Oh my goodness! I’m not a vegan, to be honest, but I care deeply about locally made foods and supporting small businesses. I’ve been following Little Jo Berry’s for over a year now on Instagram because my family is in Ottawa so I planned to visit when I was there next. Due to Covid those plans got pushed back a lot so when I got a job offer to do a gig nearby I jumped at it. It was too perfect when the store announced that they would be hosting a Venus Envy pop up the night before, I knew this was a place I needed to check out. We checked out the pop up and agreed we had to come back in the morning for treats. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL. If I didn’t know they were vegan there is absolutely no way you’d be able to tell. So insanely good! I recommend this bakery to anyone who is looking for something absolutely scrumptious to eat. Thanks for blowing my mind and opening it to some new vegan alternatives. Whatever the “cream” in the flakies is was mind boggling since I couldn’t tell the difference.

Very recently I had to change to a GF and Dairy Free diet and today was my first "dessert" within the criteria. I googled for GF and DF bakeries and this came up. I decided to try it on my lunch today. When I went in the friendly person at the cash was so nice to me and explained the different varieties they had. I kid you not, I tried the marshmellow chip cookie sandwich and it was the best thing ever. And it's huge. I wish I had more time to look at their lunch items and other goods because this is GAME CHANGER!! For someone who is making a drastic change to their diet for the first time ever, I could not have been happier with the entire experience and product. I will be returning!!! Thank you to the friendly cashier!! I also understand the masks being required for people who are immunocompromised - I think it's a very thoughtful gesture! It's only for a minute and they provide them.

Absolutely to die for! I'm not vegan, nor am i gluten free, but absolutely everything they make is friggin' delicious. They have so many options to accomodate so many different dietary restrictions and are super great about knowing exactly what is in everything if you have questions (I cant eat bananas, which are common in vegan baking, and they're always so kind in helping me narrow down what I can eat). Their "flakies" are to diiiiiie for. If there is an afterlife, those flakies will be served there. With a bib to capture all the deliciois flakes that fall off with a bite. This business also gives back to the community in so many fantastic ways, inclusing organizing markets that raise awareness for other small businesses, a podcast, and other awareness campaigns they make a visible and appreciated effort to ensure everyone feels as welcome as possible.

Jo Berry's is a tiny but vibrant spot for coffee snacks and small meals. They have a full vegan menu with creative alternative meats and dairies. The menu changes every week so it's hard to keep track of what's on, but the staples include varieties of desserts, a different main course, salad, and breakfast a every week! They have vegan pizza and foldovers as well as amazing cake. Jo sources local and sustainable so you know that everything you get here is guilt free (unless you get a pastry and are trying to lose weight ). Aside from the delicious pastries she supplies and the convenient and awesome coffee, Jo supports local Artists and hosts events where she pushes forward thinking in the community. Thanks for all your hard work Jo! I'm not here as often as I'd like to be, but I'm a fan through and through

Great vegan bakery in the Westboro area. They currently have a max capacity of 2 customers due to the COVID restrictions. The store is small but very clean. Also, the decor is simple yet tasteful. The service was good. The worker welcomed us and answered all the questions we had. I was really glad to see that they offered not only vegan options but gluten free ones as well. Their desserts are very creative and are aesthetically pleasing. We got a blueberry scone, peanut butter and strawberry Twinkie, double chocolate cookie sandwich, vanilla doughnut, whipped berry spritz and cherry spritz. All the desserts were delicious and the spritz were very tasty. We will definitely return again and try more of their options.

Awesome locally based frozen food, treats and eats. Very few tables but cute and good vibe atmosphere cause the space is on the small side but it still feels well distanced. Fresh food and frozen for take aways. Kinda like if M&M meatshops was a local queer vegan eatery with fresh eats and coffee with a couple tables to sit down at. They do a lot for the community. 10/10

Jo and the staff are the kindest and most generous people that always try to support the neighborhood by doing so many events to help people come together, please don’t be fool by those reviews saying that the staff yells at you etc I know a lot of fellows who are vulnerable/immunocompromised/in the lgbtq+ community find this little bakery as a safe place, and it’s the gem in Westboro. Their soft serve is the best!!!! I loveee their cake as well. I always suggest LJB for anyone looking for vegan options and have a sweet tooth like me!

  • Mermaid Therapeutic

Friendly service but food is terrible. What did I just pay 12 bucks for?? Pictures of sample food nicer than what I got, by far. A kale vegan soy/ egg breakfast sandwich - less than an inch -size of kale leaf , something like ketchup and mayo on a bun with some mushy, yellow ( real coloring???) soy based egg substitute. There is more bun here than anything else. And it had no taste. The latte tasted like brewed coffee with steamed milk. Not coming back. Desserts look pretty but overloaded with sugar and good color. Meh!!

I've been a huge fan of Little Jo Berry's since they opened and continue to recommend this spot to people on the regular! They're so creative and make such fun, tasty treats and savoury options with a menu that changes frequently- you'll never be bored and you'll always be able to get your favourites. I especially love how they focus on giving back and creating community through events, donations, and strong ethics around inclusivity and body positivity. Even if you're not vegan this is an amazing place to shop!

LJBs is the best! Whenever we visit, we always load up on goodies for the week. Today we had an amazing mac and cheese roll with their famous garlic dip. My daughter ordered a pumpkin spiced shake and I had an Iced Cap. They were so delicious. We also ordered the macaroni salad and potato salad. All vegan, fresh and full of flavor. Their baked goodies are always so amazing,it's impossible to choose which ones. Friendly staff! And I love how they are still enforcing the mask mandate.

  • Stephanie Meunier

Tasty and creative vegan treats, drinks and groceries! The grocery selection is full of local and more niche fantastic products like vegan gluten free freezer perogies (delicious!) and oat ice cream. The staff is the most welcoming and friendly and the management goes above and beyond to be a positive and kind part of the local business and 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Love to see their stand at local events and to attend their Vegans Who Snack events! Truly a local gem!

  • Linden T

LJB’s is thee place for delicious, savoury and sweet vegan treats and meals. I’ve never had anything from them that I didn't absolutely love (especiallyyyy that Chip Krispie ). Jo and their staff are all so kind and truly care about their community. And hey, if you don’t want to put on a mask (which they provide) to show a basic level of respect and common decency to Jo, their staff, and community, more treats for the rest of us ‍♀️.

  • Meagan OReilly

Tasty treats, kind + talented staff, and a focus on community care. What's not to love?? Popping by this safe and inclusive shop is always the highlight of my week! I also love how they have free masks by the door just in case you forget to bring your own. Thank you for caring about your community + staff by keeping a mask mandate even in the face of harassment, and thank you for making delicious treats and planning so many awesome events!!

Little Jo’s is a true gem in Wellington West. Jo and the team are always quick to greet customers with a friendly hello and are so lovely to interact with that they’re one of the things I look forward to when heading down for a sweet treat! The incredible baked goods, delicious coffee, and an amazing selection of vegan grocery items make the shop a staple in our house. Weekends aren’t complete without a stop at Little Jo Berry’s!

  • Kim D

An amazing place with wonderful staff and amazing food. I love seeing them at different spots such as the Arnprior cultural market so I can get a treat closer to home (the pop tart I had was fantastic). They also collaborate with some other fantastic restaurants and bring in their yummy food. They are a wonderful business and have built a great community of wonderful businesses. I’d give them more then 5 stars if I could.

  • Roxanne J

Went to the bakery a couple of time, always had great service. Had drinks, sandwiches, ice cream, baked treats from sweet to savory. If you're not sure what to get just ask the staff, they'll be happy to suggest something. Their blueberry scones are delicious . I'm also always happy to see them at events around the community, they are fun to chat with and again always bring the good stuff with them! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!

  • Jon Ben

So many delicious things to try here! Mini pizzas were my fav. Scones second. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Ottawa. I thought the smoked guda cheeze was good, not as rich and creamy as some others I've tried. Personally I like the denser version, but still enjoyed the Jo Berry's style with crackers. Casual place with mostly sweet treats and a few savory offerings. Coffee and espresso drinks as well.

  • Brittany Waring

I've been to Little Jo Berry's many times but wanted to add a review finally. I had the Mac and Cheese pizza with Jalapenos which was really great! A perfect combo of spicy and cheezy. Otherwise I love all their pastries! Highly recommend!

I'm honestly so grateful to have this amazing vegan LGBTQIA+ owned business in Ottawa!! They are so conscious of everyone and encourage their customers to feel safe and welcome (and continue protecting the vulnerable & immunocompromised population by requiring masking). I look forward all year to the "vegans who snack festival" that is run by LJB's. Thank you for caring about Ottawa's alt & vegan community!

  • H. Allin

My go-to place for vegan baked goods. Not only are their cakes out of this world, but LJB is a pillar of the community. They support their workers by paying them a living wage. They have not wavered in their support of disabled people since the start of the pandemic - they are one of the only businesses in Ottawa that still cares enough to require masks. It’s no wonder they are so well-loved.

  • Lia Walsh

One of the best vegan restaurants/bakeries in town! They serve a main course around lunch (we had "meatball" subs) and pastries throughout the day. Highly recommend the pop tarts, blueberry-lemon square and the macaroons. The café feel makes it really cute and the staff are also really great. Their faux mozzarella is famous, so check that out if there's still some left when you arrive!

  • Oak S.L

Truly the best vegan spot in town. On weekends they have delicious subs, and good meal options during the week too. We love their frozen meals to take home, there’s really great choices like pizza, dumplings, Mac n cheese, ice cream sandwiches, pints of their in house ice cream, the list goes on! If you’re vegan or just very into good food you’re gonna want to be all over this place.

  • Barry Bissoondatt

Great vegan pastries, confections, and treats; they even held up well the next day without being dried up or rock hard. I also took a wedge of the cheeze. The texture was great. It could have been a bit tangy-er and saltier for my taste but was still quite tasty. I don't actually know what sort of flavour they were going for, so it may be spot on. For a mild cheese, it's excellent.

  • Reilly Martell

Not only are they vegan - they have tons of gluten-free treats as well! Can't stress this enough, Little Jo Berry's makes THE BEST gluten-free donuts in Ottawa... like, I may have even gone to one or two local markets outside their usual shop hours specifically for the donuts they bring. An absolute must-try when you're in the mood for some sweet baked goodies or a tasty drink.

  • Yoshuna

Absolutely amazing place for vegans and non-vegans alike! Many dessert options and a few savoury food options too. Drink prices are typical of any cafe. Staff is extremely friendly, contributing to the already welcoming atmosphere. I always recommend this place to people visiting Ottawa. Only wish there was more seating available and that prices of the desserts were labeled!

  • Katy S

Vegan rice crispy square with chips - are you kidding me??? I feel understood here. Also nothing but love and respect for a local business and its sweet, kind-hearted employees taking a stand to create a safe and accessible place for people with disabilities by enforcing mask-wearing inside the shop + showing love for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community

  • Chelsey’s Place

Wifi: No Allergy Friendly: There we’re 3 gluten free options to choose from, but if you have a nut or soy allergy then you won’t find too much success here. Coffee and refreshments: Limited to choose from. Pros: beautful presentation Cons: Didn’t seem very sanitary, staff had limited knowledge on ingredients, and the price per donut was higher then expected.

  • Christie Cole

Got a huge piece of cake from here that was part of a fundraiser. It was probably too big for one sitting, but so good! Love this bakery and the food they do for the community. Love that they have lots of vegan choices and groceries. Contact them if you are looking for something specific- if they don’t have it, they will probably know where to find it.

  • Kaleena Kuhn

Would not recommend this place. Apparently their confused employees have more time to spend arguing about a piece of fabric then the amount of brain cells they have. Imagine having an entire crew of people quite literally not listening to science? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised given the “diversity” or should I say “inclusivity” of the crew.

  • Kayla Boisvert

I ordered from LJB's for a Pride month BBQ we were hosting at my office and I will definitely be ordering from them again! Their service was so friendly, they were super accommodating and the treats were delicious! I chose a mixture of vegan & gf desserts so all employees could be included and everyone is still raving about them. Thank you! ❤️

  • shelley taylor

I love this little vegan bakery and grocery store! A small but well-curated selection of groceries alongside tasty treats and drinks. Beyond the in-store offerings, LJBs organizes the Vegan's Who Snack Food and Art Festival which is a delicious and fun event! My favourite treats are the pop tarts and rocky road squares :)

  • Jessica Doyle

Love this vegan bakery! They have lots of delicious options for vegans (and some gluten free choices too), and they have some meals too. I love the mac n cheese options especially as a newer vegan since I find it hard to make at home. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is nice. 10/10 can't recommend enough!

  • Marlo Sleiman

Jo and their staff are kind, talented and respectful. Not only are the treats available lovely and fresh, the special order items are always a big hit. Jo is also a delight on social media, even if I bother them on a weekly basis to bring back pizza night (which, Jo if you are reading this, plz I need more pizza )

  • Claude Hall

We bought a vegan cake for our daughter’s birthday. We had to pick it up Sunday before closing to have it for the party and forgot. Ray from the shop called when we didn’t show up and told us he would stay a bit later if needed for us to pick it up. Outstanding customer service. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!

  • Sarah Berube

Love this place!! A delicious rotating menu of vegan pastries, seasonal drinks, and savoury options! I really appreciate the masking in store, it makes it so much more accessible for me as a vulnerable person. If you don't want to mask, you can find them at outdoor markets! GF pastries available too!

  • Sarah Johnson

The baked goods here are so tasty! I love that they are gluten free and vegan. We picked some up at Cafe Sucre and it has been very hard not to demolish the whole box in one sitting. Picture is only some of what we got because I couldn't help myself and ate before I snapped a pic (oops).

  • Corina Manasseri

  • Katy Muir-Dolson

Great place. Any snack or drink I’ve had has always been delicious. Staff is always friendly and respectful. The business clearly has their policies posted on the door - so if people do not agree they can simply go elsewhere and save the tasty treats for the rest of us ✌ …

  • Terri R

My husband and I recently attended a Halloween cake decorating class at LJB, it was lots of fun! The cake and provided drinks were soo delicious! I have loved the pastries i have gotten at LJB since moving to Ottawa 2 years ago. As a bonus the owner is very kind and helpful!

  • Jen Hanna

Incredible food and atmosphere. Love how they keep their staff and community safe with continued masking, I always feel safe going here. Their food is always off the chain and delicious and they have some great vegan products. Highly recommended this vegan staple!!

I love this bakery and I feel so comforted by the fact that they require masks. For immunocompromised people, there’s almost no where to go anymore where there is guaranteed masking and I appreciate the care for community by keeping the mandate. …

Ottawa wouldn’t be the same without LJB’s! Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and the loveliest people you’ll ever meet. They care as deeply about our community as they do the amazing treats they make and it really shows! An all time favourite!!

I want to give this place a 5 star really badly, but I only found the pesto brunch bun to be meh. It was very bland yet salty at the same time (I felt very thirsty afterwards, but the bun literally had no taste)? My friend got the

Love LJB! First discovered this spot back in 2018, ironically while working for their main competitor. I make a point to stop by their booth at 613flea, Arlington Market, etc. to pick up treats. Their donuts are my fave.

  • Kayla

Fantastic alternative desserts that will even get a carnivore hooked! Great quality, delicious, original and such a dream for people with intolerances. Some treats are on a sugary side but overall amazing. Support local!

  • Morgan Cauley-Le Fevre

One of my favourite bakeries in all of Ottawa. There’s not a lot of vegan options for baked goods in this city, and they might be the best of them. My wife and I have been coming here for years.

  • Emma Schuster

Such a cute little cafe, would definitely recommend! So many options for treats, coffee, and other vegan things. Staff was super friendly and sweet. Make sure to check out their Halloween stuff!

The kindest baristas we have ever met. These folks have done so much for the community, giving back to marginalized groups and providing a safe space for everyone. And cappuccinos. xo

  • Amalia Baikie

Amazing vegan pastries! Super nice staff! Also love their grocery section full of local vegan goodies. They’re a must-stop destination for me whenever I’m in Ottawa.

  • Krithiga

Way too overpriced for the mediocre baked goods. I tried 5 different items, not one justified the price. Everything was overly sweet and lacked any other flavor.

  • Cole Van Remortel

Little Jo Berry's is a great bakery. People complaining about basic store policies are cringe. They're a sole proprietorship, they're aloud to have rules.

  • Elspeth Urquhart

Such a yummy and delicious spot! The vibe is also so cute and cozy. They were always such great neighbours when I worked at the sushi spot next door
