I don't normally write reviews - in fact this is my first one ever because I feel like Hermans Auto deserves the recognition. Today was my first time visiting to Hermans Auto after asking my coworkers for a reliable mechanic - and they were right. My experience was great and I'd feel comfortable recommending them to friends and family. I brought my mom's car in to have them help diagnose and fix a clunking noise. I thought it might've been issues with the suspension and was concerned with the safety of the vehicle. It turns out that because the vehicle wasn't driven in a while, rust built up on the rotors and was scrapping against the brake pads while driving - the issue wasn't serious at all and they helped me clean off the rust. I dealt with Greg who was both personable and took the time to explain his troubleshooting process. Even though my car problem wasn't serious, I really valued his honesty - Hermans Auto is here to help their customers, not to take advantage of them. This is something that's not necessarily true for all places, and makes this business special. You've earned my business in the future! -David

Hermans Auto was THE best mechanics experience I've ever had. After the worst dealership experience of my life I looked at local shops to get a safety quickly. On the phone they were polite, detailed and accommodating which was immediately reassuring. Driving up for the appointment I had to wonder though. It's a small older shop reminiscent of the movies. It honestly didn't look like much. But it's not about the flash, and this place does one thing, work. They had everything done quickly, on schedule, on price and explained everything. I find a lot of dealerships and large garages try and make card a mystery but hermans was the opposite. They told me everything, explained it all and were really thoughtful. I'm never going back to the dealer here in Kingston unless I have to, this is where I'm going.

I can recommend Herman’s for several reasons: 1. Their quote of the front end work I needed done was provided in time and was one of the most affordable I received. They also included all items in the final amount, which made the review process straightforward for me 2. They were quick to process my work request and my vehicle was in the shop in less than a week 3. The work was done quickly and they were even able to work with things currently on my vehicle rather than replacing them, which saved me a ton of money My car drives better than it has in years and I want to thank all of the employees at Herman’s for their considerable efforts. Highly recommend their garage!

This mechanic shop is reasonably priced, and will never charge you for anything you haven't authorized. They will give you an honest diagnosis, however if you need your vehicle repaired sooner than 3 weeks from now, you should probably look elsewhere. I tried to get a diagnosis on a noise I was hearing and it turned out to be the rear differential on my truck, which is now destroyed completely, and is going to cost me a lot more money now. I guess that is the outcome when you send everyone you know to a mechanic.

I have been taking my car to Hermans Auto for the last 2 years and they do great work. They are very upfront about the cost of parts and labour and I always feel like I am being treated fairly and honestly. They can get very busy so if you need routine maintenance like and oil or tire changes, I would recommend calling a week or two ahead of time to schedule it. It will be worth the wait.

Stephen and the Herman’s auto family are professional, helpful and respectful. What you see is what you get! No hidden costs and if aint broke they don’t fix it! But if its in need of repair they let you know before they do anything. Mom always said you get what you pay for, and with Herman’s....you get the full 5 star treatment!!

The people at Hermans Auto do great work. They are quick, honest and fairly priced. I have had two repairs done with these guys and they have been great both times. They are transparent about the issues and do not suggest unnecessary work. If you don't want to be scammed by a mechanic, go to these guys!

Great service from Stephen and his staff. After trying other auto repair centres since we moved to Kingston, Herman's Auto is now my choice going forward. Recently I used Herman's twice and both times the work was done on time while the price was more than fair. Thanks Stephen.

Never had a bad experience. I feel the service is honnest, they have never tried to up sell, or convince me i needed extra work. The opposite has happened and they have saved me money.

This shop is fantastic! I have taken several different cars here over the last few years. They provide great and timely service and I never feel pressured into anything at this shop.
