I shop here a lot and normally do not have much to complain about. Today I went in to grab something quickly for a dinner recipe that I was in the middle of making. I tried to buy a bottle of kalamata olives. The label on the shelf said that the olives were $4.49. The cash register rang up for $8.99, twice as much as what the shelf said. I brought the price discrepancy up to the cashier. She asked me to verify, which I did even though a store employee should have been the one to do. I verified and came back, she told the manager. The manager could not have checked at all or he would have noticed that all of their labels were completely screwed up. He dismissively says "whatever it says is whatever it is." Then to make matters worse, the register that I was at malfunctioned so I was moved to the next register to cash out. Thinking I had already left, manager came back to chide the cashier about not handling the situation correctly. The problem wasn't with the cashier, it was with the stores computers and product labels. If he had taken a few seconds to actually look at the issue, he would've realized that it wasn't me or the cashier who was wrong. This is one of my local stores so I spend a lot of money in here. I go out of my way to support the local stores even though they are more expensive than Amazon or Whole Foods. Although they were trying to charge me double for the olives than they actually should have, the real issue is that they were so dismissive about the situation and me as their customer. This really should be a one star review, but I'm giving them an extra star because I've shopped there for so long.

I really like this Key Food but I'm beginning to wonder about the quality of their meats. I was very explicit--I asked the employee from the meat department if the ground beef was mixed with anything else? He responded -no..., and for the reiterated all our ground beef meat is 100% beef. Someone is lying, either the employees at Key Food are lying and blending the beef with other meats once it arrives from the manufacturer or whomever, or the company ( Steak House Elite) is lying. If the product is 100% beef , why would I end up with a pan full of grease? And I mean a lot of it. I am fully aware that the Key food brand of chopped meat is blended; in this case I don't buy it. blended with cat food and dog food these days. I'm like, dude .please. I haven't reached out to the main company yet as they're probably somewhere in the Midwest and could care -less about what's served in our communities. The product was manufactured in the Bronx. Key food need or it's subs really to reach out to the manufacturer??

How can I in good conscience during a global pandemic give these wonderful Essential Workers anything less than the highest rating!?! Why would I? Thanks so much staff at Key Foods. Other than being well stocked your staff has always been wonderful and kind. They've even gone out of their way several times for items at the back that I requested. ALL have been wonderful but Charmaine comes to mind. (Well hers is the only name I remember). I must admit that at the start of lockdown there was unfortunately a bit of price gouging. Yikes! So many businesses succumbed to this sad practice that it almost (ALMOST) felt like the norm. I've also noticed meat labelled incorrectly BUT, this was in the middle of the world going crazy so mistakes at the time was understood and excused by me. (Though I did tease them via pic haha). For all that you do, Key Foods I heart you. The End.

*Update* If you’re not white or are black / brown - Security will hover around the exit door at checkout. I’ve seen my white girlfriend shop on several occasions without the security guys helicoptering Prices are extremely high. You will save 20- 45% from shopping at Trader Joe’s or even Whole Foods. Avoid shopping here whenever possible Very expensive shop that will continue to raise prices as more & more “luxury buildings” are built in the 2 mile radius. If you’re non white “security” will station them self at the door to passively intimate you. Most likely a ploy against would be thieves but this is in fact detrimental to building good customer relationships. I only put up with it as I only like a block away, only here for 5 items or less. Just go to Trader Joe’s if you can. Prices are much cheaper overall and is more inviting

I came to this keyfood all the way from the other side because online it states they close at 11pm. I got there 10:45. I asked a man that was by the door if I could come in, I only need to buy one thing. He shook as head no. He let people out that still was making purchases. Let keep in mind it's freezing outside. Everyone came out 10:53, they ignore me when asked is there a reason they closed early. They did offer up an apology or anything. Just dismissive for no reason. I asked politely and wasn't loud. Therefore, I don't understand how businesses can treat s potential customer like that. Very unprofessional, rude and distasteful. I drove to the keyfood on Flatbush by sterling. They where open and close at 1 like it says online. I will never give this keyfood my money.

Terrible customer service! I had bag of grapes that had obvious mold on them and they refused to refund or exchange the product. The comment stating that this company cares about their customers is a falsehood, as they could careless. In fact, the owner told me that he did not care at all. I just moved in to the neighborhood and up until this point shopped here up to 3 times a week because it's all of a 6 minute walk for me. Food town Prospect is a 20 minute walk which I will gladly take before I spend another cent with a business who admittedly does not care about its customers or appreciate the money that customers spend to keep them in business in the first place. If I could give them a zero rating, I would.

Beware of "sale" items!! Prices CONSISTENTLY ring up higher at the register, or 'buy one get one free' is not actualized at the register. I suggest you read the fine print on "sale items" i.e. which flavors or net weights are excluded or included. They use confusing small print and often post the sign in front of the wrong item on the shelf making it easy to mix them up. If you calculate your budget as you shop for food like me; you will NOT enjoy shopping at this Clinton Hill location. Been shopping here for 4 years and now I'm done. Guess what? There's new grocery stores close by that have price stickers ON EACH ITEM where they don't do bait-n-switch on sale items.

I'm a community resident and a frequent shopper at this Keyfood on Sunday afternoons. Store is great and usually has my products. Customer Service however is horrible. Please bring your loyalty key card and present it immediately even if you're rushed because Fatima will use her card in lieu of your card. Thus she'll get the points and your family gets nothing. What a shame. Very disappointed. Called to advise Joe, the Manager, as well. How dare her get angry because I spoke up and asked for the correction.

I visited this location today - as I typically would go 3x weekly as I would near by. But today was the last straw. The lines have been growing longer lately. But the fact that you can no longer pay for hot food or buffet food at the designated cashier’s counter- is a no go for me. I’m not going to stand 20-30 mins on a line to pay for hot food which will turn cold by the time I pay for it. Staff better.. and appropriately especially during lunch times.

The selection of ice cream here is some of the best in the area. Halo Top and McConnell's are two of my favorites. They have an amazing salsa collection alongside a great many number of tortilla chip varieties. There's plenty of organic produce, however the avocados tend to be on the harder side. This place is pretty great value and would highly recommend it as your grocery store of choice if you live in the area. Please bring back more ground lamb.

  • Nikkone

Excellent prices at this location in comparison to the other grocery options in the area. They also have a wide array of selections, especially for produce and deli items. Their sales often net you items at a far cheaper rate than what you would normally find. I'd recommend this place for those of you around the area looking for day-to-day grocery and household necessities. Their simplicity and frugality makes them an appealing option to me.

My family and I have gone to this location for groceries for generations since before it’s changed it’s name from Met to the current Key Food. Their selection is wonderful and the employees are helpful. I’ve either found the item I saught after, found something great to buy also, or the employees were very helpful in assisting me look for something instead. A great range of prices and a peaceful place to shop.

One of the cashiers found my wallet I dropped on the floor and messaged me on facebook to give it back to me, which is so thoughtful and kind. I picked up the wallet later in the day and it had all my cash and credit cards! I was so relieved, and the employees were so kind to me about it. This store employs and is managed by some truly good-hearted people. I will only shop here from now on :)

Hands-down the best standard supermarket I've been to in NYC! (By standard, I mean Associated/Key/C-Town as opposed to Westside/Fairway/Whole Foods.) The produce selection is great and excellently priced. (Go for the fresh herbs.) The store is very well-stocked, although the store is a maze, albeit in a charming way. Good! Go!

  • Gabriele Gherbaz

The staff is super friendly and helpful and is ok as local grocery. The store needs a bit of upgrade and modernization. Sometimes some products are on top shelves that none can reach and it's always a bit chaotic. Other key foods are much better and I hope they invest some money in this one too.

  • Sarah Blonstein

This is an overall great store. They always have a great beer section, and produce is usually good. I like that they have lots of organics too. The cashiers are all nice with exception of one. One young one who gave me attitude cuz I disrupted her text messaging to ask for my receipt.

  • V Francis

So delighted that they had Mikeys Vegan Marinara Pockets. So delicious, this will be a regular item that I pick up there. I stretched the box into 4 servings since the Beyond Meat recipe had alot of flavor but I wanted to limit my sodium intake.

  • Nico Robinson

This has been my neighborhood grocery store for 10 years! It's changed a lot in the last decade, improving all the time! You can get all your favorite brands & a few you didn't know about. Lots of vegan options & the staff is super helpful!

  • Tarina Taratino

Horrible and on 12/27/i experienced the worst customer service. The cashier name Dala charged me for 9 items and i only purchased 6.then i went to another cashier named Angela who seemed to be African and had a very rude attitude. I aksed

  • chanette walker

I went in for cash back. I asked the cashier she said I must spend $10. Ok I walked off I said why do I have to spend $10 dollars to get my own money. After putting back my yellow apple. I walked over to the atm. I still here her talking

This is a medium sized grocery store located on Fulton Avenue a block from the Clinton Washington C train stop. They use every inch of this place and at times you can feel like you are stuck in a maze. They have 3 checkout registers.

  • Amber Randall

Key Foods is a local grocery store in Clinton Hill on Fulton. They're great because they stay open until 11 p.m. every day except for Sunday and they close at 10 p.m. on Sunday. The people who work in there are super kind

  • Wrightpath Technologies

As a brand new upgrade, they have optimized space from previous store. Resulting in extremely narrow isles and harder to get items on high shelves. The deli, vegetable and fruit areas are still of very good quality.

  • Michael Weisberg

Lots of variety in this place, the shelves are stacked high and there often isn't much extra space. Don't come here if you're claustrophobic. I like it because it has more stuff than other stores in the area though.

  • B schuler

Check your receipt carefully every time you shop here. I've been ripped off 80% of the time. Sale signs throughout the store are rarely programmed into the register. The discrepancy is never in the customer's favor.

  • Nick Seunarine

Located in the heart of Clinton Hill is Key Food. The store is amazing and has wide selection of products. The owners are amazing and good people. I recommend this store to anyone looking for good prices and deals.

  • Emily

Absolutely love the ladies you have on the checkout - every single one of them so sweet and friendly. Always make me smile even if I’m having a rough day. Give them a bonus this year - they deserve it.

  • Paulo Bud

Key Food is a great supermarket. This one has good variety and price, however some items are more expensive than they should be. It's clean, but it is not easy to find things as the aisles are smalls.

  • Rupert Eyles

Veg is bad, goes off very quickly. Soft peaches, moldy avocados. Rude, unempathetic owners who say they're "simply following the rules" rather than listening to customers. I would avoid at all costs.

  • R K

Convenient, well stocked, friendly, clean. But checkout is a problem—double scans, discounts not applied, etc. They’re trying to be fast when there are lines but you end up paying more for it.

  • Taylor Allen

New Name Urban Market By Keyfood. Old Food Still Being Sold By Gala Fresh. You Might Still Be Consuming Compare Foods Products Buyer Be Aware... Everything That Glitter Isn't Gold.

  • Hang Lin

If you're looking for a grocery store that provides good value and quality products, Key Food may not be the best option based on the following concerns.

  • Marcos Bullon

Super annoying staff- they should leave people alone when waiting to pay. Stop trying to direct people to cash registers - they can do thta themselves

  • O Diana

Recently renovated to have a wider, more open fresh produce section, very well organized, clean with good lighting.

  • Watra Sumukatu

Super Overpriced! Horrible quality of fruit and vegetables.

  • Heidi Liou

They got a makeover!
