I go to La Copa Cafe every Friday night to study because they're open later (till 9pm), they have an acoustic open mic night, a nice back patio, a selection of beer, wine, and coffee, and the owners are incredibly pleasent. Studying during open mic night is a much more pleasant way to study.

The clown who works here has the audacity to say to his customers "black coffee matters" as if it's fine to bastardize the name of a civil rights movement for his own mediocre, white-owned business. Having a sign that claims you're inclusive isn't enough when you're entirely tone deaf.

La Copa was my go-to coffee shop all during covid. If I couldn't eat in, I would stock up to take home. Sometimes Mason and Duckie were the only live humans I spoke to for days (not on the screen)! A lifeline to living, breathing humanity during lockdown.

My wife and I have been coming to La Copa for months. I recently returned to the U.S. after years abroad in Europe. La Copa is one of the few cafes that remind me of Europe. Great food, drinks (coffee and alcoholic) with live music and outdoor sitting.

Felt discriminated as being a non-white person. The owner -a white lady- made us leave the cafe when we were sitting n studying in the empty room at 11am on Sunday... the cafe was empty but her tone was like we were wasting her seats... rude person...

Finally - something different!! There are a lot of coffee shops in Seattle but our neighborhood was really in need of a place to grab a quick bite to eat - Donovan has solved this for all! He makes everything in house and from scratch. I

Met friends here for an afternoon bite. Had a mouth-watering pastrami sandwich and super-fresh mixed greens salad. I usually like a ton of black pepper on my salads but their's was so good, I didn't want to add any. The coffee and frozen

I had the rudest experience. You do not start yelling at your customers in no situation. I have gone their multiple weekends to study and order drinks part way through the session, I never walk away without buying something and the owner

Great neighborhood spot to sit and wait for your child to get out of class at the nearby Loyal Heights Elementary school. The sandwiches are well made and grilled. They have a small, well curated selection of beer, a decent collection of

I’m an avid coffee drinker and very picky. It says a lot that when I was looking for a house in the area and discovered this little gem of a place, it was one of my key pros in choosing the house I bought. Great food, friendly uplifting

I go this place at least twice a week it is amazing! The coffee there is so so good and their breakfast burritos are to die for (especially during a hangover). They recently added frosé to the menu which was super exciting. In addition,

Nice little funky neighborhood spot with sweet and savory food options. They serve True North (local) coffee. The back patio had plenty of seating and some coverage from sun and rain. The nitro cold brew was light and tasted a bit like

We still come here a lot but every time I get coffee here it’s too hot, I have a geofenced reminder to myself not to order coffee from here as over the years I’ve forgotten and been dissatisfied. Americano is a watery boiling water

I really enjoy this spot. The backyard area has a nice vibe. The food is rustic and I really enjoy the home made vibe of everything. They have a ton of selection for beverages, it’s not my favorite coffee but that could be personal

  • ka mcvolks

Nice coffee in a casual, welcoming vibe. We enjoyed some tasty breakfast pastries in their back patio/garden area. They also have a selection of sandwiches, pastries and a couple of beers on tap. Looking forward to returning! More

My favourite neighbourhood cafe. The savoury pastries are the best and made in house! Free music on Fridays and Saturdays and excellent wine selection. Cozy ambience and the owner's are amazing. What more could you ask for?

  • Meghan Michels

What a great cafe! They have a large variety of freshly baked pastries, tasty sandwiches and breakfasty items. Always playing some mellow tunes and the staff are super friendly. I always get the broccoli quiche. Yum!

First time visiting and was treated to a yummy pastry and latte. It was a) in a mug and not a paper cup b) not overly roasted. The cafe itself had a lovely atmosphere too - not too loud and great natural light.

I love this place. It's like a little European cafe. I love sitting outside and enjoying their delicious quiche and coffee, chatting with friends, and watching the morning in Ballard unfold. More

Awesome neighborhood cafe. Pastries, soups, sandwiches, gelato, and coffee! They are all amazing and delicious. They just extended their space too which means more sitting room! Check them out!

Remains one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Coffee and baked goods are great, and so are the soups and sandwiches. And I like chatting with the staff. Feels like a second home... More

Lovely spot that packs in a lot of options from espresso, to savory turnovers, pastries, cookies and freshly made quiches. Also a lil fridge with molly moons ice cream cups and more.

  • Kevin Timken

Great neighborhood coffee shop. The pastries are fantastic. Quiches are delicious. Sandwiches are daily. I even got a to die for Mac and cheese. Not sure if they have it all the time

great spot to get some work done. good food. service is generally good. don't go here much anymore though as it is now notably more expensive than other neighborhood spots. More

Easily the best danish I have ever had. Had 1 and went back to buy 4 more to share with roommates. Make sure you get some of the homemade caramels too. More

  • Emma Wiens

Very good pastry and coffee. They have savory foods too, so you can actually eat here for lunch which is not something other cafes are usually good at. More

  • Antennaria Boutelou

A classic Seattle coffee shop. Unpretentious, eclectic, and tasty. The service is wonderful, and you'll get to see all the neighborhood dogs stop by. More

  • Nick Falkowski-Sorensen

Great coffee and FANTASTIC savory pastries. Really great ambiance and cozy patio: the kind of cafe where the furniture is mismatched on purpose. More

  • Constanza Malfanti

Been there 3 times 1st: there was a dead mouse over one of the tables outside in the back. 2nd: just sat with my coffee at the sidewalk.

I stop by this cozy place at least twice a week! The staff is very helpful and friendly and their coffee is consistent and really good.

The most awful cafe I visited in Ballard. Not clean at all. The stuff is so unfriendly. Please go to any other cafe nearby.

  • Reecha

Coffee is good. I also saw a good selection of baked goods. If you like them with a side of ice cream they sell Molly moons

  • Ashley DeCorçey

I practically live here when I'm up in Loyal Heights. I eat, drink and hang out inside and out, on outdoor seating.

  • Jonathan Bush

Chill staff, great beer selection, good coffee and amazing sandwiches. Really nice space to spend time with friends.

  • Karsten Aichholz

Good coffee and excellent pastries made in house. Locals favor the breakfast burrito, which is delicious :)
