Not all heroes wear capes, but some heroes definitely wear IGS Electrical Services jackets. Ian and his excellent team did a perfect job rewiring my entire home, installing a new fuse board, external plug, internal plugs, extractor fan and, most importantly, getting the electric clicker to finally work on my gas hob. I genuinely couldn't recommend them enough. They always show up on time and work incredibly hard in order to not just get the job done, but get the job done right. Even though it was a huge job, that took two weeks, they did whatever they could to minimise disruption to me, while I 'work' from home. They always gave me notice before turning the power off so I could save my 'work'. Also, they were excellent with my puppy, and, without me asking, always made sure that there wasn't any mischief lying around she could get herself tangled up in. At the end of ever day they spent more time cleaning my home than I would normally do in a month, which meant that even after such major electrical works, my home was left far cleaner than when it arrived. They charged what they quoted, there weren't any unexpected additions, and nobody sucked their teeth and started expensive sentences with "well, what we have here is..." In short, Superman wears IGS Electrical Services pyjamas.

Excellent, professional and friendly service from Ian and Chris. I had to get a new cooker installed, which required a hard installation and rewire on an old house. The quote matched the final price, which was fair. Ian also took the time to visit on a Saturday to assess the work, as he was very understanding that we were without a cooker. The work done was to a very high standard, Ian and Chris kept me informed of progress along the way and I'm very happy with the outcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services.

Ian and Chris were punctual, polite and helpful with helping me decide where to put new sockets in an old house. They had to take up original floorboards to lay wiring and explained that this may cause some damage, but they were very careful and the damage is minimal to say the least. Ian also fixed a dodgy switch while he was here just as an aside. The quote was clear, fair and stuck to. They even moved furniture back into place when they had finished. I’ll recommend their services to everyone.

The work was done very effectively and quickly. Despite finding that additional work was needed, they managed to have all 5 sockets replaced within a few hours. They made sure that we were consulted before any decision was made and did their best to be as transparent as possible with the work they were carrying out. They even changed their drilling schedule after a noise complaint, to prevent further impact on our neighbours. Would recommend them if anyone in the area needed an electrician.

If you are after a careless electrician, then this is the man for you. Sure, he'll do what he's asked to do but then it'll cost twice his quote to repair the cosmetic damage he's caused. A normal day for IGS is turning up at 10.30am, going out for an hour to run errands, going out for another our to get lunch then casually finishing at 3pm. All in, not great work ethics and an attitude of "that's someone else's problem " - I would not recommend IGS to anyone.

I found Ian on trust a trader and was very impressed that he was able to come over on the day. He talked me through the problem, showed me where the issue was and gave me options as what would need to be done. He tidied up after himself and made sure I had a make do option until he is able to return to fix the problem properly. I have been looking for a trustworthy electrician and will be passing on his details to friends.

I appealed to local tradesmen to help my lovely elderly neighbours to get their light fittings back on and IGS Electrical Services were the first to to help them. Ian came out and was professional and courteous to my neighbours and did a fantastic job explaining what needed doing and was able to resolve their issues promptly. Because I was desperate, they arranged for me to be seen the next day, and they even arrived early! In addition to accommodating my requests, they helped me understand the report and recommendations. IGS installed a number of new sockets for us as well as an underfloor heating system. The work was carried out quickly and to a high standard with certificates provided the same day as completion. Ian was particularly accommodating to our programme and deadlines, carrying out the relatively minor list of jobs over two visits to suit what we needed. Would recommend and intend to use IGS again in the future.

Asked Ian to carry out an EICR for our flat. He was quick to respond to my enquiry, arrived when he said he would, did the work, discussed the outcome with me on the spot and sent me the certificate the next day. I forgot to ask him to look at a light that I wanted fixing. I called him that same day and he was back within three days with no hassle. Very pleased with Ian's work and can recommend.

Ian did a whole rewiring of the house when the old circuits failed. He and his team did an awful lot of work in a quick time, around two weeks for the whole job, making sure I could get back into the house in the shortest possible time. He gave me such confidence and reassurance at a difficult time and I will trust him for all future work.

This was one of the best trades experiences I’ve every had. Chris and Ian arrived early and in 40 mins were able to change my bathroom light, kitchen light, new dimmer switch, shortened two light pendants AND removal of a old inactive switch. I fully would recommend them and will use them again for all electrical needs!

Ian came to replace the fusebox, relocate and replace the cooker switch and a couple of other smaller jobs. He’s very prompt and trustworthy, I was invoiced as quoted, he did the work to a really high standard and even popped back to do one additional repair I’d forgotten (at no extra cost). Initial work completed within pre communicated timings and kept very tidy and clean. Work completed within quote given. However, very difficult to arrange a post installation review to update a broken switch (which needed to be corrected during the initial installation also). Communication felt dismissive.

Upgraded fuse board - didn't finish the job leaving one fuse broken and some lights not working(due to new RCB, not caused by Ian). As job not signed off will need a whole new fuse board fitted as no other electrician will sign off the work that was partly completed.
