If I could give no stars I would. My grandma has been continuously harassed by this department over false accusations by a woman who is with my uncle. My Uncle's brother has recently passed, and since then it's just been chaos dealing with her. First, the woman called in and tried to say my grandma was involved in a hit and run off of Holt Rd not too long ago. They investigated her vehicle. Came back clean. My grandma wasn't even in that area at the time she was with family! Now comes the good part...recently after my Uncle's brother passed, we had a celebration of life for him. The woman shows up with my uncle, GOING AROUND AND TELLING MY FAMILY THAT MY GRANDMA HAD BEEN SENDING HER DEATH THREATS. When proof was asked of, she refused to give it. Now, the same woman is still accusing my grandma of sending death threats, even though she has told numerous of my family members that they cannot trace who it is *bull*, I very well know the capability of the technology you officers have, and within moments you would have found out who was sending them. My grandma went up to your station to clear her name. Willingly gave her phone to you to trace back. There was nothing on her phone that had anything to do with death threats. But yet, you are still calling her. After coming home from your department, my Uncle messages her to kill herself. You guys are so concerned over false accusations, that you don't even know stressful and hard this is for her. This woman that my Uncle is with is using YOU to harass my grandma even further. She cannot take any more stress. I do not want to hear my grandma crying all the time because you can't seem to see what's going on.

Awful service when you call and need their help trying to navigate a situation. One of their police officers (Officer Watkins) called my personal phone and told me a vehicle registered to me was abandoned and they wanted me to call dispatch and let them know if i was going to get it or else it would be towed. My vehicles are not missing so someone was blatantly using my registration or something similar illegally on a car i dont own. First shift clerk at the department who i called two days in a row was extremely rude and refused to give me any information and that officer Watkins would call me back, which he has not yet. I believe this is a serious issue that could lead to identity theft or charges against my name or fees on my license etc. yet they will not help me with obtaining the report or call log to verify the information or wont tell me. If it is some sort of mix up i would at least like to know instead of worrying and trying to track down information and file my own claims with my id theft insurance. Also i do not even live in Indianapolis. Very strange and no effort to help the people who pay their salaries. Unbelievable.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have called on 2 serious incidents and both were handled terribly. One where my mom had to tell a Rookie officer to take out pen and paper if he was really going to follow up with me like he said he would. Then this morning there was an attempted break in and the police didn't bother to come inside to check on me. Then when I spoke to the supervisor she said, "You did not request to speak with an officer. Would you like to speak to one?" Like I thought it was proper protocol to check on the victim. I stood in my apartment waiting for an hour for the police to show up. This is why people are taking justice into their own hands because the police are a joke.

911... on hold for 8 minutes before they picked up. An hour later an officer arrived. A few years later I called dispatch twice from another state for my adult child and problem at their home where they didn't feel safe calling themselves because of people in the home... they NEVER answered either call for active dispatch. It rang for over 5 minutes. Ended up calling armed neighbors. Take back your neighborhoods and protect your neighbors and DEMAND change and accountability from this POS police department. Normally, I totally respect police and police organizations as a whole. Not this one.

I see these idiots every single day just flying down the road. Making the usual reckless drivers on the road pale in comparison. The reason I'm posting this is because I just witnessed an impd officer on 31 in the car with license plate 17019 doing 70 in a 45 with his family in the car. Now why should anyone obey the traffic laws when the most egregious violators of these are the police? And you know these very same guys would not hesitate to pull you over and hit you with reckless driving for this exact same behavior. It absolutely disgusts me.

Kids running around the neighborhood unsupervised banging on people's doors and windows as they jump in and out of their windows but somehow this isnt serious enough to do anything about... these guys have time and again proven how useless over all the department is especially in this area it seems a rare occurrence that they actually respond to anything emergency or other think they need to be a bit more active in this area with all these issues

On 5/23/2018. I on my way to work I saw a police car checking a build at corner of Bluff and Southport. I stoped in and ask him to inspect my vehicle because it was purchased out of state. Officer Brain Burnet are so polite help me fill out the paper. I would like to say thanks for your service to me and our community. Thanks.

Their service deserves 0 stars. There are too many numbers that no one answers too. I’ve been trying to get my firearm back for the past month and the detective or anyone is not responding. All these people with state jobs just sit and don’t care. For hr police department, there shouldn’t be this many negative reviews.

I’ve tried calling since Sunday to make a report for fraud and NO ONE WILL ANSWER! I had no problem at all with whiteland police but they said I need to get ahold of impd since the cause will involve someone in Indianapolis. It would be nice if someone could answer and take my report PLEASE!!!

100% of IMPD officers stationed at an intersection under contruction or partially closed due to police action sit in their vehicle talking on the phone instead of doing the serve part of their job and directing traffic.

Called to get info on a police check on a VIN number on a new auto thats from out of state . The lady who I spoke with was rude and short with me . so you suck who ever you were get a new line of Employment .

Food was alright I stayed 2 nights and the handcuffs did the job but the overall stay was a 4/5 because the cells were kinda tight and people was a little rude but that’s ok I still give 5/5.

Called the non emergency line, was put on hold for 10 mins and then they were extremely unhelpful in filing a police report. Do yourself a favor and leave this city.

Called non emergency dispatch and was interrogated. Makes one think this guy never heard of 'see something say something'. Suggest more training.

I have called them 25 times! They still haven't answered! I'm not even being hyperbolic. My phone keeps count. Update: call #36 was the winner.
