I've been going to this store for about 5 months now since I moved to the area. Always a very clean, welcoming store. Friendly service, tons of selection & great prices. On this particular visit I was returning from being out of town with a bag of dog food that was giving my dog diarrhea. He had had the brand before but was eating a different flavour. I had misplaced my receipt so I wasn't aware of the return policy but thought I'd venture in anway because at the very least I needed a bag of the stuff that wouldn't make my pups belly hurt. Immediately upon entering I was addressed by a staff member asking if I needed to make a return. I explained my situation and she told me to grab the kind I wanted and to meet her at a till. She did the exchange and explained to me that the policy was exchanges made in a week with 75% of the bag left but that she would do it for me this time as most people weren't aware of the policy. It was a very quick and clean transaction and she (who later identified as the manager) was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thank you so much for being a wonderful place to shop! If I find myself moving from the area I would be very willing to go out of my way to get to this location just for support. :)

Terribly rude staff, would never step foot in this store. My boss sent me to grab parts at Lordco and supplies for his sick cat, and I was driving a truck and trailer. There was no parking on the street, and nothing in the Lordco lot, so I saw about 15 open spots here and decided to back along the curb(covering about 5 or 6 spots for those counting) a very rude female employee ran out of the store and told me I needed to move my truck, to which I nicely pointed out there was nowhere else to park including the street and she told me I needed to leave their lot and park down the street. I got to carry 80 lbs in parts down the block, and needless to say I never shopped there after. I will also be sharing this experience with every pet owner I know to make sure this place gets the least support possible. Shame on that staff member and whoever hired her, rudest person I have ever dealt with at a store with no empathy for my situation. (PS I was in Lordco for all of 10 mins)

Homes Alive Pets has been our go to place for all our commercial pet food needs - frozen raw for dogs, kibble for dogs and cats, and litter for the cats. They've also been great with the picky eater policy- you can return the food if your pet didn't take to it within a limited timeframe and a few other reasonable conditions. Our cats are picky and we've had to use this policy once or twice, especially with the supply chain issues causing low and out of stock conditions with some food manufacturers that we were used to. Discount on the first Tuesday of the month is great to stock up, though you should be prepared for a very long wait and possibly no/low stock. Make sure to get an account registered when you go to collect rewards dollars - it adds up, and you'll also be able to participate in another discount program that some manufacturers offer - every 13th bag free. It feels great to be "surprised" when your $80 bag of dog food is suddenly free once in a while!

I would give them even more stars if I could! I have only ever had great experiences at Homes Alive Pets north. The selection is huge and the staff is all extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. One of the staff members spent over 20 minutes helping me go through nearly every single brand of dog food they carry (which is a crazy amount)to find one my dog wouldn't have allergies to and that was made in Canada. These girls can spout out so much information about the food and products they offer, it makes all the difference and helps you know you've really made the right choice. They have a section at the back with sale and clearance items that always has a big variety of things in it, we love to scope it out to grab some last minute treats for the cats and dog. Holly loves that the staff ask if they can give her a treat after we've finished our shopping. Thank you Homes Alive for being our go to for all things pets

Awesome place to shop for all your pet's needs! They have a huge selection of kibble, freeze dried/dehydrated, canned, and frozen options! Something perfect for every pet and their dietary needs. I love the bulk mix and match section as it allows me to get exactly what I need and how much I want. It gets even better, because if you buy prepackaged things in bulk you save! They have the best dehydrated Canadian sourced meat treats in perfect snack and training sizes; it is their in-house brand and my dogs go crazy for it! With 5 protein options, you can definite please even the pickiest of palates. Their Picky Pet Food promise allows you to bring back opened food you've purchased within a week or so with your receipt, in the original packaging, if your pet doesn't like it or if you have any issues (the majority of the food still needs to be present) for refund or exchange.

Well 1 very last time this business gets any of my money for my pet they wont take credit card over the phone so they can lose out we get a secured card with secured amount on it and the usa and Canada other business take my card but they dont or wont so why bother we should never have had to get a credit card in the first place it's useless to these types of Canadian businesses wow un-secured card I can understand that but a secured card makes no sense so they get payed for the product first then it gets picked up I see nothing wrong with that but this business does and when you are disabled retired and dont live in the city there is no harm you dont get payed when card is run you dont give to person picking up the product simple drugs have to be a major factor here just wow

Definitely my favourite pet store in the city hands down! As a pet store employee at a different chain I go out of my way to shop here even when I could get a discount at my store. Out of the two locations I prefer this one hands down. The customer service here is always amazing and the staff is super helpful and willing to help if needed. They stay well stocked which is definitely hard to say for most stores. The selection is also really amazing! A lot of low ingredient and nutritionally better items than other stores in the city. It's also always kept really clean. If I had to say anything negative it would be that it is a little cramped for the sheer variety and amount of product and there is no small animal section but otherwise they always have what I need!

Changing my 5 star review to a 2. This place used to be amazing with a great variety for all animals and incredible staff that were knowledgeable, helpful and made you feel almost like family. Since the south side location opened, however, they’ve greatly decreased their small animal inventory and have new staff that make you feel more like an inconvenience than anything else. They constantly miss their discount tags and charge full price, and don’t always honor their in store coupons. If you need help, it’s almost pointless to ask staff anymore as they don’t seem to know much about their products or animals in general. I really hope they turn things around because I’m one more uncomfortable trip there from changing where I shop.

We were referred here from a friend since getting our pup in November and have been coming back monthly. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a REALLY amazing supply of everything honestly... We were in shock when we went here for the first time because we could believe how big the store was and how much selection there is. Waaay better than PetSmart or one of those chain places. They offer 10% off first Tuesday of the month but you can also use it another time in the month if you don't want to use it that day. They also offer you a free bag of food after a certain number (can't remember if it's 7 or 11). If you have a critter you should check it out

This store is always so clean, organized and has a great atmosphere. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. I can have a toy in mind, and they'll show me where it is. And if they don't have it, they'll direct me to a similiar toy. They have so many brands to choose from. Toys, food, treats, clothes, etc. And a big shoutout to Lauren. She actually talked me out of one toy and recommended another toy. I threw her so many curveballs and she adapted to my personal requests. My Aussie is now SLEEPING after playing with the toy she recommended. I will constantly recommend this store to future pet lovers I meet. There's something for everyone here!

The staff are knowledgeable about all pets and breeds. They have the same feelings about pets as we do they're family and treated as such. They go out od the way to answer questions and concerns and one thing I like is that they don't try to up sell products dog and cat food are crazy $$$ right now and they are more than happy to provide opinions that don't differ much from what you may be using now. They helped me find a good quality dog food option because the brand I was using jumped 50$ a bag within a week and when you got 2 dogs @ 200Lb each price and quality are a must. I would highly recommend visiting this location.

Update to Jordan White's Review. I went to give my uniform back and the managers were rude. Shauna decided to give ME attitude when I asked why they didnt talk to me if I had attitude before they fired me. Then she took me to Sam and I asked the same question. SAME ATTITUDE!!! They also DEAD NAMED ME on PURPOSE. I have a preferred name for a reason and they decided to not respect it. I know the reason they didnt answer my question is because they dont have an excuse for firing me or any proof of my "attitude." I will be making a video and posting it on social media of what happened in DETAIL!!!! TRASH COMPANY!!!

If you want organic foods and HEALTHY brands for your dogs, this should be considered. Keep in mind though they GREATLY lack cat and other animal products, like 75% of the store is for dogs....so not great as an option in that regard, for other kinds of animal parents. Also, I struggled to find cat food that wasn't almost triple what I would pay for the decent no by-product and grain free cat food that our cats are used too already, which we can order from Amazon....and we also bought a water drinking fountain here and they had no filters in stock, so I just bought those from Amazon too ‍♂️

Home Alive is a great store. The prices are good and the selection is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have one of the best selections of dog food and toys in Edmonton, and they carry great quality and hard to find products. The first Tuesday of the month tends to be quite busy because of their 10% off promo but it's nice to get a deal on pet Staples like food and treats. They also have a monthly draw which you are entered in every time you make a purchase and they give you reward dollars for every purchase. Overall they are my favorite pet store in the city.

My favorite pet product store! This store carries a load of products that you don't find in other pet stores. They also have the best staff who are always available to answer questions and provide product information. On top of it all, they have very reasonable prices and offer a free discount program for customers as well product discount coupons that are available for a wide selection of products on a regular basis. Staff are always friendly, helpful and kind when we visit. My dog is always spoiled with treats and pets, and we're always feeling welcome in the store. When we had to buy a large travel crate, staff allowed us to take the display model and test it out in our SUV trunk. This customer service is so appreciated! We've had to buy and exchange coats and booties because of wrong sizes, and they've never had issues with returns. Always outstanding service!!! We also recently tried home delivery due to COVID-19, and the order arrived so quickly!!! Homes Alive Pets is fantastic!!!

I'm happy to continue shopping here for pet supplies. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of different brands and types of food and treats available, and prices are good (there is often a coupon available for my dog's favorite brand). I had some tags engraved here once and the staff member who helped me was very helpful and it didn't take them very long. The loyalty shopping program here is also top notch and I recommend everyone who frequently shops here should sign up. All in all, a great place that I highly recommend.

This is a great pet store. They carry top-quality brands from food to accessories. They even have online shopping with fast, and even, free shipping with a minimum spend amount. The staff are friendly. To give them a 5-star rating, I would love to see a wider selection of cat accessories - namely adventure-cat-type outdoor clothing. I've only ever seen clothing for dogs with a very limited offering of xxs or even just xs =( Also, I think their cat food aisles could be better organized. I always feel overwhelmed trying to find kitten-specific food, for example.

Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, easily available without being intrusive. Today I had to bring in a dog jacket for exchange. They didn't have the size we needed so we were going to settle for one size too large. The staff located the correct size for us at a different location, and offered to have it transferred for us. On our way home afterward, she called to confirm that the correct size had already been located and is en route. I'm very impressed by the extra effort and personalized service. I feel valued as a customer.

This is my go-to place for everything pets. It has great selection and is always neat and organized. I haven't written a review until today because the service I just got from Massimo (I hope that was your name... I'm sorry I should have checked your name tag closer!). I was looking for a specific sized bag of cat food that they didn't happen to have; he checked all the other stores for me but to no avail, so then he cheered me up with some free samples! I hope to see him there every time I go back for pet supplies now!

They have so much supplies! It's like a pet owners dream come true! Best selection for everything! #1shop to look for leash and collar supplies they littrally have every color of the rainbow! It's better than shopping online for toys that tough. I have a dog that chews through everything and they made some great recommendations! Some of the toys I was looking at online to ship would have costed $50 but at thier location was only $22. Plus 10% off on the first of every month makes it really affordable!

They help you find what you're looking for, make suggestions about other products you might be interested in, and help you out to your vehicle if you need it. The prices are very good, lower than most of their competitors. The selection of products is great, and if they don't have what you want, they try to find it for you. Overall an excellent business with excellent staff.

They are so helpful here! They will get items brought in from their other store on the south side if need be. Saves me almost an hour drive out of my way! I am really glad I started coming here when Petsmart ran out of the only food my old pet will eat. It is worth the drive with such great selection and helpful staff. Also, I would never have tried duck hearts for my pet if they didn’t suggest it. Never knew what the odd looking thing was. My pet loves it!!

Highly recommend Homes Alive Pets on St. Albert Trail. All the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The staff always go above and beyond to educate me on different options to feed my puppy for optimal health. Stella loves seeing all the friendly faces there. I would like to leave names of the amazing staff that have helped me: Kira, Regan, Emily, Bethany, and Hannah. There are a couple more employees, I just don’t know their names.

We use to get raw dog food from Complete K9. But the business had a major fire and had to close down for awhile. We we scrounging to find another place that we could get raw dog food. We were told about Homes Alive Pets. We're paying a little more for food but still a reasonable price, but our dogs like the food. Pleasant staff that were able to help us and they were knowledgeable. I recommend this place. Thank you to the friendly staff.

If you have a dog this is the place to go. It took me over 1 year to find out about this place but it's my favorite one now. Their selection is amazing, the other national chain pet store on Skyview is always empty but Homes Alive is always on stock. They always have coupons for dog food so you pay way less and they also have the buy 11 get the 12 bag for free program. Their prices are in the high side but totally worth it.

It's a great pet store, they have a lot of stuff and the prices usually can't be beat compared to other pet stores. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They allow pets and the staff are always very pleasant with our crazy dog. It's probably our favourite pet store, plus they have a 10 percent discount you can use once a month which is great for buying our dog food. Highly recommend this store!

Great place, friendly and knowledgeable staff. My only reason for not loving it anymore is the loyalty program for bags bought doesn't work the same way they tell you at the beginning, for some reason the amount of bags you buy don't add up. We were up to 9 of 12 bags but told the other day that only 3 count, so do your and decide for yourself if it's worth it. We will move our business back to St.Albert.

So helpful! I was unsure about food for two new kittens and the floor staff were very knowledgeable and were able to guide me to the best choice for both my budget and the kittens' health. And being new to the store, the cashier was especially helpful in explaining the loyalty/rewards program and extended an additional discount where she could. I will definitely be an ongoing customer!

Pretty large store with good selection. I will say that they are a bit lacking in "natural" options for some products, such as toothpaste, if that matters a lot to you. They do have a pretty good line-up of raw foods, though, with a pretty good rewards program as well. You can also get 10% off one purchase per month, as a member, which we use to buy all of our dog food for the month.

If you are shopping for a Dog, this is by far the best pet store I’ve been to in the Edmonton area. Massive selection, tons of cool toys and gadgets for your pets. They also have a huge section of fresh dog and cat food. Lots of staff if you need help and everyone was very friendly. They seem to cater to only dogs and cats but if that is what you have this place is awesome.

Always love coming here. My new go-to spot for anything pet related. Helpful, laid back and happy staff. Massive selection of dry, dehydrated and raw foods. Simple return policy for fussy pets. Huge selection on dog coats, leashes, collars, led lights, treats- everything! I especially like the poster board offering services from regular people! Such a great spot.

It is no surprise that homes alive pets is very popular here at Edmonton when it comes to pet products. Their customer service was excellent too and their recommendations were most of the times onpoint. Their selection of products was astonishing. I've been here a lot of times since I am taking care of 3 cats and I trust the brands that were at this store a lot.

They let me bring in my big puppy who is a bit rambunctious. All the staff were very helpful, and the selection is great! Many varieties of healthy treats, and lots of food! The prices are good, comparable to other stores, and sale prices are awesome. It was nice to be able to let my picky pup pick his own treats! We will for sure be going back!

Wow! What a pet store! I was looking for . specific type of dog food and that's how I found this place online. They have such a wide selection for cat and dog items and was the only place I could find large oxtails for my pup. I couldn't stop talking about everything they had to my husband. This store was so big that I was quite intimidated when I walked in the front door. Chelsea greeted me at the front door and walked me through everything! Fantastic store! Lots of selection. Many brands I haven't seen at the other big-box pet stores. They have a big section of dog clothes, especially jackets. Some really great for serious winter. Prices were fair, staff was friendly. They open until 10pm, 6 days a week which is a nice touch. Will most definitely be returning

We buy the majority of our dog's food, vitamins, probiotics, and of course treats at Homes Alive Pets. Everything we is there, and our dog, Sky, gets lots of pets from all the staff, of course they have a treat for him at check out. The staff is very knowledgeable, and friendly, so if you have questions they have answers.

We were helped by a really friendly employee who say us struggling to find the appropriate sized litter box. While they didn't have the exact one we were looking for due to supply chain issues, she had a great recommendation we ended up opting for. While a bit out of the way for us downtown dwellers, it's worth the trip!

Took our 15yo pug to the store on his birthday and they were amazing!! He can't walk anymore, so he rides in the cart and all of the associates came up to us to give him pets and treats. We're very helpful finding us great birthday treats and the necessities. Treats in the store are freeze dried liver so very healthy!

I have recently adopted a senior dog that is beyond picky with food. Homes Alive carries a large variety of raw foods and also has a wonderful return policy. I would have wasted hundreds of dollars worth of food, so I really appreciate it. They also have top notch service and their store is always clean and well run.

This is the only store I shop at for my dogs. Their selection is fantastic and all the staff are always incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They will always take the time to answer questions or search for an item you're looking for in the excess stock areas if it's not on the shelf. Wouldn't shop anywhere else!

We come here for our cat food/supplies. Huge store with a massive selection, especially higher nutrition foods. There is also an entire wall dedicated to frozen raw food. Everything is well priced and they have good sales often and a decent points program. The girls working here are also very helpful and friendly.

This is a fantastic one stop dog shop. Store is extremely large with a vast selection of products. Staff was super friendly. Highly recommended. Dog had a great time picking his own treat (photo attached). Prices were on par with the other pet stores of the area. The quality and selection were above expectations.

This is a fantastic pet store. I’m a new pet owner the whole staff has been super helpful. Kennedy in particular is fantastic - she’s very thorough, she knows the products really well (for instance, which ear wipes will not dry out my pups ears), and is always super helpful every time we come in. While very pleasant, the staff at this location appear to lack basic knowledge regarding appropriate canine diets. Staff were recommending an exclusively grain-free diet for a puppy, had no knowledge of cardiomyopathy, and insisted most dogs are allergic to grains (despite proteins typically being allergens).

Homes alive pets is a great pet supply store, they have quality dog food, treat, toys, leashes and harnesses, ect... I don't own any other pets so I don't know what the rest of there stuff is but it does look like they have anything you could want for a cat or other small pet. I will definitely be going back

Warm and friendly. Great selection of medium to high end food. It's my dogs favorite store. There's a whole row of bones and chews accessible so your dog can chose his own treats. As well as stand up freezers full of raw nutrition goodness. We love going there, it's so much more welcoming than anywhere else.

Exceptional service! We spoke to a staff member at the cash register about the best products for our dog, and she made plenty of recommendations that were natural and using things we already had at home. It was clear she cared more about our dog’s health than about simply making a sale. Worth the drive!

This place always offers exceptional advice and service from every employee I've ever spoken with. I have a picky eater who happens to also be a senior dog. I really enjoy the selection, so much so I make the half hour drive to shop here! Charlie likes it here too as he gets to pick a treat when we go!

Homes Alive is truly one of the best pet stores we've been to. The staff are always friendly and helpful and we almost always find what we're looking for. I love the clearance section, which has amazing deals every time we go in - and it's one of the reasons I do go in, as they aren't listed online!

The stores are great, but I must warn you to never leave a in store credit. I had a 40$ credit on my account on gateway Edmonton, when I went to use it, it was discovered gone; they could see that an employee logged in but couldn’t tell which one. So no one got reprimanded and I never got refunded.

The staff are very helpful! I have a senior dog with many allergies and ailments so I am always having to ask the staff for advice. Whatever they cannot help with, they always have a suggestion of who or where to go for more information. They love fussing over my dog when I bring her in, too.

We were blown away by how friendly and helpful the store employees were on the Saturday we went. As we shopped the aisles we were asked 3 separate times if we needed any help. Also the variety of food brands and other products is huge! This will be our new pet food store from now on.

Love this store! Great price on everything and they let you return treats and foods your pet ends up not liking, just have to do it within 7 days of purchase so have to test them fast! Also so nice of them to move their first Tuesday deal to anytime, once a month during the pandemic.

My dog loves it here, the staff are amazing and remember Pickle every time they see her. Good free samples and lots of treats for your friendly, leashed dog at the checkout counters. Free animal weigh station and water bowls!

Nicely organized and clean store, prices are moderate. They stock locally sourced food (Acana).The killer feature is that their hours are amazing and helped our hungry cats when a shipment from a different place was delayed.

Store has a great selection of pet products, we get our raw here as well. Really good prices. Customer service is hit and miss. The worst thing about this location is the parking lot, kind of makes me dread coming here.

Huge selection of items and really good return policy. Unfortunately they do sell inferior foods that have ingredients that pet should not consume including ingredients that studies show cause cancer.

Well organized, well stocked, polite, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Parking can be challenging at times however customers and cars cycle through fairly quickly. Highly recommended.
