We had 1st used Jerrett 17 years ago when our dad had passed away & were very happy with the service we received then. When our Mom had passed away Sept.13th we had already decided to choose same home however hit a few glitches to an otherwise great experience. Had already had her body sent to Jerrett then found out some policies had changed over 17 yrs. & were not allowed to bring in outside caterers namely Japanese food but we were not interested in the kind the caterers provide but more traditional dishes. Found out Mount Pleasant visitation centre allowed outside caterers which would have also been convenient as both parents are in a niche there. Ran into double charges for transportation & extra storage costs if she was retransfered next day so we decided to stay w/original plans. Staff were excellent & so obliging but my only complaint was your antiquated audio/visual system for showing a beautiful loop of photos my daughter had painstakingly compiled that not only included family but photos that included friends that would have attended the funeral. Even by following instructions on how to do this we had difficulty & although your staff tried to assist the night before could not get it to run off DVD. The day of the service still had trouble & finally got it going off the laptop onto a small projector screen in the Chapel just in time. Would be beneficial to have large screen tv's wall mounted in the rooms other than the Chapel whereby the pics could just be run off a USB stick. Thank goodness we had many picture boards in the chapels but finally got it going. We delayed guests from going in the Chapel for visitation till the problem was solved but it was a big needless stressor at the time. We had a time restraint for the funeral as one brother was travelling fom B.C. so my daughter worked on the pics day/night to complete it in a short time. THE EQUIPMENT IS WAY BEHIND THE TIMES & NEEDS UPGRADING IMMEDIATELY. I had even addressed the staff about this at the time & they were sympathetic & probably not the 1st time they were hearing that. As minor a detail as you may think, in my estimation would have made me an unhappy client. A big thank you to all your staff we dealt with during this time. They were more than patient in dealing with all our uncertainties, changes & scattered thought processing, namely Sophia, Macey & the main gal we dealt w/who I had mistakingly called Mason & her name escapes me & the lady at reception who wore the exact same brooch on her suit as the one I wore both given to us by our moms!

The whole Jerrett Scarborough team provided my family and I extraordinary service during our time of sadness and grief from the loss of our mother. Jessika met us and helped us finalize all the arrangements for our mom’s final journey to rest with her late husband in Newfoundland. She was so compassionate and gave us options to consider in our planning. Golie met us at the door and expressed her condolences and showed us to a meeting room and made sure we had everything we needed.Jason handled all the shipping arrangements and kept us informed every step of the way. His kind, friendly and professional approach helped us to be confident that every detail would be attended to so we could focus on family time. Flora took care of all the contract and financial issues with the utmost professionalism and communicated clearly and expressed her compassion and care throughout. Our mom looked amazing and was received in Newfoundland in a timely and safe manner. We could not have asked for better service than what the Jerrett Scarborough team provided us.

Our recent experience with this funeral home was not positive. We had preplanned the funeral and don’t know if this led to the issues we faced or whether they were due to having insufficient staff. The Funeral Planning process was sloppy. There was a delay in posting the obituary on the website, and items relating to the service were never discussed with us, resulting in awkward moments. Communication with us and amongst staff was poor. One staff member would start a task and go off work for the weekend. Other staff who were to follow thru seemed unaware, until we followed up. We all understand the need for COVID procedures but some requirements seemed more to decrease their cleaning workload than keep people safe. On the day of the service, staff were polite and professional with us. Jeff was particularly kind. The pictures and mementos were nicely displayed. The hassles leading up to and during the service,however, added anxiety to an already difficult day. I will never prepay a funeral again or do business with this company.

Sadly, we have managed many funerals (some with Jerrett) but it was this experience that will leave a lasting impression in all our hearts for the rest of our lives. Colleen is by far one of the best, most compassionate individuals I have ever met... the way she extended her services leads us to believe, with no doubt, that she went above and beyond. We fell in love with Colleen within the very first interaction. These times are tough, but, we must appreciate how educational and easy colleen made it on all of us, given the circumstances. You would be hard-pressed to find another individual more suitable, or, better to manage these types of services.... she was absolutely fantastic... I can't say it enough. At the lowest point of our family's history, while everything in our lives was shattering around us, Angel and Tavia from the Scarborough Jerrett location were keeping everything together for us. They were jumping through immeasurable hoops, dealing with consulates, govermnent agencies, holding our hands, helping us with paperwork we were in no mental state to deal with by ourselves. The care provided to us and to my late father were beyond what we could ever have hoped for. We will forever be thankful to Jerrett and especially Angel and Tavia for having treated us so lovingly and professionally and for treating my father with the utmost dignity that he so deserved. The facility is amazing and staff we dealt with as well. Although couple of things however were problematic. Selecting a casket appears to be made to be confusing as to pricing versus casket selection. Instead of having a price listed on actual caskets or pictures on it we had to keep referring back to a price list which Was confusing. Also very disappointing was that my dad’s obituary was posted with incorrect second name nor had actual obituary posted for two days of which most people viewing it didn’t see his correct name nor heartfelt write up from our family. The incorrect name even went so far that donations have been put in the wrong name. This alone has disappointed us to no end.

We would like to say a big thank you to your entire staff for the way they took care of our daughter and us. From the time they came for her body the young man told me he was personally going to take care of my daughter, and that seems to have gone throughout your organization. Your director treated us like family, we appreciate it so much. I have done this before as I experienced the way you all looked after my Mother and stepfather, but I can tell others of the treatment I received from your company. Speaking on behalf of myself, my family and our friends, we would highly recommend Jerrett Funeral Home at 660 Kennedy in Scarbourough, Ontario. My Grandmother recently passed away in her 101st year. She was the head of our family and so very loved. In my sister’s words, “I’ve heard that funeral home staff could make things easier but I never thought it was true until we had to do this. I’m so glad we used Jerrett.” The staff was friendly yet professional and treated both us and Grandma as though we were family. I can’t say enough good things. They made an awful situation just that much easier. This is the funeral home to use.

I have been to Jerrett Funeral homes for extended family funerals and was always impressed with their facility and staff as a guest. Having recently experienced the passing of our mother, I got to see an even greater level of professionalism, experience and empathy as our family navigated through the worst time in our lives. Jessica was our main point of contact, and her knowledge of our cultural traditions and grasp of the Macedonian language made the process that much more comforting and streamlined. The entire staff was great during the process, and i'd highly recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

Despite the COVID restriction and limitations, Jerrett was extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. Helen & Macey were very attentive in organizing and facilitating the short period we had left with mom. They've explained clearly with us what to expect during the small memorial service as everything nowadays have very strict protocols. But despite, Macey was able to deliver and was very professional in handling any unexpected circumstances. Thank you once again Jerrett for your excellent service.

I was incredibly impressed by everyone who I dealt with at Jerrett. Not only were they professional, they were also warm & caring in everything. They made my arrangements easy to complete & gave me suggestions that made the whole experience a comfort to me & my family. All our friends & family had nothing but praise for the funeral & the cemetery service as well as the visitation. I would recommend them every time! I have used other homes for my parent in the past but they didn’t come near to Jerrett’s experience.

Please stay away from this place the behaviour was so bad and they charge us 4000 for a service that other places charge only 2500 for.my mom has a pre paid funeral and they kept the interest and then asked for another 480 for my mom cremation. The person did not want to be there and started yelling call the police or whoever you want over my mom body. They did not tell us they had her ashes until the new year. Please stay away from this place and tell anyone to do the same

I have to tell the truth, I was worried and scared when it came to mom's funeral. We decided to delay things due to the holidays. The service was over the weekend and it was the best funeral ever. Can’t say enough about pre-planning for your funeral. My father passed away with a pre-planned cremation at Jerrett’s. Everything was prepared as per the agreement. Expected additional costs were related to flowers, food and reception. All was taken care of. So much easier and comforting knowing all the decisions have been made. Jerrett’s did a great job.

My sister-in-law passed away during the current pandemic situation. Fortunately her funeral had been pre-arranged. The staff at Jerrett Fuberal Home could not have been more caring and professional.
