"In my humble opinion Winn-Dixie was way better than Harvey's the store seems a little bit cleaner then Winn-Dixie used to be, but the checkout was horrible it's like the cashiers don't know what they are doing they don't have enough people there all the lines was 10 to 15 people deep it took forever to get checked out"
"I love shopping at Harveys but dont like that they locked the doors an hour before closing time and a person at the existing doors will have to let you in if he or she is paying attention to you to do"
"I have been a customer here since I was a kid"
If I could give this store 0 stars I would!!!! I have been shopping here two years and have created relationships with many of the staff that have been there. Yesterday I asked if they could save me some boxes as I am moving. I went in today to get those boxes and patiently waited for 5 minutes at customer service to ask for them. I was "helped" by what seemed to be a new manager that asked me for the name of the person that I asked to save boxes for me. I said I was not sure as I had never seen her before and she responded with "I wasn't advised to save any boxes for some white girl"!!!!! Listen I get it this day in age what is going on but are you serious!!!! I didn't get this persons name because I was so taken back by the disrespect and unprofessional manner of this woman. I treat everyone with respect and understanding but this...should NOT BE SAID!!!
Harvey's is supposed to be one of the cheaper grocery stores to shop at. When they first started popping up I shopped there and it seemed like I saved a good bit of money. Then I went there several months later and it was prices similar to winn Dixie (the most expensive place to shop for groceries next to publix) but their products are of lesser quality. If you are looking to save money.....buy meats at Rowes/IGA and buy everything else from walmart. That has, for me, been the most cost efficient way to shop for groceries. No one can hold a candle to Rowes prices on meat and baked goods, you can easily get double what you would get anywhere else for likely less cost then anywhere else. However, they don't have the best prices for non perishables, or foods in the frozen section. For stuff like that, no one can really beat walmart!
In my humble opinion Winn-Dixie was way better than Harvey's the store seems a little bit cleaner then Winn-Dixie used to be, but the checkout was horrible it's like the cashiers don't know what they are doing they don't have enough people there all the lines was 10 to 15 people deep it took forever to get checked out. There coin change machine that changes coins into Dollars has been broken for over 3 months overall not real good. Several of the items that I bought were out a date and I found some mold on some of the items that I bought, didn't even waste the time to take it back I just threw it away. The main thing was the prices weren't any better than any of the other stores. I'd recommend going to Rowes or Publix, or Walmart, Even Save-A-Lot is better! I miss Albertsons!!!!
I love shopping at Harveys but dont like that they locked the doors an hour before closing time and a person at the existing doors will have to let you in if he or she is paying attention to you to do. I, my children, and other customers stood outside the store for at least 10 min until one of the young cashiers got the attention of the person by the door to let us in. That was unacceptable. But I had to get the things that I needed. Business hours clearly states they were open. We stood there questioning if they were closed. That was not safe for outside customers nor inside customers. It was a safety issue for me. Wow. This store location is at the corner of Moncrief and Soutel rd. Not a great area.
I have been a customer here since I was a kid. My mom worked here when I was young and this place motivated me to give it my all in the work place. The times have changed but the staff there is so amazing . I just want to say thank you to the staff and mangers in the pharmacy they are the best. The prices at this store are great and so is the quality of food, be it from the deli, or cakes from the bakery, don't forget the Hawaiian rolls second shelf to the left, or just down aisle, make sure you check out the seafood section where it's cold but pleasant and the sodas always on sell. Spend a few bucks with our local Harvey's Supermarket where the prices are GREAT
Maybe it's because it was they're first year there as Harveys, but please bring back the Dr. Robert C. Brown annual celebration which includes a celebration of Dr. Robert C Brown life, what he did for the people in the community, and friend and family day. On this day health screenings was offered, other physicians volunteered help with physicals for students who play or wanted to play sports that parents / grandparents can't afford to pay to have. Also, a back to school drive at the same time. I will be more than happy to do more than I can to help make this happen. When I was a single parent, working, this back to school drive helped me.
Customer service from the employees needs a drastic improvement! The store itself is clean and has nearly all the items I want. However, it would be nice if at least one of the cashiers said hello and thank you. 6/20/23- the same horrible customer service from the cashiers still exists. However, it seems that the employees and the other sections of the store have better customer service skills. You would think, though, that the people taking our hard-earned money at the front, should offer the best customer service, but they don't... Sad.
This particular store keeps allowing organizations to set up in front of their exit. They're asking for donations. This happens too frequently. It's offensive to be asked so often for your money. If you have extra, then you feel you have to donate it. And many times I have donated. If you don't have extra, then you may feel a little guilty for not being able to help. I just feel that there are more appropriate venues for this type of fund raising. Churches, parks or what have you but not a grocery store sidewalk at the exit.
Approximately 30 to 40 people standing in one line to be checked out. There was No other lines opened . Their meat stock was very low of having anything out there. It's not really a friendly place to be , not any good customer service there. And the security guy sitting down and laughed at me when i asked if i could speak to a manager so i could see if they would open up another line to check people out. Plus , the other day when i was there the security guy let a man into the store wearing a huge knife on his side.
Prices expensive. But I give it 5 because the staff are so sweet: even to the young man picking up the carts from the front of the store. The store is always clean but there are homless people outside asking for money. Reason why I took a star off. I would not recommend here for a tourist to purchase food. Organized to Jacksonville standards not to a person with OCD standard lol. Always stocked with food. Laundry soaps and bag prices are the same as Walmart. So I do love that it's convenient.
Tim is as lazy as they come. It’s 9:15pm, two registers open with more than 5 ppl on each line. I go to customer service station where Tim the manager was sitting, and I asked him if there was any more ppl to assist us...he then comes out looking confused asking about the other workers before he starts to bag the groceries for the cashier. Smh the only hard worker there consistently is the older woman with the dreads. She’s amazing. I’ll find her name and write another review
Went here last Night to get my Dinner. This was the WORST $5.98 that I ever spent! The chicken was so dry and was stuck to the paper liner. I Love Chicken but nothing would give it no kind of flavor. I think I'm going to call the office about this Chicken because it wasn't even fit for a DOG! To spend money on it to,! The person that put this in the box should be made eat it themselves for free!!!! I had to pay for a lesson well taught 5250 Moncrief Rd # 1692
HARVEYS IS A GR8 PLACE TO SHOP. ATTENTIVE, HELPFULL & KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF. GR8 SALES ON ITEMS. PRICES ARE REASONABLE. DELI MAKES GREAT SANDWICHES. ROASTED CHICKEN AND FRIED CHICKEN AMONGST THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS. COMPETITIVE PRICING. CLEAN AND STOCKED. VERY SECURE PLACE TO SHOP. ARMED SECURITY ON PATROL OUTSIDE AND INSIDE. CASHIERS ARE FRIENDLY & KNOWLEDGABLE. CLEAN RESTROOMS. WORTH THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.
I stopped to get some snacks and something to drink like water and tea. I saw some stuff dressing, Turkey gravy, green bean casserole, broccoli rice and cheese, sweet potato or squash the only thing missing was the Turkey. I question myself if we were in November. Talk about how time flies. I almost did a walletcide knowing I only needed what was in the cart. If it's still there I will be back.
Harveys Super Market has generally the standard food found in a Super Market but falls short on upscaled items in the meat and produce department in terms of presentation and freshness. This is in comparison to Publix Supermarkets. The stores customer service accomodations varry from poor to fair depending on the store. Harveys dose not appear to be interested in attracting an upscaled clientele
horrible that customer service nor pharmacy answers their phone. how can you as a business just allow the phone to ring and ring and ring and ring. Customer service is understandable, how pharmacy doesn't answer when they are dealing with people's medications is mind boggling. i have been on the phone for over 15 minutes trying to call in a prescription and the phone just rings.
Too many beggars in the parking lot... There was security present, who did not even enforce the "no solicitation" law. Couldn't even get out or into my car without hearing a sob story!! We all have problems at some time or another, but if you are a regular, just out begging instead of seeking program funded support, I cannot help you. I'm not going back there anytime soon!!
Hate this place. They never have items priced right. There is always one maybe two lines open that are long as I dont know what why workers walk around like their working lol. Then they have the nerve to get mad when your mad you've been in line for 10 minutes and still have someone it front of you. There are never any buggies in the store so grab one on the way in lol.
They need jso in the parking lot even though I had to bag my own groceries I continued to go because it was closer than others to my house. Me and my son went today and I didn't even make it out of my vehicle without some guy yelling at me telling me I didn't want none and screaming racial slurs at me. All I was doing was looking for a parking spot. Never going back
The prices are too high to be in the poorer neighborhoods..I saw a box of salt priced at $2.00(Moncrief & Soutel) The meat is not the best quality of cut..I no longer patronize them..I encourage customers to please check the dates on items that you purchase..I purchased some Keebler crackers from there that were outdated..took them back and got a refund.
Not a good place to work or shop. The prices are ridiculously high. They don't even have good groceries. The cashiers are never at the registers and when they are they work too slow. The break room is disgusting and the managers take forever to send you to break and count your drawer when it's time to go. I've always hated Harvey's.
The store was very clean and it was easy to find what I was looking for. However, the new cashier didn't quite understand that one person could make two different transactions. Also, for some reason another employee just stood at the bags without bagging the groceries. Pretty awkward. Hopefully the staff will get better training.
Went in for a money order only one person in front of me, when they left I waited for 15 mins before one of the two cashiers even made eye contact or acknowledge my presence. When I told the first one what I wanted she informed me that it was change of shift and I had to wait another 15 mins for the other cashier help me.
I went to purchase a bag of ice. Ask where was the restroom which was in the back. The bathroom was so nasty, push was on the floor, Tampon was on the toilet, toilet will not flush do to paper towels being use because there was no tissue. Talk to a cashier about it and she said it had been like that all day. Just nasty
Stocked nicely. Some decent deals but there are always long lines. Usually only a couple registers open and the homeless are always outside ready to beg you for the entire walk to your car for money. The security inside is usually just sitting down playing with his phone. Not a place your women can visit after dark.
The store had more cashiers on duty this morning and it was my first time going there. Usually I go to the one off of Avenue B and Edgewood, but today I saved $20 in groceries! They even had bread unlike Walmart on Normandy or Save a lot on Edgewood. I'm from NY. I have to get better service than this.
This one has very nice staff but it seems like the store needs some help like a remodel or somthing ..it's annoying to always have to turn down the people that's outside selling items. ..also I wish the produce section was better. .it's the closest location to my home or I'd just shop somwhere else.
Nice place to shop for groceries and deli meals. Easy access and safe parking environment. Police law enforcement officers are on site and very visible. Management staff are every helpful and pleasant to talk to. Check out was smooth and fast. No lines. No waiting. Hassle free experience.
Well stocked and very clean. I have only one complaint, which is when a 89 year old woman who has been a loyal customer needed assistance with a carry out ,there was no one to help her. Thank God for another male customer who assisted us. Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star review.
What i find funny is every time i come in this store God for bid the customer service desk is ever open. Always saying were closed. It can be at 11 pm or even 6 pm and these people will not want to do their job. Id rather drive all the way to the Southside then deal with these people.
Really had not a first experience. We had a void it took the manager 22 mins to help us also but it was a great time with AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CASHIER SHE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND ALSO HAD THE PATIENCE WITH US. HER NAME IS TERRIANN EXCELLENT AND SHE DID COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SITUATION.
Place is ok to shop deals, but needs more cashiers , and faster cashiers, during rush hour and on the weekends. They move at a snails place, and I don't want to wait 45 min in line to check out a few items. The customer service line for getting money order, is even slower.
Generally get through lines quick, most lanes open. Customer services even helps try to keep lines down. Prescription ready when they say it will be, they also go beyond informing about the medications without having to ask. Everythings usually stocked well and clean.
I always said I wouldn't shop here. But decided to go because it's closest to my house I did anyway. Not only did I get rotten avocado for $2... But molded soft taco shells. Unbelievable, taco night for my children was ruined. thanks Harvey's. You're the worst!
I LOVE the store and the staff and management are so polite there. I go there literally all the time and I ALWAYS enjoy doing so. One of the managers Mrs. Marilynn is so stinking sweet and amazing and she ALWAYS makes my visit there so much more pleasant.
I love Harvey's, but I hate the fact they started charging their customers to use the baskets. They're in a neighborhood where cash is short yet they're having customers to place a quarter into a slot in order to use the basket. Utterly unnecessary!!!
It was quite interesting to see they have started using locks on the shopping carts. . You'll need to obtain a token to use them. Wow, Really? ! They weren't charging as of yet, but you'll need a quarter in the future to deposit for a token. SMH
I will NEVER shop here again! The lines are ALWAYS super long to have 7-9 check out registers but only two were open today. I was told to go to lane 3 that was just being opened. ♀️ Big mistake I’m the first person in line the cashier
I shop at Harveys occasionally just because it's the nearest super market in my neighborhood. But, I find it to be a little misleading price wise. Some items are priced very economical and others tend to be in my opinion a little pricey.
i use this store in the neighborhood. I BELIEVE I made the original post when they first opened the store so it was very nice clean he had a lot of sales and all that going on for ever since covid and they left the band or whatever the
Whenever I’m in Jacksonville I can expect my mom to send me here for one thing or another. The lines were crazy long as most were stocking up on items preparing for a storm. I’m always going to see a familiar face when I drop in. …
They have A Lots of Everything /Deli / they are great every thing is Excellent love they Cakes All Kind Chicken Is Excellent food Drinks Excellent Excellent excellent service excellent staff …
I love shopping at Harveys every chance I get they always have great buys on chicken when it's $0.49 a pound they have a great Buy on bacon the thick slice 2 for $20 and other specials plus I really down home great bunch of people
There's a uneasiness feeling as if there about to be a gange shooting at anything. The whole store smelled of Maryjane. But the cashier's were polite and the store was clean. But I would recommend going before the sun goes down.
Great super market with a lot of sales and bargains. The deli is nice and has a chicken wing bar that has some tasty foods. There are also a few isles of dollar buys as well that include snacks, drinks and household items.
This particular one just seemed a bit run down and the employees just seemed over worked. I didn't get good vibes here at all. It was convenient to where I was at the time but just seemed like a medium grade food store.
The selection is extremely limited. The meats and produce are subpar. I'd suggest going elsewhere if possible. Harvey's is a downgrade from Winn-Dixie; it's sad how they treat predominantly black neighborhoods.
This neighborhood grocery store is clean, and it has good grocery prices. The employees are professional. It is a pleasure to be able to support local businesses who support communities in under served areas.
I only go here sometimes. I don't like shopping there at all. It just seem different from Winn Dixie. It seems like it's for the less fortunate. The way they have it looking on the inside of the store.
Price of some items are a bit higher than other grocery stores and I don't like going there because of the people that's hanging around there begging for money or trying to sell you something …
Worst customer service in tge ciyy of Duval. The managers and cashiers needs major customer service training. I asked for the manger the cashier said what for the problem is between her and i.
I shop here at Harvey's all the time this is where I received my medication the pharmacists are very nice courteous the cashiers they're getting better with smiling and greeting the customers
Vagrants all over parking lot and even next to the door. One woman was half undressed sitting on the sidewalk and absolutely nothing was done about it. No way would I ever go there again
Loved their bogo the way to save and they have alot of markdowns that's worth it markdowns be like anywhere from50-90% off markdowns are just about on every aisle love it going tomorrow
A little bizarre. Kind of like the save a lot branch of Winn Dixie's. You find some quality but then you wonder into no quality stale product. Its hit or miss. Only go if desperate.
On some sale items their prices are okay. But I do believe that most items are overpriced at their regular prices. Walmart is still my go-to only go to Harvey's for convenience.
I’m glad this store is still around, even with the price of everything going up. Their prices (to me) are still affordable and the quality of their produce is always on point.
Not the best location however I was able to find collard greens but no turkey legs and I went after Thanksgiving. A bit disappointing but there were turkey wings in stock.
Lots to select from. Clean with friendly cashiers. Hopefully you won't need help getting things to your car as the baggers weren't so willing to help without being asked.
Great people and friendly willing to help you with anything you may need also write down to if you're disabled asked or they will see and ask you can they help you
Not a friendly atmosphere, handicap, scooters rarely are charged. I stopped going there a long time ago, and the cashiers not friendly at all not all, but most.
The lines were the longest ever. Only two lines were available it was really ridiculous on a holiday at that. The 4th of July. Knowingly it would be very busy.
They never on time in customer service department it’s 9:14 October 27th 2023 and they not open when they open at 9am I was told it’s not opening til 10am smh
Excellent manger..she had them to get my 4 cases of water...take all my things to the car..the cashier was very nice young and helpful....Thank you Harveys
Clean & polite cashier, aisles are clean, a lot of deals ,meat prices were reasonable and the meat looks good ,a lot of workers on the floor overall great
Not my favorite place to buy groceries. I run into Harvey's every now and then when I need to make a quick stop for a few things. A little overpriced.
Love Harvey's Supermarket here in Duval Wish we had a Piggly Wiggly. This also is an awesome store. If Duval had these store's. What a blessing for us
The new front line supervisor, young lady needs to work on her customer service. Ms. Marilyn was awesome and a few others but... work on it please.
Very nice staff, the deals are great. Would be nice to have more lines open a quick stop generally takes about 15+ minutes because of lines.
You should try their brand of soft drinks. Several different flavors, no sugar, no calories, no caffeine, just a great taste and quenching.
Well stocked and clean. Friendly staff that's very helpful. I come here often to shop and so addicted to the Cajun seafood salad …
Love to shop there. The have a plenty card which gives back. You can earn points with every purchase which you can use toward grocery.
I go here only as a last resort. They're ok. But if you have to buy cheap, go somewhere else. Their SE brand isn't very good at all
The store was really organized and the staff were friendly and respectful, asked if we needed help and also the music was peaceful.
My shopping experience was just like all of the others visit I have since the store open I went in did my shopping. as I always do.
Security guard was weird and the clerk named Ar'mani was nice but was texting during my transaction. Otherwise everything was good
Not a good place to shop! Very poor establishment. Poor customer service. Unattractive conditions. Unclean. Sun-level food.
I'm so pleased with this store. They run fantastic sales each week and work with the Plenti Rewards card for extra savings.
I usually have a nice experience. Today (11/5/19) the shelves were bare and I did not come out with what I went in for.
Amazingly quick & efficient friendly staff at the customer service counter every time I come into the store...
Was out of 3 of the 5 things I came for. Store was clean overall and employees were friendly and efficient.
I been coming here for over a decade and I never got bad service fair prices and the employees are friendly
I love Harvey's because it's that place you can go to find those rare things everyone else doesn't have.
Went in b4 bad weather hit to get sandwich meat..& bread..fruit.. And ground beef.price was great..
it has reasonable prices but the employees hav e a lot of attitude. an u haven to pay to use a cart
I love going to the store it's the people are super nice and they help you in any way they can
This is a dangerous place. Unfortunately, I'm forced to shop there now because of gas prices.
Always pleasant visit the best cashiers in town mrs.Marilyn dont play she Keep them stright.
Bargains, Bargains, Bargains although more workers is needed, All were helpful and courteous
Great, I can't remember the last time I shopped in a store with brand new shopping cart
Good prices. Don't worry about carrying them cards, they got one to scan for you.
Bright, clean, organized, friendly and smiling staff. Enjoyed, my experience.
Great store. Very clean and the staff is very helpful. Prices are not bad.
Dirty store and expensive items if you can find what you are looking for.
Awesome store, staff and prices. You can't go wrong when you shop there!
Bathroom is not clean at all Asparagus are very old It's very unclean
I love Harveys they always have deals and their grapes are delicious
Pleasant visit every time I shop here, friendly & helpful staff!
Always a few minutes away for my last minute shopping needs
My favorite store. Employees are super friendly and helpful
