Drs Cynthia and Victor are fabulous, and the rest of the team are just as terrific! We first found High Street Road Animal Hospital a few years ago when our poor girl Kirra had been throwing up all morning. She ended up having a blockage of a HUGE piece of rubber (still no idea how she managed that), but Dr Victor explained everything to us, the cost, the risk, how she would heal, and what would likely happen if we chose not to go ahead with the surgery. We chose to, and Kirra came home to us as good as new, although very tired from her big day. She healed perfectly, and they answered our many questions and concerns with so much kindness, we'll never forget it. Our other dog, Bear, is/was/working on it a reactive GSD, and the whole team are just so amazing with her, and are willing to work with us to keep her happy and healthy. They're so incredibly understanding and kind, as well as being realistic, and we can't thank Dr Cynthia enough for the empathy she and the team show whenever Bear needs medication or treatment. If you're looking for a vet that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of your beloved pets, High Street Road Animal Hospital is the one to go to.

Caring team. I'm adding to my review because we've had amazing care from the team in the past few months. Dr Rachel and the team gave me great advice on hand rearing two abandoned kittens. We had a realistic view of the chances of succeeding. Unfortunately one of the kittens passed as the other emergency vet we took her to did not want to try to save her. Dr Rachel on the other hand, saw us last thing on a Friday night, when 4 wk old Creampuff, was quite literally on death's door. Very high temperature, dehydrated and a massive bacterial infection. Dr Rachel gave us no false hope but was willing to treat him with antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids if we were willing to do the hard yards overnight to keep up his fluids. Dr Rachel and the team followed up by phone the next morning to check up on Creampuff and were great dealing with the pharmacy when his follow up meds needed to be changed. Creampuff survived and has thrived. Now a healthy 14 wk old kitten. He's the white one in my pictures.

Love this place! I found them after moving to Melbourne a few years ago and couldn't be happier. Even while dealing with the death of one of my beloved dogs, they were compassionate and incredibly patient. I've found pricing to be very reasonable, with follow ups to major procedures often included (big change from my previous vet). I have been very impressed with the level of service and understanding. Particularly as my partner and I both work full time, it also helps that they offer a wide range of times for appointments. Even at short notice, I never have trouble getting an appointment. Very happy to have found a place where they understand that our pets are a big part of the family!

Our cat is currently under care by Dr Murray Clarke for the past 24 hours due to a blood clot. During this awful time, his care, knowledge and professionalism is holding us together. He was the only vet to diagnose our cat with a heart condition and after a specialist told us our cat would only live for 3 - 12 months and prescribed no course of treatment, Dr Murray put our cat on heart medication and our cat is now 2.3 years on from initial diagnosis and has had no health concerns until yesterday. Everyone at the animal hospital is genuinely caring and i feel very reassured my cat is getting the best possible care at this time of crisis. I couldn't thank the team enough.

I wouldn't go anywhere else. Rachel, Renee and the staff (and Richard when he was still working) have been caring, understanding and beyond helpful in both happy and totally heart breaking situations when treating or caring for my fur babies. I know they get the best of care here, and I also know that I get honest and realistic advice on treatment required (or not required), on what's best for my pets. Its like it is for humans - go somewhere cheap with pot luck as to who you see and no knowledge of the quality of care, or go somewhere with consistency and quality where you get what you pay for and everyone is the better for it - especially the fur babies.

My reason for rating this clinic is because my mother who has a mental illness took my healthy dog to this vet many years ago, asking to put her down due to unable to pay for the vet bills. As a child and my dog was my best friend, I was an introvert and it broke my heart to come home to my mum saying 'your dog is dead' already buried in the backyard. When my dog was young, happy and bouncing with energy that same morning. If this clinic truly cares about animals, they would have rejected putting a perfectly healthy dog down and seeked other options. It has truly affected my life as an adult to this day.

The staff that work at High Street Road Animal Hospital are so kind and helpful. I have an older cat who has arthritis and a thyroid issue, and my questions have always been addressed in the most understanding and informative way. They staff are so lovely to my cat and treat him like he is their own pet. He stays at the cattery, which is clean, comfortable and spacious. I can not thank the staff enough for their help. I know that I can get a bit anxious and protective of my cat, but I have received nothing but patience and kindness when dealing with this clinic. You are all very special people!

Once a year visit, need to ask before they do any testing if there is an EXTRA price for that. Learnt a lesson last time, my cat had a dirty ear and the vet knew what it was but asked me if i wanted her to make sure it was that by checking her wax under a microscope- sure if you if yoi need to. Didnt advise me that it would cost an extra $120 for her just to do this- was slapped at the end with this surprise and it wasnt needed. Sometimes i do feel there is a little bit of extra money making when not needed. But its convenient to go there, reception is always friendly

Went in with an emergency for my cat Mia on Saturday and the vet Cynthia and nurses were so kind and attentive to her and stayed a bit late for us to make sure she pulled through and got all her notes ready for the emergency vet. She was given lots of encouraging words and pats even though she grumbled at them. They were so understanding and let me cry and stay in the room while they cared for her. We are both recuperating from the health scare and are just very thankful for your help, expertise and empathy. Thank you.

I have been coming here for a long time since my first dog. These people are just so wonderful when it comes to the well being of your pets. I cant thank them enough, if you are looking for a vet to take your pet look no other place. I have moved pretty far from them these days but i will still drive all the way to them because i have such trust in them doing an amazing job of taking care of my dogs and answering any concerns i have.

We have been bringing our dogs here for about 15 years and are very happy with all of the vets we’ve seen. The vet nurses are also very caring and attentive. Very patient with our scared and aggressive elderly dog and offer very good advice. Only reason I give 4 stars out of 5 is because their prices are on the high side and they have not yet adopted the triennial immunisation schedule in 2018 which is recommended by the experts.

The staff at High Street Road Animal Hospital are so supportive and friendly to my assistance dog Opal. They take particular care and listen to the needs of Opal in all health care requirments. The staff take the time to listen to us. We don't know what we would do without such people to help us in our need. I would like to thank the team for taking good care of our 12 year old Cavoodle when she had to have lots of teeth removed yesterday. Special thank you to the vet, Victor, who was great to deal with. It’s always a little stressful when a pet has to have surgery but I was confident that Victor would take care of her . I thought the charges were fair considering the amount of work.

I called for some guidance and the vet was so kind as to take time out of his day to speak with me and not via reception and helped to answer my questions. Whilst I had no need to visit the clinic it was through the vets advice that I was able to handle my concerns at home. Thank you for offering honest advice that wasn’t financially motivated, rare these days.

I took my old dog there for 12 years and the care provided was always exceptional - right up to his final hours as staff stayed back after hours to give him surgery. Now my new dog is receiving the same exemplary care from all the staff - they're all friendly, all professional and understanding, and all the vet nurses remember your pet.

This place has been our family vet for well over 10 years. They have always looked after our cats with care and very friendly professional manner. We have always used their cat boarding facilities and I think our cat looks like it has always had a better holiday than us when we pick them up. Would and have recommended them to anyone.

Called them for an appointment. Wanted $99 to set up an appointment. Which we agreed at least three times and said that it wasn’t an issue and we would pay. But we asked if there will be a wait to see the doctor. Again they said that we will have to pay $99. Not listening. Decided not to continue with the conversation further.

This place was excellent. We came here to look for a local vet and were very happy with everything. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. The "cat hotel" was also the best in the area and the staff really look after the pets they look after. The vet services here are also top notch. Very recommended

We went here for 12 years until we moved away. Our dog Blitz had several treatments ger including one life threatening episode. We have struggled to find the same wonderful service with a vets where we moved to because we were spoultby our experiences here. Highly recommended.

The staff here are incredible. Looked after our dog Kiwi so well. Very prompt with follow ups and any concerns/silly questions from me were answered, always taking away any concerns I had! Thanks to the team kiwi was back to 100% after the cone of shame for a couple weeks.

I found them to be very professional during these difficult times. They managed to fit my sick cat in very quickly and were able to give her medication even though she was very nervous. Rachel rang me with test results the same day. My cat recovered very quickly.

Refuses to take wildlife it is their duty of care, after reading your response I appreciate nurses taking babies home, they don't need feeding every 2-3 hours. 4 hourly is fine. You still need to direct the public to a 24 hour vet not just refusing them thanks

Very friendly service and was well organised even during COVID time when I wasn't able to enter the building myself, just bought my pets and phoned at the door to bring them in. However a bit costly compared to previous vets I've visited in the past.

Terrible customer service, very high prices compared to other clinics. The vet did all the paperwork wrong so we had to go back the day after waisting our time, and he didnt even say a sorry while been ironic. I do not recommend this place

Good with the dog but a bit over priced and like someone else mentioned they suggest all of these tests and then slap you with a huge bill after. Would be nice if they told you the cost first so you can decided whether or not to go ahead.
