I called The Hive inquiring about cutting my dreads off. I spoke with a gentleman named Charles, and we agreed that I'd come in for a consultation to see what kind of hair we could salvage and then go from there. On the day of the actual appointment, I was totally second guessing my decision on removing them, and what a mistake it would have been if I wouldn't have! I have never had such a good experience at a barber! The pain was horrible (as one can imagine, with the kind of work at hand) and still, I come out saying Charles is hands down the best hairdresser I've ever had. I felt like I was spending time with an old friend. He works quickly, all the while being such a wonderful person to converse with. The cut I was left with is brilliant! It styles easily, and suits my face shape so well. The price was entirely reasonable for how long (and hard) he worked on removing my dreads, as well. I have literally only good things to say about my experience!

Made a spontaneous decision to go see Amy for the first time yesterday...It was a fantastic experience and the best cut I’ve had in a long time. The salon was accommodating getting me booked in by phone, and my appointment began right on schedule. Amy was completely thorough with my cut, and efficient with my time, both equally appreciated ! She listened to what I was saying and was able to translate it into exactly what I wanted done. To take it even one step further, at the end of my appointment, she graciously offered to ‘correct’ her work at a later date, should I happen to notice anything in need of fixing! How very reassuring and professional! I left feeling impressed and extremely happy with my hair! worst place ive ever been. stylist seemed to barely understand english. the receptionist both misspelled and mispronounced my name. shop is cramped. some of the hair washing stations are by the washing machine in the back. stylist did not listen to me and i cut the appointment short because the stylist had already messed up the back of my head, and i didn't want to let her have a go at the sides or my bangs. literally told her multiple times to stop cutting and she would not. still cost over forty bucks.

Very unprofessional hairdresser. During the hair cut, I can actually feel his breath on my face because his face was getting very inappropriately close to mine. Then unexpectedly he touched my face to brush off strand of hair. Normally other hairdressers will use a makeup brush to sweep the hair off a client's face. No standards here. And, may I add: What a pervert. I will never go there again for anything.

Hive Hair is a very nice place. It might not have the latest chic décor but the stylists are knowledgeable, professional, and polite which is what matters at the end of the day. I had a very good experience with Charles who was very skilled and made me feel comfortable in his chair. I would, however, avoid Amy Rempel – she has a lot of attitude and is not nearly as nice as everyone else at the salon.

Was my first tine here recommend by a friend .First the customer service is excellent . Overall the service provided was excellent . I highly recommend this salon will be coming back you have a full time customer .The service provided by this stylist was excellent her name is Kaelen . I was overcharged by Amy, who also dyed my hair the wrong color. It was supposed to be violet and she dyed it fire engine red. I have been trying to wash the color out for months as it looks horrible. When I told her I thought it was too bright, she told me to just look in a different mirror.

I’m from out of town and needed an all over cut and color. Charles took good care of me and the results were beautiful. He listened to what I wanted and that’s exactly what I got. I also appreciate him fitting me in within days that I called for an appointment.

Haircuts have been very traumatizing for me in the past, but Charles totally understands this and provides the best possible experience for me. He makes sure I'm comfortable the whole time. I always walk away feeling peaceful and stress-free. Thanks Charles!!

The ladies at the Hive were fabulous when my daughters and I went in to have our hair styled for a wedding!! They catered to each girl and we left feeling great and looking fabulous!! Couldn't recommend them enough!
