Thiseems to be a neighborhood favorite and St Pattys day was especially a busy day. I came here with my husband to celebrate where there had no reservations ahead of time, just walkins and cash only. The wait was an hour but it didn’t shock me. This place has at least 12 draft beers and plenty of bottled beers, and mixed drinks made fairly quick. They also advertise live music on some nights and have very cute Irish decorations and Guinness products . PS i saw Nicole Malliotakis stop by the bar so that’s how you know this place is popular. When I finally sat down , the table was clean with good condiments and nice waiters. I tried the chicken wings and irish nachos off their limited st pattys menu, and I have to say the buffalo sauce on the wings and bleu cheese was spectacular and filling , amazing portions. The irish nachos are also mixed fries with pico de gallo and cheese. It is creative but it probably would of been just as fun on real nacho chips. For drinks we got classic jack and cokes($16 im not complaining) and they were strong, dark and stormy! For entree I got their infamous corned beef platter and my husband got fish and chips but their burgers on the menu had literal chips not fries, it held us back from trying the burgers because we are used to eating them with fries. Nonetheless those portions were big too with amazing seasoning and were tasty. For $100 dollars on all these items it is solid. What holds me back from giving this place 5 stars is their dirty bathroom. I also think they can make better use of their space since they have two dining rooms. I saw several tables not being used for dining in second room meanwhile many people were waiting to be seated. They randomly put one table on stage too at the spur of the moment . I think if they rearranged their furniture and space they can handle a lot more traffic and have a comfortable space. I look forward to returning

Hello. I recently dined here (about a week ago) and felt compelled to post a review. I've never reviewed a restaurant before but the sheer fact of how bad the food was turned me to do this. The beer selection was great, and the staff were acceptable. The food however, was deplorable. Cheap, frozen, and poorly made food slapped together and called a "special". When did restaurants start calling frozen reheated food, specials? Must have missed the memo. I had the fish and chips and it was so bad I literally could not finish my plate. I decided to try the "homemade" desserts as I figured this might have changed my mind about the place. I was very wrong. The "homemade" dessert was a slice of store bought cheesecake. I used to dine at this establishment 10-15 years ago and the food was amazing. Whoever these new owners are clearly lost the plot and have no clue what they are doing in the restaurant business. Cheap A*holes. I didn't think the situation could get much worse than the food but this was the cherry on top. As much as it pains me to say, it's best this place closes it's doors.

Place has absolutely vile food. If I could give 0 stars I would. It is astonishing that it receives good reviews frequently. All the food is clearly frozen. All of the dishes are either piping hot (as if it was thrown in the microwave), or reheated in the oven and is cold in the center. The staff are always pleasing and willing to make things right. I noticed I wasn't the only table complaining about my food, and it is sad to see the waitstaff have to endure complaints. The owners are clearly cheap drunks that get the bare minimum, low quality food that is required to somehow stay open. Also not very surprised the health rating is so low. Place is filthy with an outdated, and cold ambiance. There was also an older man rapidly darting back and forth from what I assume is the kitchen door, looking stressed and making the entire dining room very uncomfortable while me and the mrs were dining. It's a shame this place has fallen this low and it is in good gesture I post this review to maybe change things.

My friend Dylan randomly asked me to come here with him once after a very fun Sunday I had in Holmdel Park in New Jersey. While the kitchen was closed by the time we got there, my friend Dylan certainly ordered his fair share of drinks. He got two Guinness and one Jameson on the rocks. Since my friend Kev loves shilling Jameson to everyone he knows, I even took a picture of it to send to him. Being the teetotaler that I am, I simply had a water with lemon. Since I had so many refills though, I opted to give the bartender a 5$ dollar tip. The place has a nice environment with a very authentic Staten Island and Irish element to it. The bartender was a very cool guy too. If anyone's in the area, I think it's a nice hidden gem to go try out.

Very grateful for Joyce’s tavern and their staff. We were able to enjoy a great meal in between viewings for my grandpas wake around back at Scalias. Joyces was ready for all 25+ of us. Ken was behind the bar and served us quickly. The wait staff was amazing and brought out the food as quickly as we ordered it to ensure we made it back for the next session. The food was amazing as always. Corned beef was the #1 ordered item and everyone was blown away. Thank you Joe, Joe and Kenny

Do not eat here. Food grade from the city is a B and that’s being generous. Grease and grime everywhere, mice running all about. Order food? Expect it to be dry or the greasiest thing ever. Order a steak? Get ready to get the thinnest and most well done steak you’ve ever eaten. Just going to the bar? Expect the loudest music being blasted in youre ear and terrible service. Terrible establishment I recommend not wasting youre money here.

As a small business owner and someone who appreciates family hustle, I was very impressed and honored to enjoy cocktails and food with the O’Toole’s during and following the loss of my closest friend Tim. I will certainly be patronizing Joyce’s more often and can’t say enough great things about their food, service and energy inside this first class family establishment. Lastly, I highly recommend their bacon cheeseburger, Ruben egg rolls, thanksgiving egg rolls and Rubin quesadillas… just to name a few. Caitlin and her family are great.

I walked into Joyce’s Tavern for the first and last time today. There was one guy and a bartender having a conversation and when I walked in (probably because I look really young but I’m 26) and gave me the most judgemental looks ever when I went to the bar. I tried saying hi and showing him my ID. And the bartender said “Get out of here, I’m not serving you.” And I left. It was just rude and unprofessional, and I’m never coming back after that 5 seconds.

The hamburgers were pretty good. But the onion rings and french fries were very very greasy. The waitress seemed to care more about texting on her phone then taking care of customers. I know this is a mom-and-pop business but I've never seen a waitress just stand there out in the open, texting away while customers like myself needed service. It seemed like every time you asked her for something she had an attitude like I was disturbing her from texting.

First time there had the cottage pie was excellent heard this place was awesome and the food was great, if the rest if the food is as good as the cottage pie can't wait to try the other food can't comment on the drinks because I don't drink any more due to health issues no I wasn't an alcoholic LOL. WISH I WOULD OF TAKEN A PIC. Advice go eat with a friend or two the way pub food should be eaten laughing and enjoying a friend's company.

I go here often and usually love the food. Tonight i was very disappointed. I ordered the corned beef and it was one of the fastest CB sandwiches i ever had. Not to mention the portion was very small. Seemed like whoever the chef was tonight was off his game. I was embarrassed to say anything which is very unlike me. Next time i speak up. I will definitely be back as im hoping this was a one time thing.

Had a small gathering of 22 people in their side room. We had chicken quesadillas which were deliciously loaded with cheese and chicken. We also were served pork egg rolls, salad, and other small foods that I was unable to eat. Food eaten was overall excellent and I would recommend. I wanted to give this 4.5 Star rating because of the awkward setup of the space and limited service.

Don’t go unless you are a white Republican They openly discriminate and allow patrons to do so as well I’ve gone several times over the years as it’s a local option and the number of times I’ve hear the n word…the fa* term and such is sickening Food went downhill as well Sorry It’s 2023 no need to have to deal with this behavior

This is my 5th visit to this restaurant, an upscale Irish pub, in 3 days…. Anyone who knows me knows that I never eat at the same restaurant 3 days in a row… Until now…. The hostess Anna, the waitress Diana, Jose, and the GM Rory are top tier service professionals and the food beyond reproach…. They have earned a permanent visit each time we visit NYC, make it one of yours!

  • Patrick Connors

The appetizer was overly fried. My wife and I both ordered burgers. Both came out burned and dried with absolutely no seasoning. They accidentally charged me a neighboring tables order and my own. I would never come back to this establishment nor would I recommend it to any of my friends. The phots posted are deceiving and don’t project what really comes out 0/10.

  • Ryan Gardner

Place is very greasy and dirty. I wouldn’t recommend coming here. Ordered a burger had to send it back twice because it was over cooked both times. Only good thing are the appetizers but any frozen appetizer tastes good when drunk, spend your money somewhere else.

Ordered the cheeseburger sliders, they were dripping with blood. The corn beef sliders were thrown on these thick mini rolls and were dry. The French fries came out soaked in oil and looked like they were old and sitting there and the cook just re fried them and then served them.

I went to Joyces tavern this past monday and the food and service was amazing! My server was a young man (can’t remember his name lol). I ordered the classic burger with swiss cheese. The server was very attentive constantly asking how everything was and if we needed anything. I will definitely be going back!

Service is always great. The burgers are the best!! No better taste then a hand made burger fresh off the grill. Bartenders are always on point to fill up your glass. Great place to sit and watch a game or sit and talk with friends. No blasting music or underage drinkers.

I've been to this tavern twice and both times I left satisfied. The Pulled pork sliders were good BUT the Angus burger is the star attraction here! I highly recommend anybody who loves medium rare Angus beef to get to this place ASAP! It tasted like America!
