Initially, the first contact I had was very pleasant, and without fuss, as I arranged a quote for moving our things interstate. When the time came for the items to be picked up the truck, and the driver, were a no show. Apparently these truck issues also stopped all cellar service and thumb use because no one informed me or my proxy. Eventually through persistent trying we contacted the driver (not the boss of the business, but the drivers mobile, as the only business contact number was off and unreachable) and was told simply that "truck issues had caused them to not be able to make it, and they would" try" again tomorrow. I told them that this was unprofessional and received the response of "..... Welllllll". The next day the truck showed 4 hours late with minimal contact until well past their due time. While this all occurred the boss was still unreachable. Eventually our belongings was picked up and sent off. We were given a rough date of a week for transport, but yet again the due date passes and I still could not reach the boss to get an explanation as to where our stuff was. I eventually track down the driver's number and confront him, only to be given another vague idea of a date after much stress. Eventually our things are delivered (3 weeks after the initial quoted date) and I finally receive contact - a email, not a call, despite the large amount of calls I placed, explaining that the boss had been ill. I was originally attracted to this business because of the pricing, when compared to larger companies, however, this is not a professional business. It's service is a joke and on the whole I would not recommend this company to move a sandwich from the fridge to the counter, let alone your personal belongings.

Worst experience ever! Im in tears! I used them as I could afford them but i cant afford to replace my furniture. Stay far away from this removalist. Just moved with Nigel to Qld. My new (6 month old) light fabric couches & bed mattress were not covered and left on a rusty truck base for 4 weeks. My mattress and couches are damp, smell like damp & have such bad water & rust marks i will have to take them straight to the tip. Nigel did not inform me that I needed insurance, but I was now told that its not his problem. Logic would dictate to most that you don't place light fabric furniture on rusty & damp surfaces, I just don't understand. When people engage removalists they are entrusting them with everything they own and generally sentimental items. There was no care shown here, no thought for the person behind the furniture. In November last year I fled an abusive relationship with nothing & I had to start all over again. I guess I will have try and restart again

We recently used Island removals to relocate from Launceston to One of the Moreton Bay Islands near Brisbane (March 2018). We found Nigel and his team to be excellent, with all appointments met in a timely manner and our worldly possessions were well packed and transferred from the house to the truck and truck to the new house with care and no damage. Nigel had to keep to a tight deadline as we had booked a barge for the final leg of the journey and he kept us informed as to his location and ability to meet the barge for the appointed time. Nigel answered all of our calls and queries promptly. We obtained twelve quotes for this move and Nigel's was by far the cheapest. From our experience we have no hesitation in recommending Island Removals for your move.

Nigel and the team helped back load our belongings from Sydney to Hobart in 2021. They are very responsive and don’t mind answering all my questions. I’ve tasked them again to facilitate picking up and storing our things while we take a road trip. They will move it our next interstate interstate whether it be Melbourne or Brisbane in due course. Prices are very reasonable and service was a great. Can highly recommend for your next move in or out of Tassie.

We used Island Removals in the lead up to Christmas, and despite the busy time of year they were great. No complaints. Nigel was super helpful at answering my questions and always quick to get back to me. I had to make a few changes to our item list after confirming and he was really accommodating. Pick up and drop off of items (Tas to Qld) was seamless and quicker than I expected with good communication from the driver.

Excellent service. Everything went to plan, from picking up our boxes in Melbourne on the date required to delivery at our home in Hobart. The removalists were extremely helpful on delivery, taking time to place the boxes where I wanted them and keeping me in contact with times. Nothing was too much to ask them. I would highly recommend Island Removalists and would definitely use the company again.

Nigel and his team were amazing! The cheapest I could find transferring from Sydney to Hobart. They were they only ones who were able to accommodate us despite of the short notice. It was very easy and quick to work with Nigel and his team. They are friendly and very helpful. All our boxes and furniture and even bicycles was packed safely and covered with thick blankets in between. We moved from Howrah Tasmania to Brisbane and everything arrived in great condition.will definitely recommend them, great service and excellent value!

Terrible service from Nigel. I had a number of damaged items arrive, along with lost boxes along the way. I tried my utmost to be professional, but Nigel was arrogant, rude and denied any responsibility of the damage (despite have clear proof that the damage as caused in transit). Stay well away from using this service provider.

We have recently moved from Tasmania to NSW. The boys took a lot of care removing and packing all our belongings. The communication and customer service was spot on. Our belongings were delivered in a timely fashion to the location we specified. They even provided pictures to set our mind at ease. Thanks guys it was a pleasure.

Nigel and the Jacobs were great. They jumped in on a job we needed done the next day, were friendly and straightforward, very careful with our antique furniture and gave great advice on the best way to protect delicate items to travel interstate. Cannot fault them in any way, highly recommend!
