Khardi (Marathi: खर्डी) is a town in Thane district, Maharashtra. It is also a station on the Mumbai Suburban Railway system on the Central line route between Kalyan and Kasara. A signboard. It reads 'Pinnacle'; 'Sector-L'; 'Our Town'; 'View of Mahuli Hills' It is 1000 ft above sea - level and is a major attraction and favoured destination for people in Mumbai with a hectic life, to spend some time with their family, rest, relax or just enjoy its natural beauty. Khardi offers Multistory Flat projects like Thapar Nagar, Our Town, Highland park, Ajmera group to name a few. Khardi is a flourishing township which has a national bank, hospital, post office, petrol pump, restaurants, a school, a police station, a Jain Temple, and a market. It takes nearly 1 Hr 30 Min for one to reach Khardi from Mumbai (CST) & about 45 Min. from Thane Railway Station. Khardi is located on National Highway No.3 one of the prominent 4 lane Highway which connects to nearly 18 Indian States. All the devotees bound for the holy shrine of Shirdi Sai Baba pass from Khardi further enhancing its importance. Khardi is part of Taluka: Shahapur, (District: Thane) which is surrounded by the Sahyadris and places like Mahuli and Aaja are popular spots for trekking. The Maharashtra Government has declared Shahapur a centre for Tourism. Shahapur had an average literacy rate of 87%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. Since Dist: Shahapur supplies almost all the drinking water to Mumbai, the government of Maharashtra has declared this town to be a No Chemical Zone; no one can start a chemical industry here. Many dwellers from Mumbai & surrounding towns have made Khardi their second home while few have migrated lock stock barrel to open, clear, pollution free & Panoramic environment of Khardi. Khardi is very easily accessible by Rail or Road. Surrounded by 3 beautiful sweet water lakes namely Bhatsa, Tansa and Vaitarna, who are the major source & suppliers of drinking water to Mumbai And Thane city. About 100 km away from hustle bustle of Mumbai (Colaba to Khardi approx. distance)... Khardi offers refuge particularly in the post monsoon months up to onset of summer (May–June). Three large fresh water bodies surrounding Khardi help keep temperatures down thus bringing much relief. (Approx. Distance from Thane City is about 60 km) Dahigaon is a village, near Khardi, on the Khardi to Vaitarana road, which is famous for lotus flowers and a lake with two temples of Gavdevi and Lord Shiva on its bank. This village is also famous for the Tansa reserved forest. Transport: To reach Khardi, you may take a Maharashtra State Transport bus bound for Kasara OR Nasik. If commuting by local train alight at Khardi Railway Station which is just one stop before Kasara on Mumbai(CST) to Kasara Route of Mumbai Suburban Railway popularly called Local Trains. You may reach Khardi by road from Mumbai/Thane, drive thru National Highway No.3 (NH3) which is a 4 lane motorable road on which driving is a pleasure specially after onset of Monsoon up to end of winters. Khardi is a railway station on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Thansit is the previous stop and Oombermali (Umbermali) is the next stop. All suburban services terminating at, and departing from Kasara, halt at this station.

Khardi is a Rail Station after Thansit in the South & before Umbermali in the North on Kasara Route. Platform 1 provides Train services for Kasara towards the North. Platform 2 provides Train services for CSMT towards the South. All Slow & Fast Trains operate on Platforms 1 & 2 in both directions.

There is no food or water outlet in the station platform premises nor it has any facility for washrooms. Sirf acha platform kar dene se kuch nahi hota... It should have basic facilities. There is local train every hr towards Mumbai or kasara side. No outstation train stops here.

Khardi Rly Station - very quite,relaxing and less crowded station.There are two platforms which are attached (P.F.1-Towards Kasara ; P.F.2 - Towards C.S.T).Best place for nature lovers ,as it is rich in scenic beauty.

Khardi is a normal crowded station of Central Railway. Khardi station should be improved and the station is not having good public transportation connectivity

Quite, peaceful, usually you will have to wait long for train here. Frequency very less. However less crowded. Rail fans would love to spend time here.

One of the lonely station on the route... natural surroundings at peak during monsoon... only Kasara local available for train journey...

My Hometown.. Ppl who stay here did not realise its value.. They should see whole khardi and areas around it atleast once.

Seats available for seating on platform. Relaxing , Less crowded station. Only Local train available.

Both plateforms Neat 1 & 2 are attached. Station premises is very Neat and clean.
