Not impressed at all by them, their pricing is a little on the lumpy side. Would love to elaborate. I had a conversation with one of your workers over the phone and was quoted a rough estimate for front break change around £25-£30 fitted. I dropped the bike off Tuesday afternoon and was told that that it would be looked at on Friday. I called 9:00 Saturday morning to be told that the bike was the 1st to be seen and I would receive a callback letting me know the outcome. I received a call at 5:08 Saturday afternoon telling me the cassette looked worn and possibly needed replacing, they were changed less than a year ago by yourselves and my 11 year old has not even done 20 miles on it since. I was given two options, a full service for £130 or to replace the brakes £65 and that the work would be carried out on Monday. ( far cry from the original quote). Monday morning I decided to cancel and upon collecting the bike I was greeted with a £15 charge for what I can only describe as looking at the bike, at no point was I told that there would be a charge for this. I could understand if it was a bike with disc brakes and fancy bells and whistles but it’s a regular Childs bike. Reply. Like I said earlier I was NOT told or informed by yourself or anyone of the fee. There is no need for me to go to the website as I know where your shop is and can communicate direct (hence the initial phone call). If I’m wrong please put the nail in the coffin and publish the signature.

Expert friendly polite service by a family run team of cycling fanatics, they know their stuff, the service is quick, they phoned me to talk about potential problems and solutions and there was no hard sell, just professional honesty, I was advised on several different issues consisting of 30 minutes of their valuable time, they don't do inferior quality cheap parts but they're still much cheaper than the major shops. I took my bike in as a worn out wreck, it came out like NEW, I'm going to phone them and ask them HOW they got my bike so clean ? it looks like they have actually buffed and polished the WHOLE bike ! Heales cater for the entire family. I can cycle from Liverpool Street to their shop in 30 minutes and no hills ! ! It's a relief to know that the traditional family run shop offering generations of organic expert help is still to be found in London, some things in life are just priceless, Dennis and Ashley love bicycles, it's as simple as that !

This is my LBS so going to be biased but this place really is the best, staff go out of there way to help you and even find ways of making it cheaper. Also help you out by giving advice on what bits the bike could do with (not profiteering, just bike chat about stuff online etc).If I'd have done what most people do and took my road bike to Halfords it would have cost over £150 for bad workmanship and a bodge job, took it here and it cost under half of that, even tightened up my brakes and rejigged my gears for nothing. Perfect example of the kind of shop this is. Seems family run as well, I'd much rather give my money to people who care about bikes than a 16 year old college kid who couldn't give a monkeys down at Halfords or Evans. Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor and get down there, you won't regret it!

I went there yesterday to buy a lock. Before going, I had read the reviews and usually like to give my money to people that will be spending it in their community. Thus this is the perfect place. They had a great assortment of locks with different security numbers applied to each. Because I bought the bike for £40, I went with a #7 security which was £24. The nice thing was that the guy came out and tightened my saddle for me for free. Then comes the crazy part. I rode away, about 5 blocks away my chain broke. Did I mention the bike was only £40. So I went back and he put it back with a new link and only charged me £1. The grease on the chain that came off on his hands seemed would have costs £5. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs some biking assistance. Job well done.

Very poor service. Total (and inexplicable) communication breakdown followed by multiple assurances of call backs that didn't occur. After over a week in the shop they still hadn't ordered the necessary parts. I ended up having to go in and take my bike back (without any work being done on it). Upon collection I was told that I'd be better off with a new bike due to wear. This is nonsense, the bike simply needs what I asked them to do. They used the example of worn disks, which is strange as one of them is new and the other is absolutely fine! It's a shame as they seem nice enough and have been fine in the past, but with such basic customer service failings and questionable advice I doubt I'll be going back.

Picked up my new bike on Saturday from Heales. James brought the bike out and took the time to talk me through the bike in general. Our family have bought several bikes from Heales over the years and also had them serviced/fixed by them. Stock has been an issue for all bike shops over lockdown but these guys have adapted to the the current normal, being agile enough to up their servicing and repairs to pick up the slack, whilst still managing to secure new stock. This means this great business will still be firing on all cylinders once we are through the madness. Well done to James and the team, your level of customer service really is appreciated. Kieran

I first used Heales over 15 years ago, and I remember my surprise when they didn't charge me for labour on a quick mechanical job that would've cost elsewhere. I've been taking my mountain, road, gravel bikes, even Bromptons back ever since. They stock solid products too - I know to trust anything I find at Heales. The staff are very knowledgeable, polite and will always give you their time to help you get back on the road. I've been to many different bike shops across London via my commutes, and some won't assist with minor/emergency issues without a booking and staff are unhelpful. Heales are the complete opposite.

Broke a cleat running errands in the area. Had to seek out the local bike shop for a replacement. Wasn't expecting much. Let me sit in the shop in socks while I sorted my shoes, gave me non-profiteering advice about other bits to buy for the bike, twice showed me how to do it properly when he spotted me bodging my bike maintenance, pumped up my tires, let me use tools with goodwill and let me into the workshop to scrub my greasy hands at the end. Knowledge, integrity and helpfulness. Heading over for a service next week. Live at the end of the northern line...

An old fashion bike shop that reminds me of my teenage years (in fact I shopped here when I was a teenager!). The staff are very, very helpful (Atas even went looking for a tape measure to give me the dimensions of a bike to see if it would fit in my garden enclosure!) Such a shame Halfords rude, ignorant staff don't learn from Heales example! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone for anything related to cycling. 10/10 they also have a group to join for cyclops meet ups on Saturday mornings....I really can't say enough good things about this shop.

  • Zuhir Khan

Outstanding customer care! Mark at Heales Cycles saved my day! I had a blown tubeless tyre and was 55 miles away from home. I called Heales Cycles as it was the closest bike shop to my location. Mark and the team at Heales could not have been more welcoming, offered to look at my puncture, provide a solution and get me on my way. I could not be more grateful. Bearing in mind I arrived 15 minutes before closing on a Saturday. It is hard to come by acts of genuine kindness and would like to thank Mark and the team for getting me home safely! Thank you!

Friendly local and engaging bike shop. They cater for all shapes, sizes and types of riders be it from brand new and right through to the well seasoned commited weekend rider to the semi amatures and the like. They offer fantastic aftercare and service and unlike high street stores you are not just another sale you do matter to them and your face will be remembered. This is a professional bike shop and you will get a great experience no matter weather its a small or big sale. Weekend rides and local knowledge very good.

  • Steve Bunting

This is my local bike shop and I am happy to give a 5 star review. Prices are keen, but not rock bottom as you see on line sometimes. However, there is a great selection of quality products, not ebay Chinese knock offs and as others have said the service stands out a mile. For me, supporting a local business and the fantastic service are worth the extra few pounds I have spent there. After all, you only need to buy one duff thing online and you are worse off overall. Heartily recommended.

  • MAX CHESHIRE

One of the best bike shops in London!! They have some brilliant brands, and such a great range for every riding need. They have seriously sorted me out in the past with have great bike servicing and customer care. They are great to chat to and know what’s up in the bike industry latest bikes, and what will fit you. Recently bought an orange stage 6 evo and I a misfit in the mountain bike world and they have helped me find the perfect bike and have no complaints.

  • Johan Myburgh

I immigrated last year from South Africa and was looking for a shop and group of people I can ride and connect with. I found it at Heales. Great shop, great community of riders and some of the best advice regarding cycling you can find. Bought my bike there and will keep going back in the future. They organise rides all over the place and often ride through Epping forest but also city rides through London. Highly recommended

  • saron feitosa

OVERPRICED took my little one's bike to put it together and was NOT told the price of the service. The guy said £15 pounds. He took the time to call me to say the job was late but did not say the job was going to be £75, It would have being nice to have the option to choose to pay or not. Really upsetting as that is not professional. If you choose that shop please make sure the person who helps you is CLEAR about PAYMENT!

  • Nicolaas Mayer

Great local bike shop James and his team are always very helpful, professional with fantastic knowledge on which bikes, parts, protective clothing will suit you best and at what cost. They will do their best ordering items in for you, in a good time frame if not in stock. I've never left the shop disappointed and will always support a local business. Thank you Heales Cycles will pop in again very soon. Nico

  • Pete Gray

These guys know their bikes. They know them very well. Great customer service though sometimes I feel like I'm a total amateur in comparison to what they know. The shop is a great place to have your bike serviced. It isn't cheap but you get something which feels like new. And I mean new. I go when I can afford it. If you love your bike and you want to make it feel love by you, this is where to come!

  • Stephen Kakouris

If you are living in or near London and looking for a Mountain Bike, I cannot recommend a better shop. I called up one day looking to see if they had any stock, James told me he would help and a week later found me the perfect bike that I was looking for. When I picked it up, the team at the shop were friendly and helpful and new their stuff inside out. I am a very happy Customer! Thanks guys :)

  • Daniel Heath

The Heales lot have helped me out massively getting back into mountain biking. They have been able to give excellent advice on what is needed and have helped me to maintain my bike this year. They are super friendly and do an amazing job on anything I bring to them to fix! Also: an amazing selection of shiny stuff! Their ride outs are really fun and inclusive of all abilities.

  • Jamie Xavier

Took my bike here two weeks ago to fit new tyres and inner tubes which I do ever year. Used my bike on Tuesday to cycle to work and sadly got a flat called up Heales explained the situation they said bring it on Saturday. They replaced the inner tube saying flat was down to a faulty inner tube they did not charge me for labour or parts brilliant customer service

  • Helen Harvey

First class serice. Staff both friendly and knowledgable. Bought two mountain bikes from them in the last 2 weeks. If they havent got it in the shop that they can get it very fast (like the next day). Very convenient - right next to overground train station. Everything is of a 'proper' quality and they know what is suitable / compatible how to fit it for you.

  • Carlos Lopez-Real

Just been in to get some new grips/bar ends and was very happy with the service. I could have got the grips cheaper elsewhere but (a) it's good to support a genuine LBS and (b) they took the time to actually fit them for me. They also checked my positioning on the bike and adjusted the saddle. Will definitely be coming back.

  • Louis L.

Purchased a rocky c90 from heales after a sb5 yeti... A busy shop with fantastic stock and bike knowledge across the entire range. heales have taken of my bikes.....for 5yrs now, great shop with great service and customer care ethics. I will continue to promote this shop as well as use them for all my bikes service and care.

  • Sean Westlake

Great service here where the owner really takes an interest into the customers needs to find the best products Unlike other bigger shops where it feels like certain products are pushed, here is a real sense of taking the time and helping you get the best for your needs and budget. Will definitely visit again soon

  • J Z

Great friendly bike shop. Very helpful. Bought 2 frog bikes from them over the years for my little son. They organise thrilling fun bike rides on Saturdays and Thursdays in Epping Forest. Also sell hardcore mountain bikes. One shop where they place priority on customers and bikes. Not on profits. 10/10

  • Sergio Santaniello

The experience, knowledge and history of Heales Cycles is of out standing technical ability and matching a bike to the rider and your riding preferences are truly fantastic and the best I have ever found. If you are sick you go to the Doctor. If you are a bike ride you go to Heales Cycles.

  • Drew Naylor

I have bought three bikes from these chaps and use them regularly for servicing etc. They're absolutely fantastic and bend over backwards for their clients. Super knowledgeable and reliable. Love that they're my local bike shop. If I could give them more than five stars if I would.

  • paulstix1

Just returned from buying bib tights , gloves , lights & overshoes . Fantastic personal service coupled with expert advice . Had no products in mind and trusted to James ( the owner) to order the right stuff . Better than the internet any day of the week & he did me a good price .

  • Ben Walker

A brilliant bike shop. If you live in the E4/E17 areas make this your go-to place for kit, repairs and advice. James is a top guy and a proper expert on all things cycling – he is very clued up on mountain biking in particular. Great team of guys there. Excellent shop.

  • Stuart Paciej

These guys are fantastic. I was calling around trying to find quite a niche part and the guy I spoke to on the phone went above and beyond for me. I would not hesitate in recommending them and will be putting my business their way whenever possible in the future.

James and the guys specced and built me up a new set of wheels for the gravel bike and they have been fantastic! There were some delays and wrong parts sent by suppliers but communication was excellent. Highly recommended
