Lol Elizabeth Schieber. Your kids are gross without shoes and can get hurt if they step on something sharp. How do you not know this? Lmfao. If the staff know they don’t have a book after three minutes of looking- They don’t have the book. If you ask them to look in the back- WHERE THEY WORK A LOT- Then yeah, you’re dumb and rude. You’re obviously an impatient idiot. Waldo library has a wide variety of books. Including comics and manga for teens! ITS ALWAYS HARD TO GET TEENS TO READ. It seems like their collection is always expanding. My dad LOVES that he can use the cds and burn them onto his iPod. It’s his favorite thing. I wish I looked more into their movie selection, they seem to have a good amount of movies from what I hear. They have soooo many activities. For kids to stay entertained, teens to stay out of trouble, and adults to get help they need. While the computer wait time can take some time- You’re probably impatient if you think it’s too long. People don’t know how to reasonably wait nowadays. Their staff is so kind!! I had a woman stay with me while the library was closing and try her best to find the WEIRDEST topic for a school project. (The book she selected wasn’t used, but it was sure as heck interesting!) They have a small, but AWESOOOOOME shelf of books that are FILM CONCEPT ART BOOKS! As an artist, I am impressed. It may not be the biggest, flashiest, or quickest library. But it values more important things: Variety, friendliness, AND FREAKING SILENCE.
It was my first time there and as I walked in the staff kept looking at me weird like they didn't want to be bothered. So I asked the security that I needed to use a computer/printer and he was like they are over there and if you have any questions one of our librarian can help you and as soon as he said that they all looked at me like okay go help yourself. So I ended up just following the instruction they have infront of their computers and printer and thank God I was able to figure out without having to bother anyone in the library that works there. And they didn't even bothered to approach me or help me in any way and I wasn't going to ask after the way they looked at me. Well the end of the story is I didn't feel welcome at this place so I will stick with Mid-Continet Library they are more welcoming and try to help you.
Don't even bother, this place is useless unless you're wanting to check out a book. I had a question for a reference librarian, wanted to translate county "parcels" to latitude and longitude. Presumably this is something that is in a reference book, but nobody even tried - my question was dismissed with in a minute, and they waved at the computers. When I said that I'd exhausted own searches already I was referred to the main library downtown. I could have sworn people actually had degrees in library science but apparently they're not required by this location. Sorry, but I grew up in an era when librarians prided themselves on being able to find any particular piece of information. This was just pathetic.
Probably the worst branch of the Kansas City Library. Have had multiple negative experiences, once being asked to leave because my barely walking baby did not have shoes on. Just today, a staffer was unable to locate my hold after approximately 3 minutes, told me and my stroller full of babies to come back again tomorrow rather than continue to look in the back. The list goes on and on. If it weren't around the corner from us we would no longer be patrons.
The toy area is pretty dirty. I don't think the toys have been cleaned EVER. The legos have a layer of scum on them that is thick enough the scratch off with your fingernail, and the puppets need to be put through the wash so terribly bad. They smell and look terrible. The books in the children's area are not much better. They need a good wipe down. I think we will continue to make the trek out to MidContinent. It is much cleaner.
My mom and I drove to the Waldo library to print out a Form for the new Insulin Pump that I should be receiving an Insulin Pump in November of this year! Very cool news! I didn't take any photos of this Library when I was there, however if anyone is interested in the Waldo Library, please consider going to the Library sooner rather than later this year.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. I'm visually disabled and Kim walked me thru the services and pricing. I can scan, print, and more. I love what you can do at the library. Dropped off a book. Scanned a few documents for uploading.
Don't know her name but she is the only white woman with red hair who works there is the nastiest person I've ever encountered. Every time I go in there she is so mean, horrible attitude.
This branch has hands down the nicest staff. They are so friendly and helpful and you can just tell it’s a good working environment. We are always able to find books that interest us.
It's always a pleasure to visit the library. The serenity alone is amazing. The summer programs bare top tier. The kids are excited to read, because they get rewards now
Waldo Library is the best. They are open to make copies and use computer. They also offer HOLD/PICKUP, e-books, lots of other resources on line. Love my library.
Always a delight. Go out of my to go here with my boy's, who both enjoy the atmosphere, staff and amenities. Truly a breath of fresh air and community treasure.
My go to place to copy documents, internet and finding a good book plus everyone there is friendly and very informative and helpful when needed.
Probably need to get a library card. Nice, clean, quiet! It's a library. Great place to hang out at. Especially if everyone is on your nerves.
This is a great library for checking out books and movies plus you can use computers to access internet for your information needs.
Just voted. It took less than 10 minutes from getting in line to walking out the door. Felt super comfortable. Great job everyone!
Got right in to vote in the evening. I was really surprised so few people were there so close to the polls closing for the night.
We love the library and have recently started using our e-library card. Great staff, great location, great options
Could use a faster wifi service & also could really use an update. Great place for business meetings though.
Excellent social distancing, exceptional service & cleanliness, always a wonderful library experience.
Usually quiet. Shortage of computers compared to need at times. Pay to Print, bring change
Associate elizabeth was very kind, helpful, and quick at helping get the book i wanted!
Is better than most libraries i have been to.It is very quiet for a public library.
