We decided to give this bakery a try and get our 10th anniversary cake from them. We placed an order online, ahead of the required time, and despite having the receipts and confirmation in hand, we came in to find that the order was not prepared nor even in their system. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes while they scrambled to get something last minute prepared for us. We had placed an order for an 8 inch cheesecake as the picture showed it topped with chocolate and plenty of fruits (see their website), which not many other places had. What we ended up getting was a FROZEN cake that was nothing short of disappointing. By the time it defrosted, even the sign had sunken in. And for over $30 to top it off! If we had known this was the quality and service we were going to receive, we would have been better off just going to a grocery store. This was for our TENTH anniversary, an occasion which we had looked forward to for some time but this beyond disrespectful experience was a major hamper. What's worse is that the staff lacked genuine care (clearly this isn't the first time this has happened) and were not helpful- there was no offer for a refund or other options, we were simply told to 'file a complaint'. Be forewarned, if you place an order online here, call and double check since they obviously are incapable of doing their work properly. NEVER AGAIN. Side Note: Their garlic bread was good though.

I would often visit this bakery multiple times a week on my way back from work - but that stops today. Had the most unfortunate displeasure of dealing with a rude employee. Once in awhile, I would see day-old pizzas in the back fridge for sale that I had multiple times been able to purchase on a discount. Today, I wanted to buy some but a slender girl, with glasses, fair light hair tied in a bun tried to charge me full price. I told her that in the past, I could get them at a discount and if I had to pay full price, I would buy a fresh one at the front, instead. She said they never did that and insinuated that I was a liar. This is 100% not true because my brother would also buy day old's at a discount as well. Not sure if she is new since I seen their postings looking for new employee. I've been visiting since I was a child and often overlook how expensive things are here and buy their goods but this interaction made me realize I don't need their business. I am not coming back. If the owners care about their clients, they would do something about this and reply here. If there is no response, this should be a clear message on how little they care to everyone here. Interaction occurred on Thursday December 29, 2022 just before 6pm EST.

Best experience I’ve ever had not only ordering a cake (last minute at that!) but also the best looking and tasting Birthday cake I’ve ever ordered! I had ordered a Birthday cake with an edible image from a different bakery and at the last minute I was told that they weren’t able to fulfil my order ! Desperate and terrified I called La Novita Bakery and I was immediately reassured (amazing customer service and phone etiquette) that they would not only be able to make my Daughters cake with her picture on it but it would also be ready for the day of her party (I called on a Friday or Saturday and needed the cake for Sunday morning !) Sharon is amazing at what she does and she was so kind and patient with me. I am so grateful to her and the whole team and I can’t wait to order all my Cakes for EVERY occasion from La Novita Bakery from now on ! Side note; The cake not only looked too beautiful to eat— it tasted so good that we couldn’t stop eating it ! Parents asked where we got the cake from and commented on how good it tasted so I was sure to give them all the details, La Novita Bakery Baby !

This place is the BEST! I’ve been ordering cakes from them for ten years now and not once have I been disappointed. The owners are very accommodating to my sometimes complex cake requests. They even make suggestions to make the cake look even better. The taste of the cake is always just as good if not better than it looks. Always fresh. I get told by people at my parties that it is the best cake that they’ve ever tried. They are definitely masters at the art of cake making. Their Portuguese buns are the best by far of any other bakery that I’ve been too. I usually eat two before I even get home. They are always fresh and most of the time still warm. Also, their Portuguese custards are worthy of mention. They are the best tarts I’ve ever eaten. So creamy and the pastry is light and flakey. If your able to get them while they are still warm I guarantee you will not be able to stop at one. They are amazing. This bakery is definitely an A+!!!!!!

Not what it used to be…. Oh boy! the food quality gas really gone down, not sure if they have new bakers or something but besides the basics that any other bakery has, like bread/buns and fresh deli and pastries Nothing else there is worth a try, but by all means do try and form your own opinion. I bought pizza recently from there i literally had to throw half of it away it was soo greasy and soggy not even manageable. It was dripping puddles of grease everywhere, obviously way to much pepperoni and not baked long enough but like how hard is it to make pizza really!? Bottom line I’ve been going there for over 7 years and I’ve noticed “after Covid” the prices have gone way up and the good quality has gone way down. Not to mention I got sick once off of their “fresh daily” tuna sandwich. I just though I’d put this out there, do what you want with it. I still go In for overpriced baked goods it’s a 3 min walk from my place.

I wish I had the option to rate them 0 out of 5. I ordered a cake back in September 2022 via delivery. They failed to deliver on time and when I called to enquire I was told by a rude employee that a third party delivery person does the delivery and that La Novita bakery is not responsible. I forgave them and upon enquiring further to know the status of the delivery, the front desk employee started yelling over phone. I somehow got the cake delivered an hour late. The cake tasted average. I made the order 2 days before the scheduled date and then on the day of delivery, I struggled 2 hours tracking over endless calls just for an average cake.Overall a really bad experience. I decided to write this review today after eating an amazing 9$ birthday cake from Metro. That cake is worthier than this bakery's 50+$ cake. Save yourself time and money.

I would give them TEN STARS if it were possible.The baked goods are wonderful and the hot table is great BUT what was truly WONDERFUL was their customer service. I purchased an $80.00 item from them that was defective. When I went to return it, fully expecting a long discussion, Sharon (in charger of cash I believe) was completely understanding. She asked for details about the problem so she could report it to her vendor, and immediately gave me a complete refund. She was courteous, professional and a pleasure to deal with. I will be making an effort to shop there more often. In fact, since she was so easy to deal with, I bought a bunch of things there today that I normally wouldn't have.... PLEASE PEOPLE... SHOP AND SUPPORT THIS WONDERFUL place! I would give them TEN STARS if I could

Came here first time today to buy some pastries for my coworkers, it was a hell busy morning and kitchen couldnt get the first batch of cannoli by 8am (i was early), however i was attracted by croissants and fruity Danish. The young store lady was kind and sweet enough to recommend the almond croissant which i felt so happy that i took her suggestion. It was so delicious and fresh!! Not overly sweetened and good match with a small espresso! definitely will visit this bakery store again!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this bakery for all of your cake needs. My family has been coming to this bakery for over 10 years and the cakes have never disappointed - even if there was something we didn't like the team would fix it or be flexible to our requests. We have ordered slab cakes, customer fondant cakes and most recently cupcakes with a baby cake. Sharon, Luis and the team did a FANTASTIC job...our guests were blown away and unlike other cupcakes that only look good, these tasted GREAT. Cake was moist and not extremely sweet (red velvet tends to be on the sweeter side). Cupcakes were packaged safely for transportation and everything was ready to go.

It was ok. Prices are good. The fresh baked buns were very soft and yet had that crispy bite 5/5 They have red velvet, caramel apple, pecan caramel cheesecake...that was a tad dry 3/5 The cherry Danish was good 4/5 I bought about 8 pieces, including donuts, scones, danish, Cheesecake I got my stuff in bags, having my Danish stick to it. Meanwhile the ladies beside me got their things in boxes. You gotta ask for the boxes or it's upto their discretion? Masks are mandatory, was a bit crowded. I must add, they have a section where they so sandwiches or burgers and a deli counter.

In all of Mississauga this is my favorite bakery people who work are nice and well groomed there is an area to sit and dine get a cup of coffee and a pastry or have a light bite to eat like a salad. They have day old at the front or pizza in the freezer which is very cheap and you can get 10 desserts for $20 as a deal. Everything is fresh and appetizing meats and cheeses the sandwiches are the best donuts don't even get me started ham and cheese I come by to get for breakfast and assortment of breads to drinks and ingredients to make a homemade pizza!

Love their mini desserts. 6 for $11.50 now; used to be cheaper when we first started coming here around 2 years ago ( times have changed for sure! Can’t blame them.) Not a lot of unique sweets/variety, and the ones they have are more expensive. We recently bought a birthday cake (October 2021) and it tasted like it had been frozen for a while and left in their display fridge to thaw. My suggestion for them is to start printing receipts for customers, so that all charges and tax amounts are clear. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for.

I ordered the tiramisu cupcakes off of their menu the first one was absolutely amazing however the inconsistency of the products quality was disappointing the second one was a completely different texture to say the least among a few other unpleasing qualities in taste I was considering trying different things on the menu in the future considering the pictures looked amazing of the products they had however after this unpleasing experience I don’t know that I will be looking to try anything else from the shop in the future

Super slow service. I was just standing there for 4 minutes before I was greeted. Order was taken really weirdly. The woman that did take my order had a weird attitude and actually mocked the way I spoke. The veal sandwich took so long to prepare and was very dry and underwhelming. The sauce was just a very simple and non flavorful tomato sauce. As a first time customer, this was an absolutely terrible and weird experience. Maybe don't mock your customers and just take their orders.

I have been going here for over 10 years. All of my experiences here have been pleasant. Yesterday I had a personal emergency and I asked Sophia if she could help me. She didn't have to but she did and went above and beyond. The other customers that were in the store were friendly, the buns are beyond fresh (still warm), their custard tarts are to die for and their veal sandwich is PHENOMINAL. Thank you so much for all of your help and amazing customer service. I will be back!

I discovered this place 3 days ago on my way home from work and I returned continuously all 3 of those days to pick up fresh baked goods. I brought home a variety of things for my family to try: loafs of bread, a baguette, jelly donuts, nutella croissants, almond croissants, plain croissants, cinnamon rolls and pineapple pound cake. We loved absolutely everything we tried. I will definitely be visiting this place regularly and I'm super excited to try more things!

Undoubtedly, one of my two favourite Portuguese bakeries in Mississauga. This bakery has been here for as long as I can remember, about 40 years or more. The baked goods are always great and the bakery is clean and nice. Natas and croquettas are my favourite but I always get some different types of bread here too. Their almond croissants are amazing, especially with an espresso :) It’s packed most of the time but moves pretty fast. The service is always excellent.

This bakery is a French patisserie paradise right in the heart of Mississauga. My personal favorites are their cheesecakes and fresh garlic bread. The mini pasties are bite sized value for money treats. Their cakes and pastries are reasonably priced with good portion sizes. This bakery has everything from fresh breads in their bakery section, cold cuts, pastries and cakes! Their coffee and fresh food section is unfortunately closed now due to covid.

First time at this bakery and it was awesome. I do frequent other bakeries but due the time they were closed. Well, let me tell you that they got a new client and I will spread the word. They have a great bread selection but their hotdog buns and the best I have ever eaten!!! Also they pastry was awesome. My wife and I loved what we bought... fully recommended! Put back a cake in the fridge after there was hair on it!!! Went to buy a cake, while at the cash register saw hair on it. Told them and they said unfortunately the cake I picked they don’t have anymore of. So I left without buying anything went to fabricland on my way back I thought ok I will buy another cake. Went in to find, They had removed the hair and put the cake back in the fridge for another customer to buy.

What a disappointment. I've been coming here for years on and off and the fact that the girl cutting up the ham, cheese, salami isn't wearing a hair net shows me they don't care if hair is in our food. The guy behind the register was super nice and polite and wearing a hair net.. umm mayb he should be the one to train the staff who don't. What a let down, so sad staff isn't how back in the day it was.

This place has been around since the stone age. It's a fixture of the neighborhood. People continue to frequent it because they have fantastic bread (go early it sells out fast). Their chiabata buns are to die for, so are their custard tarts. I plan on ordering a cake from there the next time I need one. There is also a deli and a small assortment of dried goods (pasta etc). It's a wonderful bakery.

They messed up my order too many times. For example, I would ask for cannoli and chocolate eclair, they would somehow give me chocolate puff and chocolate eclair instead. If it is the occasional mistake then I am not too bothered by it, but it happened too frequently. As some of the other reviewers have said, their quality have also gone downhill as well. It is no longer worth the visit anymore.

Best bakery in Mississauga hands down. It's such and extremely popular place and I definetly can tell why. They have a very friendly staff that's super helpful. They have delicious sandwiches and sweets. You can tell that everything is freshly baked. They are amazing at making and decorating custom cakes.They have so many options and it's definitely a place everyone should try out.

this is the BEST bakery. i use to work at the storage facility next door, i was here every morning to get my coffee and every day at lunch for a fresh sandwich and great company. absolutely the greatest owners and staff. they make you feel like a part of the family...even the man with the goat that one day. craving this place right now, wish i was still close

I live right by this bakery and it's so hard to not go in every time you pass it! The breads are intoxicating, pastries are phenomenal and the staff is very bubbly/upbeat. My favorite thing to buy here is their pizza dough, it always turns out better than when I try to make it at home! I will always come back to this location

Used to be so yum! However the quality has gone down and also there is a woman here with glasses and she’s a bit racist. There was a Caucasian woman she was helping and was so kind to her and then the Asian couple in front of me were getting so much attitude from her. Even when I went up to order she was being rude.

This is the best bakery in Mississauga. Prices are reasonable, their pasty is always fresh and delicious. Great variety of cheesecake flavors. I ordered custom cake here, and was happily surprised with friendly customer service, amazing price and BEAUTIFUL cake. Definitely recommend it to all cheesecake lovers!

Place is gone down the drain. Their baked goods are now stale and old.(example got cheesecake and when went home to eat it you could taste how old and stale it was) Overcharging for everything I used to be their customer going there every weekend I'm never going back to this place. Very rude and very slow.

I Loveeeee this bakery. I buy all my cakes there and my turkey slices for my kids lunch. They have the nest dessert ..ranging from tarts, donuts, mini cheese cakes and cupcakes. The staff is lovely and the Cake is sooo tasty. My fave is the Strawberry Short Cake. I love it. Give them a visit. Lovely place.

Fantastic bakery. I live over 2 hours away but anytime I'm even remotely close I have to stop for their chocolate croissants. They also make some of the best deli sandwiches too. Just pick whatever kind of bun you prefer and bring to deli counter and pick anykind of meat, cheese and sauce you want.

I ordered a birthday cake for my husband from La Novita Bakery (chocolate flavour), and it was outstanding! Fresh, quality ingredients, not overly sweet, ready on time and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend! Can't wait to try some of their other cakes and sweets.

By far the best sweet bread in all of Mississauga! The prices are excellent for the quality and quantity of food you get! Their Delhi counter is exquisite and same with the sandwiches! Always fresh food, will certainly continue coming back here!

Love love love their steak sandwiches. You choose your own fresh bun and they grill everything in front of you. A few favourites of mine are the Portuguese tarts and these spicy shrimp perogie type things. Very good prices and always tasty.

Fresh toast bread , Pao de Avo fast service and a cold bottle of Brio.Mamma Mia that's Italian!...but I think the owner is Portuguese. Watch out for the Christmas rush they're running out of bread.Still a gem on John St.Good coffee too.

We got our daughter’s birthday cake done from here, it was simply delicious! Every single guest had asked us where we got the cake from. Reasonably priced and very fresh. The cream was fresh and cake was very light. Highly recommend!

We got the marble cake and cherry pound cake from here. Both were delicious and tasted fresh. We especially loved the cherry pound cake. Prices are very reasonable. Ambience to dine in is not great. Overall, good place for tea cakes.

I like this place. The breads and baked treats are fresh and delicious, staff are friendly, prices are affordable, flexible opening hours, and the deli is very well stocked, its pretty much the only bakery I go to.

I always get my freshly baked bread and pastries from here. Only negative is that i sometimes find that the staff are coughing around the food without their mask on. Management needs to look into that.
