It's a large neighborhood park. There are outdoor basketball courts alongside the playground, as well as tennis courts. There are chairs and tables so you can invite friends to have a birthday party. BBQ is also allowed. There are also two grass fields so people play with their kids and dogs there, or fly their kites. Some people will practice soccer and volleyball there. A few groups of kids and teenagers like roller skating along the trails or on the basketball field in the evening. Go there and have fun!

Houge park is a great place to take kids on the weekend as there are multiple playgrounds and several large field areas for running around or play. There are also two tennis courts and two basketball courts available, but if you want to play tennis, you want to arrive early as there are almost always people using them. Basketball courts are hit or miss with activity. The bathrooms do occasionally smell, but they are reasonably nice considering how many people use them (the park is very frequently busy).

This is a great park. It has 3 play areas for different aged children. It has basketball hoops and tennis courts. And it has a nice walking trail (I believe the loop is about 0.5 miles) around the park. It's a great park to bring your dog to. The one downside is that the grass tends to be overgrown, and much of it has subtle hills, so it's not great for soccer or other sports where long grass would be a problem. But I find that most other parks I visit in San Jose aren't as nice as Houge park.

Great neighborhood park. Both my daughters absolutely love this place. I can drive here in 5 minutes or walk in 15-20 minutes. There are play structures for both older and younger kids. Benches for BBQs and parties (we have already hosted 2 birthday parties here). Nice track around the park for running/walking and biking (for kids only please!). Open areas for relaxing in the shade or playing games like soccer. Also has a basketball court and a tennis court.

This park is an excellent resource. It has a hidden geocache for those who want something off the beaten track, and also accessible play areas for all ages of children. For adults there is a short loop around the track with outdoor exercise activities. There is a basketball court which is smooth for hover boards and skaters, and some well maintained tennis courts. There is a small parking lot and street parking.

The size and amenities of this park make it a regular destination, perfect for sports, exercise, barbeques, playground time, dog walking, hobby flights (kite, drone, rocket), picnics, and more. The lost star is entirely due to poor maintenance. Bathrooms are disgusting, run down, and graffitied. Playing field is all weeds and full of chuck holes. Trees keep getting chopped down due to disease but never replaced.

This is the closest park for us to walk to on any given day. I like the grassy areas and shaded picnic tables. It's nice they separate playgrounds for the most part it's all shaded as well. There is basketball hoops, drinking fountains and walking paths as well. I would appreciate if the community during the weekends would keep it clean. Seems like they allow kids to just leave trash all over the playground.

Well maintained park for everyone. They have a separate play structure for infants, toddlers and separate play structures for older kids. Lots of picnic tables with coal barbaque pits. They have basketball, tennis courts, dog park, green grass areas. Small area for fitness equipments. Sometimes they have Zumba classes going on in the basketball area. Toilets are clean. Kids and family will have lot of fun.

Arrived after dark to view the comet in July. ☄ Reasonably dark, but quite a bit of light haze from the city while facing north. However it's very dark facing south so Jupiter and Saturn were amazingly clear. Fog rolled in by 10pm. Teens hang out in the parking lot after 10, so be aware of your vehicle, though I don't think they cared much about others in the park.

Very clean. The diversity of people at the park was awesome. If you go early morning weekdays and have little kids that's when you will find the moms and all the toddlers from anywhere from 2 - 5 years of age. Restrooms are very clean and well stopped. And mostly but not the very least of all all parents were very cordial opening and very welcoming.

This park is nice with 2 playground options... but I think 1 is for small children and the other is for school age. Big park to walk around and exercise. Large green grassy areas. Not many BBQ areas. Bathroom was nice and clean inside... But on this Saturday afternoon... Broken glass was everywhere around the bathrooms and playground areas.

Nice park for kids and families. Three basketball goal stands, two tennis courts, and a large playground. Usually, you don't need to wait too long for tennis courts. In other words, it might be not the best tennis courts if you want to play for a long time. Plus, one court has a long significant crack in the middle.

My kids love this park. The playground (playgroundS, really) is expansive and set far back from the street. The neighborhood is quiet and not near any major roads, yet the park is always well-attended. Parking is easy as well. Highly recommended for a low key (and free) alternative to nearby Vasona.

  • James Jones

Great park for kids to play including 3 basketball courts, a basketball "hoop" for kids, 2 playgrounds, swings, etc. They have a few huge fields and nice trees for shade. There is also a lot of spots for picnics and birthday parties. I highly recommend this park.

  • Swathi R

We love this park! It's pretty big which makes it easy to social distance. It's clean, in a good neighborhood, and there is a ton of shade under huge trees which is really nice. We take our pup here and she loves running around with the other dogs.

  • Super Baellis

At this time where this pandemic drive us all crazy, we need a place to renew our energy. That's what I get from this park as well as the aroma of the blossoming trees and the chirping of the mist varieties of birds. What else does one need really?

  • Kimmi Tyler

This park has several play structures for ages 2-12, plenty of benches and picnic tables, a fair amount of shade, and tons of field space to run your dog or kick a ball. We live about 20 minutes away but always come to play here when in the area.

  • Aditi Mehra

Really nice park. There are a few swings and slides for toddlers, which is nice. We took a stroll around and noticed a lady cleaning the pathway off of doggie poo - cleaning up after those who can’t be bothered to clean up after their own dogs!

  • Rajah Chandrasekhar

Was here at part of the SJAA club to watch mercury transit. Nice and quite, green lawns, decent tennis and basket ball courts. Not particularly a good spot for night sky, but I think SJAA meets here as they can use the office bldg on the park.

  • Chris McManus

Lots of grass and a couple different playgrounds. Clean bathrooms and workout stations. Tennis courts and workout groups. There were several dogs there and i saw no poop. The picnic area was clean and available. Overall it's a pleasant park.

  • Brad Thomas (Brad)

I have a ton of childhood memories here. I lived across the street from it but moved away a few years ago. I would totally recommend checking it out. Just a heads up. There’s a ton of dogs there and most of the dogs are friendly.

  • Christah Mychal Hemeon (Link)

kinda miss the old jungle gym, but the new stuff is considerably safer for children. Basketball, tennis, plenty of parking, yards of... yard. Coal BBQs accompanied by tables with benches. Best park I've been too in the area.

  • Tre Retter
