FANTASTIC PERSONNEL, WONDERFUL NAVY RV PARK There is nothing not to like about Pelican's Roost. The host, and other personnel, keep everything in excellent condition. Wifi and cable are included in the cost. The majority of the park has concrete aprons, air conditioned bathrooms and utility room. There are several activities that they offer in the rec room, too. Watch pelicans and ospreys flying overhead, dolphins swimming near the shoreline and, you might see a submarine surface, too. The only downside is that you typically have to book several months in advance to get a spot for more than a day or two. Pelican's Roost could easily double in size as it is a superb location.
It's called Pelican ROOST RV Park. Located aboard Naval Station, Mayport, FL. It is available to military (active & retired) and DOD. Great sites that are well spaced, full hook up and 20, 30 and 50 amp. Nice view of the St. Johns River, many types of ships and a short walk to the ocean. A must stay park.
This is across the road from the RV park. There is a covered space with picnic tables and a mini dog park. The fenced area is separated for small/medium dogs and large dogs. I think the fence for the larger dogs should be higher. Bags are provided to clean up after your dog.
Wish they had a solid foundation built for fishermen to stand on instead of teeter tottering on each rock along the river. The location provides a beautiful view for sunsets and they added a place for dogs to run inside of a gated area by the picnic tables. Great job!!!!
Navy doesn't provide timely or adequate upkeep. This RV park is good, but could be great. Bathroom/showers have not been adequately maintained for years. Power pedestals are in dire need of maintenance and improvement.
Nice military campground on the ocean. Minimal sites so call early. Only downside is grass isn't cut very well & cable can get spotty. Friendly & helpful staff & hosts.
Unique RV campground location at the mouth of the St. John's River. Great views, beach only 1/2 mile away, reservations needed.
Such a nice Little RV park on the water and so quiet. Camp Host was very nice and helpful. …
It's very peaceful place, and great getaway place. Good location, near to everything.
Clean and spacious place to go visit the beach and watch the ships go by also.
