I visited Harvey Norman Hobart a few days ago to discuss the possibility of returning an electric knife as it did not meet my requirements. I had only attempted to use it once but granted I had purchased it a few months before. It was in pristine condition and was a low priced Sunbeam product but was very underpowered. . I was met with a wall. Too late to return I was told but saleswoman very unclear what the policy was regarding timing of a return if not satisfied. Made to feel as if I was a second class citizen, probably as I was nearing seventy years of age. (Mind you, I had bought whitegoods and appliances from HN to fit out a renovated kitchen and bathroom in the last 18 months and on that occasion received excellent treatment from that team). So. I visited the Good Guys in Moonah following the poor reception I received at HN. Remarkable the difference at the Good Guys. Yes I had to buy a new electric knife, but the difference in my treatment as a customer was outstanding by comparison. Clearly Harvey Norman are making a killing in their business at the moment and customers such as I just don't count. In future I know where my money will be spent.

I visited Harvey Norman Murray Street Hobart yesterday to get a replacement IPhone. The experience was excellent. I was assisted by a lady salesperson (Poonam Mishra). She explained the options available to me and guided me according to my budget and circumstances. You got to expect a sales person who will always like to make a better sale at the end of the day. But Poonam was not pushy . She arranged for the cancelling of the old contract and all the new paperwork in no time. She then arranged for the Tech staff by the name of Manjil to take over, get all my old data from ICloud, install new Trend Mobile security on my new phone as well as on my wife’s phone at no extra cost. Manjil was a very quiet unassuming guy had a lot of knowledge and patience with me in installing everything that took more than 5hours. Finally my phone was ready at about 5pm. What a great effort by the two sales persons Poonam and Manjil. Thank you very much for the excellent service and Thankyou Harvey Norman, Murray Street Hobart where I have always had excellent service.

Absolutely disgusting after sale service. The slogan "shop with confidence" does not apply after you have purchased an item. After troubleshooting a major fault with a laptop I had purchased from them I was told I wont be able to receive a refund straight away, Insisting that the laptop must go through their repair process. I had not heard anything after a week and called to find out the status of the refund, I was advised that they would call me back. 24 hours later still not hearing back I called again first to be told that it's on it's way back to the store but they could not tell me any more. After I asked for more info I was advised that it was ion its way back to the supplier. After their service center could not fix the issue it was sent to the manufacturer for repair and told me that it would be another 7 days before they will receive the product. this will take me up to nearly 3 weeks without a computer, I believe this is a unreasonable timeframe with out a computer especially since I asked for a refund.

Husband and I recently visited Harvey Norman in Hobart during their blackout sale to look at TV's. Initially we went in on Saturday 6th/10 and spoke to a store salesman by the name of David Howe to find out more about the various brands and how they compared with each other. David must have spent nearly an hour with us on Saturday and again today Sunday 7/10 going through answering all our questions and offering his advice. Not once did we feel pressured to buy. This young man is a shining example of how retail staff should be. He had great knowledge of each TV and what they could and couldn't offer. He was most pleasant to talk too. Thanks Harvey Norman - Yes we did end up purchasing a TV all thanks to David's patience and the time he took to ensure we got the tv we were looking for. Thank You David. S & D Cooke

Terrible service from Damien today. Covering up an expensive mistake made by his staff Will and Karen who’s names he offered to throw under the bus. (not requesting payment for $2699.00 )for computers. My assumption was that it was paid when arranged prior on the phone by my husband. A statement was mailed with no information. I was blamed for my poor communication with my husband and I should of paid. I was told that the video footage was reviewed and the next step would be to go down the road of debt recovery I questioned his manner and terrible service to which he answered “Well I can apologise if you like? On behalf of everyone” But I need to speak with your husband. Harvey Norman. Terrible, terrible service.

Usually I 'm happy shopping ar Harvey Norman. I bought a Lenovo Yoga laptop. The touchpad stopped working within minutes of my setting it up. Took it back and they kept it overnight to reset it. They said it was fixed. But the touchpad still only works intermittantly. They are refusing to give me a refund. They say they have to establish whether it's a hardware or software issue. No refund if it's software. I don't care what the cause is, it doesn't work and I want a refund. Many people are having the same issue and ate expressing it on the Lenovo forum. But Harvey Norman is making me take a laptop that they have been tinkering with, instead of giving me a refund.

Thanks Team as always, I love buying from Harvey Norman, I even made the mistake of looking at the opposition first and was very disappointed with their products and customer service. I walked straight in and knew what I wanted, I saw an outdoor setting out front and Wayne walked with me and I decided there and then that I wanted it, he arranged delivery the following morning and I paid for it on the spot. Great delivery guys too, as I wasn't home they followed my instructions. Great service and products and this is why I continue to shop with Harvey Norman.

Today at H/N Hobart I was put through the wringer, I had purchased a Sunbeam Coffee Machine earlier in the week, (not cheap)after using it I wasn't happy with the creme that it (didn't) produce, this was after trying different methods and beans. They didn't believe me so had to wait while they tested it. The creme that was produced was watery and unacceptable, the sales girl said it was acceptable. I had to really fight to get my money returned. Won't be buying anything else at H/N HOBART. No customer service now, not like it used to be. Shame on you H/N

Had an issue with a stove that was bought from the Murray St Store and covered by Product Care with an extended warranty/replacement. The insurers agreed to replace the stove, so went to the store to organise the replacement, and were assisted by a very helpful salesman, Chami. His patience and help with contacting the insurers, sorting out exactly what was covered, delivery, connection of the new one and removal of the old one was fantastic. One and a half hours and numerous phone calls later (waiting in queues) and it was all sorted.

I have just moved to NEWTOWN and have furnished it with Harvey Norman. All electrical from Tele to kettle with so much help from RACHAEL. All my furniture inside and out with so much help and advise from RACHEL the items that had to be ordered I was kept informed of the whereabouts and delivery, without all the support I am getting I don’t think my move would be as enjoyable. Also the delivery men they are cheerful helpful and well just nice. No amount of stars can rate how good the staff at HARVEY NORMAN HOBART CITY ARE.

I have been dealing with several helpful people in the TV department including Matt and Jacob both providing time so I can match a TV to suit my needs now and down the track. I spoke to Matt recently to touch base about my order and some other details, I honestly had the best experience with Matt, he was so professional it really made my experience with the store exceptional. Best place to buy a TV don't go anywhere else. Great competitive prices and excellent customer service, what more do you need!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Just really good fundamentals of customer service. Made sure I got the right product after returning something that hadn't been quite right for what we needed. Went on a Saturday morning. Got asked if I needed help every 2 meters I walked in the store. Sometimes the same sales person asking me 3 times. When I told them I have been asked so many times and its getting really annoying, I got told they just doing their job. I understand, but seriously ... once is enough. I was going to buy a fridge there, but just left and went to another Harvey Norman with less sales people, was allot more pleasant.

Very disappointed, we went in to look at an ipod salesperson came up asked can he help, said we were looking at an ipod showed us the one we were interested in all went well very helpful, then I said we wanted to have a look around first, he immediately turned around and just walked away ,he just wanted interested in us anymore. The lady who attended me was far and away the rudest most condescending and nasty person whom I've ever endured in a Harvey Norman store. Attitude and demeanor both at 0. Even with their great sale price on the mac book I quiety and politely told her I'd rather buy anywhere else on earth but here. Questions were answered with sarcasm and rudeness she literally argued with me in the store very disappointing :(

I had this wonderful person Ashley helping me out to decide for Iphone where he has shown the most professional and helpful way to the customer service. He is an asset to their business I must say. I have ended up making a phone plan, buying an iphone and Ear pods pro. He was genuinely trying out to help so I can get a better deal. I ‘ll definitely visit again and ask for his presence again.

Very helpful staff! Although the item I wanted wasn't in stock or even in Tasmania, the gentleman told me how to have one delivered from interstate. I was also looking for an air conditioner. The salesman arranged a contact with an installer, who rang me within an hour to make an appointment for later in the week. Most satisfactory all around, and parking right in front of the shop!

The lady at the TV department (tall with long hair, forgot to get her name!) was extremely helpful when we were there about a month back. Told lounge would be delivered in December and then get phone call its in USA. Received 21st January so ask for free scotchguarded and no they couldn't get that plus you's are 3 times the price as got tins for $10 @ bunnings. Pays to shop around for things as I have family that wouldn't shop at your store. Oh and need biro's that work as staff couldn't get one to work

3 staff members were standing directly out the front of the store smoking. I could smell the cigarette smoke before i saw them , there was a plume of smoke wafting around them, all of them wearing their uniforms and name tags. This is a very unprofessional look , Harvey Norman needs to change their policy in regard to staff members smoking in front of customers.

It's overpriced; inadequately staffed so it's almost impossible to get someone's attention and if you do they don't know about what you are interested in and try to upsell something different. I prefer the Moonah or Cambridge Park stores and so I go there for big purchases like white goods & electronics.

Wouldn’t recommend, had them back so many times to re stretch carpet. Layers have said there was a problem with it. Should have been replaced but no just kept stretching until it can’t be stretched anymore. Wooden floor was so damaged when laid and again I was told it’s natural wood it will have faults. My partner was trying to print photos at the photo centre several days ago and found the man on the desk very rude and unhelpful. The wifi kept dropping out while trying to use the app and when asking for help she was made to feel like an idiot. She found the overall experience very unpleasant, would not recommend them for printing photos.

I went there to have a look a new laptop for my girlfriend. The staff was super kind and friendly. He explained what advantage the Microsoft surface laptop4 had very thoroughly and I purchased it via Harvey Norman online shop as the 15inch laptop of that model in the store was all sold out. Good range of stuff but it is annoying that none of the marked prices are actually the prices of stuff. I always need to find a staff member who can give me the price.
