WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE POSSIBLE! I was supposed to hire a Toyota 86 from this Hertz site for a 4 day romantic getaway with my wife. The vehicle I received stunk of cigarette smoke even though I had to sign a form stating that I would not smoke in the vehicle. On top of that, there was a rattling from the engine as it accelerated from slow speeds. The manager Mark, was absolutely unhelpful and could not care that he had spoiled the start to a weekend away. He made NO attempt to find us a suitable replacement vehicle, offering us instead a Renault Latitude (family sedan) as a replacement for the Toyota 86 (a high performance sports car). When I complained to Hertz Corp, I received an email over a week later from the Franchisee acknowledging my complaint and confirming some of the details therein however, offering NO APOLOGY or offer of any sort of compensation (even token). In short, steer clear from this site. Hertz as a company is excellent but this site severely lets them down.

The day that I had to return the car I was trying to extend my booking but nobody answered, after 2 hours they called me informing that I had to return the car within 10-15 minutes!!!! It was impossible for me because I was in other part of the city. When I returned the car I was informed that there was a penalty fee of one day rental even I returned the car, I rent the car many times using most of the time Hoppers Crossing Office,when they have issues with their fleet for the next day they always inform me......that's what is called a customer service!!! As gold member I expected at least a 50/50 compromize..........as I rent very often a car, I am not sure to go back to Glen Iris office

I’m so sorry I needed a rental for longer. My apologies for paying to have the rental longer. Honestly trying to guilt a paying customer in to returning a car they need longer is poor customer service. You were made aware that I couldn’t book a replacement car online 4 days before. Instead of calling you sent a text. Then called on the day I said I couldn’t drop the car off to arrange a replacement. I tried to make time but with all your stuffing around you left it too late. I don’t expect to have to inconvenience myself because you’re disorganised. I’d say it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Hertz location but South Yarra (same franchisee) outdid you today.

I've only had limited dealing with Hertz, and have seen a few negative reviews here and there, though thought I'd go ahead and hire as it was the closest rental company to where I live. I've been hiring a car fairly regularly from Hertz in Glen Iris, it's been a very positive experience for me. Easy, efficient.. the staff there have always been so helpful and friendly.. really nice crew. The Toyota Corolla I've hired on both occasions was quite new, running smoothly and always immaculately clean. Not sure what the other locations are like, but I've only ever had positive dealings with these guys so far.

I hired a car from Hertz Glen Iris and the service from the beginning was excellent. From the time I picked up the hire car, to when I dropped ir off, the service was incredibly efficient. I had forgotten my umbrella that was given to me as a special birthday present and for the life of me could not remember where I put it. So I rang Hertz and spoke to Jamie who was so patient with me as I was concerned I lost it, and he found it! If I could give them 10 Stars I would. Thank you so much Jamie and the team for your friendly, efficient service. You all get 10 stars in my book.

The staff are genuinely so, so, very, very friendly and they genuinely want the best experience for their clients. And do all that they can to meet their customers needs and fulfill their requests. I truly can not recommend Hertz Glen Iris highly enough!! Jaime in particular shows himself to be extremely empathetic, and deeply understanding nature. I guess things don't go right all the time from a few of the reviews. Luckily for me, I'm with the majority and could not be more complimentary about the team at Glen Iris. I've had two recent hires and couldn't fault anything. The staff, Jamie and the gentleman I returned the car to were terrific. Jamie, in particular was very helpful in his phone contact with me. I started my hire with Flinders Street Hertz, but very glad I found our Glen Iris Hertz oasis. Job well done guys!! Hi five from me!!!

Had a pleasant experience with a professional and courteous staff. No issues handing in or renting the vehicle. The vehicle was thoroughly inspected before departure and staff encouraged taking photos and otherwise showed all damages honestly up front to tell us what they cared about and not. Very helpful on the way over the phone too in terms of changing return time. I got a Toyota Corolla with the full Insurance package and would recommend it to others!

I hired a car through hertz and I was advised if I had any issues to call racv as I have roadside assist and I would not be charged a call out fee. I had a flat tyre and I called racv and I have been charged a call out fee. I have spoken to hertz and emailed a number of times and the issue has not been resolved and I am now taking it up with the ombudsman.

Booked a car. Received 3 confirmation emails including the online check in. Turned up - no car available, not even an alternative. Employee was rude and dismissive. No effort to sort something else out. Said they weren’t even connected to Hertz (?!) so online confirmations are meaningless…hertz needs to investigate this office - seems dodgy.

Worst ever! Never step in this store! They blame me took off one the headrest? Why I took off the headrest! when I pick up the car, I did not notice that one of the headrest was missing. So they charged me $220 for the headrest! And I bought the insurance, but they told me it didn't cover this! So disgusting! They are totally cheating!

I had a hire car with them when mine was a write off recently and they were very easy and lovely to deal with. They made the whole process easy for me and helped me out when my insurance company was making life difficult.

I found Hertz Glen was perfectly fine, the staff were polite and courteous and the car was good. I don't doubt some of the gripes here are genuine but don't let that keep you away.

Staff are friendly and helpful, really competitive price in terms of the rental, however, there are extra fees they don't disclose up-front.

Stayed open after closing when running late. Friendly staff, easy process when liasing with insurance company.

For the car sales, you can still offer them to lower the price and I’m sure both of you will agree on price.

Don't ever step into this place , read all the paper works before you sign anything !!!!!!!!
