"Very happy, had keys cut and a watch battery replaced there"
Very upset and frustrated by the man in there (old, I think Greek? He has been there for years and works alone). I asked him to cut two sets of keys for my front door from the original bunch. I had made it so clear yesterday because mistakes happen. I do not know how he cut the wrong one. I specifically asked him to please cut the brand new shiny silver one on the bunch, not any of the others. I have been blamed for giving him the wrong key. Hang on, isn’t the customer meant to be right, what happened to customer service? Especially since it’s a quick job and he was just sitting there idle when I walked in. I’m six months pregnant and this is not what I need, i dont need him shouting at me and accusing me of lying. So that’s £16 down the drain. I said I have used his shop before and am a returning customer but that will be my last time. Not that he cared at all because he gets enough people in there. Oh and it’s cash in hand, which means paying £1.20 to withdraw your own money out from the ATM next door to his shop in order to pay him. He is lucky that he is the only shop like that local to there (that I am aware of) so can be as dismissive and rude as he wants and still get customers through the door.
Stay away; the owner is abusive and screamed at me in a language I don’t speak while I was there with my newborn. He repaired a pair of sandals that the soles separated and left some parts broken, didn’t notice until I pointed out, so glued again but left glue very visible. He then yelled at me when I pointed out and got his son on the phone. Although son said to bring back if they don’t work, I have no desire to be abused again. The sandals do not fit properly now. One is too big when they both used to fit perfectly. So much for trying to make due and mend.
The sole of my Docs had partially split, and I took them for repair yesterday. He did a thorough job gluing them up, he was done in less than 10 minutes, and he only charged a few quid. The Docs seem to holding up so far, so I’d definitely recommend. I think it’s cash only, there’s an ATM outside.
AMAZING would 100% recommend, the old man was very kind, he replaced the battery in my watch and resized it to fit my wrist in less than 5 minutes (I didn’t have to leave) all for a tenner. Will definitely be going to this shop from now on for anything I need!
Very happy, had keys cut and a watch battery replaced there. Both cheap, in fact the watch battery replacement was £5. The chap in there is very helpful. There is a free ATM just up the road towards Holloway.
