Perfect spot to come for so many things honestly just depends what your in the mood for. Walking, jogging, cycling, roller skating, riding your scooter , meeting some new people. Swimming, taking a nap even in a hammock which actually looked kinda nice. Great places for shade and sun. They have some classes down here at liberty park for the public to join. And also a great spot for kids to hang out and pace and the liberty park playground. THE LIST GOES ON. A great spot for dogs to come and play and run around or just hang out with there owners. A great spot to come and have a picnic on the grass or down by the pond whole you get greeted by ducks , geese and seagulls , which we also have a good time giving snacks to and they definitely enjoyed our pretzels and sandwich bread. The pond down there has a nice walk over bridge and theres alot of birds down there all kinds to see. Again a great place to spend time. And it's close to the Tracy Aviary which is where we were headed.
Liberty Park is SLC, UT Primary public Park. It encompasses 8 full blocks worth of space from 700 E. & 7th So. To 700 E. & 1700 So. Liberty Park is a Mecca for Local City-Wide activities ranging from fireworks to other activities funded by the City. It has an extensive playground on the north side for the kids, basketball, a very large sidewalk surrounding the whole area good for walkers, roller skating, biking, etc. There is a swimming/recreation center as well as an Aviary on the west side of the park. On the South East side(which is considered by many the primary portion of the Park), has a Large Pond Full of ducks, birds, and wildlife. A very large Hill perfect for enjoying the environment. There is a weekend's only amusement area as well. Sunday afternoons there is always a Drum circle ⭕ for spiritual and individual enjoyment. The Park has a very diverse and rich atmosphere full of different and friendly people.
Really popular place with the inner Salt Lake community. Nice running ♂️ ♀️ and walking trails, volleyball , basketball courts, and rollerblading. It's a perfect place to spend some time with all of your pets. remember your pets, leashes!!! Wonderful environment for meditation♂️ ♀️. Very relaxing places full of trees and beautiful ponds full of a variety of birds . Excellent place for a quick picnic or STAY all day. This is a big park, and local vendors display and sell a variety of wonderful art and handy things. Please support these local vendors. They are trying to come out and make ends meet. You will be impressed by some of the workmanship and talent. Watch out for the squirrels.
A beautiful park with a pond right in Salt Lake City! I've visited this park off and on during the last few years and it's definitely a memorable one. During the spring and summer, it's a lot warmer and there are quite a few things to do. Including riding a pedal boat on the water or getting a snack. It's also just nice to visit the grassy area and get some sun. You can also walk around the park on the walkway. They usually plant a lot of flowers too, which are nice to see. You could definitely spend a day here, or at least half a day when the weather's nice. The only downside is that we've been bothered a few times by some homeless folks, but usually if you keep your distance and visit during the day then you're totally fine.
The park is a little piece of heaven surrounded by nice neighborhood and community. Ive gone to the Drum Circle and Vendor stalls on Sundays. The Tracy Aviary is a great time located in the South West side of the park. In the north east corner there is an AA meeting that runs everyday at 2:15. There is a track for bicycles, roller skates, or just a walk or run around the park. Many places to hang a hammock or enjoy BBQ pits with a table. All around it is a safe and beautiful place to enjoy the weather and company of friends... Or make new friends while you are there.
Our favorite spot for walking & playing PokemonGo! The playground areas are fun for the kids in the warmer months. There is something for everyone here. Running, roller blading, hippy drum circles, summer splash pad, tables with built-in chess boards, volleyball area, gazebo/pond area, an out-of-service carnival, and even an aviary! The Tracy Aviary is all lit up for Christmas right now, looking beautiful! This is a local must-visit. Just use the bathroom before you get there. They are not well-maintained/cleaned, and in winter the Honey Buckets are often out of TP.
Very nice park near the downtown area of SLC. It is clean, and safe, except where the homeless hangout at the south end. It was in early October when we were there so the weather was nice. We entered on the north end and have a large class A and tow truck behind us and had no problem finding parking big enough for us to fit. The park was free to enter the day that we were there. Lot of people jogging and walking their dogs.
Playground
Every part of the park was nice.
Picnic area
Every part of the park was nice.
It’s a big park. The Tracy Aviary is located on the west side. Along with the pool & tennis courts. The volleyball courts are on the west side of the park. Sometimes they’re crowded, other times, empty. There does tend to be some police driving around, especially towards the close. A safe park overall with lots of places to take photographs. The middle of the park used to have rides. On Sunday afternoons there are some pretty intense drum circles. Overall, a nice destination in Salt Lake that the whole family can enjoy.
It's sad that you see the homeless camping out. But they are harmless. I've never seen them but anyone. But other than that it's a beautiful park with a huge pond with ducks and Canadian geese. And they have little rides and the bird sanctuary. So it's a great park.
Restrooms
Restrooms can get gross at times.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs everywhere just make sure to have them on a leash if they aren't friendly or don't listen.
Picnic area
BBQ pits already on site
Really love this park. Grew up going here... will say however that as a kid I could have wandered all over safely and its not the same anymore. Wish it was still family friendly.. and most days it is.. except Sundays. Anyone who goes on Sunday knows what I mean by not wanting to bring your kiddos around. ✌️ Overall a beautiful park! Lots of nostalgia for me. Hippies peeps need to check out drum on Sunday too if you're looking for a community to join.
The park itself is great. It’s an awesome asset to the city and surrounding areas. It’s got tennis courts, a pond, an aviary, volleyball courts several different biking / running / walking / skating loops including grass, dirt and cement and much more... There are plenty of public bathrooms available. There’s electric car charging. Markets on some days. It’s usually pretty clean and safe. It’s always interesting. So glad it’s here!
Poor Old Park, Grew up in this area used to be such a lush green park, still have some green but more of a dry green. Dogs can be in the park, they need to be leashed. Nothing against this group of people the homeless have started to camp in this park. There are still some features here from the past. But has changed alot However aside from the changes in the years we still had a great time walking in the park
I was impressed by this well maintained city park. This is a massive park great for athletic people to go running, there are some tennis courts. There is a botanical garden too, an aviary with lots of plants and flowers. The pond is beautiful and nice to go on a walk by with family or your dog. I'd avoid the north side of the park where the homeless camp other than that the rest of the park is just beautiful.
An absolutely amazing central park. It has everything. If I was close to their I would make it my home away from home, but I am in Eagle Mountain. I love the traffic control here, barriers to prohibit a complete circle to curb drive arounds...the prohibition of left turns on the 1300 exit. A well thought out plan.
I love this park. Lots of diverse people and cool atmosphere. Lots of interesting attractions, and lots of tennis courts. It is near Downtown Salt Lake so do be mindful of the homeless, but they've never given me any problems. Maybe bring a fast food meal with you, I think they appreciate stuff like that.
There are 2 playgrounds next to each other. One is for smaller children. Encourages music with xylophones, metal drum, and large chime pipes to play, also a couple of playhouses. Sometimes a kid train that drives around the area for a small fee. Very family oriented. Lots of flower gardens to walk along.
It was a great experience going to the drum circle in Liberty Park! If you've not been you should definitely go, it's every Sunday pretty much from sunup to sundown. I'm not sure about in the winter though you should ask someone about that. A lot of vendors and some food booths as well, it's a good time!
Beautiful park with awesome trail running, bike trail, and pond. This park has a wide range of all walks of life. The events held here are often a success. The drum circle in the summer at 1:00pm is always an enjoyable experience for opem mided people.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs must be leashed.
Beautiful park with lots to do. There's a playground, rides, pool, tennis courts, and lots of areas to walk around. There a free small museum exhibit and a paid aviary. The aviary is well worth the $12, tons of birds on exhibit great for kids and adults.
Great place for events and park has a lot of facilities from the Aviation sanctuary to 2-3 parks scattered for kids to place on, bathrooms are okay but there in the center of the park. Only issue is parking sometimes is hard to come by.
It was great!! Lots of people walking there pets and they are friendly. The view of the lake is awesome and feeding the birds is a fun experience. They will eat the bread right out of your hands or catch it in the air. It's so cool!!!
I have been to Liberty Park several times, but this time, I noticed they have a toy train and a whole area with a ferris wheel, carousel, etc. My toddler and her friends had a blast riding the train and doing the rides !!!
Went and visited the Tracy Aviary and had just a wonderful time there. I'll be back there again as they have lots to see and do. Fun place for sure if you like to experience nature and wildlife settings. I had a blast. :^)
Wonderful park - good for walking, jogging, skating and biking. Pet friendly.

This on 900 s and 700 east in Salt Lake City near downtown towards the east side of town. Liberty Park has a ton of amenities enjoy!
Picnic area
Big with open fire pits.
Pretty park with a cool little museum, pond, and garden! Overall loved it, but way too many tweakers laying around.
Restrooms
Tweaker central. Use restrooms elsewhere.
Lovely little park with a paved and dirt / wood chips path around the perimeter, great place for a run. Don’t miss the long running drum circle, if you’re there on a Sunday!
Beautiful park with lots of parking. We went to India food festival. It was fun. You might see homeless tents here and there.
