We visited Kopi cafe in Andersonville for brunch after a busy work weekend, I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! As a group with a few vegetarians and vegans, we always look for delicious alternative spots, and Kopi did not disappoint. The eclectic experience began right away, with the option for outdoor dining, as well as the tea room up front for people watching. Inside, the dining room is absolutely adorable, with a cozy atmosphere and plenty of pastry options to choose from. What I loved most about Kopi, though, was the attention to detail and support of local vendors. The handmade products on display throughout the cafe were not only cute, but also a testament to the community spirit that makes Andersonville such a great neighborhood. Overall, I highly recommend Kopi cafe for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan, or just looking for something new, you're sure to find something you love at this gem of a cafe.

The atmosphere is crazy nice and it's a great place to spend some time in. There's an area with low tables where you can sit on carpet if you're just there to study/read. The café menu is really great and tastes amazing (highly recommend the turmeric golden latte). Only downside is that they don't have Wi-Fi and their food menu is a little unfriendly if you're the kind of person that likes to watch their macros for a lot of protein. The dishes all taste great, it's just that the menu items are usually pretty carb-heavy. Beyond that, their veggie patties are freezer-bought so if you're looking for something unique and vegetarian, this isn't it. HOWEVER it all tastes really good :-)

A unique diner! It’s a new world once you enter the door. The sitting on the floor area in the front is such an cute idea, it also puts the people sitting there in the window somehow and I love that! Back of the diner is a full shop with handmade clothes, silver jewelry, scarves, imported souvenirs, incense, candles… I’m telling you it’s another world. I tried a cold brew coffee and a gluten free & vegan brownie they were both very quality. I will be coming back.

Love this place. So many things I want to praise I don’t know where to start. The espresso is fantastic and for the evening many creative drinks as well as good price in wine and fine beers. If you can’t find something that tickles your fancy on the food menu I would be shocked. I’ve been going for years and always great welcoming service as well as interesting varied clientele with whom I’ve had great conversations. Bonus outgrowth from the pandemic is the beautiful back yard space. I could go on but will leave it with, Kopi is an iconic Chicago institution! Oh and don’t forget the boutique in back, amazing!

Amazingly attentive service, funky vibe, great location, with a huge assortment of food and drink. The service here was so great - we got plenty of attention and were able to keep ordering additional drinks as time went on, allowing us to stick around for a decent amount of time, enjoying the scenery and the nice day out. I was surprised by the variety of food and drinks available. While my wife enjoyed the Carmelita drink and a late lunch with her friend, I just ordered a few different types of drinks and thoroughly enjoyed them all, including the Golden Espresso Latte, Lemon Ginger Kombucha, and Matcha Freeze.

Wonderful old neighborhood beatnik type place with amazing sandwiches, great desserts, and a beautiful back patio space. The front window is reserved for the folks brave and limber enough to sit on pillows on a raised floor! Great vibes, great food, great service... A must visit when you come to Andersonville!

I don’t think the short hipster guy with the glasses is there anymore because of the help wanted signs. We were greeted by a couple lovely gentlemen and seated in the patio. Food was amazing for the price point. The portions were just right. I do think they tweaked their menu portions. I always go for the carrot cake! I was introduced to this place because my love of carrot cake. It’s the best I’ve had in the city so far; 15 years and counting. I got the trout omelette, carrot cake, and Mexican latte.

Kopi Cafe and I go back to the early '00's when I first moved to Chi. Living down the way on Hollywood and Clark, Kopi was an indulgence, a sanctuary, a meeting-place...so much more than just a coffee house. Although on the pricey side for my artist's life, the ambiance, service and food kept me coming back. My go-to is the focaccia sandwich, combined with the teas, creates a tasty combination. The low tables, and cushions lends itself to the Travelers cafe motif, even if not a travelers budget. However, what makes up for that, are the delicious choice of sweets and savory dishes.

  • Margaret Larkin

I first went here in the very early days, and I'm glad it's still around. It's actually gotten better. There's a lot on the menu, and everything I've had so far has been good. They have the best soup; usually soup is salty and cheap-tasting, but their soup tastes natural and is served with delicious bread (I love bread). The atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly. I could become a regular if I keep going to the area (which is also worth the visit). They also have a lot of interesting items for sale from all over the world.

Ok. I always forget to rate Kopi. I've been coming here for YEARS. One of my favorite lunch, brunch, coffee places. Always a SOLID choice that will never let you down. It's a feel good place that fills your heart. Warm food and amazing coffee. Cute shop and great customer service. Everyone should come in and try it at least once. (You'll come back. I'm sure of it)

Love this place...what can I say. It's a beautiful, mellow cafe in the heart of Andersonville. My favorite drink is the Viennese cafe served with a warmed baguette with extra butter. The little store at the back, remains charming and always a delight when visiting. Such a great cafe...

First off, I've been coming here for years and it's so chill every time. Our waitress was super sweet, sorry can't remember her name but she was super tall. She recommended the breakfast pizza and it was spectacular. It was so thin, crispy and so yummy. Next time I'll try the chucho pizza. She also told us it was incredible and one of the best. Great Manhattan's if you're in the mood. Also, if u get a chance choose the floor seating, very cozy. They also have some great jewelry if you're in the mood to shop.

  • Ajimon Thomas

First timer here. It was super crowded on a Saturday evening, but the hostess was able to get us a table in like 10 mins. We checked out their small shop area while waiting. As far as food goes, we had the Mexican Latte and Carrot cake. It was so yum. Our server was very friendly as well. We did pay street parking outside.

One of my very favorite spots in Andersonville. First off - the menu is extensive and there are TONS of vegetarian/vegan options. The coffee menu is great too, with fun and innovative espresso drinks. It’s so cozy to sit inside, but personally I love their back patio. And the staff are always so warm and friendly. Great place for a cup of coffee and bite to eat!

If you're looking for a warm, relaxing environment, you'll love it here. I've yet to try their East Asian style elevated seating, but it looks tantalizing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, the worst thing you'll find is only middling. For any meal of the day you'll be more than satisfied.

This place is quite lovely for chatting with pals, reading a book, or writing a paper. Unfortunately, it does not have WiFi, but I didn’t really find that to be a big hindrance. I ordered the dirty chai and it was absolutely phenomenal. It’s quite an eclectic and welcoming atmosphere and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice spot to relax.

I haven’t had the food yet but the last two winters I’ve walked in a bunch to get a Mexican hot chocolate to ward off the cold and it’s been just as delicious every time! Everyone’s kind and it’s always busy inside and I like that they have their own postcards as well; Cute to send or as a keepsake!

Hands down my favorite lunch place in Andersonville! Huge variety of dietary options, wonderful sevice, and delicous food. Also, I just learned today that they have a back patio and it is an absolute delight to sit back here. Tables are generously spaced so you do not need to worry about crowding. Go visit!

This is a sacred space of connection between people, cultures, and faiths. I would call it a liminal temple of wandering spirits. Collections of holy symbols found and forged from a dozen different spiritual traditions fill the space. Clearly a lot of love and soul has been poured into this place. More
