I had never been to a home goods before but always wanted to go, so when my husband and I ended up close to one we decided to go. Our first impression was extremely less than satisfactory. I worked in retail management for many years, so I understand both sides of the counter. I understand that sometimes your store can get busy, and you just don't have enough employees to accommodate, however that's when you should see every employee come together, to include and especially the management to assist your customers and get them out the door and on their way. Well that wasn't the case on this visit, in fact it was the exact opposite. When we stepped in line there was there was already 2 different customers, the one being waited clearly had a lengthy transaction, so when that 3rd person stepped in line she should have called for backup (I learned later she had none). The customer ahead of us whom was already there when we stepped in line so I'm not sure how long she had been there, but after we had been there for a few minutes, she was clearly becoming agitated. She politely asked the cashier to ask for backup, by this time there were at least a total of 5 maybe 6 different customers in line, she was still on the first sale. The cashier called for backup, many times in fact, but it never came, even though you could clearly see other employees moving about the store. We had finally made it to the register, at this point a person who I'm assuming was managment had made his way to the front, but not to help....... He stood there with his back to us, not even once did he turn around and acknowledge this line of customer's, who clearly chose this store to shop, but didn't have to, because there are many other stores that are comparable. The only thing he did while standing there was call for backup, which by the way never came while I was in the store. If I were that manager, first of all I would have came up and at least acknowledged the customer's and apologized for their wait, and let them know I was doing everything I could to make sure we were going to get them out the door as quickly as possible. He failed miserably, his body language clearly stated that he did not care. I reassured the very nervous cashier that it was not her fault, that clearly the management had failed her and the customer's, she attempted to defend them, because he was still standing there and absolutely refused to turn around and deal with the situation. At this point I asked for the corporate number, which she had no idea what it was, but here's this guy still standing there with his back to us, still refusing to acknowledge our existence. As I stated in the beginning it was my first time in a Home Goods, however it was also my last. The picture of the receipt is just to show our visit and that I'm not just randomly giving bad reviews.
Customer service for this location is severely lackluster, if not awful. Selection of items is average compared to other stores. Some items are not priced so you never know what you're paying. (If you're within the Jax area, the best store to go to is Southside Blvd. Awesome, friendly customer service and a large variety of items thanks to the ever-rotating inventory. It's always busy, but so worth it!) Out of all of the HomeGoods store I've been to, this one fails to meet up to the standards of the others. There are never enough associates around to help and if you happen to come across one, expect a haughty attitude. I've been to this specific location about 7 separate times and on each visit, I keep encountering the same. exact. cashier (who happens to be the ONLY one there as well). He's always rude and so judgmental about your purchases. Forget about returning items as well. He takes his time and loudly exclaims how time-consuming it is while doing it. Oddly enough, regardless of how busy it is, there's never enough on staff. On one occasion, I brought along my autistic brother (who also has Down's) to browse with. He wandered off for a bit and eventually ended up checking out the hanging rugs in the back. A few moments later, I hear a commotion and go to check it out. It turns out he was browsing through the rugs and was reprimanded by an associate for touching them without his consent. I'm sorry, WHAT? It'd be understandable if he was a child and playing and messing around with them, but my brother is a 20 year old man. He's the sweetest, extremely courteous, and most careful human being I know who could never hurt a fly. Yelling at him over something that everyone else is allowed to do is wrong. While I highly highly doubt that he did anything wrong, that incident was the final straw for me. The absolute works management and customer service I've ever experienced.
Awful customer service. We wanted to exchange/get store credit for a rug that we bought 2 months ago. The rug was very poor quality and we raked out $300 for it. When there was a small spill, we tried to clean it up by literally using a napkin and water and gently rubbing it. This ruined that part of the rug. As we were rolling to cart to the register, the cashier literally rolled her eyes and made it extremely obvious that she’s annoyed. She left and came back with the manager, who very rudely told me that we ruined the rug and they can’t take it. I tried to explain that it was the material of the rug that made it difficult to clean but she obviously could care less and basically said too bad we’re not taking it. So so rude and nasty to us, made me feel very embarrassed and looked at me like I’m stupid. How can people like that be managers? She could’ve at least nicely explained that they can’t take it. HomeGoods is one of my favorite stores, but I’m definitely never returning to this location.
Was sent an email to review-think it posted on Yulee site. Over the last 3 months, things have really went badly downhill at this Homegoods on Atlantic, 32225 zip code. The main problems are the way they're doing their markdowns. They mark select things in seasonal, miss some and you don't know if it's been lowered or not. I found several discrepancies when shopping. I want to make sure pricing is correct. Overall, management has become short, rude and doesn't want to hear your legitimate complaint-they tell you to call corporate. They don't know how to give and be a great customer service manager. Homegoods is my favorite place, but don't want to spend money in such an environment. They really need to address these issues and get them in check!! .
I was excited to know they where opening a home goods in this location. Love the store. But customer service here a bit disappointed. Took me 10 mins to find an associate to bring down a rug I wanted to buy. Went to stand in cashier line, they only had one cash register open. And 5 people in line. By the time i got up to the front of the line 3 customers behind me left their items and walked out, the cashier line was way too long. The only cashier they had Called for more cashiers but no one showed up. I hope they change things around good store just sad to spend 1 hour waiting just to get help and check out. I ended up loading the big rug myself into my car cause I could not waste anymore time waiting on loading help.
I was buying 6 lamps which was almost a $300 purchase. One lamp had 4 fingerprints on the white lampshade that looked like black carbon print. When I got to the register I asked if I could get a discount for the one lamp that was marked with fingerprints and the store manager Alex Vessy said no discount. I said I’m purchasing 6 lamps and he said no it’s not worth it and didn’t seem to care either way. I walked out without buying any lamps because I can’t see paying full price for something that looks used. Bad store policy, bad manager.
What a cluster! So much stuff in one small store it's hard to believe! My kid was enamored with the toys and the 10× mirror, but there was a lot more than that. Furniture, bedding, lighting, ahh I'll tell ya what. Saturday afternoon it was like a bee hive in there it was so busy. Prices were all over in my opinion. Some high, some low, but most in line with other places. They've got some interesting pieces like a feather lamp set for a girls bedroom. Stop in and give them a look. You might find something you weren't even looking for!
I've been coming to Home goods for a few years now and I purchase a lot of items on a regular basis for my business in for my home. Today I had the final straw with a very rude manager. He is extremely unprofessional and always has a chip on his shoulder. I've never visited a HomeGoods with such management and it before. I will not be spending my hard-earned money in the store any longer . He ruins the whole mood of the store. Corporate really needs to take a look at this particular person because he will ruin the whole experience.
If you love anything remotely similar to TjMaxx, you’ll love it’s sister store HomeGoods. There are a ton of pieces that can get your creativity juices going to decorate your house. The only thing about this store is you better get the item while you see it because most likely you’ll never see it again. I ended up purchasing some really fun metal art for the walls. I also saw some nice patio furniture if anyone is looking to spruce up the outside for a nice barbecue or maybe gardening. I guess I wish I had a larger patio :).
This is my favorite store I love going to him with sometime they are so junkie with stuff you can't hardly maneuver through the store then it's hard to find anybody to help you with anything or questions or anything it's just the one on Southside Boulevard and the one on Atlantic they are just too congested for customer to really have a good experience like the one they see on TV and I have a card for credit card for that company so I like to shop there
Who doesn't love bargain shopping for household decor? (Probably plenty of people, lol). Well if you are looking for a high end look at 1/3rd of the dept store prices this should be your first stop. I buy all of my area rugs here and they are a tremendous savings from retail and are hung on display so they air out and snap out before you put them in your home! Tons of spices, treats, stocking stuffers, dishes, bath towels and more. We love it.
Janet was extremely rude and condescending. Rolled her eyes and looked to the girl beside me like I didn’t know what I was talking about when I told her I didn’t want my single candle wrapped, it could’ve just gone in the bag solo, no need to waste more. The store itself was cluttered and dirty. Two employees sitting on phones behind counter when there was a long line.
Wow! What an amazing find! I can’t believe Homegoods carries Chinese new year decors this year! It was so hard to find good quality and decent price Chinese new year decors in Jax. They even have the red envelops in transitional Chinese. All the decor in good qualities not like the cheesy ones you found in local Asian markets. Good surprise Homegoods.
I love this store it's always clean and organize when I come in I can find things I need and some things I just spot very easily. Every associate no matter if they work the registers or just stocking things they are always helpful, and it's those things that always have myself and my family coming back to this location. Great work!!!!!!!!!!
Cashier need to attend customer service training. When a customer is paying for their items and place cash/card in your hand you and you return their change/card and the customer is standing with hand extended for you to place in their hand and you put it on the counter, that's rude and disrespectful and you are fully aware of your actions
I used to work here and I'd say it's the best HomeGoods in Jacksonville. Everyone there is very nice and will help you as best they can. It's very clean and is kept organized by the awesome floor staff. Wait time can be kind of long but come on y'all, it's HomeGoods! Be prepared to spend hours in there cause there's so much cool stuff!
I usually browse around but I always end up buying something lol, no one bothers you and let's you just be but when help is needed ppl are always around. I like going in before holidays cause they have so many new things to help decorate the house but really I just get it cause I like it or it's pretty and hoard it in my room. ^__^
They never put out new stock. Wall art section is almost always empty. I asked an associate when would be a good day, like what day of the week do they normally get stock in and she told me they have plenty of stock but it’s in the back and they haven’t had time to put it out. Like what are you doing then? lol. Very disorganized.
I visited this store today for a return. I had the RUDEST cashier I have ever experienced. I don’t frequent this particular store often as I have one near where I live but I promise I will never return to this store again. I buy 90% of my home items from homegoods and from the moment I said I had a return he had such attitude.
The best place to find designer home decorations. I buy all my dogs items here too because I like their stuff to be extra cute. I decorated my bathroom from the items jere as well. Very budget friendly and both the customers and employees are nice. Usually furniture items are over $100-200 but worth up to double that amount.
Store was stocked well, but management of cashiers to check out shoppers is terrible. A 15 minute wait, sometimes more, is the norm. Today was the same. There was 1 cashier, 3 people ahead of me, about 7 behind me, with a 15 minute wait ~ ridiculous. You can never be in a hurry and stop by Home Goods. Very frustrating.
Custome service is great store is great but I really hate the stickers that are placed on the items sides especially when its vase causing me have to scratch a glass vase.plesse ask reps to place stickers on bottom or back so customer dont have to damage products to get stickers off.
I love the store anyway, but Terah makes the experience so much better. She’s always smiling and acknowledges everyone in my family. If there are annual trainings on customer service, Terah needs to lead the trainings and show others how it’s done because she is certainly skilled.
I can always find something and HomeGoods whether I need it or not. My spot for One Stop Shop, several locations here in Jacksonville it's certainly easy to find. Carve a few hours out of your day grab a basket go in and go up and down every aisle you won't leave empty-handed
Lovely selection of items at very reasonable price clean store Friendly staff. They also had a nice selection of international treats for my friends from England,Italy ,France and other countries. There pet section was fabulous got treats and detangler for my PugTzi
My wife loves this store. Selections of merchandise are outstanding and ever changing. Like the proverbial child in a candy store, but I do enjoy watching her as she sifts through the "goods". It is a store you should not miss, even if you are only window shopping
Wow. Do you need just a special piece to display in your home? Or anything else for your home? This is the place! I bought some plastic glasses to use by the pool, but I loved walking through the store to see the vast variety of products available.
This is a nice place very clean inside nice selection of different products from different companies most of the prices were very reasonable. Lot of stuff for decorating and entertaining everything you need for home including Linens and furniture.
Super cool stuff, my 15yr old daughter loves this place. They have great stuff to personalize a teens room and bathroom. Bought these 2 sofas here $699 a piece. Had them almost a year now, love them. Oh, and that big storage ottoman it was $129
It's always fun to come and see what's new! We were looking for a Life is Good Rolling cooler and found it here! Among that we found these great just add the alcohol drink bottles ..very clever!! The Manager was awesome as well as cashier!
Pretty good, but apparently the cashier was pretty forget and charged me and the woman in front of me, and me as well twice for a few products. So just check your reciepts, which you should probably do anyways just a heads up …
Never fails to supply me with inspiration and treasures. Staff is nice and I go so often but ALWAYS find new things. Stores like this can get clustered quickly but this store is always very neat and easy to navigate through.
This store is really nice and employees are really friendly!! However, the layout is quite tight and some areas feel to crowded and junky. Neater more organized shelves would make it easier to shop. But still a nice place!
Very nice products and staff is always willing to help. But the cost indicator shows one dollar sign. You may want to bump that to 2 or 3 dollars signs. This place aint cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
There is a beautiful selection of household items, furniture, glass, imported packaged food products. It reminded me of the famous bazaars in the middle east. Almost overload, but I never leave empty-hande
Came here with my sister and my mother to pass time, needless to say we were in here for an hour. They have so many amazing things. So many decor items for any decor needs. And all at discount prices.
From all the stores I went to this one Definitely the worst. One of the rudest people work here. Last time I bought something here was only because it was sold out in the other store. Avoid this one!
So many great items at great prices. I really like this store for mirrors, flowers, pillows, and sheets. They also have a great selection of trendy lamps. Tuesdays and Fridays are delivery days.
I think this is my favorite Home Goods location. It is spacious and we'll laid out. I didn't have to wait in line to check out even though the store was crowded. It was easy to get in and out.
One of my many favorite places to shop for home decor in the U.S. It's a tad bit cluttered at times and could be better organized but other than that you can find alot of cute things there.
HomeGoods is always great for a rare find, or finding decor I didn’t know I needed! My wife introduced me to the store and personally I appreciate their availability of dog toys and treats!
This store has a phenomenal selection of all things for the home. The aisles are too small for two carts to pass, but that's the price for seemingly endless merchandise!
Lots of inventory. Variety of items is great and found exactly the piece I was looking for. Manager could use more people skills, but rest of staff were really friendly.
Be prepared to wait at check out. With five to six people waiting in line there was only one cashier. There were other staff in the store doing things other than sales.
No complaints about the employees or the store BUT who thought it was a good idea to put the price sticker on the glass of the product Stupid. Genuinely stupid.
This place always have a good quality of products at a decent price. Staff are always nice and willing to guide you in the right direction when help is needed.
They weren't totally adhering to the mask policy. Some big oaf dude was walking so loud on his cell I could smell his lunch. That's how you lost a star.
This is a great place to buy affordable things for the house. The service was friendly and the prices low. Can't ask for anything more.
Hit or miss on finding what you went there for. Check out lines are also hit or miss on lines. Items are very reasonable price wise.
I always find something fun that fits my style. So many comfy blankets and soft pillows that it is impossible to choose just one.
Everything you could ever want or need! Great place to shop. Or just browse for ideas. Many unique items from all over the world
Nice selection and fair prices. Really like an upscale dollar store. Really nice cookware and different kitchen decorations.
Great place to find plenty of choices for your home decorating needs! Found the perfect perch for my fuzzy friend ... …
Nice store. Can't seem to find what I'm looking for at this location. Busy all the time.Good verity. Jax Beach seems better
Beautiful merchandise. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Fun place to shop for unique items for your home at a good price.
Nice things, good prices, but we left them because the check out line was too long and didn't appear to be moving.
This store always have something that gets your attention. Just wish they had a few more items of same kind.
Found the perfect curtains but I blew it when I didn't get the perfect lamp to go with them …
This store was nicely stocked with items I was looking for, during my recent visit.
Super busy long wait to check out. Have the house stuff my wife likes at ok prices.
Beautifull place, very organized, very nice place to shop. I recomend.
Love this store. Great for finding unique gifts and all things "home".
Very nice workers. I love going there, never know what you will find
Home (goods) interior pieces, pillows and amazing items! I love.
I always have loved this store. Prices, variety are awesome.
I love this store... always find great deals
I really like this store. They have so much.
