I have been to this Ace many, many times in the 20 years I have lived in the neighborhood. There is a Home Depot just a couple of minutes away yet I have chosen to stop at Ace for the convenience factor. There was a time or 2 that I would have given a better rating. Those were the times I was helped by one of the 2 people (like Scott) that know how to talk with customers, provide any useful customer service or even have any knowledge of the products that are sold at a hardware store. In the past 30 days or so, I have gone to Howard's Ace Hardware to purchase items I needed quickly. I have had no luck with the product or the customer service I have received each of these times. Conversation with a female associate and her telling me she "never did understand that stuff" referring to types and sizes of plastic pipe. Maybe she shouldn't be on that isle assisting customers if she is not knowledgeable of the products. A male associate giving me a can of satin paint when I asked for flat. He had told me that they had run out of flat and that I would be happy with the satin. It's a good thing the cashier never rang it up with the rest of my order. 2 of these times I needed to really search the bins for what I required for a repair. The product bins have many different items all in the wrong location. I was wanting a 1-1/2" 45 degree street elbow and in my hast, left with a 22 1/2 degree elbow. At my own fault, due to the distraction of thinking about having to make an emergency repair on my home, I did not pay attention to what was rung up. It turns out that I was charged incorrectly on the elbow. About $5 over. I had also purchased some other plumbing fittings on the same order that I realized I didn't need. The emergency repair turned into a temporary solution to get us by until I could make the proper repair with the proper product. I went into Ace today to return the wrong item and un-needed fittings. The cashier told me to go get what I wanted & she can make the exchange. After several minutes of searching and finding, the correct 45 elbow, I returned to the cashier to settle up. It turns out I was only charged for 7 of the 8 fittings I didn't need. No big deal, I wasn't asking for a refund on that. I wanted the money back on the overcharged elbow. The cashier paged for the associate that rang up the order days ago. She told me to step aside and he would be here to help. Then this second snotty teenage cashier started to butt in, asking what it was and if it had a tag told her to scan it. The tag scanned correctly for the item but neither cashier could explain why I was overcharged for the wrong item. So now this second snotty teenage (un-trained in customer service) cashier who has butted in, all while ringing up other customers, is talking about how things just don't ring up wrong. This just sent it over the top today. When I asked to have the manager come over, the first cashier paged Scott. Scott must have been busy assisting another customer. I believe Scott was speaking over the headset when the snotty cashier pages about a "customer with a return that was overcherged or rung up wrong item or I don't know". I told her she doesn't know because she is not dealing with helping me and she should butt out and pay attention to her customers that she was currently ringing up. The cashier that was attempting to help originally, left me standing there and moved to another register to help customers while I wait for Scott. After a couple of minutes of waiting, and seeing a few other associates just standing around, I decided to cut my losses and vow to never return. I hope my weak burn out in the parking lot has left a small imprint of my frustration for others to see. I warn yee who shop to be aware of the mess that this store has become. I will shread my Ace Rewards card with pleasure! I was able to find what I needed at Home Depot and at a lower price. Ace is no longer the place of the helpful hardware man. It is the place of the snotty teenage cashier.
So I've recently discovered DIY shorts on YouTube, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for me. I've become an unstoppable force of creativity, diving headfirst into countless projects with unwavering enthusiasm. But what good is inspiration without the right tools and a helping hand? That's where Howard's Ace Hardware and their incredible CSR, Ty, come into the picture. Let me just say, Howard's Ace Hardware is a DIY enthusiast's paradise. From the moment I stepped through their doors, I knew I had stumbled upon something truly special. The store is meticulously organized, with every item I could possibly need neatly displayed and easily accessible. It's like they read my mind and stocked their shelves accordingly. And then there's Ty, the embodiment of patience and expertise. This remarkable CSR has been an absolute godsend for me. No matter how many projects I've taken on (and believe me, there have been many), Ty has been there every step of the way, guiding me through the intricacies of each undertaking. Whether it's offering insightful advice, recommending the perfect tool or material, or simply lending an empathetic ear, Ty has consistently gone above and beyond. I must admit, I tend to get overly ambitious with my projects, and without Ty's unwavering patience, I might have thrown in the towel on more than one occasion. But Ty's calm demeanor and expert knowledge have always reassured me, giving me the confidence to tackle even the most daunting tasks. They've saved me from countless mishaps and turned potential disasters into triumphs. But it doesn't stop there. Howard's Ace Hardware is more than just a store; it's a community hub. The staff members, including Ty, are genuinely passionate about what they do. They foster a friendly and welcoming environment, where DIY enthusiasts like myself can connect, share ideas, and learn from one another. It's a place where dreams are born and projects come to life. So, if you're like me and have caught the DIY bug, look no further than Howard's Ace Hardware. And if you're lucky, you may even have the pleasure of crossing paths with Ty, a true gem among CSR superstars. With their help, you'll not only complete your projects, but you'll do so with a newfound sense of joy and accomplishment. Thank you, Howard's Ace Hardware, and thank you, Ty, for being the ultimate DIY dream team. You've turned my passion into reality, and for that, I am eternally grateful. Keep up the incredible work!
This place, and Andres, is amazing! I live in the neighborhood so anytime I find myself needing a new hand tool or gardening item I head here. It's always a great experience, but last night was truly the best. I bought a shelf on Etsy that came with all the parts needed to assemble, just had to be put together. The instructions were simple enough, one of the shelves went in just fine but the other I got stuck on. The screws were not going in and one got stuck in the anchor and pulled it out. I was really looking forward to putting this shelf up but I was frustrated at needing to mess around with it, so I headed to Ace because I thought I might need new screws and anchors. I brought the shelf and screws with me so I could make sure I was getting the right parts. Shortly after getting to the screw section Andres quickly found me and asked me if I needed help, which I immediately said I did. He assessed the situation and determined the screws were sort of bad for a reason I don't remember, but was able to find ones that would work. He recommended some ways to put it together so it'd be solid, which would probably include some glue for the one where the anchor was pulled out. Long story long, he ended up taking me to the back where the REAL work is done, after offering to just put the thing together there for me and I enthusiastically accepted. He did some handiwork with it and boom, I had me a fully constructed shelf. Although the top notch service from Andres was worth a whole lot more, the two screws were only going to run me 23 cents, so I grabbed a couple hand tools I felt I have been missing in my arsenal to make it worthwhile. In my experience, Ace has always lived up to its slogan of the helpful hardware store and this night was no different. Hats off to everyone there! Pictured is my new plant shelf :)
Checked ACE website for product, and it shows that Howard's ACE has the product. I should have called, but anyway I drove from Gilbert up to North Phoenix. When I arrived at the store, a nice lady with red ACE vest on helped me to the isle and we searched for the product, and there was no inventory, I mentioned that the ACE website said that there was inventory, and if she could double check, and she did but there was none to be found,. Then as she was explaining options for ordering, and delivery, a rude ACE employee interrupted us mid sentence, and ordered her to go take care of some customers at the register. She apologized and quickly ran off. The rude older man started to walk away, and I said excuse me, I still have some questions. He walked over and said that that they had no stock. I mentioned that I looked up the part on ACE website and they directed me to his store, and he said, well we have no stock. I asked him if he could call around to other ACE stores to check, and he said no that they were independent and not affiliated with other stores, but that we could order on from him. I declined and said I would order one closer to home, or off the internet. I try to give my money to local businesses, and even go out of my way to drive across Phoenix to do so.... I should have called ahead.... and avoided the whole situation. Howards' maybe you could find a way to better integrate your inventory control system with your franchise name "ACE" or maybe you should request that ACE remove you from their web listing because you are "independent".
I recently had the pleasure of being assisted by Tyler an employee at Ace Hardware, and I couldn't be happier with his level of expertise and helpfulness. From the moment I walked into the store, Tyler greeted me with a warm and friendly demeanor, instantly making me feel welcome. He patiently listened to my needs and concerns, taking the time to understand exactly what I was looking for. His extensive knowledge of the store's inventory and their willingness to go above and beyond to find the right product for me was truly admirable. Tyler guided me through various options, providing insightful recommendations and ensuring I left with exactly what I needed. Their exceptional customer service skills and genuine desire to assist surpassed my expectations, making my shopping experience at Ace Hardware a truly pleasant one. Furthermore, Tyler's passion for their job was evident in their attention to detail and dedication in helping me. Tyler exhibited a remarkable ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and understandable manner, ensuring that I left the store fully informed and confident in my purchase. His friendly and professional attitude along with their patience and willingness to clarify any doubts left a lasting impression on me. I highly recommend that Tyler at Ace Hardware for their exceptional customer service skills, knowledge, and commitment to providing an outstanding shopping experience.
We originally went to Home Depot, they didn't have the type of small screws we needed because we searched for over an hour (with no help from any store staff, because they just kept telling us to search in this or that aisle), so we came to Ace. First, the sales person, it was Chaz or Chase, anyway he actually listened to us, without trying to be the "tool-guy-know-it-all" and then he took us to search four different places, and he found four different screws that fit our descriptions, talk about knowing your store's hardware! So we bought all four because he said we could return any that didn't work, these are the super small computer screws, well two of the four fit so we have a back now! Thx to Chase (I think that was his name) because he listened to us and didn't assume & then went the extra mile and actually looked for what we needed instead of just sending us down an aisle to search on our own! We'll be coming to this Ace more often! Thx!
I came to get a tool I needed in the middle of my workday very far away from home. Went up to the register to pay for an item I had in my hand. While at the register I asked for the restroom and they said no. And so I said never mind on the purchase. I was recommended to go to Popeyes in the same plaza. They also don’t take returns if the tool doesn’t work out for you. They only take returns on closed packages. Which doesn’t make sense because how will you know if the tool works for you unless you open it and use it. so Ace is a store for people who don’t need a wide selection, are willing to pay a bit more for the same thing you can get down the street, don’t need to use the restroom while they’re inside their store, and are willing to take a loss in case a tool does not work for them. Ace just pretends they care about their customers. There is literally zero reason for me to come to this company’s stores.
This has been the best hardware store in the city for years. Here is another story why: On Christmas Eve I had picked up my elderly aunt from across town to bring her for dinner. When I loaded her walker I realized it was is missing a nut and bolt and was not safe for her. I stopped at Ace one hour before closing and an employee that I had not met before (John, I think) got on his knees to investigate the walker. After several minutes of trying different combinations of nuts and bolts, he located a good fit and then retrieved a wrench to install. When it was all done, he apologized the nut and bolt were metallic in color and did not match the black of the others. :-) I thanked him and wished him a Merry Christmas. Cost: $.50. Thanks John and everyone at Howard's Ace. You guys rock!
Today I left feeling put off (down-graded from feeling insulted at the time) after being greeted with suspicion by an irascible clerk, lying in wait, demanding I give up my purse or my bag of reusable shopping bags which I carry folded up in a small tote bag. I gave up my bag of reusable shopping bags reluctantly because I’ve had them stolen while my back was turned. Dumping the tote bag on the floor just inside the counter near the front door, I was glad I didn’t give up my purse. Not that I would have. I resented the shoddy anti-theft measures and got out of there as fast as I could. It’s too bad because it’s a bigger store with a lot of items and usually a better shopping experience than the place I call the micro aggression depot. But I think I’ll just shop online instead.
Wow, I just had the best experience at Howard's Ace Hardware! As a 25-year-old student, I was a little intimidated by the idea of shopping for hardware supplies especially with the budget I have, but Tyler, one of the workers at Howard's, made my visit a breeze. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, answering all of my questions with patience and enthusiasm. Tyler went above and beyond to ensure that I found exactly what I needed for my final project. Not only did he provide excellent customer service, but he also gave me some useful tips and tricks to make my project a success. I highly recommend Howard's Ace Hardware, and if you're lucky enough to have Tyler assist you, you're in for a fantastic shopping experience!
Ace is the place... I bought my house in 2006 and started going to Home Depot and Ace pretty much immediately. I shop Ace for the majority of my items now. I can get in and out within a couple of minutes. There's always someone who can help me find what I need. Best of all, if someone doesn't know the correct answer to my "how do you fix this" question, they will find an employee who does. Some of the same staff have been there for over 10 years and they are as helpful now as they were when I first saw them. I can't say enough positive things about this place. The prices are competitive. But, to save an hour of wasted time at Home Depot on a Saturday, I would even pay a few bucks more if I had to.
This place is horrible It's incredibly frustrating when a store fails to accurately communicate their inventory. The experience of calling ahead, being assured that an item is in stock, driving a significant distance, and then discovering that the product is not available is not only a waste of time but also a breach of trust. This kind of inconsistency in inventory management and customer service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the reliability of the establishment. Such a situation can be incredibly inconvenient and disappointing for customers who rely on accurate information to make their purchasing decisions. Drove 45 mins to get there after I called and they said they gave 79 in stock
I love Ace Hardware anyways, but this location is legit one of my favorites because there's an employee named Tyler who never brushes me off or seems annoyed by the million questions I ask (and re-ask just to be sure). I'm a female, teaching home improvement to myself off of YouTube and conversations with my step-dad over the phone and a lot of the time what's explained makes no sense until I'm actually carrying it out, so having a friendly rep who will take that extra step to reassure and make sure I understand how I'm using the tools I'm buying (especially for the pricier ones) is incomparable for me! Thanks Tyler for helping a sister out!
I went to Ace to get help with a sink handel that had come loose. the handle I needed to twist was so tight that when I turned it, it popped right off the stem it was attached to. I came in to the store and was helped by a gentleman named Corey. He was amazing. He helped me lubricate the handle but also helped me to find a piece of plastic that was jammed underneath the handle that I could not see. He also gave me some great recommendations to how to properly reinstall the handle with silicone caulk. He took the time to really help me and for that I am very grateful. Fantastic experience.
Howard's Ace Hardware is one of the best in the business. They are customer service oriented and ready to serve. I recently bought a Stihl saw from another Ace (who assembled it improperly but were unwilling to make it right) I asked the folks at Howard's to help me troubleshoot the issue. They didn't have to but they did. As a result they have a customer for life and I have been sending others their way as well. Avoid the BIG box home stores and invest in the individually owned franchises, that help to ensure you have what you need for all home repair and work.
Just a note to let Upper management and fellow shoppers know. Tyler, at the Ace hardware off 32nd Street and Indian school road. Was working in the paint area. I had a 5 gallon red (specific) red for my outdoor sidewalks, thats immulate a red brick look. But mainly , this writer, wants to stress the easy going ,authentic personality Tyler immulated with me. I didn't feel stressed nor hassled or as if I was a burden. He even walked and loaded the paint for me to my Mimi van as a courtesy. Things of this nature need Tobe praised . SINCERELY MICHAEL CASTILLO
Chad was amazing! He provided amazing customer service! I brought in my kitchen drawer that needed bolts. He immediately took care of me. He removed the "un re movable manafured bolt' and replaced it with basic nut and screw bolts, so I can always adjust it myself later. It took him 30 minutes of continuous labor. I was blown away by the customer service. I will stop going to Home Depot. Prior to this I went to 2 Home Depots and their service was terrible, most of the people did not know what they were doing. Chad did an amazing job!!!
I have been to this location many times, and am also happy about the friendly service and the greeting as I entered. To save a few miles, I have visited other Aces recently and never will again. This store has employees all over the store; working, but always willing to drop what they're doing to assist customers. Wayne earned big kudos for that just this morning, and others have as well. I may have to drive a little further, but it is very worth the extra miles! Thank you for having a great store, Jeff (the manager)!
I did not get a good first impression of this place. I went there yesterday and the girl who was in the front has no people skills and was dry and a bit rude. She sent me to the back where a man would "meet" me she said. This man was not very helpful and also had no people skills. They seemed grouchy and dismissive. Employees also seem rough and uneducated. I guess they hire anyone off the street here. Won't ever come back, that's why there's Home Depot where the employees are way friendlier and more refined.
This location is not the closest to my place but I have found the best representative to help me navigate the challenges of a DIY project. Tyler who is in charge of the paint department is a treasure trove of knowledge on how to do, and what to purchase depending on what you have in mind. He is patient, explains well, and takes the time to guide you through the process. He has become my essential support system since. No reason for me to go anywhere else! This is customer service at its finest. 5 stars!
Cannot say enough great things about Tyler and Derek! Always have smiles on their faces and always so patient and willing to help us when we come in with new home projects. Our most recent experience with them last weekend, they were able to make a match of what I thought was an impossible shade of paint for our backyard patio and they walked us through how to best go about the project and the items we might need. Well the patio turned out perfect thanks to their help and we could not be happier!
My husband and I are regulars at this Ace not only to upkeep around the house but find goods needed to facilitate our businesses. The whole staff is great but one employee in particular has gone above and beyond for us lately. Tyler has been our to guy for the last year and is has always greeted us with a smile and a “welcome back”. His vast knowledge of the products makes our lives so much easier. Always ready with advice and tricks of the trade, the experience wouldn’t be the same without him.
I love Ace Hardware. Every time I go there I'm impressed by their friendly customer service. If I seem like I'm looking for something, I'm asked by a floor staff member if I need assistance. And if I do need to ask for help, it's just steps away. And their staff is super knowledgeable. But what I really love about Ace is how their inventory is so vast and well organized for such a moderate space. I always find what I need in a fraction of the time than when I go into big box hardware store.
Please make sure you know how to make copies of mail key. My friend made copes but orginal works copies doesn't. I was at uptown Spooner he dropped me off. I'm limited trasportation and it's very frustrating to find out key doesn't work. I couldn't figure out where I had to look up that PT place to track it down. It's time and convent wasted. I live in chandler and I have so much going as to health so didn't get a chance. Please make sure this doesn't happen again will throw key away.
I was looking for bronze metallic paint, which I thought only came in a spray. I'd been to home Depot, Lowes etc but was near Ace and thought I'd check there. After looking through all of the sprays and not finding one, Ty who was helping me showed me regular latex paint in bronze. He opened them up to show me and it was exactly what I needed. He even gave me an excellent deal. I will only go to Ty at Ace for any paint I need! Excellent service, selection and customer service
I normally don't post reviews but the exceptional customer service I received from TYLER deserves every star I could possibly leave. He was knowledgeable and helpful in every dept I needed any assistance in and on top of that he even proceeded to help me out at the register while finalizing my transaction. If every store I frequented at had an employee like Tyler the world would be a better place. Thank you Tyler you left a lifetime impression and thank you ace hardware.
What DON'T they have at Ace Hardware? This is always my first choice when I need a bolt, padlocks, cleaning supplies, paint, faucets, keys, ac filters - just a small sample of my past purchases at Howard's Ace. It's not the size of the "big box" hardware stores, and it's usually slightly more expensive, but well worth it for the *always* available customer service employees and not having to walk half a mile between a light bulb & a screwdriver. Happy hardware shopping!
I love this Ace location and have been helped by Tyler in the past, which was always a pleasure. Today I was shocked he remembered me from my last visit and really saved the day. I’ve been looking for specific paint for a project AND Tyler delivered! 10/10! I also enjoyed that another customer came over to let Tyler know what he’d recommended to them previously worked great. It takes a lot to build that kind of rapport with customers and it’s awesome to see.
Can a hardware store be a place I go shopping instead of just running to to get a tool or part? Howard’s Ace Hardware sure is! Besides what you know you’ll find at an Ace, this location has lots of grills, home goods, outdoor furniture, decor, little knickknacks and gifts. I honestly love going there just to see what they have set up in the middle of the store. I wish all Ace’s were like this gem! Super nice and helpful staff too :)
I spend 2 months per year at my condo. Each visit requires touch up work in a variety of projects. This store seems to have everything in stock. The employees are always extremely helpful. This trip an employment named Tyler took care of me. I have nothing but good things to say about his attitude and ways to think outside the box. He genuinely cares about taking care of your problems no matter how big or small. 5 stars!!!
This store is unbelievable. If you cannot find what you need here, it probably doesn't exist. And customer service you'll never find at Lowes or Home Depot. I recently needed some chrome type specialty hardware for my 2012 Superglide. Buddy Stubbs didn't have what I needed and suggested ACE. They had everything I needed and some of what I didn't need, but really wanted so I bought that too.....
Andres was very helpful. He explained how to fix the drain and helped me find all the things I need. He was very compassionate with my household issues and offers suggestions on best deals, while not pushing me to “buy more”. He is very good at valuing his costumers and finding them the best quality for their money! ACE employees like Andres are people easy to trust with your household needs!
Found my new favorite hardware store. I was looking for an over-sized washer and called the store ahead of time to see if they carried extra-large washers. I was able to actually speak to someone on the phone immediately, who then reported the largest size in stock. When I arrived at the store I got some very knowledgeable and friendly assistance. Thank you for such outstanding service.
Had an amazing experience - best Ace you can go to! Great selection and customer service. Had a terrible experience at a different location and stopped at this Ace — not only did they fix the issue (which wasn’t even their fault) but their customer service was so excellent it turned a bad day into a great one. Chris was so helpful and excellent at his job. Highly recommend!
How often do you get to walk into a hardware store - be greeted warmly, and when you have that deer in the headlights looks of - "where do I go, how will I ever find..." and you are sent to the correct aisle, told where to find it.... and everyone is so dang nice! Well, at Ace Hardware - you've found the right place, with the right stuff, and the right folks.
Ty was just the best sales associate I’ve encountered in a long time. He greeted me and immediately assured me he would take care of me. He even explained some of the minor details I knew nothing about when it came to paint finishes which helped to narrow down the best finish for my project. I will be definitely return to this location in the future.
Had the pleasure of speaking with your sales associate Tyler to get a fantastic job at helping me with selecting the best paint for redoing my bathrooms at my new house, couldn't be more impressed with the customer service at the store, happy to help me despite all of my silly questions! I rarely write reviews but this definitely warranted one!
Poor service from fellow who was not helpful in finding lighting replacement bulbs. Then unhelpful service from male cashier. Female cashier much more helpful. This is no longer the place with the helpful hardware man.. What has happened? Additionally the Ace app does not work in the store. Poor internet service I assume. Disappointing visit.
Recently our awning from the 50s just popped out onto our driveway. I walked into Ace with a few ancient anchors and no clue what to do, and Jeff walked me through the best solutions and had me back out the door in 10 minutes. Project done, and that thing should stay up another 70 years. Thank you folks for your professionalism and patience.
We frequent this Ace location because it always has the items we need in stock and the staff is extra friendly and helpful, particularly Tyler. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about which is helpful when you don't! The store is also always clean, organized and well-stocked. Highly recommend out of all the local Ace's!
Tyler! This guy is a serious asset. He was extremely helpful, energetic, engaging, smiling. Very rare to see that now a days and he is constantly like this as well. 5 stars to this location because of your employee Tyler. I usually go to home Depot first but Tyler changed that experience for me. I will be coming to this location now! :)
Great service today with Dexter. He knows his store to the greatest detail. What I thought would be a challenge…. He went above and beyond to get me on my way. Granted, this is why I come here before heading to the depot. Great selection and sales associates who have the knowledge that makes all the difference. Thanks again Dexter.
I had the privilege of being assisted by Ty, not only did he help me figure out what products I needed he had me laughing and smiling the entire time. I would highly recommend this particular Ace Hardware to anyone!!!! I hope you never let him leave this store!!! I will for sure be back for more of his insight on my next project.
Great product knowledge, friendly and kind service. Special kudos to their large selection of in stock paint inventory! Well lit section with multiple cases of diverse paint brands ranging from traditional industrial stock to art purpose specialty paints. Impressive set up as well as their outstanding hospitable customer service!
Best hardware store. There's an ACE hardware closer to me but I prefer to drive here because the employees here don't follow me around and pester me like at the other ace. When I do ask for help the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They have just about any hardware you need and they even sell ammo! It's a great store.
First time I"ve been here. Very well kept, and easy to find what one is looking for. Just stopped in for twine, and a small saw. Very helpful staff. Called another place called Clyde's. When I asked them if they had twine, he person said no. A hardware store with no twine??? Anyway, Ace is truly the place. …
There is a woman who has worked there for years. Her whole family used to work there but now it’s just her. I always look for her as she is the BEST! I even paged her manager to let him know. I’m just sort I can’t recall her name. She is a brunette, maybe 5 ft 3 and EXTREMELY NICE AND HELPFUL!! great store!
What a place!!!!!! Knowledge and service that is beyond. I dealt with John because of a plumbing problem. He was most pleasant as well as super knowledgeable and 10 minutes later had me on the way. There is no doubt that supporting your neighbourhood store pays dividends each and every time!!!!!!!!!
Always start here, then go somewhere else if they don't have it. Great friendly staff who know what they have, where it is located in the store, & can offer alternative ideas or location to get something if they don't have it. They are also the only place to make & sharpen chainsaw chains!
Went into the store today cause I needed some paint for a project I’m doing and Ty in the paint department was very helpful from the start great costumer service great attitude. Helped me with every question that I had will come back here for paint every time I need some because of Ty.
Sort of like an old time hardware store. Aisles of stuff reasonably sorted and a staff there to help you find what you're looking for. If they can't find it, they'll get it for you. The only thing missing is the creaky wooden floor. Oh. And the old timers sitting around the wood stove.
Just tried to access the website and it said Howard's Ace hardware HUB. Then it goes into related searches and I cannot access the actual Howard's Ace hardware site! Tried a few ways to access the actual site. Rated it low so it would grab your attention and you could fix if desired.
Ty helped me in the paint department. He was not only very friendly, he went above and beyond to make sure I got all of the paint samples made that I needed to pick my perfect colors! What a great experience! I recommend Ty and Howard’s Ace hardware for your painting needs. …
Last week I had the opportunity to meet Ty. I was looking for a few screws to "rig" a plastic part on my truck. After seeing what I was trying to do, Ty coached me on what I should do. He showed me the parts I needed then helped me in the parking lot. Five star thank you to Ty.
This Ace is great! The store isn't the largest Ace I've been to, but they seem to have a wider variety of items that other locations don't have in stock. Friendly, helpful staff on the floor, and they also sell MTN Montana Colors spray paint, which is hard to find locally.
Every time I come here it's hard not to notice the snooty attitudes of these people in this store. Not like most of the ACE locations, this store is painfully racist. I'm talking about the employees! I gave 2 just because it has tools. Not all. Harbor Frieght has more.
Such a great Ace location! Props to Tyler who perfectly matched my wall paint from a teeny tiny chip of drywall I brought in! I was incredibly impressed, ask for his help for any of your “impossible to match” mystery paint needs. He hit it out of the park! ✨ …
This is one of the coolest Ace hardware ever been to. Everything inside is so well organized and clean. It practically looks brand new inside. The service is excellent everyone I talk to when there was very friendly. I had keys made and it was a very quick turnaround.
I needed paint on a Sunday. Nowhere could help really. Lot of places closed already. This ace hardware is amazing, Tyler in the paint section was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Scott at the front was also awesome too. I will be coming back here.
I asked if they had a particular brand of elbow fittings and they guy gives me a different brand. I repeated the brand I wanted and he tried to tell me the brand he gave me was the same thing. No, it isn't. Definitely won't be going back there for anything. Ever.
Employees are very knowledgeable and help you find what you are looking for they definitely go out of their way just to make sure your shopping needs are met great place great staff and a great environment overall good work guys the community appreciates u all
The quality of service is top notch. I bought a deadbolt, and they keyed it to my key for free, while I waited. They always seem to have multiple staff members available to assist. Update : 7/9/23 still great service with multiple staff always ready to help.
I have been looking at the big egg grill for years. I finally pulled the trigger this week and bought the Big Green Egg at Howard's Ace Hardware I have to say the pricing and the service was extraordinary and I love my Big Green Egg I highly recommend it
Always so helpful when we go in. One of the guys helped my daughter with her scooter instead of selling us something to fix it. We have gone in there for many things because it is close to our home. Always friendly always helpful. Great customer service.
I absolutely love this Ace Hardware. Have been remodeling my master bedroom and Ty helped me color match my old bedroom walls I loved and helped teach me on what would work to finish the baseboards. I'm always impressed by this store and their staff!!
Staff very knowledgeable. Hardware store that is so clean you could eat off the floor. Pricing very good and in some cases better than the big box stores. Paint department great selection of both paints and paint accessory items. Well managed store!
Great store packed with deals. I found ammo, stain for a desk, and a new faucet valve all at this store. Love the one stop shopping and the quick service not found anymore at the box stores. They really cater to the needs of the local residents.
The most helpful friendly staff. They have plenty of guys on the floor who are there to help find what you’re looking for. They’ve got a Screw guy who’s super helpful. It’s a very compact layout but they have a ton of stuff. Highly recommended
I needed a few plumbing items and Tyler, gladly, helped me out. He admitted that he didn't know much about that department, but I never would have known that. Seems like everytime I go there, the staff is willing to help me. Thank you, Tyler!
This was my 1st time in this Ace hardware location. Bigger store than I've experienced before. Same helpful employees. All I needed by a specialty bulb. After asking an employee where they were located. I was in and out in under 5 minutes.
Howard's Ace is one of only two retail establishments in this shopping center to have weathered the storm of all other stores around them closing and the surrounding area having been completely rebuilt to what it is today. That ability to
Living in this area, this is the closest hardware store and is SO much more helpful than the big box stores. Being a new home owner, my boyfriend often sends me to pick up supplies mid-fix and I always know if I come here they'll send me
Ty helped me find the right spray paint I needed for my at home projects and he was very helpful with his knowledge of pigments. Ty was super helpful and made my shopping experience smooth! I look forward to coming back to this location!
Overall a good store as far as selection. Unfortunately I encountered two less that stellar performers this evening. A young lady who rushed to walk by me instead of ask if I need help and a young man named Cody who, as a cashier didn't
Staff very knowledgeable. It may cost a touch more but the service is worth it! They understand the houses in this area. Most from the 40's & 50's! I like going here first before I may need to go to the big box home improvement store...
Ty makes this place special!! Thank you and Nick so much for helping us with our many many DIY paint issues. We really appreciate that you could color match the worlds tiniest sample. Couldnt have got the job without toy. Thank you!!!
probably NEVER buy ammo here again due to missing bullets and the boxes were behind the counter. I found this out when I arrived home .Ace's ultimately compensated me for the missing bullets but the way that the employee named Chris
I'm on my way home right now with a trunk full of paint after stopping at Howard's ace hardware and being helped buy the most amazing employee I've ever encountered anywhere his name was Tyler and he is spectacular thank you so much
Mark was friendly and helpful! I had two keys made and then he walked me through what I’d need to get measurements for/bring back with me to get the correct part to fix the doorknob that I needed to. Ace really IS the helpful place
This ace it's the best in Arizona the help it's great very clean and we'll stock I want to thank Erica she help me on my last visit She help me very nice and helpful thank you Erika and thank you ACE Hardware. Keep up the good work
Professional friendly knowledgeable staff. Told me exactly where what I was looking for then walked with me to the product and double checked the cost before I checked out. Thank you all for your commitment for exemplary service.
Ignored by retail sales team. Needed help. Had to use the time to help myself. It would be nice If you can ask the males as well females that come there if they need assistance. Instead of walking away and ignoring. Thank you.
This is the largest Ace I've shopped at in Phoenix and San Diego. Service was excellent from Chris. The selection is great. The place is clean, well organized and there is ample parking in the shopping center lot.
Tyler in the paint department is the real deal! Not only does he know the products that work best he also knows all the application techniques too. Best service you will find in the whole valley hands down!!!!
Howard’s Ace is by FAR the best Ace I have been too in the valley! The employees were all very friendly and not only helpful but knowledgeable! Will be making this my go-to local hardware store from now on.
Jesse was super helpful!! I had a problem with a screw attaching my car door that was loose and couldn’t find the proper tool to tighten it. Jesse found the tool I needed and tightened it for me. Awesome!
I love going to this location because even though it’s nowhere close to the size of a Home Depot, they always have what I need. Everyone has always been very helpful and friendly, great neighborhood Ace!
This place is awesome!! They have everything, including hundreds if not a thousand different colors of artistic spray paints. The staff are happy & helpful! I live in Chandler, and it's worth the drive.
Tyler in the paint department was amazingly helpful. We matched a paint color from a tiny chip of paint and he helped me get what I need and was very friendly. We shop there often and highly recommend.
I received great service from Tyler when I came into the store he was very helpful in answering my questions. Customer service is important to me and because of it I will tell others to shop there.
They had what I wanted. Cashier was great. I apologize I forgot her name. 2 employees standing near the aisle I was looking around never asked if I needed assistance. Found what I needed on my own
We love this Ace location. They know their inventory and are so helpful!! Their staff is always very happy and pleasant. Priscilla is a nice add to the store. She was very welcoming and helpful.
I had a welcome to the neighborhood coupon for $10 off my bill when you spend at least $10. I bought 4 cans of krylon spray paint for around $15 & only had to pay $5. Nice place. Quick visit.
They have no idea what they have in stock. No department that runs the electrical section. Had no idea how to see if they had a 25amp homeline SqD breaker. Very rude over the fun.
Went to get keys made. Dexter saved me extra expense by catching that two of the keys I brought in were duplicates, then confirming I didn't need the additional key copy.
Went in to get some replacement keys, Celina was very kind to us and really helped us out! Tami was very nice at the register and I really appreciated both of their help!
I’m thrilled with the service in paint! Ty is super helpful and has assisted with many of my projects! He is knowledgeable and so nice! Love the entire crew here!
Great store with very helpful associates. Ty and Jeff have helped me out with home projects many times and those guys are exceptional at what they do. Thank you!
I went to get cute key's for my new place and a key change. It wasn't cheap lol. That's for sure. But the service was great. Will return to this location.
Excellent customer service, especially at the key making counter. Nick was great and I left super satisfied! Will definitely be back for any other needs.
