Today, I was #THATcustomer and called this location because while I was walking along Stephen Ave I caught a book title that got my attention but I couldn't remember what it was. Madeline picked up the phone, and I am so glad that she was the one to help me. I sent her running all over the store because I ended up not describing accurately enough where I had seen the book. Madeline's customer service is really excellent, even though my request was a total pain in the butt ("um, I think the cover was light green and the title had two words in it... I think it was in this corner of the store...") - she ended up finding the book that I was looking for, and never made me feel like it was a waste of her time or that it was a strange request (which I think it totally was). Madeline, thank you so much for your help today. I hope this review gives you a little emotional boost and the evidence you need to earn a pay rise. This is officially my favorite Indigo location ❤️

I am a person with a medical condition and therefore exempt from wearing a face covering. Yet Indigo discriminates against people like me. Offering persons with preexisting conditions supposed 'reasonable accommodation' by suggesting they shop online is a specious argument that denies them the same tangible experience as those who are able to wear a mask while shopping at Indigo’s brick and mortar locations. Using the argument that Indigo premises are private property and excluded from mask bylaws, further shows Indigo’s lack of empathy and understanding of persons who are afflicted with underlying medical conditions, which precludes them from wearing any sort of face covering. Moreover, it is deplorable when the heads of Indigo put their clerks in the position of having to police a company policy that encroaches on the rights of a person with a medical disability.

I feel like the fiction section is lacking, and I know that isn't always a location problem but perhaps a corporation problem, so not really a big complaint. I wish they'd have more obscure and interesting titles, but I do realize it's a bookstore chain in the mall. My only qualm (again a corporate problem) is that the staff aren't allowed to order the books anymore and you have to do it yourself online. I'm capable of doing so, but if I was already there looking for the book, and realize it's not there, it would be convenient for the staff to just order it for me rather than me going home and probably forgetting about it. A mild complaint and nothing too crazy. Just an odd restriction.

Shout out to Beth - an amazing staff at this location. She and other staff like AJ, Madeline made this location become my favourite bookstore. Usually I shop wherever it's convenient for me, but the experience at this store is so good. Beth did her best to help me find good deals when shopping; it's Black Friday, and I knew she had a long day with long lines of customers, but she's so patient, kind and helpful. I feel guilty when made her spend time on answering my (silly) questions. You may say "it's her job", but Beth went above and beyond. Moreover, she shared with me her reviews on books that I bought and made me feel so excited to enjoy them.

pretty good book store, limited selection, like really really limited. there is no computer books to speak of, save maybe a decade old introduction to microsoft word and ipad for seniors and maybe half a dozen other books that are 80% glossy color screenshots with various items highlighted with big red arrows and the like. There is a good section beside the bibles for new age categorized books, with a good amount of tarot, crystal , witchcraft , spiritual books. So if you're looking for the crystal bible, chakra bible, tarot bible.

Decent location that started its life out as a Coles in the same spot. Like most Indigospirit stores, the selection is limited by the size of the store. The staff are great and, even with covid restrictions in place, the experience is an efficient one. With the closure of McNally Robinson on Stephen avenue a decade ago, this is essentially the only retail bookstore in the downtown core, and it's a pretty good one.

The staff here are generally very nice and pleasant to deal with, which is always appreciated especially considering how busy this store always seems to be. However, half the time I make the trip here they don't have what I'm looking for, even when the website says there should be multiple copies in stock. It can be a frustrating place to shop if you're not looking for something from the top 10 bestseller list.

Wonderful customer service! I was asked for help finding what I needed within 30 seconds of walking into the store. I was shown what I needed, and the indigo agent had a mobile pay machine and I could pay for what I needed right away. I was asked again while packing up my things if I needed a hand. Awesome! This store also is a lot bigger and has more selection than I thought from the pictures

Unfortunately I didn't find what I was looking for, but the staff were more than happy to help me find the next closest store that did and also gave me a coupon to order online if that's how I wanted to get it. Store itself is always very clean and organized. It is one of the smaller stores so be sure to check if they have stock before dropping in if you're looking for something specific.

Indigo offers a plethora of products beyond books. If you are looking for gifts, this is one of the best places to shop because they have friendly staff and have amazing products for people from all walks of life. Indigo also houses American Girl boutique in Chinook. If you want to unwind after the shopping, Starbucks is also conveniently located inside the Chinook store.

Love this location. Even though it is a bit on the small side, is has a better variety than a lot of others. I found the books I had been searching for here after looking in nearly every other bookstore I could find. The staff are amazingly knowledgeable and experienced. They are always willing to help and even just discuss their opinions on a new book that has come out

There store isn’t that big, but the sorting books isn’t very intuitive so I had a hard time finding the book I was looking for. It isn’t obvious where the shelves continue from one to the next. However the staff were super helpful and found it very quickly when I asked for help. They also had a special promotion going on in store so I got a deal as well.

It was the downtown core and you could only gain access through the mall main doors, very friendly staff and inviting Greeters must be wearing protective masks great sale going on and I enjoyed not being hounded or talked down too... thank you for the repeat business I will be coming back to that store Specifically the CORE Mall

Pleasant staff, it is possible to find books on your own if you don’t really like to communicate with people using computers, friendly and helpful people in the store team, a large assortment of goods and constant novelties from booktok, there are often discounts and the store is quite pleasant in appearance.

It's the same bookstore it's always been. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. I don't know the store well enough to navigate it so am always looking for assistance. Most of the time it's fairly straightforward to track someone down though. Nice to have a book store inner city.

They dont price match and every book i looked at was cheaper on AMAZON. unfortunate. I realy like how they followed me around because of my style ... But thats fine its fun for me but sad because i do not steal so they have wasted me as a target ... ...i actually catch people stealing for a living LOL .

For a smaller location of the popular bookstore chain, this store has a good mix and selection of books, gifts and home. The good variety of books are well organized and displayed making shopping a pleasant experience. Definitely brings back the joys of shopping in a bookstore rather than online.

Checked to make sure with employee that they have the book in store. Couldn't find it, said it's probably in the back. I asked if someone could get that and she said no but I could order it online...or I could do Amazon? So the book is in the store but I can't pay money in exchange for it.

The woman with brown short hair and glasses greeted me at the door and politely asked me if I needed any help locating anything. I found the book I was looking for as the store is well stocked and organized. My purchase was rung through right away. Very wonderful, welcoming, customer service!

I went up to ask the cashier a question as soon as I approached she said dont ask me anything I probably wont be able to answer you. It was very standoffish and un appeaochable. I didnt get the girls name. However I have been here before and received excellent customer service from Melissa.

Every time I go here the staff are super friendly and helpful. I almost always get something for my little brother who was just born. The nice thing is that I never feel pressure. They've even indicted how much more I'd save getting a book online. Love it, not too big and not too small!

Worst !!! Came here to buy books and they don’t have instock . Told to order it online coz it’s fast and easy . It’s been 1 month and I still didn’t get my full order. Worst suggestion ever . And didn’t see any effort to help me to get my books faster ! Don’t go on this location !

One can always find variety of learning or activity book(s) in this store. It is strategically located where one take their time to browse and finally land on a perfect gift(s) for kid(s). The store is always well-organized and joy to look around and may find one's fancy.

Much smaller indigo can l compared to other locations, i guess that's why it's called "spirit" ? It's like it's not even there... Good that there is one downtown, wish it was bigger, maybe they should join up with the Starbucks across the hall and lease a bigger space

I am an avid reader and the staff are very knowledgeable and take time to check out authors and new releases. Have a reward card to add up points for discounts off books. Will order books in if they are out of stock. Bring in authors to promote new releases.

Quick, effortless, and relatively undisturbed, I picked out a new journal while listening to an audio tape. Liza assisted me in my transaction, and was able to help me recover, and amend, my customer info. I will return to this location for sure.

Typical smaller Indigo store that still manages to have their gift/trinket section along with a few boardgames and a fairly large children's section. It's a great stop if you're looking for gift as they offer much more than just books.

I would say it's definitely one of the smaller indigo's I have been too, a decent selection of books but not a lot of copies of each one. For such a small store it can be rather hard to find a staff member to help you locate a book.

Love that I can access from the +15 and not have to walk in the cold. Pretty good selection but smaller than the chinook or Sunridge locations. Nice that you can look up or get help to find a location that may have the book you want

This store caters to most everything, thought it's quite small compared to other indigo's in its size and selection. The staff and workers are extremely friendly, always willing to lend a hand to the customer and give there best.

Quick shopping bookstore. The staff are friendly and helpful, they sell many kind of books. But not complete and big ad chapter. But here you can find book more quickly than big chapter. I always come to here buy comic books.

This place is never crazy busy when I have gone which is nice because you get that time to stay in a section and really look through the books! The staff are always super helpful and knowledgeable which is always a plus.

I go to this Indigo quite often since I work in the area and all the staff are so lovely! I went in last week and the lady at the till was so nice and friendly, and so helpful! I love this store.

Cute bookstore in the city, lots of great selection and the girl at the counter directed me to what I wanted quicky and with a smile and even gave me a reccomendation for next time, can't wait!!!

Well stocked place. Good place to shop for gifts (no wrapping services provided as far as I know though). Has a collection of stationary. Has a small collection of toys, chocolates and fitbits

The staff here are kind, respectful, and helpful. I have always had excellent customer service here. If they do not have something in stock, they will do their best to find it for you.

This is a really nice bookstore. It has loads of other items. It is a great place to find a gift for someone, or yourself. Many nice notebooks, blankets, and even cozy reading socks!

I feel joyful when I visit Indigo, the one in downtown has excellent distribution and is easy to find the genre I am looking for. The staff is not as friendly as I would like.

They have an extensive fantasy section which is my jam. Unfortunately, prices for books in Canada are about the same if not worse than Australia. Thought they'd be cheaper.

Extra friendly and helpful staff. Almost cornerstone bookstore level, reminiscent of "You've got mail". Always nice to find presents there and they know their stock well.

I wish they had a bigger manga section and kept with new releases but the staff are always very helpful so even if they don't have what you need you can always order it.

Looking for special Bible for someone. Found just the perfect one. The childrens section is all bling n draws you in. I also love Papyrus cards. And they have many.

They are always so nice when I go in. They may not have the biggest stock, but they will help you find whatever you are looking for, and recommend places to go to.

I forget the gentleman name who helped me find the Alan Watts books but he was super helpful and had amazing recommendations for books. Thanks for help again man!

They are selling used toys together with the new ones on the same shelf at the same price. Disappointed. I don't recommend this place to buy toys for toddlers.

Good selection of books, but closes very early, why would it close at 6:00 when the mall is open until 8:00? Still a good book store, but closes way too early
