recommend.
Marybeth and Beth took care of our son extremely well. Very compassionate and caring people. We could not ask for more.
Greenlawn Cemetery treated me with love and respect!! They did everything that I asked for!! I highly recommend them!!
