Renting from hertz useing triple AAA. Hertz has become beyond shady with rental cars. Triple A is there road side service. I picked up a car after booking it online in Brandon Florida suppose to get mid size suv got a ford explorer with 53000 miles on it. Which was dirty and smelled the back had the seats folded. They don't have another car and now I'm in a bind. Took car when using the ac really smells. The Brandon herts is gross outside it smells. If you read reviews on the herts not at airports very hard to find a good one. The dirty car the up charging the charge for damage you didn't do etc like bad. I called them when I got to we're I had to be whole point of renting car. No one ever answers any of there customer service number they close on 12 sat till Monday morning not the airport. The road side service is from India on weekend and have nothing of any value. They tell me to drive three hours to airport to exchange. Reading the rental contract that's a 300 up charge but you can do that. . Hertz law suit having numerous people arrested for saying cars they rented were stolen post at the end. Tripple Aaa steers you to them and is compliant in this. Cleaned car dumped charcoal in it to get rid of smell it works. Any claims of damage dings on cars over 25 thousand miles aren't same has high milage cars don't rent from these scum bags. Haven't returned car yet have it for a week .the drop off and inspection they didn't have time to do at pick up. I did video car inside and out. Will be recorded also at drop off. I made a mistake and not reading reviews about this location I made a reservation , choose a car ,paid for it in advance when I showed up they told me there is no car for me when I ask him why they couldn't call me a day before so I can make another arrangement on a different location they said I supposed to call and check if they going to have a car for me for the next day, it's ridiculous I have to do their job. All location should able to see an advance what kind of car going to be rented out for that day or the next day or the following day it's not my responsibility to get the car there what I was ordering . I asked them if any other location has the car what I was looking for they said right away no they only called one rental location and of course they said they don't have it either they couldn't get it from the airport because I know they had the car I just didn't have the time to drive out there myself they didn't want to deal with me at all The manager shake me off and give my case to somebody who doesn't even work in this location just have them out for that day. when I asked them to cancel my reservation they said no, I need to do that. the problem with that is the customer support don't speak good English The line keeps cutting out ,with the background noise you cannot hear them . So basically they send me away no compensation , no I'm sorry we apologize for the inconvenience, come back next weekend or here is a discount for your next rental nothing as a presidential circle member this is The most unprofessional location I ever rented a car from. Oh FYI watch out for the cigarette ashes SCAM. there was a lady when I was walking in yelling she wasn't a smoker and she need a proof a picture of the ashes in the car she dropped off couple days ago because they charge her $400 for cleaning fee and when you looking at the reviews of this location a lot of complain about dirty cars at pickup and funky smiles coming from cars so if you find anything don't leave the lot before you show them and get them cleaned or get charge at the end.

Horrible customer service They charged me $200 more than my agreement said. Once i start to inquire they were really rude as if i was trying to pull a fast one. Although my contract clearly stated including taxes and everything $1248 I was charged $1486. They did some discounts and acted as if they were doing me a favor (the discounts equaled to $1486) The manager at the location said she would be using this as a training experience for her employees. This doesn’t help me at all. At one point the lady at the front desk said “what do you want me to do?” Lol I don’t know... your job? The manager also said it was busy Monday morning as if me trying to figure where a magic $300 came from shouldn’t be in question Pretty much even though i have a contract. Even though they confirmed the price on the phone call. Car extension rates are not guaranteed. I also kept the car for one day extra after calling hertz number telling them my return date location is closed. They said just return it first thing next day. I asked will i be charged extra? They said no. I called the location several times Saturday where google says they were open. They weren’t. My return day was on Sunday which they were closed so i brought first thing Monday 8am. I also asked if i can be dropped off at the next hertz which was a 14 minute drive , the website says they will anything under 15 minutes. Lady at front desk says they don’t go past 5 miles. I show her the website and again she got rude. I left never wanting to rent from there. Hertz is actually one of the better rental companies just not this location. The general manager Cason Derrick helped resolved my issue and was really nice about it. Rent from hertz, just not from here.

I made a reservation for a 9:30 am pick u at the Atlantic blvd location. At 8:30 am on the same day I received a call from a rep from the Atlantic blvd location informing me that they would be pushing my reservation to 11:00 am because there were no cars available. I informed them that they could cancel the reservation since an 11:00 am pick-up time won't allow me to get to my out-of-town meeting on time. The Hertz rep told me that there would be a cancellation fee for the cancellation and that if I didn't show up that they would charge me a no-show fee. she indicated that I had to be the one to call the customer service line to cancel the reservation. They don't deliver but it's on me to call. When I called the customer service line, the agent said that they could find me a location that had cars available. Then she suggested that I go to the same location that I was just told that there were no cars available. When I reminded her that the location she suggested is the same location that has no car available, she told me that if I didn't go at 11 am Hertz would charge me a no-show fee anyway. I had to spend close to an hour on the phone to finally get someone who would cancel the reservation without a charge. so they say. I guess I'll have to wait and see if I get charged. This was a complete waste of my time. If you don't have cars available, don't accept reservations, it's that simple. Do yourself a favor and rent from a different company.

First time booking from Hertz. We booked a car one month in advance, two hours prior to pick up time they call saying we don’t have a van for you. We ask if they can substitute another vehicle, at this point does not matter which one. They said come at the pick up time they’ll figure it out. Long story short, it’s 2:00PM we go in seeing if they can substitute for another car, thinking they’ll honor the price of the van. NOPE, they offered an SUV and wanted to charge us double the price of what we booked the van for. Nick the manager came out and stated, we have 3 hours until closing time, I’ll find a van by 5:00PM. We left the place and went back at 4:00PM, a little early just to make sure they are looking for another van as they promised. We come to find out the manager had already left for the day. This is the guy that said he would keep looking and find a car for us by 5:00PM. The employees wouldn’t do anything about it, the manager ran off leaving them alone. This was truly the worse experience we had with a rental company. They left us running around looking for cars at 4:30PM, everywhere closes at 5:00PM. Try to avoid this place at all cost.

I had to leave the car after hours. The following day, I received my receipt by email. They had charged me for fuel. When I picked the car up it had 1/2 tank and I was told to return it with 1/2 tank. I actually returned it with more fuel and I also returned it cleaner than it was when I picked it up. Not pleased that it had a disgusting odor, but was told that the previous person had left Chinese food in the car. That was so far from the truth. It smelled like cigarette smoke to me. I was disappointed that there was absolutely no compensation for having to tolerate the odor for approximately 1,000 miles. I was also disappointed that there wasn't any compensation for returning the car sooner than I was supposed to and cleaner than it was when I picked the vehicle up! I wasn't happy that I had to make 4 calls to find out why they were charging almost $70 more! Was the problem taken care of? Yes, but I was the one that had to make 4 calls to even discuss the issue and received no compensation, no apology, and no explanation for the HUGE mistake that was made! I can only hope and pray that I NEVER have to rent another car!

My car's transmission broke down for the second time & the car repair did not have a loaner for me on that day. I walked across the way to the Hertz Rental which is very conveniently located in the same lot. I walked up to the counter and thankfully Dan Butts was there. He was great! He worked with me to get a car immediately, even though it was the end of the day and they had limited availability. He made sure that I left with a vehicle to use for the weekend and even went the extra mile to find my Hertz Gold customer number and ensure I got the appropriate discount I deserved! Today, when I returned the vehicle briefly because my car place still didn't have a loaner, I was once again helped quickly & efficiently. The manager, Nicholas even assisted when again my Gold Membership number did not populate to give me the proper discount. He went through the steps to make sure that I got all the discounts I deserved on my rental again. I would highly recommend this location and its employees. They are all friendly, professional, efficient and make sure that you get exactly what you need when you need it. They're GREAT!!!

This has to be one of the most poorly run businesses I've ever been to. I rented a car online for pick up and drop off at this location. Paid up front so I wouldn't have to worry about it. When I showed up there were at least 5 different people aimlessly wandering around drinking coffee and looking at their phones. We finally get the guy's attention at the desk. We tell him we have a reservation for a rental pick up. He says they don't have any cars. I said how is that possible. The parking lot is full of cars, I booked this reservation weeks in advance, paid upfront. I need a vehicle. He gives us the sorry not sorry look. Says there's nothing he can do. We raised hell for a minute and another guy comes around and says, Oh, we have your vehicle. Another 20 minutes later and we have our rental. Talk about a joke of an operation. Then they double-charged us. That's a whole different review dealing with customer service trying to get as refund on the double charge.

Absolutely worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. Took literally 2 hours, and 3 cars later as one had dash lights on, found a nice knife in car. Second had a nail In tire that “I could just stop down road to get it plugged”, this came from an employee wearing sweatpants, a football jersey and slides with white sock, extremely professional. I was told I’d have additional fees once I dropped it off in Asheville but he couldn’t tell me how much, which was one of the most idiotic things I’ve ever heard of. Meanwhile they let people in who waited patiently after 12 noon (they close at noon on Saturdays). When it was their turn they were told “sorry” we closed at 12. This may have been the most inept staff I’ve ever seen. No one from hertz (multiple emails) have reached out to me, it’s been a week. The car we ended up getting was filthy and we stopped to pick up Clorox wipes.

Without a doubt the worst rental car center in Jacksonville. Unbelievably rude staff! As soon as you walk in the door you are ignored and treated as a second class citizen. The entirety of the staff acts as though they are doing you a favor by giving you any attention at all. And do not forget you will be over billed. A lot. The staff is trained to do so by management. This method is in hopes the customer does not read each line on the bill. If you are lucky enough to discover the "typo". Then, they will "fix" your bill. The amount will look so much better you will not realize they are still overcharging you. A nasty old school con job being done by a publicly traded entity. Avoid this location like the plague unless you like misery and financial pain.

I had a very bad experience with this rental car company, Zero understanding. This company called me every day for 2 weeks during my vacation to ask from me to return the car that I rent from them for 11 months . They broke the contract after 7 months and tell my some lies They cancel the contract without any notice. And I was outside the state so I wasn’t able to operate the return I’m very disappointed from them and will never recommend this company for my relatives. This company not loyal for a value customer that pays always at time be aware from them no trust . They lie about a safety issues that this car as. I’m really thinking that this company got so big so they stepped up on loyal customers. Be smart and don’t let them grown on our back!!!

The branch manager at the Atlantic Blvd. location was not only unhelpful, but rude, condescending and can't be described as anything but a total jerk. Refused to allow a return of an airport rental at their location. BEWARE, Hertz airport and Hertz non airport locations apparently don't share a computer system and will not cooperate with each other. They acted as if they were a completely separate company and made ZERO effort to be helpful. This 40+ years Hertz Gold member will never rent from Hertz again. So disappointed in a once great company. The Jacksonville airport location isn't well managed at nights either and I had been growing disenchanted over the past few months. This last episode did me in forever.

I rented a vehicle due to my car being repaired, and when I picked up the rental car they did not have my vehicle I reserved and tried to put me in the smallest clown car ever. Then when I picked up my vehicle from completed repairs and dropped off the rental car, the Hertz employees didn't check the car in the system until 4 days later charging me $270 for 4 additional days and put me on the do not rent list. After 3 years I am still fighting it and have not been able to rent a car since. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!!!!! P.s. Nicholas Galas the branch manager is one of the worst managers in customer service I have dealt with and seems to be racist in the way he treats customers of color!!!!.

I purchase a car from Hertz, and brought in my tags to be transferred to the car. Only to find out three months later that they charge me for another tag, which I had just purchased a two year sticker in September for my car that got totaled in October. I brought it to Mr leash attention and he said he didn't know if I brought the tag in or not and I told him that his sales person Joseph took the tag, and I thought that you was going to use it on the car that I purchased. Mr leash said that Joseph didn't work for them anymore. Mr leash has promised to call me about some other issues, and he's never reached out to me, it's been about 2 weeks now and have not heard from him and I don't expect you.

Read the reviews before renting a car at this location. I’m a Hertz President’s circle member and never had such poor service with hertz until I visited this location. From the branch manager Sallem (worst person there) to other employees seems like none of them cared about customer service. All rude !! The 6 cars they had were all dirty or needed an oil change. Just be aware that if you want to check the inside the cars you want to rent from the line up they won’t let you. Avoid at all cost this shady hertz branch. I ended up going to Enterprise down the road who had a better car selection, better customer service and cleaner cars. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID this hertz location

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, I booked a van a month in advance from the pick up date and time. At first they denied i even had reserved the van enough though i had email confirmation. Then the day i was supposed to pick up the van at 2PM they said they didnt have a car available. The manager Nick reassured me that he would find a car before they close at 5PM, When i arrived to pick up said car that he was supposed to find at 4:30PM he had left and basically run off, Completely unprofessional as they couldnt even inform me a few days prior so i could make new plans they informed me the day i was supposed to pick up the car. I would give a zero if I could. I don't rent vehicles a lot. People check reviews and do your research first. I had to get a rental due to my vehicle being a total lost in an accident. It was Not fault. They gave me a dirty van. I should have took pictures. I should have reported that before leaving. Also, charging me extra fees without explaining if I had the right to reject it. Then I don't like how Hertz charge my card right away. Then delete the first charge and charge my card again.Then when return early after hours want to say thay insurance only paid for 15 days and charge me for the extra day.This place is scamming people

The staff was patient, courteous, and even stayed a bit after closing time to help me and other customers. I HIGHLY recommend this location. By the way, they are the only rental company with Tesla cars - the car was hands-down the best driving experience I'VE EVER HAD. I felt safe, the charging infrastructure was strategically placed for convenience, and the software was flawless with regards to payment. I reserved a car at the airport. Needed a major credit card. Did not have one. Called customer service. They informed me to go to Atlantic Boulevard where I would not need a major credit card. I pulled up to the one on Atlantic Boulevard spoke with the manager who informed because it’s the same day rental I need a major credit card. Both times a hold of $250 and put on my debit card so now I have $500 tied up on my card that I need to be able to run a different car would not refund my money that they do not use this company go somewhere else

Don’t waste your time, if they have a vehicle and that is a big if it will not be safe. After having the vehicle for 2 days a plastic piece that was duck taped to the underneath of the car fell off and started dragging while we were on the highway. We did have dogs in the car so that was our bad for living our lives with a rental even though the cleaning fee sign in the office says “no smoking or vaping $400 cleaning fee may apply” and nothing about pets whatsoever. Terrible experience! Roadside assistance is a joke and good luck getting in touch with anyone when you call customer service. Car wouldn’t start and I called the 800 number after 4 times of calling and being put on hold I finally got to a person who told me to take the parking brake off which wasn’t on and put on hold for an hour then picked up and hung up. Called back and put back on hold. Could only get someone with thick accent to answer and tell me they had to transfer me. Do NOT rent a car from here!

Reserved and pre-paid for a car rental 3 weeks in advance. Arrived to pick up the car and they told me they don’t have a car for me. Gentleman in the front stated they had not had cars for 4 days. Poor management and no care for inconveniencing their customers. Do yourself a favor and don’t rent from here. Worst part is I now have to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back. Do not deal with these guys stay away they do not honor their own confirmation emails with the confirmation number. Was given the runaround all day my pickup time was at 10 am was told to check back at 2 then 4 finally went up after calling just before 4 and was told that a vehicle was coming out of the body shop got. I was hesitant to book a car after a previous bad experience last year. I decided to give them a chance because the location was convenient. I'm happy I did. Nick the new manager was pleasant and eager to assist me as soon as I walked in. Saleem the manager associate quickly found my reservation and processed everything efficiently. I'm happy I tried again. Don't let the bad reviews discourage you from using this Hertz. With this new staff it's definitely an improvement in service

I made a reservation over a month ago and showed up and no car. Apparently my reservation was made for 8:30 am instead of 1:00 pm. No one even called me to tell me they were canceling it. When I arrived I waited almost 20 minutes and was never greeted. When I finally asked for help there was nothing they could do for me. This is so disappointing. I ended up down the street at Enterprise were I got excellent customer service and an awesome vehicle. Thank you Enterprise.

My entire Hertz experience was awful—starting with the 800 number, going to the Cassat location and ending here. That said—-when the manager saw my customer feedback he called me immediately. He was polite, apologetic and tried to be very helpful. Much of it was out of his control. He is really trying and should be commended for working uphill against the Hertz terrible processes and infrastructure.

Sasha Brown was so friendly and helpful! I needed to extend my rental because my truck was in the shop. I had a meeting in ten minutes on Zoom and she had everything squared away so by the time I finished my meeting everything was ready to go. She even switched out the car I had with a similar truck which was what I preferred. Overall nice easy experience!

I showed up and they didn’t have the vehicle that I wanted, the manager Dan ( with an Afro) was super nice. I asked him if I could pick something up next week. And when I showed up on that Thursday, he had the vehicle waiting for me. Dan is definitely THE MAN. As much stress as he’s under, he still took time out and made me a happy customer.

Reserved a car a week and a half in advance to be told on pickup that they do not have the vehicle and we have to drive 45 minutes across town to get it. They lost they Tesla key??? We needed to leave by a certain time had a reservation set and everything. Showed up and I guess they lost the key card to the Tesla, not sure exactly how that happens.
