"A great selection of products"
"Very poor customer service, I ordered 10 items one month ago! Only 1 item (swimming short) has arrived! The rest are missing! I tried to return the swimming short to the store! because it’s not my size and they told me for hygiene reasons we can not accept it! But you can retuned online!! I really don’t get it! It Makes no sense! And they want me to pay for the return by post! Why! Where is the rest of my order!!?? Also why are you changing me for delivery while I have got only 1 item! Also in the Manchester store, the manager Dillon was very rude! He wasn’t listening to what I was saying! He was just talking in a disrespectful manner! I will never shop again at house of Fraser"
"Extremely rude staff - at a few minutes before the store closed at 6pm on 27/7/2023, at the main entrance a male staff wearing a black suit (possibly security) shouted “Shut the fxxk up!” at a customer who was politely explaining he needed to have a quick browse before the store closes"
"I was treated like a criminal today"
"i am ordered dress Ralph Lauren from House of Fraser"
A great selection of products. Low rating because the service was horrendous. I came in at 5 40 to look for some shoes. I wandered around the shoe department for a while. No one offered any help or assistance to find any sizes. Workers were standing around together chatting. I kept looking around as I desperatly needed to get a pair of shoes for going away. At 5 55 a sales assistant finally approached me... however it wasn't to help, it was to tell me that they were closing at 6. I then asked for their assistance so that I could try on some shoes and the attitude that I got back made me feel like I was being a hassle. The only reason that I was asking for help so close to closing was because no one bothered to assist me earlier. Once they got the shoes out for me, I asked for them to confirm the pricing as they had a sale on and again it felt like I was being an absolute hassle. This was very unreasonable considering that I was there well before closing. I'm very disappointed in my visit.

Extremely rude staff - at a few minutes before the store closed at 6pm on 27/7/2023, at the main entrance a male staff wearing a black suit (possibly security) shouted “Shut the fxxk up!” at a customer who was politely explaining he needed to have a quick browse before the store closes. The staff said the tills were closed - when the customer said he did not need the till, the staff also immediately said “If you are not going to buy anything, you are not allowed to enter the store!” I and a few other customers all feel disappointed and sorry for House of Fraser to have this kind of rude and disrespectful staff. I personally don’t think I would ever enter this store again.
I was treated like a criminal today....only passed through the storein Manchester for about 5 minutes looking for a lipstick ( about 4pm) Didn't buy one but as I left the store it beeped. All my bags searched.... everything out on the counter and the guy in the suit couldn't understand why I was not impressed! Nothing found of course apart from a few supplements from Holland & Barrett with the enclosed receipts. I think you should be compensated with a glass of Champagne for being totally embarrassed by this treatment. I won't be goin in this store again...will be surprised if it last that long anyway! I think
i am ordered dress Ralph Lauren from House of Fraser. Today was delivered. Terrible quality! Holes, crooked seams, protruding threads. The customer service offered to send it back and then they will return the check or voucher to me (I live in Ireland and I absolutely do not need this voucher or check). And, apparently, according to other comments in Internet, I will wait 3 months for a refund. I will never shop at the House of Fraiser again and I do not recommend it to everyone.I think I should tell Ralph Lauren that this store is selling a Chinese counterfeit of this brand.
Large department store. The staff were highly knowledgeable about what they did and didn't stock. It's the only mid market dept store in Manchester, not as expensive as Selfridge's and not as basic as M&S. In particular the menswear selection is great for smart casual & work clothes plus the biggest suit department I've ever seen. Similar cutlery / silverware depts are huge. Alas what I needed they did not have in stock and the staff confirmed out of stock in their warehouse. It could though do with some love and a bit of buzz. Felt a bit secondary compared to Bristol store.
Gents; if you haven't shopped at House of Fraser ( Kendall's Manchester Dean's Gate ) for a while then I implore you to give it a try. The gents section on the basement floor is excellent; a superb selection of quality brands to satisfy all tastes. Shoes to coats and everything in between. Prices are competitive with the rest of Manchester with the bonus of all being under one roof. This is now my go-to shop when I want something a little special without breaking the bank.
Some really great brands and good choice.. shame it's like shopping on the moon these days.. soon there'll be nowhere to try on decent clothes in town and then you'll all be sorry won't you? Yes ... Go to House of Fraser and ask if Lilith is still there, they'll love that. Sorry, it's been a long week... But seriously.. go to House of Fraser we need an alternative to that weird Selfridges monstrosity near The Triangle that seems to have more style than stock...
Absolutely shocking levels of service. Purchased £400 worth of clothing online, but had to return £250 worth due to it not fitting correctly. Returned, with return slip, to the specified address, with proof of receipt from Royal Mail, however, HOF continue to withhold my refund. Goods were delivered back to them over a month ago!!! Customer service say they can't locate them and therefore cannot refund. What an absolute joke of a company they have become.
After 4 weeks I am still waiting for a delivery, they don't know where it is, refund has been dennied and the compensation it's a 10% discount where you still need to pay the delivery and it's not applicable to other discounts . I have contacted them like 12 times, 1 every 3 days basically as they stated to give you an answer in 3-5 working days. After 27 days I know nothing yet, 3 times i have been told that an investigation has been raised... SHAMELESS
What has happened to what was once the jewel in Manchester's shopping scene? Having not been in for a few years, it was utterly heartbreaking to walk on and see the place so run down and dirty. The staff looked like they didn't want to be there, some dressed like they were hanging out at home, and much of the stock seemed outdated and bedraggled. I could never imagine Manchester without House of Fraser but it needs putting out of its misery.
Do not buy anything from here or sports direct. They take a week to process your order and then take ages to refund you because they lie about having products so you give them your money. They also use Hermes or evri to deliver and they cannot be trusted with parcels and certainly not with people's data. You end up getting dodgy phone calls from people pretending to be from MasterCard wanting to know your bank account details.
Ordered online and paid £9.99 for next day delivery. Driver didn’t turn up or update tracking. HOF are telling me to wait 5 working days as that’s what the courier are allowed. Why charge so much if you aren’t going to do it. No refund is being sorted for me. They won’t cancel the order. They won’t put me through to management. Nothing to help me out here. First and last time shopping with HOF
I shopped from them online nearly £200 they charge me £7 for next day delivery after 5 days I didn’t get my package and tracking the provided it is same as first day no one responds to my email they don’t answer phone the chat line doesn’t work I don’t understand how they do business this is my first and last but please avoid them if you don’t want lose money!!!!
As far as shopping experiences go this store was great and despite not having been in a department store in years it's made me realise how pleasant it is to shop here. Prices of the items we bought were comparable if not better than online and the store has a good choice of departments and amenities. I'll be sure to pop in on my next visit to the town centre.
Gone are the days when Kendals/Rackhams/House of Fraser were a mainstay of shopping in Manchester. Although the store was reasonably well stocked there were very few people browsing and no one buying. I'm not sure how long Fraser Group can afford to keep the store going but it would appear that department stores are very much a dying breed.
Plenty to browse very quiet even on a weekend... Toilets are good to use and the cleaner of the toilet keeps them nice and is polite..... Cafe was ok some of the cakes looked very dry and staff are a bit dull not much atmosphere I get they can busy this time of year but it's very short conversation like trying to get blood from a stone
A once thriving and bustling store that’s on its way down. Shopping here feels weird; plenty of stock, hardly any customers and discounts galore that lower the feel of what House of Fraser used to be. Didn’t enjoy shopping here. Hopefully someone can take over the store some day and return it to its former art deco glory.
An accessible shop with a few floors. 5here is some pay and display parking outside, but the spaces are usually taken. The clothes here range from high end to mid end. You can't find cheap clothing unless on sale. It's a calm place to shop and easy to navigate around. The makeup is on the ground floor.
A horrible shop with nothing but over priced 'designer' stuff on sale. Lay out muddled because each designer has their own spot so shirts appear at every turn and seeing them all means a hike around the claustrophobic interior. Some like this experience, I understand that, but it's really not my style.
I was told I could bring back an item within 14 days for a refund, but when I came to return I was told they don't do refunds for in store purchases, they only give store credit. I've literally never heard of another store with this policy, and I won't ever be shopping here again. Absolutely disgusting
I do like this Old Skool store, its great to see an old treasure but it could do with a good clean up. It needs maintaining well to keep it up to its standard. The staff are mature and helpful. Its mot modern in any way and reminded me of an old department store in France I used to visit.
A very pleasant experience as always visiting this store. I went with a friend who was looking to purchase a new fragrance and the staff members went above and beyond letting her try different ones altho she is still trying decide lol. A store I visit regularly on my visits to Manchester.
Usual high standard. Just a one day trip from west Midlands. Had our lunch there very good quality for a lunch time light meal. Sale was on one of my friends purchased a very good quality coat and onother purchased aftershave for her husband a brand that is quite hard to buy in England.
today we went to house of fraser and we had a wonderful experience with Darcy on the perfume floor x she was very helpful and extremely friendly she gave us a free samples to try and has found a perfect fragrances for both of us .Thank you very much Sweetie again! You are a star ⭐️❤️
No customers - and for a good reason. Levi's 501 jeans cost £120 - and only £33 on Ebay. Wanted to sniff Lalique perfume before buying it on Amazon - they don't even have it. Obsolete and condemned, despite all these valiant efforts from our glorious Labour city council.
Whenever we go to House of Frazer, it just feels like it's going to close down ? Maybe it's the rubbish music that gives it a weird atmosphere. Or the amount of time you spend walking around for a staff member ? Was an okay shopping experience but wouldn't rush back.
Had an appointment with personal shopper , Joe. Very helpful experience, picked an outfit for my Son's wedding, thrilled with the help. The store is looking so much better and some decent brands returning. , I love this store , keep up the customer service please.
It’s so depressing in this store. Nobody ever shops there and there are no employees in such a big building. It’s always empty, might as well close it down. What a waste of electricity. I wouldn't be surprised if this store was next on the closures list.
store closed at 6pm nobody informed us as we entered at 5.45pm on a Thursday. Was ushered out at 6pm having rushed to buy a shirt. Can't believe this happened in todays retail market when the city was full of people on beautiful summer evening.
Great experience today. Didn’t think the shop was still open but I went in and found smiling and helpful staff in every department. Eventually got what I wanted at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit for any shopper in town.
A nice department store of what seems to be a dying industry. Served by two of the most helpful and friendly people I've ever come across in the fragrance department but unfortunately can't remember either of there names.
A Good place for quality clothing, Lots of designer items. I went browsing for a winter Hooded coat but didn't have a lot of time. I need to return and spend more time. The men's clothing covers quite a large area.
Online shopping with House of Fraser was the worst experience ever. £5 delivery charge and then further £5 for return label. Atrocious. They don’t have any customer service whatsoever. Absolute garbage company
House of bargains more like! Wife loved it and nearly cleared the store out but the bill was reasonable. It was quiet in store but staff respectful and attentive especially Julie in the homeware department.
Wow this place needs e scooters to get around it's that big and has more choice than any shop I've ever been in Need a bank loan to buy anything buy if yiu have money. This place has the items you want
Went to collect an online item after paying a delivery charge only to find it hadn't arrive In the store . Wasn't happy that no one took the initiative to inform the customer that there is a problem .
Went to purchase a suit however lighting was so poor couldn't see how it looks. Purchased suit elsewhere. Service was good and assistant agreed lighting was poor. Such a shame.
Quality stuff. Can be expensive. Return policy is a joke. They give you a credit note that you can use for two years rather than your money back. Otherwise good.
Store not busy, able to browse easily. Bought some Deisel black jeans on a good sale reduction. Well worth a visit as they have many further reductions …
Great service in the suit department. Helped with fitting and style which would suit me best. Thanks guys. Hope to be an avid shopper here in the future.
Never had a single one of my average or negative reviews published on their website of the items. Become a shocking company since Mike Ashley took over
Haven't been 8n a long time. Bought a dress for December Wedding and one for New Years Eve. Delighted with both and would recommend a visit.
The Squishmallow couch is all kinds of amazing!! The Game and toy shop section is really exciting! They are so big with a lot of items.
Was very quiet when visited yesterday despite the sale still on. Another sale and still quiet shoppers are mainly visitors and tourists
Nice shopping place but most of the staff are rude and want just to chat with each other and don't really care about helping customers
Great shop. Lots my choice than our HoF in Hull. Mens clothing . Ladies make-up's and perfume. Betta choice all round of jewellery etc
Looking dated and in need of refurbishment. Used to be the premier department store in Manchester but sadly it has lost its sparkle.
Variety of fantastic shops , with a wide range of clothes perfumes aftershave cosmetics and a whole lot more. Worth a visit.
Refused to take a scottish note. Its legal tender. Staff member didn't care. Left shop no purchase. Poor poor service.
Beautiful store to shop in and can also enjoy refreshments in lovely surroundings, we should keep this store going.
Visited the MAC counter. The assistant was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. I certainly would go back here.
Good: high signatures Bad: staff not so friendly it seems like it's hard to give free samples with purchases......
very rude , my fiancé just died ! only went in to get a package …. be more mindful , we are all struggling. ❤️
Received excellent customer service and help from the lady on the YSL beauty counter very knowledgeable lady.
Always love to look around a good department store. Lots to look at and some good bargains in the sale!
A nice department store with many different brands at reasonable and discount price. Will go again
First time visit to Cafe on 4 th Floor enjoyable snack lunch will certainly call again Ken of Hyde
The house of fraser is one of my favourite shopping place. Offers are really good.
As you would expect from an upmarket department store, good reductions in the sale
Lovely shop. Can be expensive but you can still find some things at good prices x
always interesting to see how little the staf cares or know about their range.
Yeah loved it not to busy the time I went that's how I like it
Was very quiet, more staff than customers
Women's clothes, good choice & shoes.
Lovely big shop nice and friendly
