Exceptional customer service experience at Chapters Indigo, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. I had a few questions regarding a recent purchase I made in another province, and I reached out to their customer service team for assistance. The response was prompt and friendly, and the support team was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They assisted me with my queries and provided me with all the information I needed in a clear and concise manner. They went above and beyond to ensure that my issue was resolved, and I felt valued as a customer. The shipping and delivery options were also very flexible and convenient, with the option to pick up orders in-store or have them delivered directly to my home. The returns and exchanges process was straightforward and hassle-free, with a generous return policy. Overall, I highly recommend Chapters Indigo for their exceptional customer service, user-friendly website, and convenient shipping and delivery options. I was thoroughly impressed with my experience and will definitely be a returning customer.
In my opinion, this is one of the best Indigo locations in the city. The staff are helpful, but not intrusive or annoying. The Starbucks inside is secluded enough that it's not always that busy, and the staff there are always super friendly, upbeat, and accommodating. The selection is a great mix of books and decor. Admit it, Indigo is starting to get good at decor. It's okay; I know; a book store selling decor and electronics, what the hell, this makes no sense. But here, at this location anyways, it seems to be working. I couldn't find anything to complain about, and with the Starbucks and decor things being pluses, for a book store I'm actually going to give this Indigo 5 stars. What else do you want, you needy weirdo?
What is happening to Indigo Books? There is total lack of customer service or engagement. Its now run like a self serve store. Its wonderful to browse but if you want to ask someone where a particular book or item is or want some suggestions, they are no longer providing this warmth of book appreciation. Yes too many gift items but to keep bookstores going that is okay, but please bring back old fashioned customer service. At Signal Hill recently there was a very pleasant check out person but a line of 7 which grew to 10 as I waited and no one was called. The man behind me gave up and left.
I called about a product, seeing if they had it. I spoke to some white woman on the phone and I waited on the phone for 15 minutes... another girl answered and I said oh I was just speaking to another girl.... after 15 minutes the same girl answers the phone saying hello chapters, and I say yes I was the one looking for that item and she said oh I'm so sorry.. I got side tracked with something else.. but I'm glad you called back... yeah I couldn't find it. So she literally forgot she was helping me and I waited that long on hold. Super bad customer service from her.
As indigo stores go, this is one of the better stores. However, as with all indigo stores, there are heaps left wing drek and very little right-wing traditional books. And they can't claim that there isn't any demand for right-wing authors, nor can they say in general that they dont carry these books because of a lack of demand. The fact that they have heaps of books like 'what happened' sitting in the bargain bin collecting dust tells me that they would rather be political and 'nudge' consumers with a left wing agenda rather than meet customers needs or wants.
Not an independent store of course but it's still nice to be able to visit a real book store and see the books in front of you, rather than ordering online. I often find good deals on cookery books and things here, plus the classics are usually on a 3 for $10 type deal. There are good kids sections for both toys and books and both are pretty well stocked and in a good, logical order. I find this to be one of the quieter locations in comparison to the Chinook or Market Mall Indigo stores - I think this is a real positive.
Take Chapters and mix with Bed Bath and Beyond and you have today's Indigo in Westhills. There is a whole variety upscale gift section in the middle of the store now. Talk about evolution of this business. Unfortunately the Starbucks in here has shut down and they have not replaced that retail area yet. It will be interesting to see what they end up doing with it. The store is bright and spacious with plenty of stock. If you haven't shopped here in a while you may find it quite interesting to see the changes.
I just got back from a trip to one of my favourite stores. I went into buy the book, On Writing, by Stephen King. I was helped by fellow named Ian. We had a great conversation and he also recommended I buy a book called Consider This. So glad he recommended it. He actually took the time to ask me questions about myself and what I want it and was able to recommend me something that I didn’t even know I needed.thx Ian!!
If you think Indigo is just a book shop, it is not! And this Indigo has so many little ... thingies... That you can add to a gift that just make the gift (it ends up being the more prized item). I got a crafty birthday gift as the main gift and then found this little thing you squeeze and a squirrel popped out. When I went to pick up my child, I was greeted with the popping squirrel!
I love this book store. I love it the most when I can go without my children, because there is so much to explore! However, when the kids do come along, they're enchanted by the children's section and always enjoy their time. Updated to add (December 2022) Richard is the MOST helpful employee I've ever met here!! He scoured the store with me for the books I had trouble locating. What a gem!
Great location in Westhills shopping area with plenty of parking. This is a high traffic store, so be prepared for crowds, especially if you shop there on the weekend. Massive store with many titles, and if the store does not carry a book, you are able to order it online and have it shipped to the store. This will negate shipping fees. And honestly, the smell of books in there?! Heaven!!
Awesome bookshop, wonderful ambience. I almost felt like a kid in there. They seem to have a lot of option on fiction and the like. There seemed to be just 1 book stand for IT related books, I couldn't get the book I needed but I was told I could place an order for it and it will be available in about 2 weeks. Overall I will visit again and I just found a new best place to visit.
I hate how much I like this Indigo (or most Indigo's for that matter). There's a Starbucks embedded inside which is always a welcomed addition and is becoming the new standard. It's also fairly big inside which lends itself to having ample inventory and selection. I've run into a few instances where I've had to return items and the staff and process always exceeds expectations.
I would have to say this is probably one of the best Indigos, overall I love the layout, the coffee shop is right in the middle which was a great addition. Staff overall are pretty helpful. The acoustics are pretty good there could be a lot of people in there and you really don’t notice. If they could put this store in a few different places it would be the place to go!
I placed an online order for some items and decided I would try the pickup option. It was very busy with long lines especially for pickups. A lovely staff member came up to me, quickly gathered my items and I was out the door in 15 minutes or so making it a pleasant first experience. Highly recommend online shopping and delivery as well as using the pickup option.
They have special occasion cards which is why I was there. Birthdays on the horizon and such. They had a good selection of cards and was pleased with the final result. There weren't many in the store and the staff were hard to find but got what was wanted and made my escape. That's how I feel about all shopping experiences so nothing personal there!
Compared to many of Calgary's big book stores, this Indigo has the feel of a more personal environment. The staff, and customers, are exceedingly friendly and the atmosphere of the store is welcoming. It also has a wide selection of books in all genres, and a healthy sized area for children. Definitely one of the best in the city.
This store is located in Signal Hill Centre, the store is a good size. There's a Starbucks right in the middle of the store. There's usually quite a gathering of people having coffee in the middle of the store seated. The kids section is a good size, lots of toys and books to choose from. Great place to shop for kids gifts.
I find every Indigo Chapters to be very clean and this one is no different. I always find fantastic sales and bargains here. Layout is similar to all indigo chapters. It is always well-organized and stocked full. Every time I come here, I ask myself why I don't come more often. Bonus tip: free gift wrapping - just ask!
I love this location. Big selection of books, stationery, and home goods. Not many piano books available here but that is common for Indigo. Go to music stores if you're wanting to find sheet music. Staff are always friendly and quick. I've purchased in store and online for in store pick up and never had a problem.
They added a new coffee shop to replace the Starbucks which is great, there's a good selection of food items. But it's not a good place to work or study, there aren't any working power outlets, which is a real shame. Would love to hang out and work here but not if I can only stay for one laptop battery duration!
Friendly helpful staff. Welcome environment and intriguing products on display. Lots of books in stock, electronics, toys to engage the imagination, gifts and treats for special occasions. I shop here when I'm looking for unique and useful things. Also, a great place to give or receive a gift certificate for
This is a blast from the past, where I can physically touch things instead of ordering online. I'll admit, I found a lot of books I normally would've never discovered if I was doing everything online. Besides, there's a Starbucks here to keep you primed to continue the random shopping adventure.
It used to be possible to get pickup orders from their website and that was pretty handy. Not anymore, for some reason, that is not an option anymore. I find it to be so frustrating that their website doesn’t even tell you what books are available at the store. I wound NOT recommend this store.
The store itself is wonderful. The only issue were the people that decided to move chairs into the isles of merchandise to have their coffee, 1 hour later they were still sitting there. Didn't buy the blanket I had my eye on because I couldn't get to it! I'll stick to the Crowfoot Chapters.
Went to the store with a list of 8 books that I was interested in purchasing. This location ended up not having any of them in stock. Unfortunate that so much floor space is now dedicated now to giftware ($68 for a candle!). Recommend looking up your purchase for availability before going.
Bruce was super friendly and helpful with trying to find us our books he helped guide us through the store even though they are going through renovations he was able to help point us to the right direction and was very kind. Customer service was great at this location we will come back.
Very nice to shop here. Full but uncluttered and a great variety of books, stationery and other items. Always clean and organized. Staff are always pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Someone can always be found to help locate what you're looking for. Highly recommend this location.
It's got all the books you need and has very nice staff love it. Well organized, easy to navigate. Pretty great place reccomend coming here for any of your book needs or any Starbucks you may need. This place is also where I got my D&D stuff with a great supply. I love coming here.
Friendly and helpful staff. Really nice Indigo location with a lot of inventory. The Starbucks is buried in the store, but that gives it a nice ambiance. There is always lots of parking, and there are many other popular stores nearby. Would recommend if on the West side of Calgary.
Love the ambiance of this place. One of the best layouts of any Indigo or Chapters I've been in. Friendly staff and loads of choices. I noticed on their household goods like candles pillows and whatnot they have a fabulous selection of markdowns and sale items. Worth checking out!
Honestly, one of my favourite bookshops, with a wide variety of cookbooks to manga! Plus the atmosphere is great, although sad to see Starbucks still being closed, since a café right in the middle of Indigo would be great, since you could drink coffee while reading. 9/10 ❤️
If they don't have what you're looking for at this store, then it's unlikely that you'll locate your book at any other book retailer in Calgary. This location has an in store coffee shop with ample seating, a childrens, teens book sections, as well as a game board section.
Great book store either to browse, shop or have a coffee at the Starbucks inside the store. This place is amazing both for adults and kids. It has great titles and other products like toys, decoration and gadgets. Located at a comercial complex. Free parking available.
Love walking around. The decor is my favourite, all the home stuff jisg brings me delight. It's got a good Starbucks as well that actually has a surprising amount of privacy and seclusion. You can really escape in this place because it's so huge too! Highly recommend!
A nice place to browse books, have a coffee or do some reading. I enjoyed the indoor Starbucks and got to get some writing done in the tranquility of Indigo. The music was on and it was a good level to relax and still concentrate on one's work. I give it a thumbs up!!
This an amazing place to get together with your friends. There are so many great and interesting books here and the staff is also super duper friendly to everyone. Another nice thing about this indigo is that there is a Starbucks conveniently located inside of it.
Omg this store was so clean and organized. I was able to spend a long time actually enjoying the store instead of being stressed out trying to find what I needed. The coffee shop in the middle was such an awesome idea, too. I will definitely be back very soon.
I had a good experience here at Indigo. The store is clean and organized. There's a good variety of products, some that cost more and some others if you want to spend less. There's lots of books on display and staff are helpful if you can't find what you want.
A nice Starbucks with some seating area, tons of parking, and a good-sized book selection. I wish the fiction categories were separated a bit more than “fantasy & sci-fi” and “literally everything else,” but hey, that’s pretty much everywhere nowadays.
It's a very nice bookstore. Huge selection, convenient computer kiosks for finding out if they have the book you are looking for and locating it in the store. Some sections of shelves are mislabeled which made looking for things a bit difficult.
Trying to find a book on indigo website is almost impossible. No wonder people lose their s—t . I spent 20 minutes looking and finally gave up. What’s the use of having a site that is so unfriendly. Thanks for nothing should be zero stars
This is an okay store for okay people that likes to think it's something special but it is not. I worked here in high school for a little while and I can say that the management style is rigid and unchanged. Good Starbucks in the middle.
Great store. Very pricey but they will have the book you need. Staff is friendly and great to discuss books with. Great recommendations. The Starbucks inside was removed and I did enjoy grabbing a coffee while shopping, it added warmth.
The store is quite big and had a great experience shopping here. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The layout of the store is quite amazing. The products were fully shelved and easy to navigate around the store. Highly Recommended!!
Had to call in this morning to order some books which were in stock. I spoke with Chelsea and she was so pleasant & went above & beyond to help me with my purchase! So great to have such great customer service, thanks again Chelsea!
Enjoy this location for it's large open layout and large selection of books. The staff are always so helpful and friendly, they create a very upbeat environment in the space. Always find what I'm looking for and more!!
Amazing selection. They've never been out of stock on what I go in for. Super fast and friendly service. They always have lots of team members interacting with customers. This is so rare in the retail sector these days
It would be great that the store phone voicemail actually says the right working hours. Just picking up last minute presents and came at 9 in the morning just before going to work, but, they are opened from 10 am.
Very nice place for learning, discovering and be creative. The staffs are very helpful and caring, clean place! Love the little cafe, seat comfortably drinking coffee and start reading a good book! …
Good location, It's not as big as others and feels a little sparse in terms of some of their household/gifts section. Otherwise, book selection is good. Cafe in the middle of the store is a nice feature.
Always very clean and organized. Glad the computers are back online, because searching on my phone is not always the quickest or easiest. A great team in the store, who are always friendly and courteous.
Excellent selection of books for every occasion. Gifts for everyone on your list and a place to grab a little something to drink while you contemplate toot purchase. How does it get any better than that?
I’ve always liked book stores and how they’ve had to evolve over the years. This one is no different. Magazines, small electronics, small gifts, vinyl, coffee. I can truly spend a few hours in here.
I get all of my books from here but sometimes overpriced! The service is good as the store does not have a lot of traffic but sometimes I find books cheaper on Amazon. They also have toys for kids.
Great place to go if you are a booklover or just want to hang out with friends. Amazing selection of books for every taste, gift wrapping, electronics, sales, etc. Oh, and the iconic Starbucks.
I love this location. Bright and clean with friendly helpful staff. I was able to locate the books I needed with little difficulty finding them. Wish there was a Starbucks still inside though.
Walked in and was greeted right away. Employee helped me look for what I needed. They didn’t have it, but she showed me where I could find it and was super helpful. Great customer service.
Quick visit was able to find things for a newborn baby. Cashiers polite and offered a special we were not aware of. Saves $10.00. oh that will buy two coffees at Starbucks in store.
Aggressive marketing of cheap Chinese "impulse buy" items. Starbucks takes up a lot of floor space. If you actually want to buy books, I'd recommend a used book store, or Amazon.
For what it is, it's pretty good. I found everything I needed at a good price and friendly service. I do however think it's silly that the Starbucks inside is still shut down.
A smaller store of the chain, but nice lay out. Like the Starbucks in the middle with the seating. Good kids section and always have fast friendly service at check out.
Big location. Lots of books and extra "accessories" to choose from. Having the kids section is very nice too! The in house coffee shop also never fails to disappoint.
Staff on the floor were very helpful finding books for us. Staff at checkout helped find us the Xmas crackers that we wanted and it was very busy in the store!
When I found out that Good Earth coffee shop is there ,I love ❤️ that coffee . Seat and read a bit a,read enjoy your fav drink ! Super !
This branch of Indigo is probably the biggest in Calgary. There is a wide variety of books and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Love the atmosphere!! Great staff, good service, and Good Earth Coffe house makes it one of the best spots to chill …
The new Good Earth here is amazing! My favourite Indigo chain; so organized, clean, great music, great vibes, decor, etc.
Always a good place to shop, but my only criticism is that it wasn't clear I had to push a button at a desk for pick up.
I did not catch the name of the person who checked out my books the other day.. but they were very kind and helpful:)
They don't have a great mystery selection. Horror is okay. Home section is decent. Not my #1 Chapters in the city.
Purchased a few online orders and picked up at the store, very quick and friendly service. Great experience
One of my favourite locations in the city! Big store, friendly and helpful staff! Always love coming here!
I enjoy this store, its layout and selection. The staff are helpful and easy to access for assistance.
Absolutely filled with everything you need! Could finish all my Christmas shopping in this one store!!
As always, the best spot to find good books, lovely mugs and undeniable great looking Papyrus cards
Lady at the counter embarrassed me, and made me put on a mask, over the one I was already wearing.
They are constantly out of stock on things anytime I'm looking for it but it's a great store
Since Starbucks is gone, the new coffee shop is very underwhelming. Coffee has no taste.
Jillian really saved the day and went the extra mile to help me find my online order!
Always love coming here - really friendly staff with a very wide selection of books!
Nice place, only thing is that it's expensive. Really great spot for gifts though
Great place to buy books but also coffee, towels , shirts candles and alot more
They really need to make sure that the inventory reflected online is accurate.
It's books....what isn't to like? I always like the little gift ideas as well.
Great selection. Friendly staff. Love the Good Earth coffee shop inside too!
Great book store, I could spend an entire day there and not get bored.
This place has the COOLEST little seasonal displays. I love it here
I love the Signal Hill Indigo. One of my favourites in Calgary.
Decent book selection, always deals on new releases
It is quite simply one of my favorite places to go
Basic indigo, has things you’d expect (ie books).
Large well stocked store with friendly staff.
Staff were very friendly and accomodating
Love to explore and see the new products.
Huge. New coffee shop. Lots of selection
Alot of great products in the store
Clean and friendly, helpful staff
