"Title: A Nightmare at HSC Emergency: Terrible, Rude, and Useless Staff My experience at HSC Emergency was, to say the least, incredibly disappointing and distressing"
"I had waited 8 hours to see a doctor, and they were genuinely nice and cared about what was happening to me"
"An investigation should be done immediately at this place? This is just very painful when you have to experience it for yourself and they make you feel like a 3rd class citizen and your begging for free help? This is the worst place for a sick person to come for treatment! Mora than 10 security in a small office, lots of nurses about 10/12 and staff in the waiting area and 2doctors! Some they don't care very rude and arrogant! as if they don't want to be there to serve the people! I feel we have been mistreated, let down and humiliated by the service! It heart to see our tax money is spent on this kind of service and staff!!! They need proper training or replace them by respectful and hard working people"
"I just wanna say that the nurses and doctors in the ER are some of the kindest, most compassionate and caring individuals I have ever met"
"Service is great, of course you are seen on a greatest need basis, with a critical needs assessment done by the nurses and other ER support staff"
Title: A Nightmare at HSC Emergency: Terrible, Rude, and Useless Staff My experience at HSC Emergency was, to say the least, incredibly disappointing and distressing. The staff, from the doctors to the nurses, exhibited an alarming level of unprofessionalism. Their behavior was not only rude but also neglectful, which was shocking to witness in such a critical care environment. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff. Nobody seemed to care about my pain or. Despite being in excruciating pain, I was to wait for a staggering 18 hours before receiving any of treatment. It was as if they completely disregarded the fact that I was a human in need of medical attention. I found myself in an emergency situation, and all I received from the medical staff was a total lack of care and attention. I was left waiting for an excruciating 18 hours, enduring unbearable pain, feeling as if I was not being treated as a human being. This was an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Despite the severity of my situation, the staff seemed to be underprepared and ill-equipped to handle emergencies. It was an affront to the medical profession, as the level of care left a lot to be desired. It's disheartening to say the least, considering the taxes we pay contributing to their salaries. Nurses and doctors were utterly useless. They showed a complete lack of competency and seemed to have no idea what they were doing. It's truly baffling that these individuals are being paid such high salaries, funded by our hard-earned dollars. I found it incredibly painful to witness the incompetence and lack of care displayed by the medical staff. To add insult to injury it seemed that the nurses were more interested in playing on their and watching and posting TikTok than attending to the patients. It was as if they were completely oblivious to the fact they were working in a medical facility. It left me questioning their dedication to their profession and their ability to provide proper medical care. It raised genuine concerns about their medical skills and their commitment to their profession. So if you're considering seeking medical help at HSC Emergency, I'd advise you to reconsider. I wouldn't wish this kind of experience on anyone. Your health and well-being are paramount, and from my experience, it seems you're unlikely to find the necessary care here. The staff's terrible attitudes, rudeness, neglect, and overall uselessness make it an ideal destination for those seeking a truly nightmarish medical experience. ;((
I had waited 8 hours to see a doctor, and they were genuinely nice and cared about what was happening to me. Most of the nurses were were nice and could tell that they cared. I understood that this ER is already placed in one of the toughest areas of the city and the City itself isnt really helping. But being treated poorly by one of the Triage nurses had to be the worse. A Triage Nurse got mad at me and told me to "stop faking it" when I went limp (heartbeat and breathing were fine) after I spoke of my concerns of me getting worse. Gave me a lecture about it, then told me to walk back to the waiting area after I had come there on a wheelchair after dealing with on and off violent shaking and repeated episode of going compleatly limp for the previous 6 hours. (which I was being "watched" for) Already high anxiety from all the shaking, I ended up quietly having a mental health crisis in the waiting room, while I kept waing for an additional hour before being seen.

I just wanna say that the nurses and doctors in the ER are some of the kindest, most compassionate and caring individuals I have ever met. People need to understand that this hospital is located right in the heart of one of the worst areas in the city for things like drug addiction and crime. The staff there have to put up with A LOT on a daily basis. I have personally dealt with addiction problems in the past and any time I have gone there seeking help, they've always treated me with dignity and support. I have NEVER felt judged by any of them and could honestly tell that they really care about the people they help and truly want to help.
Service is great, of course you are seen on a greatest need basis, with a critical needs assessment done by the nurses and other ER support staff. I found the staff to be knowledgeable, helpful and they always try to do their best, in an all too frequently understaffed, but well used ER facility. Once you get past the waiting room, the care is excellent and they do their best in an often packed and high pressure environment. I found though that everyone still found time to be kind, and that speaks volumes about their level of care and commitment to their patients.
Worst place ever for people who are seeking emergency care. People will just die while waiting for their chance to see the doctor. Technically the entire health care system doesn’t know the meaning of “ Emergency care “. Me myself waited for 17 hrs straight to see the doctor, can someone imagine; you are in an emergency care and waiting almost a day to see the doctor. Better take appointment a day before before you go to this facility. Mostly Staffs are so rude except couple. I don’t even want to rate single star for this facility. Waste of time.
I was recently in considerable pain. I didn't go here. They are exceptionally racist. I wouldn't come here for a broken bone. I would go to my doctor the next day or week. Such a terrible experience last time. I waited weeks in terrible abdominal pain, to see my doctor. He asked me why I did not go to the emergency. Just don't go here if you are a person of colour. Also why do security shout at patients? They shouldn't be allowed to be rude to patients.
A bit of waiting - could be annoying but consider how many people come to the door everyday. I felt I received excellent care while I was in hospital. The nurse helped us to feel comfort while waiting in the cold emergency room. Doctors are friendly, and I was well-informed about the procedures before going into the surgery. I felt secured and safe when nurses and doctors were repeatedly asking my name and birthday.
Expect a very long wait. The system was already short staffed. Aging population, brain drain, high taxes and then to add insult to injury the vaccine mandate. Only medical personnel dumb enough to take the experimental gene therapy are allowed to work there. The staff were pleasant and I knew that I would be waiting until the following morning to be seen as specialist's do not work nights and weekends.
Neglectful and absolutely the worst I've ever seen. I've never seen a call light go unanswered for about 3 hours before, until now. Spouse is on air, and having a hard time breathing. Situated in a sound proof isolation room, and they are on their phones, ignoring the call for this length of time. What happens if it goes down and she needs immediate help?
Had a 10 a.m appt. It is now 2:20 pm. We are still waiting, with no time-line. My kid needs a colonoscopy, hasn't eaten in 4 days, did all the prep for a colonoscopy, so can't have anything to eat/drink/ pain management, hasn't been able to since midnight. Yet here we sit and wait. Waiting room is gross, chairs all over the place. Just gross.
Mother in law was brought in by ambulance. Waited an hour before they even said anything. Which was nothing. Staff are doing their job the best they can. Thumbs up to them. People come in for minor things which they can go to the clinic to get checked out. They come in dirty smelling.
A nice place to go if you want to die slowly of neglect....some doctors are nice and a few nurses are okay....so many of the staff are rude they ignore you give you wrong treatment let you go when you're not better. You are better off committing suicide.
The doctors are nice, but the nurse name Tina inside emergency is so rude. She is not friendly. She will throw garbage above you after putting IV. And when you ask why there is skin bump on the hand where the IV injected, she said it was insect bites.
Spent 12 hours there Christmas day. From the greeter, triage staff, security officers, nurses, doctor and other support staff we were well looked after. Thank you for all you do during these stressful times. Merry Christmas☃️ …
Very degrading. Substandard health care. What has to happen to get medical care that is adequate for native people. Some one else has to die. Half the staff post vids on tiktok. Doing nothing, just sitting and talking.
So unnessecarily rude to me on the phone. Your job is to show compassion. Not be rude to the people who are calling about their loved ones who are dying! Someone needs to give the staff a refresher on human compassion.
Was specifically told by an HSC ER doc to come here to be examined, he even left a note with admission for me. Waited for 10 hours and was seen by a doctor who did nothing but tell me to go somewhere else
Wow…after 6 hours still nobody paying attention. Is it emergency or bad joke with patient. No need to pay more tax or charity because all money going there management pocket for family trips.
Super slow been waiting 10 hours and got bad frostbite just hope I don’t lose both my feet waiting for them when they could of seen me for like 5 mins and save my feet
One of the friendliest emergency rooms I've ever been in. They assign helpers to assist with your needs. They truly work as a team together. Thank you!
Emergency has no compassion for their patients. The medical system is broken and not about health or morality in anyway! Absolutely shameful
Poor Emergency care, Highly busy. When we went there 7.5 hrs was the waiting time. Its not Emergency care if waiting is so long.
Service are bad . I waited for 15 hrs no one attended to me. I one day God put them in my shoes and they feel my pain
A great place to go if you want to get a free hit of oxy, but a terrible place to go for actual healthcare.
I never do reviews but wow don't even bother referred me and basically told me to **** off wasted my time.
Hard working staff. That have to put up with so many problems with a smile, when it's hard to smile.
Wonderful dr staff health care aid staff housekeeping team work here kind humble helpful staff
lady told me take you mom somewhere else we can not take care of right away in emergency.
waiting was long but understandable because i wasn’t urgent care. staff was really nice
everyone is rude. Everytime i went only 2 ppl treated me like a human being.
The Air Canada of emergency rooms. Go elsewhere if at all possible.
Been waiting for 11 hrs and I am still waiting …
Nobody gives a damn, and it shows! This is not care. Awful !
Staff and security guards are very friendly
