After a tremendously terrible experience with the staff of Budget rental cars Dublin airport we decided to rent a car for two days with Hertz Cars. The reservation process went well and the staff was friendly. We booked a super cover to not get charged overwhelming fees in case of any incident. The first day was brilliant. A VW Golf V with a decent driver system, bluetooth connection ect. On day 2 we left Dublin for a ride outbound north for Dundalk. After just 20 KM the onboard system warned about a loss of pressure on the right rear wheel. We stopped immediately at the next gas station to check the system report. The rear wheel was flat already and so we called the emergency road assistant (as said in the brochure and t&c's). The guy on the phone told me this issue is my problem, we could call for assistence (for a charged fee of 250 Euro) or change the spare tire on my own. The fact is I know that I can change a spare tire but since it was a rental car a flat tire is an issue I believed I had to report. So they left us alone with this problem and we didnt know what and how Hertz would charge us or may help us. Eventhough nobody answered the phone of the rental station at Baggot St. Anyhow we changed the tire and moved further. After another 70 KM the system told us again that (now the front wheel) has a loss of pressure. UNBELIEVABLE! Never in almost 15 years of driving annually up to 50000 KM I had a flat tire! So we called the station again and surprisingly had someone on the phone. He told us that tyres arent covered by the SC. No one told us about that fact or even made us an offer to book an option to cover tyre issues. Again it was OUR problem. Our daytrip was completely ruined by the pressure not to know what Hertz will charge in case of this issue. So we returned the car and the clerk told us that Hertz will charge another 170 Euros for a new set of tyres even if it was just one tire got damaged. In the end we made the deal to solve the problem on our own (AGAIN!) and fixed the tire. We returned the car with no extra charge but with a loss of nerves and a very unpleasant second day of driving.

Hmm, where to start. Had pre booked and paid for a our vehiclein Australia. Arrived to pick it up, wasn't there - coming back from airport - should be here soon. An hour later, a vehicle arrived. It was filled with fuel, but filthy inside. On being shown how to arrange the seating, we were told a seat was broken and couldn't be adjusted - it was permanently stuck in an unusable position. In adjusting the other seat, a mechanism broke, resulting in it too being stuck. Six adults in a Peugeot 7 seater, plus luggage and hand luggage, we knew it would be a tight squeeze. The bloke we worked through was trying to help, no one else wanted to know about it. Eventually the manager came to access / rectify the situation. Not much luck here. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Then the manager asked if I could drive a manual. Yes! Take this one (Opal Zafir) then, ahhh!!! We did, and it was a good drive for the rest of our use - one week. Drop off was relatively smooth, but on our eventual return to Australia, we found we had been charge an extra day, plus taxes, etc. Our travel agent, may they be eternally rewarded, spent five months following up / working with Hertz Australia and Hertz Ireland. We were finally refunded. Experience with Hertz within Australia has always been professional, efficient and exemplary; this overseas experience put a dent in our dealings. Still had a great trip though!!! All positive and full of adventure!!

Worst decision ever! We had a rental car for 2 days... I'm driving for 15 years now - never had a flat tyre ... since now... Roadside assistance is not helping unless you pay them 250€. So we changed the tyre by ourselves. Tried to call hertz to ask them how to deal with that situation... No chance! After hours they answered the phone telling us that the expensive Super Coverage is NOT covering wheels and tires! There is a extra coverage you could book. Nobody was offering us that extra coverage. So the whole day was just nerve wracking and we just wanted to give back the car. 5:15 we wanted to return it and they wanted to charge us 170€ for a new spare tyre!!!! Unbelievable!!! PLUS the guy didn't tell us, we could replace the tyre by ourselves. We had to offer that opportunity! Went to a shop, fixed the tyre for 10€, returned the car the next day... NEVER EVER AGAIN WITH HERTZ!!!

The staff at this location were all very pleasant and efficient when picking up and returning the car. I also experienced no problems with the car itself. I had some billing issues (they both under-charged me by five euro when I paid by cash and then later double billed me via card), and Hertz customer services would only refunded the smaller of the two amounts I was charged for. Granted it was only a five euro difference, but considering the two mistakes they were responsible for I would have expected to only be charged the cheaper in-store price (that I had the receipt for). OTOH Customer services did proactively reach out to me about the double charge, before I even noticed though which was appreciated. Overall not a big deal, but this did leave a negative impression. Honestly I would likely use this location again for the friendly staff, but just be wary of billing issues.

YES, YES. I had a bad experience one Sunday morning with a competing car company (rhymes with schmerupcar) - I had Hertz in my back pocket for an alternate plan. Thankfully so. My girlfriend and I got down here and Martie helped us out with great haste, within 20 minutes of our arrival we were on the road for our adventure. Hertz has no hidden fees, no surprises just good old fashioned customer service and a very reasonable price. Thanks to Martie, I have thrown out all other car rental companies in my "Vacation Planning Searches", it will only be Hertz from here on out. Thank you so much Hertz, and especially Martie. Two male reps at office on Day of pick up - were kind of unfriendly & gave us a non-professional customer service. Day of return one of the same male rep came out to get the key, he was kind. We returned it one day earlier. Asked for a receipt. Rep told us he will email it. Next day called him 4 times to ask for the receipt. Hanged up on me twice as soon as picked up. Then when I called again. He told me to call back in the afternoon as he was very busy. I called back in the afternoon. He told me 5-10 minutes for him to email me the receipt. 5 days later, no receipt yet. I had to email Corp. & ask for it. Needed it for expense proof.

Not great at all, stay away. Too expensive for the type of cars they have. YOu are obviously paying for the brand HERTZ SMERTZ... Plus awful return area had to make 3 attamepts as they had cars blocking their entrance. Plus the assistant at the desk couldnt direct me as he said it was his first time working at this Branch. Though service was a bit lacking cost to much and the car I got was old with damages ... Didnt enjoy it I was using Europcar in the City they have a better return system and newer cars + competant staff. Not sure why I changed. Heading back.

At first hertz pickup at airport, the sevice people gave is the parking number... Wrong car. Had to search area for right one. There was a employee in the lot but did not offer help and felt that we had to pressure to help assist. Tire went flat from wear and tire, service guy said the tire had tons of weight in it. Had to pay for new tire. Return service off airport site.. Current location...was great. Lady was very nice and respectful. Car drove nice, clean inside, with no odor. Well kept inside vehicle.

They are clean, serviced and they are all new or nearly new. I know every staff member there and they all are brilliant! Llamo a la teleoperadora preguntando si es necesario tener tarjeta de crédito a lo que me responde que no. Al llegar a Dublín me obligan a tener tarjeta de crédito, al no tenerla me hacen pagar 22€ por dia alquilado + gastos de gestión, un total de 122€ + 50€ de la reserva inicial por internet. Posteriormente reclamo via email y me contestan que esta todo especificado en las clausulas. LAS CLAUSULAS ABUSIVAS SON ILEGALES SR. HERTZ Y VAIS DIRECTOS A LA OFICINA DEL CONSUMIDOR Y AL DEFENSOR DEL PUEBLO.

Understaffed. We actually were given keys and drove out without a soul checking us out or inspecting the car. And independently operated, so if you’re an overseas visitor and you have any issues once you return home, Hertz is unable to provide much assistance. Then there’s the staff at the airport. Nastiest human being I’ve ever encountered at any Hertz location. We were quite taken aback at the behavior of this individual. Bad day, who knows. Certainly staff training is in order here.

Schlechter Kundenservice in dieser Hertz Station. Der Mitarbeiter war sehr unfreundlich und hat einen falschen, viel zu hohen Betrag auf der Kreditkarte als Kaution blocken lassen, als vereinbart war. 150€ Selbstbeteiligung war vereinbart, der Mitarbeiter loggte stattdessen 2000€ ein. Weiterhin wurde das Fahrzeug nicht gemeinsam besichtigt, sondern nur ein schlecht lesbares und mit schlechten Bildern versehenes Protokoll per Mail verschickt. Das gemietete Auto war in Ordnung.

Dreadful dreadful dreadful. Understaffed checkin took ages. The sat nev never booted up- car wrattles and is dinted in every panel. Tyres are under inflated out of the shop. The worse car we have ever rented and we are still travelling and am unsure the car will make it. Tried to call Hertz Dublin but the phone rings out. There must be better places in Dublin - never uses these guys.

We moved to Dublin this year and I've had to rent a lot of cars. I have to say, the Baggot Street Hertz has been my favorite by far. The manager (David) has been very helpful on many levels but what's most impressive is how he turns cars around and gets me exactly what I need. I would (and have) highly recommend this Hertz to any friends and family visiting Ireland. Well done.

This place has been a car rental shop for as long as I've been in Dublin. It was previously run under other brands but is currently a Hertz outlet. Usually 1 or 2 people manning the check-in desk (there are only 3 counters total) so if it gets busy there can be a bit of a wait. Staff are courteous, friendly & easygoing. Never had any issues with renting a vehicle from here.

Charges 7 EUR daily SLW surcharge when declining their overpriced CDW when you cover your rental with your US credit card free CDW. Prepaid for a tank of gas, which was barely 7/8 full. When returning they switch the currency of your bill from Euro to USD at 7% unfavorable exchange rate without asking permission to do so

Avoid this company, I have already rented few cars in Ireland, never had issue for the deposit with my credit card. Hertz is the only company in Ireland who refused my credit card, and forced me to pay an extra insurance instead of a deposit. For no reasons. I will never ever rent again with Hertz

Très bonne expérience rapide et efficace. Et évidemment, il va falloir vous prendre la superCover pour l’assurance. Je parle pour les européens et français. Nous n’avons pas de carte de crédit mais de débit. Il est normal de prendre le full package, et il vaut mieux vu les petites routes étroites.

Hertz Ireland is fraudulent. No matter what you “agree” to, they will secretly over charge you for things, inflate your bill, and then refuse to provide any support or customer service. I can’t believe this place is still operating. They should be shut down immediately Avoid this fraud

Always happy, always smooth. On top of that, this a place where the guy gets you another car if you don't fancy French cars. "I can clean a Golf for you, but that will take 10 minutes, and I work alone today". No probs man! Was an awesome weekend with the Golf!

Although this location was quite busy on a Saturday morning and they only had 1 employee working (poor guy), I was able to drop my car off and get reimbursed for a repair in an efficient manner. I hope they are able to get more support staff for this spot.

Descent price, for a 4x4. Very pleasant staff both in Dublin city and at the drop off at Dublin airport. Car was in good order and we were offered a choice of vehicle. It's a pity that some folks hiring cause so many dents and scratches.

Even though the staff is really friendly and helpful, the car that I got was full of dog hair. On return, after mentioning it, they said "It is a pitty" or something similar. That is not a good way to show care for your customers!

First class. Renting a car used to be a hassle but Hertz have upped their game. Booked via my iPhone from my hotel room. Walked to the rental office and Hertz had me on the road in a lovely ford focus in minutes. Highly recommend
