I go to La Copa Cafe every Friday night to study because they're open later (till 9pm), they have an acoustic open mic night, a nice back patio, a selection of beer, wine, and coffee, and the owners are incredibly pleasent. Studying during open mic night is a much more pleasant way to study.

The clown who works here has the audacity to say to his customers "black coffee matters" as if it's fine to bastardize the name of a civil rights movement for his own mediocre, white-owned business. Having a sign that claims you're inclusive isn't enough when you're entirely tone deaf.

La Copa was my go-to coffee shop all during covid. If I couldn't eat in, I would stock up to take home. Sometimes Mason and Duckie were the only live humans I spoke to for days (not on the screen)! A lifeline to living, breathing humanity during lockdown.
