WARNING - Stay clear of this place unless you speak Chinese and find stereotypical Chinese service and attitude acceptable. I went today (Oct 11th, 2023) because I really needed a massage after doing a 3 day trail running event (10 miles each day). I called beforehand asking for the price for 1 hour massage but got hung up on. I then get a text msg saying it's ¥50 for half an hour. I mistaken read this as ¥50 for an hour. I went down and rang the bell. The female masseuse let me in and it appeared she was the only one there. I ask for an 1 hour massage. The lady wrote on her phone "60". I paid thinking I was getting an 1 hour massage for $60. The massage started at 11:35 AM and ended a little before 12:00 PM. The lady was motioning to me (since she didn't speak English) to put on my clothes and to go. I was confused and tried to convene (via her phone translator) that I thought the massage was for 1 hour. Via her phone translator, she said it was ¥50 for the massage and ¥10 for tip (which I was not informed of beforehand). In all of my experiences with massage places, I've never had one that included the tip as part of the price. I then tried to ask how much it was for one hour. I asked 2-3 times. By this point, she was getting perturbed by my inquiry and was hastily motioning for me to leave. So I did. As for the massage, for 20+ minutes, it was good but not worth $60. Everything else IS TERRIBLE. I felted scammed and that I overpaid. The lack of communication (because the lady did not speak English), the price confusion and the lady getting getting annoyed by my inquiries added to the TERRIBLE experience. I'm also disappointed in myself that I let my immediate desire for a massage obscure all the warning signs. I should have walked away and found another place that spoke English so there are no misunderstandings (on price, service, etc).
Open sign was on outside during working hours, but had to ring a doorbell to access the inside. Made me wait outside for 5 minutes in the cold and once inside, staff did not greet me and looked as if they weren’t ready to have customers. I explained what I wanted to do today and the owner gave me blank looks, and did not try to understand the situation. The conversation ended when the owner brushed me off and claimed to be “busy,” pulls the curtains, and escorts me out without reason. Would not recommend this place, unfriendly staff and environment. I would rate it 0 stars if possible. Don’t put up the open sign if you’re not ready to receive customers or welcome them politely.
Location is great. I could have gotten there by the light rail that has a stop nearby. Nice masseuse met me at the door when I arrived as a walk in. They were able to lead me to a room right away. The massage worked out some kinks in my neck. I would repeat
Good communication! Texting their line works as well. They do not speak English very well but they will take good care of you.
