Located inside the London Zoo in Regents Park, Land of the Lions is an interactive experience. It takes right into Gujarat without even leaving London using incredible decoration, including an auto rickshaw, a fake ‘bicycle hire’, a sign which says ‘ Welcome to Gir National Park’, a temple and even a working Indian street food restaurant that serves interesting dishes including Paneer Burgers! Animals include dwarf mongooses in an outdoor exhibit and an indoor house designed like an office, flamingos living in a large lake,Indian peafowl living with Rupppell’s griffin vultures in a large aviary, Hanuman langurs living in a ‘construction site’ ( though it would have been nicer if they had a larger enclosure) and, of course, their four beautiful Asiatic lions living in a large enclosure with multiple viewing areas and heated rocks. It would have been nice if they had a house, but i guess the heated rocks kind of made up for it. No visit to the Zoo is complete without visiting Land of the Lions. Highly recommended!
A night at the lion lodge... best sleepover ever. Noisy though they are, the lion noises aren’t disturbing so much as soothing! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Even Bhanu was welcoming in his own way! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone of any age.
I'll be honest- seeing the male lion here pacing up and down put me off zoos for life. I won't take my daughters to one- better to save up and see these magnificent creatures in the wild.
