This was in an ideal location for us. Close enough to our lodging that we could walk to the office and easy access to the non-toll road out of Sydney so we didn't need to pay for the toll add-on. The staff were nice. However our car's tire pressure light was on and no one on staff could fix it. We looked at the tires and they all looked ok, so we decided to keep the car, but it was a concern for awhile. About 5 days into our 11 day rental, without luggage in the trunk, we noticed a strange rattle and took a look at the spare tire. It was loose and flat. We figured that a previous renter had a flat tire and that's why the tire pressure gauge was on. Apparently the tire was fixed, but not the tire pressure gauge or, more importantly the spare. Had we needed a spare we would have been out of luck. This is something that should have been taken care of before Hertz rented out the car, so we were not too happy about it. I know turn around time is important, but so is the safety of the customer. This might not be the fault of the location, because apparently they do not service the cars on property, but it stills reflected poorly on Hertz.

A Hertz agency to be absolutely avoided! Saturated parking lot: it was necessary to move 6 cars to take out the one that we had reserved. Operation totally made by a lady full of willingness whereas her 2 male colleagues roamed without doing anything of concrete. The highlight of the laziness! One of them refused even to indicate on the document of reception a blow brightly of paint just because it was of an insufficient size! It was also made by his colleague who is good the only employee in under ground which deserves its salary! Une agence Hertz à éviter absolument ! Parking saturé: il a fallu déplacer 6 voitures pour sortir celle que nous avions réservée. Manoeuvre totalement effectuée par une dame pleine de bonne volonté tandis que ses 2 collègues masculins déambulaient sans rien faire de concret. Le summum de la fainéantise ! L'un d'eux refusa même de signaler sur le document de réception un coup avec éclat de peinture sous prétexte qu'il était d'une taille insuffisante ! Ce fut fait aussi par sa collègue qui est bien la seule employée au sous sol qui mérite son salaire

Conveniently located in a busy residential building, this Hertz strives to not only inconvenience it's customers, but also the residents. They considerately supply no customer parking, a car drop off inside the already busy apartment carpark with NO access to the security door (which is always closed), you'll be pleased when you go to return the car and can't get in, then get abused and honked at by the residents you're now blocking from entering their home. They've also taken into consideration the apartment lift system which only has access to the front desk via one lift, don't worry though - when you get lost, which happens often - the apartment residents will walk you to the correct lift or grant you access out. The location is also at the pyrmont bridge on ramp, ensuring if this is your first time driving in Sydney and pick up a car at peak traffic in the afternoon you will have a heart attack trying to merge towards the bridge.

Very outgoing and friendly staff. Their cars are new and very clean. I would recommend buying the extra insurance, yes it cost more but it worth it. I been driving since 7 years and I never ever caused any scratches or accident. Drove in many countries. But Sydney has small parking, I scratched the car while parking in a parking lot. The scratch is small not a big damage but due to NSW insurance policy, it could cost me up to 7000$ for this scratch to repair. I'm lucky enough to bought the 29$ extra insurance so I didn't had to pay anything comparing 29 VS 7000$, it's nothing. You can take bus 389 from Town hall station and it would take you to this location.

Unfortunately, despite my reservation 1-2 weeks ahead of time for a van, there was no van available when I came because the previous driver had decided not to return the van on time. So that was not helpful as we were moving & required the specific model so it would fit between alleyway and into the underground car park. They offered a bigger van but it wouldn't have fit. Staff Bianca and Christine were very helpful and managed to get a driver to pick up the same van from another location but that took a few hours. (18 months ago when we had rented the same van from them, there were no issues.)

I was really disappointed with my experience with this Hertz. Our original quoted price was 120 AUD but the final price ended up just under 300 AUD (I had expected something more like 220 AUD with insurance and taxes). ~30 AUD was for location charges that were supposed to have already been included in the original 120 but they would not remove it. Another ~35 was for a toll pass it turns out we didn't really need - they were totally unwilling to give us an idea of what the toll fees would be like to Katoomba. Terrible staff and a terrible company.

I've been a loyal Hertz customer for 20+ years. We have recently rented 5 cars over the last few months from the Pyrmont location. This last time we pointed out existing damage on the vehicle we rented, but the person who did the walk through assured us that the damage we were pointing out was considered "wear and tear" and that the bumper damage we pointed out wouldn't be an issue. He hurried us along and sure enough, when we returned the car we were charged $500 for the damage. Horrible customer service, I'd stay away from this location.

Terrible customer service. Was waiting 15 minuets while one of the receptionist finished her conversation with her friend and the other receptionist was on a break. Returning the car was a nightmare as well. Waiting 25mins at the roller door calling the number given constantly to no answer and bibbing the horn to no reply. Another car behind me was also waiting to return a car and having no luck with the number and we both needed to get to work. No apologies or explanations given. I will never be hiring from here again. Terrible service.

Wouldn't recommend as they charge me for fuel, despite me refuelling 5 minutes before I arrived with the car. The person checked the car, fuel and all was well but to my surprise they still charged me almost $50! Escalated to their customer service (provided a screenshot from my bank immediately) and after calling them, writing follow up emails I haven't heard anything back. Don't bother and go with Avis or Budget - rented dozens of times from them here and overseas and never had an issue. Hertz never again.

poor customer service after u rent a vehicle...u only get stress nothing else...for example I rented a car for 3 months and returned without any issues, then I did some traveling overseas, later I noticed my card had been debited every week even all the payment was settled when I returned the car. I tried to contact them so many times to stop it and asking for explanation, unfortunately no response. it was terrible!!! finally I had to get support from faretrade ombudsmen to sort the issues...

I have been a Hertz Gold member for over 20 years and have never received service this bad or cars in such deplorable condition. The first car they assigned me had over a half dozen dents and dings and reeked of cigarette smoke. When I complained, they 'punished' me by assigning me a downsized older model which had no power, bad brakes and was light on fuel. I returned it to another Hertz facility where they treated me like a respected customer.

I had a great experience here. I got a really nice almost unused car. The staff were really helpful and I felt very welcome. They even called me up to advise I'd left a bag in the car. This hasn't always been my experience at the Pyrmont office, but it has certainly gotten so much better over the last year

Impossible to get in touch with Pyrmont Hertz. Someone from overseas who rented their car hit my car a month ago and i have been trying to contact them ever since. That person has probably left the country by now. Extremely frustrating.

No signage to show where drop offs are... for sydney city this is a must. The garage is in Ada Lane — off Pyrmont Bridge Road. Once in the garage no signs where to go to drop keys... car was great but drop off experience was a pain.

Very helpful in explaining not just the car rental procedure, but as well the traffic regulation for a traveler like me. Make sure to come early in the morning to pick your car to avoid long waiting line.

Hertz is a failed company. From a difficult and tedious web site to non-interested staff, trouble getting a tax invoice - there is nothing good about Hertz. oh - except they are close by
