I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Hertz employees for helping me recover my drone. Last December, my car was undergoing repairs, and my insurance company provided me with the services of Hertz. Firstly, they were incredibly thoughtful in finding me a 7-seater SUV since my own car was also a seven-seater. Considering it was nearly Christmas, I couldn't fathom how they managed to arrange it. Around March of this year, my car was still being repaired, and according to Hertz's policy, I had to swap the vehicle after 99 days. I went to the facility but forgot to remove my drone from the compartment in the trunk. It wasn't until a few weeks ago when I went to retrieve my drone that I realized my mistake. Frankly speaking, I had lost all hope, but when I described my drone to the front desk, they promptly retrieved it from the warehouse. Words cannot adequately express the emotions I experienced at that moment because I had resigned myself to the fact that my drone was gone forever. I am immensely grateful to the Hertz staff (Peter.H and Deb)for their exceptional professionalism and service!

ABOVE AND BEYOND! I went back to the location 2 days after foolishly leaving a special rock I had found in the car hoping they would have it on hand. To my great dismay they did not. I left my name and information and asked that they scour their lost and found (and -fingers crossed- their trash) and to reach out to me if they found it. Sure enough, 6 hours later I got a call (via a private phone nonetheless as their work phone doesn't allow overseas calls) saying they had found it in the trash. Wow. Just wow. Not many -if any- places would've gone that far for any customer. 5 stars! Side note, when coming down Franklin (from Elizabeth) you will see a sign for budget and another rental company on a parking garage wall. There is no sign for Hertz. Take your next right into the next garage which is their. There IS a sign but only if you're coming from the other direction. Note to Hertz...... It would be very easy for you to put that information on the rental agreement sheet for anyone who is dropping off at that location that picked up somewhere else. Small courtesy but extremely helpful.

Don’t hire cars from them at all. I did a booking from my cousins university I’d card and confirmed the booking over the phone . But his credit card was not working so I asked them to take my credit card details as I was a co - driver . We called their customer care number.and confirmed over the phone that we can keep co drivers credit card details, but the staff at the store said they have different policy at different stores how is that even possible ? Also the staff member who was dealing with me had the worst attitude anyone can have . Hello we are paying for your services!!! Finally the staff told me if you want a car you have to make a new booking under my name and pay 200 AUD extra . She knew we were getting late and used it . Moreover while we came back one of our friends confirmed that they have taken car from hertz by putting co drivers credit card details . Highly disappointed with the company policy and the staff member.

The reason why I’m rating this place with 1 star is because I know it was our fault that we arrived after 4pm on Saturday but when we came on Sunday to the office, this guy Louis started to treat us awful. We arrived and he said this booking is from yesterday, we cannot give u a car now - you need to call this number and place another booking (we were in the office!!!!) so he made us a call another hertz number.. after my partner called the number, the guy on the phone ask my partner to speak with Louis and while he was speaking with the operator without even asking us he said: do the booking for 11 am, I’m so thankful I hear him because I said no, we really need the car now I cannot believe you are deciding on my behalf..so he said there is nothing- just cancel the booking, but in the worst possible way! I cannot believe how rude he was!!!!! Honestly hertz think twice before hiring someone like him!

Used to be great and really liked it here. However, we’ve been coming almost weekly to rent a car, are gold members and always have to wait a good while to collect keys. We arrived on time but have to wait at least 10minutes before we get to the counter. Firstly, it takes ages to process 1 car collection. Couple weeks ago, an employee told us after waiting in line 20mins that in the future, we can walk straight up to the counter to collect keys because we’re gold members and keys are usually already prepared so theres no need to wait in line. Today, we walked up when we arrived and was told we have to wait in line??? No consistency in communication at all! We’ve also had an incident where we received a car that was OVER FILLED with fuel and we returned the car with a FULL TANK and they still charged us for not returning a full tank.

Horrible customer service. The lady at the reception who made our booking did not convey all the charges against our invoice before hand. Please do not make any bookings over the phone because their communication between teams is pathetic. The amount that was confirmed via phone booking is different to what was conveyed over the counter, inspite of the customer service phone rep taking "notes". Very bad experience and I am ashamed to be a Gold Member. Will never book from here again. Anyone booking from here, TAKE EVERYTHING IN WRITING before taking the keys from them. They will glorify your invoice with charges that you're unaware of.

From other reviews, they have good car rental service, but my customer service experience was different. The lady who served me humiliated me in front of other customers, for only asking her to explain to me again how to get out of the car park. She said "I just explained it to you", really loud, in front of everyone. unfortunately didn't get her name. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the rental car, just not the humiliation I received.

By far the very best car rental company we've used to date.... Service was impeccable, efficient and friendly. From a walk-in booking after reading the review of competitors, it was well worth the 1k walk to Franklin Street from the hotel besides, it was great exercise. Krystal you are the best ! The rest of the staff were amazing - Hertz you should be very proud - Give these women a bonus !!!! and of course the Hyundai I30 was good too :)

Liars. Promised to refund me on the repairs I did for them on the tyre but never did. Emailed the. 5 times to the claims department but totally ignored. Never trust them Post Hertz follow up. Refund did come through. Thank you Hertz However they still did ghost me on my initial emails and created an unpleasant experience. Up to 3 stars to reflect my opinion

The staff at Hertz Melbourne city are very professional and the check in process was very smooth! Picked up the car in about 15 minutes as soon as stepped in the reception. Car return could not be easier simply drop off the key to the staff and leave. Would definitely use Hertz Melbourne city next time.

The lady at reception said we have to present the physical card only, can’t show digital card or tap to pay… We just had to cancel the booking and our trip. Understand there is company policy and stuff, but it’s expected there should be other options available.

In my experience, I need booster seat for my 5 years old daughter and, of course, I have booked it on my reservation but they forgot to prepare it. This was absolutely human error, and should be avoided. It took over 40 minutes to prepare another boost seat.

The claim department never replies to my husband's email with regards to an outstanding claim. He submitted all the info in mid Oct, and has yet to hear back any update or reply. There is no acknowledgment or any follow-up communications. Very frustrated.
