Lovely! I literally live 5 mins. away by car, but I felt like I did a " Day Trip " to a Destination Spot that could've been a few hours away! I'm not saying that Staten Island isn't good, in fact I'm actually saying that it's GREAT because an establishment such as this Restaurant is a very Welcomed addition to that many other Businesses I've been impressed with and I don't have to Travel far to get to them. Since we're still in the ' Outdoor Seating Phase ' I took advantage of the beautiful sunny day to visit, however, I'm very Anemic and my body could not tolerate the high winds and cooler temp. But it was still an opportunity before the real cold arrives so I went. The Server was so understanding about my inability to stay outdoors to eat so he wrapped up my whole order as I warmed up in my car. It might not sound like such a big deal, but believe me it was a huge deal for anyone who is Anemic. That said, I had other things to do before heading home and my food was running those errands with me lol, so about 5 hrs. after purchasing Eggs Benedict ( The dish is served on crab cakes, hollandaise sauce and a potato roll ) Absolutely a Must Try, and I was in shock after I reheated it and the yolk was still the same as it should be when poached!!! Hours Later Too!!! Amazing... The Crab Meat was Crab Meat! 100% without any fillers that I could see, at least that was my take on it but nonetheless this was Crab at it's best for this method. They offered a Great Service, very Attentive Staff Person, Linen Napkins ( I appreciate things like that when dining at a Quaint yet still Fine Eatery ), I think the " Little Things/Details " matter, and if someone makes the effort to provide them, I make the effort to provide a compliment and this Restaurant deserves many of them, and not just from me. Undoubtedly this Place is as Special as it's designed to be as explained in their Bio ( worth the read ), and the Chef certainly cares about what he serves his Customers as well. It was my first time ever seeing a menu that stipulated how the Chef personally makes up his Menu by choosing Fresh and Seasonal Ingredients, then turns them into the Delicious Creations that inspired this review. He of course offered items we're familiar with in the Traditional Sense and also some of those were sporting a twist such as my meal choice. He also showcased some Culinary Skills by getting creative and his Love for Food is reflected in the menu items that are his own and I can't wait to go again to eat what has already gotten my mind salivating, and since there's plenty to choose from I'll have to make many visits. Luckily I will not have to worry about the cold weather afterall because I was informed that Indoor Dining will be avail. beginning at the end of Sept., so I'm good to go and as I've already said, I don't have far to go, and to have an overall Wonderful Experience that made me feel like I was on Martha's Vineyard or some other location similarly is not only Appealing to me, but I feel like I deserve to be able to stay put on this Island and enjoy all it has to offer Foodwise especially with this Gem that I found while looking for something else was discovered and I just had a feeling it was going to be exactly where I needed to go just to get away from all we're dealing with, and have a meal that resembled the end of Summer combined with the taste and the aromatic hues that signify all we love about Autumn. The Crisp Fresh Air as well as the Changing Colors of the Leaves set an Ambience that paired so Perfectly with the Chef's Menu as well as the Location of this Restaurant, I couldn't have been pleased me anymore than I was. It's not too often when a Day leaves you with the feeling that you just spent a week, at the very least of complete contentment but it was exactly how I felt because it began on such a positive note that everything else that followed was met with ease and that lent to a sense of calamity that I've missed a lot lately. Thanks to the Harvest Café I'm going to have more to look forward to and I have no doubt they'll Satisfy

This is the first place we ate during this week long stay on Staten Island. It is very bright, cheerful and clean. We only saw street parking but easily found a spot across from the restaurant on a side street. We wanted breakfast but they stopped serving at 11. Lunch is served from 11 am-3pm when they close. The lunch menu looked great also. My daughter ordered a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken which was very fresh with crisp homemade croutons. I ordered the loaded tater tots and asked for fried eggs on top which they were happy to make even though breakfast was over. It was so delicious! I couldn’t eat all of the tots. The loaded tater tots are definitely sharing size! To get such a great lunch with tea and tip for only $25.00 is incredible! We were surprised by how fast our food arrived at our table. The staff were all so professional and attentive. They were also some of the sweetest people we have ever met! We were treated like Royalty. Our waiter, John, actually walked outside and thanked us and welcomed us to return. Please visit Harvest Cafe, you will leave a happier person and not just because of the great food and service!

Want to give a HUGE shoutout to Harvest Café for hosting a beautiful breakfast buffet yesterday on the morning of my son’s Baptism. Head chef Joe and his staff were so sweet and accommodating. We had about 40 people and they were so impressed with everything. The food was cooked fresh and absolutely delicious. Included in the buffet were pastries, bagels, danishes, muffins, biscuits, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, pancakes and tater tots. They also served us freshly made chocolate chip cookies and brownies. As soon as something ran low they immediately refilled it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND having your gathering here or even just stop by for breakfast or brunch.

I crossed over the bridge from Brooklyn to spend the day in Staten Island. Stumbled upon this restaurant during a brief Google Maps search and I’m beyond glad that I did. The mission is what drew me in. Upon entering the clean, quaint establishment, I was welcomed and seated by Jess. She was such a gracious, attentive hostess and server. I ordered the garden salad with crab cakes and a Belgian waffle. The food was amazing. I also had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman (either named Jake or Drake) who was so pleasant and courteous. It was the end of the shift and Jess ensured that he had change for the bus and their interactions warmed my heart. I must also mention that the prices were great. I would definitely come back!

Do not eat here. The food is decent, but it takes a long time to get it. A breakfast meal should be an hour and a half ordeal EVERY time you come here. Today's excuse was the cook quit. Even when he was here, with an eigth of the tables full it would still take an hour at least to get food. There's always something wrong; we ran out of waffle batter, our waffle machine is broke, we ran out of blueberries. Just save yourself the headache and if you have anywhere important to be, you'll go to Jays diner who at least gets meals should take up a large portion of the day. I want to like this place so much but the service has put off a lot of people.

Absolutely love this breakfast and brunch place. Not only because the foods are delicious also they have a mission-The mission is to provide developmentally disabled Staten Islanders with opportunities to develop skills after graduating from high-school. I’m really amazed by that.

Excellent food and staff. We sat outside which was perfect with the summer breeze. The inside looked nice and cozy as well. The staff was very helpful and considerate. We got the crab cake Benedict which was delicious, with possibly the best home fries I’ve had. On top of all of it, the cafe has a noble mission which we appreciate. We will be coming back if we are in the area.

We went here for a surprise birthday party. They closed the restaurant because we were 100 people. The food was great. They serve breakfast and lunch. They also do brunch. This is run by people who are giving young adults that are mentally challenged. They are teaching them to earn money, a skill and how to survive in real world. The food is very good and full portions. The service is exceptional. Give them a try. Your money will be very well spent. And your patronage will be most appreciated. Street parking and handicap ramp. Very clean and well managed. Sorry it took me so long to write this.

Girlfriend and I were looking for a great breakfast spot and stumbled upon Harvest Cafe. Let me tell you.. the service, the food and the price were all amazing. I couldn’t believe the portion size given for the price. We were in Staten Island for about 4 days and went to Harvest cafe every morning. Best breakfast spot ever! The pancakes, the coffee, the breakfast sandwich and side of the potatoes are all delicious. My girlfriend and I wish we lived near there to go there everyday. Go here for a great experience! Amazing customer service and delicious delicious delicious x1000 food!!

Came here on a recommendation and enjoyed the food and staff. Reading others reviews, I'm disgusted by the nature of their critics. Speed of service and no reservation conditions seems to be their chief complaints. This is not that kind of cafe. If you have time and patience, the food is very good and staff are very sweet. Similarly, if you venture down south, service is also slow and people greet you warmly. If you're too obsessed with time and people jumping when you snap your fingers, go somewhere else. I'll be nice and not tell you where to go.

  • Laura G

The food was excellent, portions were generous. I had Grilled Pork Tenderloin,my friend had Pretzel Crusted Chicken Club. The wait staff was exceptional, we were 'checked on' to make sure all was well. They serve soft drinks only but you can bring your own wine.. Currently they also have an Oktoberfest menu. They are open Mon-Sat 8:30- 3:30 Thur,Fri- 4:30- 9:00 Harvest Cafe is owned and operated by A Very Special Place, whose goal it is to create new opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. I will definitely be eating there again..

  • Tugce Ayhan

We went there right at the opening. It was empty and the service was great. We had 2, 4 years olds with us and it was not a big deal. Noone complained or gave looks. We had great food for a very very reasonable price. By 12 pm it started to get really busy. I was actually surprised to see how busy they were. I loved everything about this place. I will definitely go back. I also have a developmentally delayed daughter, so it actually made me really happy to see how the staff was so good at what they do. Thanks for doing this.

  • J J

Excellent food, amosphere and service. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The food was fresh, well-presented and superb! Drinks were affordable (wine ranged from $5-6 per glass, $18 per bottle). Entrees were a bit more expensive (ranging, but not more than $25 or so) but well worth the price for the quality. Being in the restaurant industry for nearly a decade, I was very satisfied with my experience. I will definitely be returning and will happily recommend this place to friends and family!

  • Sean

Wow. Really. This truly is the best place for breakfast on Staten Island. I just had the best poached eggs I have ever had and the french toast was so delicious. The prices are unbelievably reasonable for the quality of food you get here. I left with a bill that was the equivalent of a plain old diner. This is a place that every person on Staten Island needs to go to. The service is great and it feels like your a guest in someone's house. Seriously, go to Harvest Cafe. You won't be dissapointed.

  • Judy Huang

This local breakfast/brunch place is small but very intimate. It has a home feel to it. The menu selection is pretty decent and the prices reflect similarly. This place is an advocate for people with special needs. The thing that I appreciate the most is to see the staff reflect the mission and cause of their business. It has a strong sense of community and it is nice to see it that they take the time and effort to train people with special needs to be part of society on a daily basis.

  • Anthony Marchitelli

This place was great nice and clean friendly and the food was great the prices are great as well. This place employs handicap people how nice is that. I recommend the vanilla French toast as seen in the picture it was delicious as were the eggs and potatoes . We will be going back we are glad we found this place.

My sister held my nephew’s baptism breakfast here. Forty people attended & it was buffet style. The food was delicious & there was something for everyone. The wait staff was top notch & very attentive. The buffet was never left empty. They really accommodated everyone. We also go here for breakfast on regular days & always enjoy it too. The quality of everything is why they were selected for the baptism party. This is a great spot!

  • Misha Bluvshteyn

Great place for brunch and lunch. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is reasonable priced and good portion. They have a 20$ brunch that includes a booze drinking, brunch food and dessert. Plus there are two tables to sit outside and watch an amateur sport game.

Hi, I wanted to know if you have a private email address? Just to let you know, I haven’t visited the Harvest Cafe as of today. But I will be coming up North, from Florida in two weeks. I intend to have a great breakfast with friends on my visit. I wanted to share something that I know you will find interesting. My email address is : michaeldodger_blue@yahoo.com. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you.

We love harvest cafe!!! It’s nothing fancy, just traditional, diner-style dishes, but it’s always a nice experience. The staff is the best! very friendly and attentive. They also FINALLY reintroduced a full-sized menu recently (it was limited for a while after Covid). They have good-sized portions and a decent variety of options on the menu. I like the crab cake benedict.

The food was was very good. My steak and eggs was cooked perfectly to temp. The harvest potatoes were flavorful and crispy. The server was a little overwhelmed with the crowd of people I think because he forgot my coffee until I was almost done eating and I had to ask another server for more coffee. Maybe it was just a bad day for him, it happens. I will be back to try the chicken and waffles.

This place is what every neighborhood needs. Great food, great prices, it’s clean, good vibes and always a blast. The food is always done proper, cooked well with generous portions. The cook named Joey is phenomenal, he is as talented as he is passionate and kind. Would really truly recommend if you’re in the area to stop in for a pint and burger you’ll walk away happy. A neighborhood GEM

The waiters and waitresses who have developmental disabilities are very attentive to your needs and proud to be working. The staff is well supervised, the restaurant itself is clean and bright, and the food is delicious. I still haven't had their breakfast yet, but my wife who's enjoyed breakfast here with her friends has nothing but praise.

  • Jack N. Jill

This place is an unassuming delight! Everything on the menu is a treat. You can visit everyday and find a new favorite on the menu. Seating is cozy year round, but the small patio has a superb breeze that will slow down your summer mornings. Everyone at the restaurant is super friendly and always smiling and helpful.

This is a wonderful restaurant with a beautiful mission of helping people with learning differences gain experience for the working world.
