My wife works local to this jewellers and has bought earrings and had various repairs carried out in the last 18 months. Having broken a link on her 9ct gold watch bracelet, she took it to be repaired in mid Jan 2016. She was advised that it would take 3 weeks and cost £35 and be ready on Feb 6th. Her name was taken but no repair receipt given as she is known to the jewellers. On the 9th Feb she went to collect the watch and was told it was on the managers desk (un-repaired) and that he was on holiday and wouldn't be back till Friday 12th Feb. The following Tuesday 16th Feb, my wife went to collect her watch and was advised the manager was unable to mend it and it would have to be sent away and would be repaired by the following Wednesday 24th Feb. My wife was very upset by this as she wanted to wear it for her birthday celebration at the weekend 21st Feb. On Wednesday 24th Feb she again went to collect the watch, waited 10 minutes while it was found. The female sales assistant returned with her watch in an envelope and took the watch out to show my wife. She was delighted to see it mended and the bracelet nice and clean. The assistant then asked my wife for £65 to which my wife said 'No I was quoted £35'. The assistant showed my wife the envelope which had my wife's name and £65 written on it. My wife repeated that this was not what she had been advised and the assistant went to speak to the manager. She returned and said that 'No £65 is the right price'. My wife, reluctantly, paid the money as she wanted her watch back having waited the 5 1/2 weeks instead of the 3 advised. She is very upset to have waited all that time and paid an additional £30 more than verbally quoted when she left her watch. At no time was she advised that the price had changed. This not the standard of service you should have to accept from an established local jewellers.

I visited Mark 3 – 4 times to refurbish my Dad’s Rolex watch and fix a chain. I am so pleased with all his help and the results! Mark really took the time to explain to me about the history of my watch and how it was made. He discouraged me from some refurbishments I asked for, explaining that they would devalue the watch, and, in the most cost effective way, has made it look absolutely brilliant. He even kept track of its time keeping for several weeks whilst waiting for parts free of charge. From the several times I visited L. Guess, it was clear that they provide this level of service for everyone. Mark was always in conversation with other customers who clearly new him well and were similarly very happy with his service, care for the things that are important to us and expertise. Cannot recommend highly enough and a very happy New Years. Thank you!

Amazing act of kindness from this wonderful jeweller. We were in desperate need of a plaque that was required for our mother’s burial the following day and having just landed in the UK as she passed away abroad and it being close to closing time panic had set in. We walked into this jewellers and even though they were already very busy they took the time to create a wonderful plaque for us. On our return an hour later to collect they refused to take any money for it - we will never forget this true act of kindness at the most difficult of times for us - thank you!

Brought my watch in late last year to get a bracelet link removed and only just realised yesterday that I needed to re-adjust the date (as it always runs on 31-day months). I just couldn’t unscrew the crown to set the date and brought it back back in today. A mere 30 seconds after walking through the door not only was the crown opened (first time ) but he kindly reset the date for me too. Will definetly be back!

I was charged double what I was quoted to change the battery in my Tag Heuer - on the basis it needed a pressure test too wg=hich they did without asking. Ended up costing me £65 for a bettery that lasted for less than 12 months. I would have been better off going to a chain like Timpsons where for the same price you get a lifetime battery guarantee.

What a treat that there are still retailers like this. Knowledgable, helpful and skillful. Such good advice re my 54 year old Omega watch and he fixed it in no time at all. Carefully explained the problem and showed me what he had done. Such a contrast to the usual rather snobbish approach at "upmarket" watch retailers. Highly decommended

Mark has always been a friendly face, everytime we go into Guess. He is always happy to help where it can been provided and always upfront with you if he can't, which is a nice change from other stores. There is always a variety of items to buy in the shop, especially the new sculptures, which we now have four. Definitely recommend

Have been a customer of Guess for more than twenty years. Still the same owner which is so lovely in this day and age. Have bought some quirky fabulous pieces and there is a really broad spectrum in the shop. Also great place to go if you need to find a gift as stock so diverse. We are lucky to have them on our high street.

Honest, Excellent Service! My partners watch broke, I had taken to a watch repair shop and was told I needed a new bracelet for the watch costing £170.00 - Luckily I decided to take it to the lovely gentleman at L.Guess who repaired it overnight charging only £15.00. Would definitely recommend.

I took some jewellery in that belonged to my late parents for a price. They quoted me a scrap price of £1300. My sister’s friend took it to a business she has dealt with in the past and was quoted £2700. It just shows you, always shop around and never settle on the first quote offered.

Fantastic Watch Jeweller that also offers repairs services. Had a watch that had a tricky battery replacement and required certain tools and was able to get issue resolved here. Really friendly customer service and a must place to visit if your searching for a pre-owned luxury watch.

I popped in for a valuation of a high value watch for insurance purposes and was provided with the valuation very quickly indeed - and for a very reasonable price. Whilst I was there, I had a wander round the shop and was pleasantly surprised by the prices. Will definitely be back.

My family have used Guess for many years. They provide an excellent service. Today I went in to have a chain shortened. It took literally 2 seconds and he didn’t charge me for it. They also sell lovely jewellery and gifts as well as providing all sorts of repairs.

Have used this jewellers as my Nan used them for many years so having heard & seen 1st hand the quality of work & praise given I have taken my own pieces to be repaired etc & am extremely happy both with service price and quality of work done.

Great, honest and kind service. Truly outstanding, went to have my watch repaired but turned out with some honest advice we could get it working again and re-strapping was well priced. Lucky to have them in whitton and hope to be back soon.

Popped my watch in to L Guess on Saturday after it had been messed up by another watch repair company (who will remain nameless) the gentleman sorted it out in a matter of minutes and didnt charge me a penny! very impressed Thank you.
