*I WAS ROBBED HERE.* The inside of the mall was safe and it had been our second time visiting the mall that week. We found great shopping deals and truly had a lovely time at Simply Asia. I was happy and I took photos and videos for to share but while we were waiting outside for the Bolt driver to arrive, I was targeted by an uber driver and a phone thief! I had NO IDEA they were driving by watching me as I was trying to contact the driver to find out where he was. The thief go out of the car and walked past me as if he was going inside the mall. Naturally, I paid no attention to it. Next thing I know, he comes up from behind me, snatches my phone from out of my hands, and runs and jumps into the uber driver’s car that was waiting for him!!! I’m 6 months pregnant and couldn’t run behind the car but my husband did and some of the local people threw rocks at the vehicle to get the to stop. It doesn’t end there. As I’m going crazy, yet trying to remain calm (because my babies’ health is a priority and I don’t want them to come early), this patrol car comes up as if he is trying to help and offers to help us chase them down. He completely ignores the areas that we tell him and takes us out too far. I told him that I didn’t feel safe with him because he wasn’t listening and to take us back to the mall. It turns out, he was working with them to help them get further away from us because we were actually close to catching them from where we were at the mall. So this is why I haven’t posted an updated reviews in 3.5 weeks and why I trust NO PLACE in this city…and this is my second time here! I was in Joburg in 2020 as a solo female traveler and by the grace of God, nothing happened to me. I only had positive experiences. But this mall??? HOW DO YIU NOT HAVE SECURITY HERE??? I gave 2 stars for the experience prior to everything just described. This was a very traumatic incident for me. Killarney should be ashamed.
Has always been a great shopping experience . I remember back in 1991, was the first time I went to see a movie , at the Nu Metro cinema. Over the yrs it has had make overs . I was across on that part of Johannesburg , 2nd Ave Houghton,. My p/port had expired , if you were born in SA, not a citizen thru naturalization . Certain banks in the major cities various across SA , offer the facility for getting the new card type ID , and a new/Passport renewal No queues , no frustration of having to use the Home Affairs!
Around 11:00, I was struggling to exit the parking because I am a learner driver. The guy in the orange vest would not help me, his reason was that when we drive cars we don't greet. I struggled for almost an hour without help and ended up being sworn at by other drivers because I was holding them up. Can we please get kinder people to work in our establishments and please talk to that man. He is at work but has a problem with doing his work. What's funny is that I greeted him before asking for help. Is he mad?
My friends and I went there for breakfast. The parking was free, yeah. As we got into the mall, the first place that caught our attention was Del Forno. We received a warm welcome, the food was amazing. The service we received from Spencer was outstanding. We will definitely go back. Thank you Spencer for such excellent service. Del Forno Killarney is blessed to have you.
A familiar place, I've been shopping here for years. It has a Library but it should open on Saturdays too!! A disturbing new occurrence is the surrounds, there have been parked cars with blaring music and gatherings, with not enough security personnel so it's unnerving. The Mall itself is fine enough though, I like it. …
Very clean mall, decorated for the holidays, we got there early and parking was a breeze!!! Would love to see more NON Halaal options for food!!!!!!!! Not cool that almost every restaurant we went to had the halaal sign plastered right upfront. That should be a choice not a forced option. ❤️
I went to the Ocean Basket here at Killarney Mall and got ignored by the staff except for a guy making sushi. I was walking for a table and they just brushed past me as if I wasn't there. The photo is of the second ignorant couple, especially the dog wife she just pushed past me.
The mall is beautiful bt it has few restaurants in it and also few shops. It is not that packed when ever I go there. Security is visible all the time. I can say it is safe. I suggest you google it first before you go there because it is a small mall.
Nice dainty mall with the basic stores... Halaal option good & Del Forno is always a winner, their new menu is up there...the honey chilli chicken strips is excellent...Oooh difficult writing this as you salivate & hunger kicks in
I just love it. Accessible and safe. Also has about everything one could want. Pick n Pay and Woolworths for quality food, beverages, appliances and clothing. Top class restaurants and pharmacies . Great and secure parking too.
Free parking on Sundays! There is a car wash in the mall which is convenient. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from and most are halaal. Woolies, pick n pay, dischem and sorbet all in one spot! Very convenient.
There's definitely something missing there's a disconnect with the Muslim and other communities. Mug&bean is still the spot to be with the overview of the highway. Besides that tru's worth. Everything else is a bit meh.
This mall offers great convenience and easy access from the surrounding areas. It has the usual shops and restaurants, and is generally not too crowded. The undercover parking now has Admyt as a ticketless option.
Sad to see, in it's hay day a very popular mall. Now a lot of empty shops. One positive note i picked up at least the toilets are nice and clean. Otherwise nothing to rave about anymore. …
Visited the Home Affairs office within STD Bank. Pleasurable experience, I wish they all could be this efficient, friendly and clean. Sad to think they should all be like this though.
Shopping was convenient, but the mall itself has a soulless atmosphere - a quiet desperation - reflecting the struggle retailers are experiencing in these difficult times.
Unpleasant as it was too hot, no aircon switched on or in working order. Did my passport at Standard Bank and left. Really wanted to do lunch in the mall but left instead.
Construction at this mall has been ongoing for a long time. It makes being here hard. Some passages and stairways are blocked off, making the mall difficult to navigate.
Cold, forbidding, battled to find coffee. So many shops closed down. Sad. Cinema remains good. Even Mugg and Bean has lost some of its pulse though the food is good
Has all the convenience you expect from a mall. Pnp, Woolworths, @home, Restaurants, and movies. Parking areas have sufficient spaces. Guards in all parking areas.
I have grown to love this place, within easy access to my workplace in Parktown as well as the highway. There some unique and intimate restaurants at the mall.
0-15 minutes free parking . Can't even walk to pick and pay buy a pie and a coke and get back to your vehicle in 15 minutes do be ready to Pay for your parking
Went for halaal chows at Ocean Basket and once at cafe del forno. Good and safe place with prayer facility for Muslims and the shops that are most needed.
Clicks is shocking. Its the same Evey time. While 11 souls wait to pay the tellers without a parent behave like 5 year old left alone with boxes of sweets
I find the mall to be very closed up and very cramped. It's like they forced to have as many shops as they could in a very small place
Great experience. Went to 2 different stores and staff in both were friendly, helpful. Smiled when we greeted. I enjoyed my time here
I had lunch at Mug & Bean with my brothers and it was great. We were served by a young man called Tinashe, his service was amazing.
Killarney Mall is well situated, there's quality goods and services. PNA ladies you the champion when it comes to service delivery.
Best service from the Home Affairs Department in the Standard Bank. Would definitely recommend then based on excellent efficiency.
Clean well spaced mall. Cinecenter movies, truworths, woolworths, rage, pna, ocean basket, del forno, most restaurants are halal.
Wait for the bonsai festival, Had some food down in one of the lovely cafes. It has all that you need for a small shopping mall
Quiet currently but still fairly convenient even if today the closed the medical parking this morning for some unknown reason.
The parking near the banks is very weirdly configured. The mall is very crowded and there's not enough security guards.
Great shopping experience all in one kind of mall with all banks available, coffee shops n pick n pay and other shops
Place had the best pizza I have eaten, and the service is great. They also had a movie to watch Parking seemed safe.
This is a lovely small mall. Perfect for doing your regular shopping and grabbing a bite in it's restaurants.
Myne & Mom's favorite shopping place for more than 20yrs . Extremely clean and tidy with accessible parking.
It was an okay experience. Indifferent from other malls. It is nicely located in an easily accessible area.
One of the best shopping experience, one snagnis the narrow parking bays especially on the ground floor...
Hare KRISHNA Awesome service received at Dischem in Killarney Mall Thank you so much ❤️ …
Still the best was great to be among normal people not sorry the orange free is a State of disaster
Lovely mall. Pity it so quiet. Needs to be advertised so more people can enjoy the centre.
Good selection of shops, Wish they could do something about the parking though …
Safe and the banks there are always open with no ques.. the mall also close late at night
Very nice shopping mall, prefer to go to mrp and picknpay neat vlean and friendly staff
Convenient little mall. Ample space to walk around without people bumping into you.
Eating here today was a nightmare. The mall is freezing cold. Very disappointing.
Convenient mall for grocery shopping and basic necessities Not over crowded
This mall has deteriorated over the years. Not my favourite place to shop.
a good size mall with almost all the eateries being Halal, good parking
Good. Great service at Pick n Pay by Basu and her able team,! Thank you
It's very peaceful but I don't like their parking space is too small.
I really enjoyed being there I'm definitely going back soon …
Lovely, mall, clean and neat, easy accessibility to many stores.
Got to experience the bonsai expo and got some beautiful plants.
Love this mall. Clean and easy to get around. Lovely shops too.
It's okay for a quick in an out. More suitable for old people.
It's very clean and the mall has everything you can think of
Nice chilled and things there are affordable and convenient
Lit upper class Mall with luxury shopping experience
