I bought a volvo c30 there, the pre-purchase service was good. They kept calling me regarding my purchasing. BUT, the suspension started to make noise within three months after purchase. As I am in Tasmania, I went to a local mechanic to check and identify the problem, and then email their proof to Highbury. Milton promised to call back, but I never get his response. I've called them several times over the past two months, but have got no response at all. I now give up, and have to fix the problem myself. Although the staffs there are friendly, they are helpless in problem solving. And I'm extremely disappointed by the purchase. Not recommended at all, especially if you are from another state. Update: They finally made it to call me within 1 hour after I posted this review. As I don't trust them any more and don't like to talk to them, I didn't answer the phone calls. They finally made it to reply my previous emails and pointed out the "mistakes" in my review, and declared that their reputation is damaged (didn't think of that before this?). According to the sender, they normally call clients rather than sending messages and emails (how did they manage to email me at last...interesting). They also insisted that they've called me couple of times during the past months (it's interesting that I haven't received any but the two calls after this review). I was reaaaaaaly surprised by their efficiency in communication after the review. Please note: no apologies and solutions were provided in both of their emails. Anyway, I am just trying to write in an objective way. It's up to you whether to buy cars there.

We decided to explore buying a car from Highbury Automotive based on good Google Reviews. However, there were some aspects of the experience that have not sat well for us. We were shopping for a particular used car and there were 5-10 available in Victoria. We were not quite yet decided on a few parameters: power of motor, colour, a few options, etc. Milton said to us that we could only test drive the car if we would buy the car at the indicated price. We stated we wanted to drive the car and then make a decision as to whether we wanted to buy it. Then we were told we could only test drive the car if Milton came with us. I don't think I have ever had a test drive where this was a requirement. My wife was the driver and she felt quite uncomfortable with an unfamiliar person sitting in the front seat with her. As part of the negotiation, we were told that if we wanted to buy an extended warranty, then we needed to purchase this when we bought the car. I have subsequently made enquiries with an extended warranty company and this is not the case. Lastly, the car was sold to another party on the following Monday morning. 5 days later the car is still being shown on Carsales as being available. There is another reviewer on Google Reviews who questions whether sold cars are left on Google reviews as bate...

Just purchased an MY17 Audi Q7 S Line off Milton and Michael at Highbury Automotive and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. This is the second car we have bought off these guys now due to the very high quality and up level specifications of the vehicles they sell (First car was a Range Rover Evoque MY 16.5). Both times we have purchased cars, the building was full of cars displaying a SOLD sign on them, and I totally understand why. Even after buying the cars, if we had a question it was never too much trouble for 1 of them to return our call with an answer. They also have a very well appointed service and repair centre next door which we now use to do all our servicing and repairs. We are extremely happy with the cars purchased and the way Milton and Michael dealt with us and all our questions. We were also able to purchase a 3 year unlimited kilometre warranty with the car which was just extra peace of mind for us. In all honesty, after discovering Highbury Automotive it has become our first point of call when updating any of our cars as the service and quality we have received is second to none. Don’t hesitate in going and having a look at what they have.

A mixed bag of experiences. Friendly customer service, but at the end of the deal they cheap out on things that made the deal have a cloud over it. Selling a vehicle with only 3 months of registration and putting $120 tyres on a Porsche sports car (and overstating the cost to the business to do this). I feel it was a good vehicle at the end of the day, but as I said, parts of the deal support the distrust we have of used car dealers. Finding out they were putting some seriously low budget tyres on my vehicle when I arrived to collect it when they ordered the tyres a week earlier, this should have been disclosed and discussed, they knew I wasn't going to be happy as the owner met me at the door to try to calm me down. I was actually happy when I picked up a screw in a tyre while driving as it gave me an excuse to replace the tyres with something worthwhile. Be aware of these things and negotiate accordingly. That said, the quality of the vehicle was good, they disclosed issues as required, but the beware the usual "we have had so many calls about this car" lines being fed to you.

I would not recommend Highbury Automotive to anyone as I do not agree with their assessment of what constitutes excellent condition. I started the process of purchasing a used car interstate as their advertisement seemed to indicate this was a speciality of theirs. The vehicle I was looking at was described as being in excellent condition and priced well above the market for other like models. I paid a $1,000 deposit, pending a satisfactory result from an independent report. Unfortunately, the report revealed some undisclosed damage to the body and wheels. I decided not to proceed with the sale (I had not yet signed any contracts) and requested that my deposit be returned to me. I was advised that they would be retaining a percentage of the deposit because they felt that they had put in some work although when I asked what percentage, I was advised that they would need to work that out. Since then the dealer has not responded to any of my phone calls, SMS or emails and I can only assume they intend to keep 100% of my deposit.

Lost 2 Landrovers in the NSW floods. After much searching we found a low mileage Discovery 4 Graphite MY16.5. This was for sale from Highbury Motors, Burwood, Melbourne Vic. Milton Seferis, the owner, of this family business was good enough to take our call on a Saturday evening. We were the first enquiry and Milton held that vehicle in our name until we flew to Melbourne and were able to sight it. Even though the photos were detailed the vehicle as presented exceeded our expectations. We have owned this vehicle for 6 months and have driven around parts of Australia including the outback in this time. It was recently serviced by a Land Rover Specialist in Sydney NSW. Comments made were this vehicle is in outstanding condition. We highly recommend this honest straight forward man and his family, to anyone purchasing a prestige.superior vehicle.

It was an amazing and pain free experience. An unexpected and continued pleasure to purchase a vehicle from Highbury Automotive. Milton is everything but the stereotype car salesman. He knows cars and loves cars. He will not have anything in his yard that is not worthy of respect and has no interest in just selling a vehicle. He is an experienced high-end mechanic who has to be sure there will be an enduring and happy marriage between owner and vehicle (based on trust and credentials). I still find it hard to believe how excellent my vehicle is and how trustworthy and honest a dealer Milton is. My only problem with the car is that it is just too good to be true! I would not even consider purchasing a vehicle from anywhere else for the remainder of my life!

I purchased a Landrover Freelander 2 from Milton and I found him and his family business to be nothing short of exceptional to deal with. From the moment I arrived to have a look at my future car I felt no pressure from Milton, he simply let the car do the talking (which it did on my test drive!). As I also traded my old car in and needed finance, Milton organised Mark from Stratton to help with financial side of things. Mark too was great to deal with. Every step of buying a car from Milton at Highbury Automotive services was seamless and very efficient. I was in my car a day after agreeing on the price (very reasonably priced too!). Very bad experience with this dealership. Purchased a Landrover Discovery and had it transported to Qld. Once arrived it had very bad shutter in front steering and brakes. Had Landrover inspect the vehicle and found Hydra bushs in front end, and brake pads worn out. Brake rotors badly warped and need replacement. Sent detailed report to Milton as car was still under warranty. Milton flatly refused to honour warranty and repair vehicle. Have worn-out part to show him also to validate reported issues. Said he is tired of delivering vehicles then having people coming back with issues/problems. Sounds like this is a common theme. Would definitely not purchase off this man again or recommend Highbury Automotive.

Found these guys through carsales when looking to replace my Range Rover with a Range Rover Sport. As an interstate buyer and not having personally nor locally inspected, all various questions were answered and photographed as requested. The trade was viewed in QLD and Dan who inspected it was the same guy who checked it out on another deal i started in Sydney a few months earlier that I terminated. Milton calls or texts back quite promptly, all transport was arranged by Highbury Automotive, and having delivered the day before heading overseas (writing from OS now) I have not much of turn to drive it, my assistant says it's great and he is a Range Rover Sport nutter !! 10 out of 10 for Milton and his team

I recommend Highbury Automotive to anybody looking to purchase a quality car. I recently bought a Volvo from Highbury. As an interstate buyer I had a test drive on a visit to Melbourne. After some initial communication delays with email, Milton explained that phone calls was his preferred communication medium. After resolving that I felt comfortable to purchase interstate. The high quality of vehicles for sale in the Highbury yard, gave me the confidence to trust in reliability of the car for a long journey back home. The purchase process was smooth and Highbury even provided a limo to pick me up from the airport! I had a good drive home due to the great condition of the car and I am very happy with it.

Disappointing. I drove 45 minutes to look at a car, giving 2 days notice, then 1 hour's notice. Milton so unhelpfully wanted me to commit to the purchase without a test drive (because it was too hard to move the cars that were around it, despite the previous notices), or without allowing pre-purchase inspection. Me: Can I take the car for a test drive? Milton: Only if you're going to buy it Me: Er...not sure if I haven't driven it yet. Milton: I'll only move the car if you're going to buy it. There are too many cars to get to it. I guess I'm just the wrong clientele for any kind of service. Feels like a $5000 car doesn't warrant friendly or helpful service.

Do yourself a favour and disregard their ‘service’ they carry out before you buy your car. they literally did not even change the oil in my car, the cabin filter and air filter was full of dust, leaves, and dirt, and they have the audacity to stamp your log book. A real service carried out by my own mechanic revealed the lack of care undertaken by their ‘mechanics’. Would never recommend this business. Not a fake review, car was a 2003 VW Golf, even had to bring the car back about a month after purchase as apparently the rwc was 'lost' by vicroads and a new one had to be done, which was an inconvenience. Should definitely be in your system

We bought a Discovery 4 from Milton at Highbury Automotive 9 months ago and have been very happy with the car and also very happy with Milton's after sales service. Unlike other dealers, Milton appears to take real pride in his vehicles and in keeping his customers happy even after the purchase. This even extended to taking a call from us on a Sunday when we had an issue with the car (turned out to just be a battery problem). Knowing that the team will help to solve any niggles removes a lot of the concern around buying a premium vehicle second hand and we would certainly recommend Highbury Automotive.

It was a leap of faith on my behalf to purchase an expensive vehicle from an interstate dealership without ever personally viewing or driving the vehicle. I bought a MY13 Volvo XC90 from Highbury in Dec 2017. I had not left a review so far as I wanted to use the vehicle thoroughly before feedback. I have now done more than 5000 kms on the car including long trips across different states. It feels new and drives like new and is an absolute pleasure. Milton’s sale process was non-fussy and I have not had to make a single visit back to have any niggles fixed. I’m convinced that Milton has an instinct that helps him pick great cars to trade in. I highly recommend Highbury to anyone considering a pre-owned prestige vehicle. You can’t go wrong.

Hmmmm, not sure why some have perceived poor service. My husband and I purchased a car dealing with Milton, Cathy and Prix car transport. We live in the ACT, the car was sourced on line then we dealt with Milton and Cathy arranged everything. Car arrived a day ahead of schedule and beautifully presented with all the inclusions safely packed inside. Milton doesn't haggle as he knows his price is fair and his stock is quality. At the end of 2018, I purchased a Discovery 4 from Milton at Highbury Automotive. Given that I was from Western Australia, I was naturally concerned about not being able to view the vehicle personally and the process of shipping the car back to Perth. After having my car a month I thought I'd do a review. I bought a great luxury car at a great price from Milton. It was the cheapest in Australia. I've done one big interstate trip in it and it performed beautifully. When buying the car there were no games & no hassles. They willingly arranged RACV inspection (replaced a seatbelt because of inspection) and transport, and even after delivery chased down the previous owner for a spare key and mailed it to me as promised. In summary very happy.

I bought my Subaru from these guys. and I loved the way they handled everything. right from loan approval to getting the keys in my hand. I was impressed how they went around to get the automatic key for my car when i told them that my wife will be using it for school runs and automatic key is absolute essential. I always get my car service done here and they are amazing in that as well.

Did have a problem with the car (engine mount cracked) totally not Milton's fault and unforeseeable, yet he still replaced under the 3 month warranty.
