Horrible experience! Im never one to complain. I try to see the positive in every situation so If I say this was bad....THIS WAS REALLY BAD!! I ordered an economy car online. The website shows if you order with your debit card, theyll hold $300 on your account. Fine, no biggie. Ordered insurance as well from the website. Come into this location the next day. A gentlemen told me "I dont have any economy cars, I only have compact cars!" Im like "but your website says otherwise Sir" he abruptly interrupts me and says "thats all I have in my parking lot! Also its a $500 hold because its your debit card" Oh....ok. I guess I have to take it then! He then goes on to say "Do you wanna get insurance?" I say "I already purchased insurance online sir." He goes "You purchased insurance with Priceline! You would have to deal with them if there are any issues!" Im like "So you want me to double pay for insurance??" He's like "yes!" I declined and told him Im gonna stick to the insurance I orginally paid for. I then go on to say "Hey, can I keep my SUV here while Im renting one of your cars? Ill only be gone for a day" He says "Yeah thats fine, *points to where his other rental cars are at* just park it over there. Look when you get the rental, it'll have a half tank of gas in it, please return it with the same amount of gas " I agree. I get into the car, and the tank is empty! I go back into the building and tell him the tank is empty. He points to the reciept and says "yeah the receipt says youre getting it at 1/8th empty " I said "But YOU said I would get it at half tank!" He smirks and say "I may have said one thing, but the receipt says otherwise and thats what you should follow" Smh ok. This is starting off really bad. Go to my brothers wedding, come back this morning to drop off the car and get my truck and..... My truck was towed last night!!!!! I call the tow truck company to tell them. They say "yeah no cars are supposed to be park in that lot over night!" I tell them "The manager told me to park it right there! He literally pointed to the spot and told me to park it there!" Im livid now! Went and paid to get my car out of towing, came back to the store and told a young lady that worked there and she didnt care! I told her the manager told me to park there and she said "well I think he meant for you to park it across the street!" Ma'am I dont care what you thought he meant.....Im telling you WHAT HE SAID!! Horrible experience! Im asking anyone that is reading this.....DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS LOCATION!

Both Nancy Maldonado and "Sam" Javeed need formal customer service training. Tone and delivery is everything. GOOGLE IT. *I did not have an issue receiving or returning my rental car.* However, their attitudes are so bad that I actually had to write a review! (I don't write reviews often) I walk in and Nancy does not greet me. I stand awkwardly at the doorway waiting to be invited to sit down. I LITERALLY have to ask, is it okay to sit? I let her know I am picking up and she immediately says with an attitude, "you're late so we gave your rental away." As if, she's prepared for an argument. (I didn't care, I wasn't paying for this rental anyway.) So I just say okay. She continues with, "you should have called, if you were going to be late." With a snarky attitude. Very true but Nancy, It's not about what you say, it's HOW you say it. She was aggressive, and annoyed. I just refused to be rude back. I remained relaxed. Later, I speak with Sam Javeed over the phone he was ALSO rude. He literally said "I don't remember you" Sir, just look up my name and let me return my rental. The added commentary about whether you remember me or not is unnecessary and very rude. Again, tone matters! Overall, these sound like minor things but they add up. Please work somewhere that is not customer service based or maybe a different location. You all are used to bad clientele (I get it) but you cannot treat everyone badly because of the previous customer. Both of you are making the company look terrible. The lack of professionalism, your attitude and demeanor does not fit this role! I am sure you all are nice people OUTSIDE of work. Just find a different profession, this isn't for you.

Horrible experience from start to finish. “Sam Javeed” (not even sure that’s his real name as he hesitated when I asked for his name), is a poor excuse for a manager. We rented a vehicle on Saturday for a week, (it was raining when we picked it up, so we didn’t do much of an inspection of the vehicle as we wanted to get out of the rain and the hertz associate took what I hope were actual before photos of the vehicle) we got home that day and parked it. Today (Monday), we decided to go to the grocery store. It was a little after 5pm but it was raining. So when we pulling into the parking lot we noticed the headlights were out. I told my husband to call to see if there’s something that can be done or are we able to switch out the vehicle. We called and spoke w/ “Sam Javeed” and he was a complete d- bag the entire time acting as though the light going out was our fault and told us that we needed to bring it to a mechanic of some sort to get it fixed. Regardless of when the light went out, this is a RENTAL vehicle! We’re not responsible for any upkeeps beside gas on this vehicle. He was extremely rude and dismissive. I gave up and called the 1800 number for assistance. If you can please don’t even book with this location.

If I could give them negative stars I would. Sam Javeed is the manager of the store and he was the most rudest person I have ever encountered. He gave me a rental that had a low battery and I didn’t know this until the vehicle completely stopped and I had to call triple A. After I told him this he stated that he doesn’t have time to check every single vehicle that comes in and he just gives any available car to customers. He also ignored all of my calls after I complained about this and stated that he wouldn’t be able to give me the district manager or corporate information. Please do not go to this location, you will most certainly regret it. The worst customer service and the worst staff members. They will not give you good service or a good reliable vehicle. If you like your safety do not go here.

Horrible experience. I swear I'll never use Hertz ever again in my life. It was an insurance claim rental & I had it for 45 days (@$40/day) until today 08/18/22 but it wanted to charge me for the 4.6gal ($9.99/gal) which I had used, instead of waiving the charge. Enterprise would've waived it for me. So, I went across the road & filled it up @ $3.25/gal. Then they wanted me to pay $743.81 for exceeding the $1200 limit for my rental even though my insurance had extended it on 08/01/22. Fortunately, my insurance reimbursed me for the expense. Finally, they refused to send me back, which Enterprise & others would, so I had to ask my son to come & fetch me home. BTW, their charges are higher than others & now, their service is worse.

Worst service ever. They didn’t have the suv I reserved a month ago. The girl that works there told me “ yes you reserved an suv but I don’t have it… can’t do anything about that.. rent a sedn”.. I told her my husband had back surgery and can’t get in a sedan. She said “ you but still can’t do anything about it “… I asked her to check if maybe another hertz location have an suv and she said I could go around but probably won’t find .. I can go around?? Could she care enough to call other stores and ask?? And the whole time she was annoyed with me because I kept asking for an suv and didn’t take the sedan. What a horrible service. Irresponsible people.. I had to take an Uber to the airport to rent an suv. I waisted time and money

If I could give this place a Zero star I would. Horrible customer experience!!! I spoke to “Sam” I think that was his name I wanted to return a car from another location which I’ve done before .. he wasted my time and would not let me after finally calling the other branch and having them authorize the return 7-10 minutes later ... he checks the gas and it’s slightly below where I picked it up from which they told me was fine when i originally rented it at the location near Westheimer and Voss... I got so frustrated and stormed out, they wasted my time and I had to be at work. He told me I had to go Put more gas inside the car after wasting my Time. You will never catch me or any of my family or friends at this location ever.

I rented a car at this location, and almost immediately after leaving the tire pressure signal displayed on the vehicle. I realized that the vehicle was missing tire valve caps on all four tires. I took the vehicle back to this Hertz location and explained what happened to a female employee, and she immediately caught an attitude with me (unprovoked) and assured me that the vehicle was my responsibility after leaving the lot, yet she still identified the air pressures as low and helped put air into my tires. I had to purchase my own tire valve caps to have for the duration of my rental reservation. This was my first time renting with Hertz and because of this negative experience, unfortunately this will be my last.

I reserved a 7 passenger SUV over a month ahead of my rental date. When I arrived, not only did they not have the SUV, they had no car that would handle more than 5 passengers. Eventually, they offered a minivan they had on site, but I had to return later in the day because it needed service... I was supposed to pick the car up at 10am, and it wasn't available until 3pm, and all they did was give the minivan an oil change. Completely ridiculous and they absolutely didn't care. Completely a fly by night operation... Stay away, the place is a joke and hardly a real Hertz location.

I’d give them 0 stars if I could! This is why I stick with enterprise. I was lied to not only once but twice. Before paying for the rental I asked if the vehicle was big enough for 4 children the guy says yes and it was not (it was a very small suv) then I was told I would receive a refund on Monday and I called just to be told it’ll take 7-12 business days. They will never get my business again!! 700$ gone down the drain. I am very upset and I hope they don’t treat anyone else like this! I also waited almost an hour and a half when getting the rental! Hertz sucks!!!

Avoid this Hertz if you like convenience and good customer service. Sam said a note said must return at original location - called both locations earlier to confirm different location wasn't a problem. Turns out Sam picks and chooses which vehicles allowed at this location REGARDLESS OF COMPANY POLICY AND CUSTOMER PREFERENCE. After advising Sam the Vehicle didn't have restrictions and ending the call, SAM CALLS ME BACK AND STARTS ARGUING like hard core yelling....just wow. Calmly advised Sam, I will not argue with you please stop, I ended the call....just wow.

Mr. Sam at the Westheimer and Kirkwood location was very nice. He called me and assured me whenever I was ready to pick up the vehicle, it would be ready. I was very appreciative of his demeanor and taking care of the rental process! They have nice cars there at that location! Nice and clean office space and they practice social distance with masks. Easy to find as well right on the corner! If i need in future, Hertz is the way to go! Thank you Mr. Sam for being really nice to me when i had alot of personal and work struggles! That meant alot!!

If I could I give this place a 0 star, front desk lady has no customer service experience she is so rude has horrible attitude. Do yourself a favor a go find another location. This people doesn’t realize that if they don’t treat customer right they have no business. I made a car swap because it needed a oil change they did want do and told me to do it like is my responsibility I regret taking the car I took yesterday I left a 2022 wolkswagon for a 2018 jeep they say that’s al they have. Really whatever here’s your 0 star ⭐️ to your business.

Worst car rental experience I have ever had. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and DISHONEST. They tried to rent us a car, that wasn't even the type of vehicle we had reserved, and that had been smoked in and not cleaned. We were trying to be reasonable so just asked that they mention it in the summary notes which they didn't do and then filled out the customer service survey for us giving themselves full stars across the board. This was the manager by the way. Spare yourself, your time, and frustration, do not rent from this location.

I wish I could give just a zero instead of a one star. The employees, especially the Hispanic woman, are so incredibly rude to every single person who comes in here. While I was waiting for my rental there wasn’t a single person these people were remotely professional or nice to. All the reviews even from two years ago about the employees being rude and unprofessional are still valid to this day. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The hispanic woman really needs customer service training and overall training in her job.

The manager at this location needs customer service training. I rented a car and my car had food and roaches. I told Sam the manager about it and he told me he couldn’t give me a discount because my insurance company was paying, but he could give me a discount on my next rental. My problem with Sam is, he didn’t apologize. He was cold and had no empathy. I told him my issue is that he never apologized. All he kept doing was talk over me. I will NOT rent a car from them and I will tell others to do the same.

Unprofessional. First of all they did not contact me beforehand to tell me I needed to return my car. What if I was not available to return it or out of the city. They said if I didn't return it my insurance wouldn't cover it and I would have to pay. I had to leave work early to drop off the rental and then they said they will give a ride home if I arrive before 5:30pm. Then I arrive at 5:25 for them to tell me I was too late??!! I chose this location because it was close to home.

Went to get my reservation and a guy in the office said they'll be right there. I waited 15 minutes for another guy to tell me they don't have any cars. The guy in office could have told me this. What a waste of time. I booked my rental reservation through Expedia and they basically said I was screwed because it was a third party. I will never rent a car from hertz because their insurance is too much. Expedia is $10 a day. I hope Expedia excludes them from their search engine.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. They were always argumentative, mean and defensive. Took an entire day to get me the car but of course charged for the full day.. They could bring me the car but not pick it up and when I returned the car they said no charges were on my card but they did charge me $5 in gas on my cc with out telling me. I brought the car back with a full tank. The guy who brought me the car was the only pleasant one there. I will NEVER use Hertz again.

WORST RENTAL PLACE EVER, HERTZ will HURTZ Your Bank Account and Tie up your funds! when i arrived they gave me a smaller car than I Asked for and on top of that charged $510 as a deposit although it isnt even for the vehicle i requested, Hispanic lady that works the front desk and answers calls has horrible customer service! She informed me her name was Nancy Maldonado! This place is TRASH PLEASE DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THEM you will be VERY DISAPPOINTED!

My reservation had to be changed to this location due to other location closure. I came in & updated my reservation online. They gave me keys to a dirty Nissan Altima and the car wasn’t on a full tank. I asked for a different vehicle. The representative reassured me that the other car would be clean and full. I waited another 20 minutes to get another dirty vehicle and it was not on a full tank.

This place is horrible , I have been charged full fuel when I took a picture of the fuel when I picked up the car. I have had this happen to me multiple times and the reason why I take pictures , plus the car smelled like cigarette. The most unprofessional place , be safe and make sure they do not scam you. I already reached out to the main office and submitted all the information I have.

Will not rent from them again. Customer service and management close to the worst I've seen. Several customers left frustrated. Had a res for 10am, no vehicle, came back at noon as instructed, no vehicle, was told "maybe later this afternoon." Never got a call back but finally called them at 2pm to get the vehicle. Messed up my plans for the day and wasn't compensated at all

Very bad at greeting customers. Bad attitude. Charge extra on my card for no reasons. Duplicate charges. That guy has attitude problems and thinks of himself as he knows everything. Doesn’t know information about cars and charges. You won’t get right information.

I reserved a car through AAA the rates for the intermediate size was great, my only issue was that the vehicle was not ready or on site when we arrived so our departure was delayed. Overall the experience was positive. I'll rent here again.

Booked a vehicle for my company. They called the day before to confirm and even said I could pick up an hour early THEN NEVER SHOWED UP TO OPEN THE OFFICE!! Corporate says this Franchise consistently has problems. CLOSE IT DOWN!!
