After a traumatic head-on collision, my Mercedes was totaled, and Geico (BEWARE of Geico...) left me stranded without a vehicle or my settlement. They dropped the ball on my claim and finally realized it a MONTH after the accident when I called to inquire about it. (I was too injured to move for 2 weeks...) I arrived to Hertz and they informed me that they have no vehicles in the class I reserved. A heads up from Hertz would’ve been nice...I would’ve reserved it at another Hertz. Hertz’s kind gentleman offered a 2-door hatchback, and I immediately started to have a panic attack and flashbacks of the accident. I informed the kind gentleman that I was disappointed that time is being wasted and that I felt taken advantage of. I should have been offered an upgrade...not a down grade. oh, and he told me that the hatchback would save me a whole $5.00. Why would I waste my time and money paying $285 for 4 days...just for a car that I would’ve died in if i were in it during the accident?? . As a “courtesy”, I was offered a Mitsubishi small SUV that made weird noises when braking. It was very basic and it was all scratched. The non pleasurable rental cost me approximately $290 for 4 days and i feel ripped off. , I was not satisfied with my rental and I’m still bothered that Hertz won’t make this right.

Ffs, I wish I had read the reviews before making my reservation. Everything is fine and smooth when I came in to get the car, they even picked me up across the street at Coggin. Jonathan was sweet and very nice as he helped me get into a car while mine was in the shop. Fast forward three weeks later when I go to the SAME EXACT LOCATION at 1:45PM on a Monday to drop the car off and the office is just closed. No sign, no telephone recording. Nothing. I go around back and there’s guys in the back I said “do any of y’all work for Hertz?” They said “No. If the door is locked you’ll have to call.” So apparently this happens OFTEN. I call and get nothing. I call Hertz corporate and they transfer me to roadside assistance. Roadside assistance tells me to take the car to a different location where they will be able to get me dropped off to get my car from Coggin. Who do I see when I get to the new location? None other than Jonathan’s smiling face. I explain the situation and why I’m mad and he seems unbothered. Again, another sign that this happens often. I said “you guys really should put up a sign if there won’t be anybody there,” and he says “yeah.” Okay so you guys know the problem, have a solution, and your response is...”yeah.” Whatever.

Terrible. I'm used to renting from Enterprise and have established my own idea of the standards that rental companies abide by. My experience with Hertz shattered that perception (but, inevitably, works in Enterprises' favour). So the car smelt like an ashtray. The rep denied that he can smell anything at all and went into the usual they always detail the cars yadda yadda spiel. No apology -- customer must be an idiot, right? Well sir, I wouldn't mind a slight cigarette smell but THIS was one stench I was not going to "put up with" for a week. Bad enough the person who hit me and got me here in the first place wasn't with GEICO (otherwise I'd be referred to Enterprise). So I get another car and it _seemed_ ok at first, but noooooo. After baking a while in the lovely Floridian sun, I come back to the car during break to park it nearer to my building and WWWWOOOOOOOF!! Smells like a wet dog inside!! Detailed, my ar$e. I could only imagine how bad the other car would have been had I not asked for a second one. Well, everyone learns from their mistakes. This is one mistake that I won't be making again! I should have pushed for Enterprise.

If I could give a NEGATIVE I would... First of all I know what mid-size is vs. compact. They tried to give me a whole HUGE midsize that was dirty and had trash in it. it felt like a garbage can Mini-minivan. the man argued the car type and size... they took $20 2 days ago for compact reservation for today. They were not ready for me and had no car for me and tried to give me a car I am too short to drive and cannot drive large autos anyway... The man took $275 today and I never left with the car... I tossed the keys back at him and said no dice... I'm not driving that piece of garbage (literally looked like a trash can and was so dirty inside and out I would have felt dirty in it) I cant! His Russian accent or whatever was the only thing nice about the entire mess... he was not kind at all and really rude. I kept my tongue and wanted to curse him out. NOW TO GET MY $20.00 & $275 back HMMMMM!!!!! He needs to find a job he can do and Hertz trash service needs to get real rentals or shut down! The place is like a junk yard!

The Lexus dealer down the street offered me a rental car while my car was in the shop so gentleman from hertz arrived at the dealer to pick me up. The minute i got in the car the cigarette smell was overwhelming so much that I had to roll the window down for fresh air. I was thinking this was a shuttle vehicle and not a car customers would drive. However, to my surprise they told me this is your car. I told the associate I cannot drive that car with the cigarette smoke smell so he agreed to get another one. Well you wouldn't guess, they wrote up my rental agreement and took me outside to inspect the car for damages before I leave. As I started walking around the car I began to think that it was a joke as the car was dirty inside with cigarette burns from floor to headliner in addition every panel of the exterior had scratches and numerous dents... and he wanted me make a list of damages to the car!!! Long story short I ended up at another rental car company down the street that had a decent car and customer service.

My first experience renting a car. I was redirected by another website to a great deal from Hertz at this location. The day came when I went to their office to pick up my rental. I was greeted by Jonathan who was personable and efficient. However, I was not excited about the rental I was getting when he showed it to me - it wasn't as big. I kindly asked if I could upgrade. He showed me a bigger SUV, but my eye caught a Jeep Wrangler Sahara instead. I asked if I may rent the Jeep if it's available. Fortunately for me it was and Jonathan went the extra mile to get me into the Jeep. There was an extra daily fee for the upgrade which I was fine with. After a quick instruction of the various features of the Jeep, courtesy of Jonathan, I was ready and on my way. Returning the rental was an easy process; I decided to return the Jeep a day early and the office was still closed. All I had to do was park the vehicle, lock it, and drop the keys into the lockbox. Great service! I will happily rent from Hertz again.

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. I had a decent experience with renting a car from here back in July. Stephaine was easy to talk to and provided good customer service experience. The price was good with my AAA discount. Everything was straight forward. The car, was fine, it smelled funky and was not in the best shape, mechanically. It’s a rental car. Was able to go on our 2400 mile round trip to Ohio with minimal issues. Had a few check engine lights. The Manager? I guess, was the one that cleaned the car. It was very rental car cleaned, lol. I took it home to detail it, before our trip. Nothing but good things to say about Stephanie. I do recommend you place your reservation MONTHs ahead to avoid not getting a car. If you wait until last minute, you won’t get a car. I worked for Penske back in college and understand how it works. Definitely renting another car for our Christmas vacation. Already booked

This Hertz location is nestled inside another business (RPM). In a back room with scant furniture, whenever the actual hertz employee gets there, they will more than likely half heartedly help you out and push you out the door. Worn tires? "Yeah you have AAA coverage in case of anything" Odd smell from the trunk? "This car just came from the airport." The employee was more interested in us shutting up and leaving than actually addressing our concerns. They rented out an unclean car (cigarette smell and a dog had peed all over the trunk area) promised a refund (still waiting) and still had an attitude after wasting our time (we were forced to drive back to the original hertz where we rented because no other hertz had a comparable car to rent out). Would not recommend even if they are the cheapest deal out there.

I arrived with a prepaid reservation. There were two people in front of me. I waited one hour and twenty minutes before they got to me. Then, when the associate went to do the walk around the car with me they discovered the car was not clean. They then spent another 10 minutes trying to quickly vacuum it while I waited. The car was still dirty inside with spilled "something" on the console between the driver and passenger side. When I went to drop the car off no one was in the office. I waited 15 minutes for someone to show up so I could drop off the car. The associated then seemed quite irritated that I didn't know the mileage. I wouldn't recommend this location. I've rented from here one time before... Wasn't as bad as this but, the car they gave me that time was like a mobile ashtray.

This Hertz Rental location provided the WORST experience ever with a Hertz Rental agency. We needed a rental because our car was in the body shop. They scammed us by charging us $703.68 for "insurance" on the car. My husband has been renting from Hertz for over 30 years and would NEVER opt for the extra insurance. When we complained to Hertz Corporate they quickly refunded half of the money and told us that we had to contact the Area Manager for the rest of the money. They would NOT tell us his name...they just kept telling us that he would call. He hasn't called and we can't get a hold of him. That manager gets a commission on the insurance!! SCAM! DO NOT USE this Hertz Rental office!!!

WILL NEVER RESERVE WITH HERTZ AGAIN!!! Both times I have reserved an SUV, I end up at the office and both times they did not have the reserved vehicle and instead offer me a van. At first they try to charge for the upgrade but then try to down play the fact that they don't have the vehicle I reserved by stating they are going to "do me a favor" and waive the van fee. First off, I don't want the huge van and second of all I reserve well in advance to avoid this problem. But hey Hertz, every time you messed up ENTERPRISE resolved the issue. ENTERPRISE provided the vehicle I needed and oh guess what...they were CHEAPER than you. THANK YOU ENTERPRISE, one less customer Hertz.

I don't even want to give this place a whole star!!!!! We dropped our truck off at the Ford dealer for some work to be done, Ford gave us a waver for a rental. Get there and the guy told my boyfriend that the vehicle had a little under half a tank of gas and that they had a special on gas for $2.16 and for $20's they would fill the vehicle up and he could bring it back empty no charge. Well they never filled the tank up, then when he returned what was suppose to be a FREE rental turned out to charge him $118.00's. Now he has been playing phone tag with them to get his money back. Will NEVER go to a Hertz again if this is how they treat their customers.

This has to be one of the worst companies to work with and deal with!! Bad customer service, dirty vehicles, shady charges. Vehicle was rented through a GM dealership as a loaner while mine was in for warranty work. Hertz still charged me over $300 because it was brought back late of which there was no end time or return date listed because it was through a GM dealership. Well after many calls, complaints, and getting the dealership involved I got a refund. Low and behold had to bring my car back for more warranty work and they send me to hertz again and to my surprise hertz put me on a do not rent list!! Do not use these people they are bad bad bad!!

This location advertises that it's open until 12pm on Saturday but was closed before 11:30. Nobody ever returned back to this location nor was there a sign that stated they were closed. My husband called customer service who was not able to locate the employees that was supposed to be working at this location. We had to drive all the way to Jacksonville airport to return the rental which is such a horrible inconvenience due to us staying in a different city! We will not be using Hertz again we will continue to stick with our trusted and reliable Enterprise which even has a drop box where we can drop the car off even after business hours.

Never will I use Hertz again. Reserved a car for pick up on Friday at 330pm. Went to get car on Friday at 330pm only to find nobody was there even though the sign on the door said they were open until 700pm. Then called number on the door only to hear the hours of operation and for me to leave a message and someone would get back to me. Needless to say nobody got back with me. I will tell my friends and family to never use Hertz in the future.

Horrible service, this was my first time using Hertz. Made my reservation a week in advance, got called the day of my travel to advise me that they didn't have a car for me. He said he would call me back within half an hour but after two hours waiting, I had to call him back. This happened several times and at the end of the day, they never found me a car. Went to Avis at last minute and was taken care of immediately.

Demola Ogunmola is not cut out for customer service work. He needs to be fired. On the day I got my rental I witnessed him lie to a customer. Then he is so rude and unprofessional. He argues with EVERYONE. The customers, insurance adjusters and employees at other locations. I witnessed him arguing with my adjuster and another employee. He is not a people person. He is so rude I would prefer to use another company.

Ordered a luxury car a month ago to go on vacation something I rarely get the opportunity to do showed up this afternoon to pick it up only to be told they only have a SUV or should I say a small hatchback and being I leave in the morning and it's too late in the day to get one somewhere else they had me ...upon reading reviews this is customary. Need I say won't be using them again and suggest no one else does

Rented a vehicle in May. 6 months later the illegally charged my cars for hundreds of dollars due to a mistake. After calling the branch and getting ran around in circles the manager returned my call at 4:59 1 minute before they closed after initially reaching out to them at 9am. So basically Hertz stole my money and said they'll give it back in 5 days. Choose a different company

If you need to drive that extra mile, do it. The experience is well worth it. I was able to have the car I wanted while mine was in shop without much hassle. Communication is key to good experience and they provide just that. Stephanie took that extra mile when I needed it the most. Definitely well worth it.

Absolutely Horrible. Had a reservation through State Farm and waited over an hour; because Hertz has 1 person staffing the location. This guy did the rental, cleaned the vehicle, and inspected. I will use Enterprise from now on regardless of price difference. Hertz places NO value in their customers’ time.

The absolute worst place to rent a car. Number one you're lucky if they have a car number two you're lucky if you get to the counter because of all the people that wait in that little itty bitty space there's no parking in the outside it's just it's awful.

This location and the business is trash. 10 year customer and this location authorizes cards randomly after a new GM was hired. Not only did he try to cover it up but they didn't even make things right. How do you allow employees to steal from customers.

If I could give no stars, I would. They've screwed up every reservation in the past year in one way or another, aren't there half the time and pad your rate with unauthorized charges. The pick up drivers are nice, but the counter manager needs replaced.

Awful experience!! The cars they offer are great however they quote you wrong when you first go in and when you return the car they overcharge you! They charged me $200 more and they said they could do nothing about it. Never doing business here again.

Service rep was great. Availability of vehicles with online reservation at particular price was not. What's the point of a reservation if you can't reserve it? Its not my fault someone didn't return their vehicle. If that's the case don't reserve it.

I was told that I would pay a 200 deposit fee for the vehicle on the day I went to go pick up the vehicle they wanted to charge me a $300 fee for the deposit overall bad experience I do not recommend going here

Of all the Hertz rental places in Jack, North Blanding is my favorite! The guy who works there is very helpful, asks if I have any questions about my vehicle and cleans the cars prior to your arrival.
