Normally I divide my reviews into a "Good and Bad" section, but this won't be the case and you'll see why. With that being said, I'll be reviewing: *Arrival/Departure Boards - There are a number of large arrival and departure boards spread out throughout the station. They're all fully functioning and easy to read, which is a great plus and stops everyone from having to congregate in the same area - which can be a nuisance during peak hours. Thankfully that isn't the case here and this station stands as an example of how to do it right. *Size - This station is pretty big - which is expected, as it is the main train station in Liverpool. The platforms are also well spread out throughout the station from one end to another, which is really good for preventing mass crowding. *Hygiene - In all the different times I've been to this station, it's ALWAYS been consistently clean. Same thing for the gents toilets as well. This is pretty outstanding and deserves praising because I know from experience that not all stations are like this, so it's something worth noting as a great positive when you do see a station always clean like this. *Customer Service - The members of staff throughout the station are very friendly and seem genuinely interested in helping you out if you have something you need assistance with. This has been my experience throughout the times I've been at this station and when I've asked for help. All that's to say that  the customer service here is pretty good to say the least. *Services/Stores - There are quite a number of stores within the station ranging from your standard coffee shops, to Boots pharmaceutical stores. The station has just enough stores for its size and for those looking to eat or make quick last minute purchases before their journey. I'm pleased with whats on offer and have no complaints to be honest. *Seating Areas - There's a lot a of seating areas throughout the station. While this is good,  it's worth mentioning that most of the seating areas within the station can sometimes be rendered useless during cold winter days as the station features an open air structure. This means that's this station is ESPECIALLY cold during winter, and the steel/iron seats they have for the seating areas feel even colder and less inviting for those looking to have a seat during winter. This of course isn't a problem during summer, but the current workaround for this problem involves having to seat inside some of the coffee shop around - if there's room. The lounge area available is alright, although it's not the most sizable considering how big the station is. This is by no means a deal breaker, but something that can be improved on. *Summary* Overall, this train station is one my favourite stations. It open-air structure makes it easy on the eyes as well as user-friendly. I like how it's always clean and how helpful the members of staff are, so I hope it's easy for you to see how this station has so many favourable reviews including my own.

i’m just writing this review as i’ve had many bad experiences with the ticket office workers and even some of the staff around the station, Deborah in the ticket office is nothing but rude, she started off with a ‘don’t know what you want me to do about it’ to a ‘find someone else if i’m not pleasing you’ i have come across with rude people whilst i have been working but i’ve never seen anything like it, 7 young vulnerable children alone and scared because they have no way of getting home as three trains where cancelled and the next one weren’t till 10:30 … they asked politely for them to change the train ticket into a bus ticket as a few of them had no money and a curfew which is understandable as school is tomorrow and it’s a scary place at night, i’m 40 and still get goosebumps walking round there at night, Deborah snarled and said i don’t know what you want me to do and then continued it with a snarl to her co worker. however, after this diabolical behaviour from a middle aged woman, 2 travel safe officers helped and offered to pay for a taxi for them they then said that there is a replacement bus which my daughter did ask as it is likely they do if there is so many cancelled at once, they then directed them to the bus stop and they got home safely and on time, i also want to put a well done and massive thank you to aish (sorry if spelt wrong) he made sure they got home safe and even went the extra mile to drop them off closer to home, remember that there is always a few nice people out there they aren’t always deborah’s.

SHAGIRA says once you've pinned and stitched your glad rags and left all your money behind. You'll see a rainbow and you'll have your money. All your money money. The most inspiring destination with a delightful crowd of the most positive people in the United Kingdom. As the say let it rain purple rain. let it love. no matter what the feeling of love is. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away." When at first you dont succeed. Reshoot for the moon.

This was a fantastic station to both depart and arrive at, with a large area that is backed by a grand roof! The platforms were appropriately sized for both my trains and navigating around is easy, through various signs all over and the underground metro is easily accessible via an escalator. Information is shown throughout for the line and there is a separate office to buy the tickets, appropriately underground like the smooth line! The platforms are appropriately sized, staff were helpful and departure times are up-to-date. They were in the main station too, where many departure boards appear and cleanliness had been maintained!

Liverpool Lime Street train station is one of four stations in Liverpool city centre, Liverpool Central, Liverpool James Street, and Liverpool Moorfields. Network Rail, Avanti rail and Merseyrail all feeds into Liverpool Lime Street. It is a very busy train station, there are stairs, escalators and lifts leading into and out of the underground station area. So thankful for the lift it is easily accessible to wheelchairs and passengers with heavy luggage. It has a clean toilet facility, and a sitting area right opposite the shops where you can get refreshments. Thankfully my train is on time today. Off I go‍♂️

I have had a really excellent experience in Liverpool. From the EMR train service to the hotel I stayed in. However I checked out as per hotel policy at 11am. My train back to is at 1451. I went to store my 1 hold-all at the station. I was prepared to pay the price of £7 for the time I wanted my hold-all to be stored so I want carrying it about with me. The staff in the office was extremely unhelpful, rude and really gave the impression of really not bothered. They looked very unkempt and to be honest I would not like to pay to leave my hold-all there . Really put a negative energy into my stay.

Lime Street station has direct intercity routes to Birmingham, London, Manchester city centre and airport, Norwich, Preston and many more destinations. Lime Street underground has trains to New Brighton, West Kirby, Ellesmere Port and Chester. There is a First Class waiting room for Virgin passengers. Numerous tickets machines are available by platform 7. Station facilities include food outlets, bars and shops. Toilets including accessible are at the Lord Nelson Street end of the station. ATM machines are part way along platform 7. Taxis wait at both ends of the station concourse.

Great Service! Arrived at Lime Street today as I have done many times over the past decades. Had to collect tickets, usually my admin staff procured the tickets prior, and before entering the queue a customer service staff member - Jan - guided me to a self serve machine. She ran through the process and helped with the Reference code to produce the tickets. She could have easily pointed me to the machines and left me, I am quite capable but she went the extra. Well done Lime Street and Jan!! Thank you

  • Graham Pegler

Great train station with lots of trains and platforms also excellent facilities for food and drink and even reading material if one fancies a paperback for the journey or a copy of a daily journal ( excluding The Sun of course ) , all tastes are looked after and there is always a cheeky , humorous scouse chappy ready with a witty quip ...always appreciated especially if one is gearing up for a journey to the Southern reaches of the UK And its infamous lack of humour

  • K3G Delta

Perfectly located, right in the centre of Liverpool. Shopping area is less than a 5 minute walk. M&S Bank Arena & Albert Dock is a 15-20 minute walk (10 minutes by car/taxi). Plenty of places to grab food and drinks. Has clean and free toilets/washroom facilities. Clear displays of train times and layout of platforms means that connecting for onward journey is very easy. A covered taxi rank is adjacent to platforms which is a huge plus during inclement weather.

One day I ask the guy what is off peak means he says I can go and come back anytime But then on the day when I wanted to go there was a different guy and that says I can’t go before 9:00 which is right but previous guy was wrong he gave me the wrong Although I was concerned before I bought the ticket so asked the twice to make sure I’m buying the right ticket But unfortunately it turns out it was wrong ticket

  • Paul Brocklehurst

Clean and easy to navigate train station in the city centre. There is free Wi-Fi throughout and plenty of seating. There a few of the usual coffee shops like Starbucks and Costa, along with an M&S, Krispy Kreme, Upper Crust and WH Smith. It lacks options for hot food and meals but there are places near the station. All the platforms are in a straight line so that makes it easy to find your platform.

  • Lainie Fountain (Alaina)

Just had a lovely experience with a man in the ticket office who helped me change my 4-change journey into a direct with only a little extra £ on top of what I'd already paid. I had my 16 to 25 railcard as well which obviously helped but they were so friendly and I'll definitely be seeing if I can do this again if my journey is so chopped about, makes things a lot easier, so thank you!

  • Ewan Hoyle

Brilliant terminus station with a variety of services spanning the area and country. The convenience of being able to arrive on a Avanti West Coast service and then transition to a Merseyrail service in less than 5 minutes is incredible. Station is very well upkept with a large quantity of station staff, ticket machines and a ticket office with friendly staff to assist you.

  • Pearly mon

It's a good station, but the bathrooms are always naff. And every time you go in there, you will notice people walk out without washing their hands. It's disgusting. These are all problems with the people, and not the station, I suppose, but you're best going before you leave the house, because you won't want to use their facilities. This city's minging at times....

  • Glyn Chaplin

Very clean and easy to find out information regarding your train. Plenty of seating while waiting. Plenty of shops and places to get a drink including Boots, M&S food and a Smiths. It has a Spoons in the corner which I didn't visit. Large toilets with an accessible one not sure to what degree so check before you travel if you need a specific facility.

  • Meredith Small

Very happy with my first trip to Liverpool via the rail service! Lime Street Station was clean, with open spaces and lots of natural light... When we arrived for our return journey we used the toilets and were grateful to be able to fill our water bottles at the fountain installed for this purpose... I really hope I'll be passing through again soon!

  • Angie Harding

Im only giving this 1 star as we arrived at the station the train had been full so ques to get out of the gates my sister has needs and ticket would not open gates the guard at the time was rude he opened the gate and put a hand on our back and physically pushed us through. Ive used this station many times and never met anyone as rude

  • Mica100

Very attractive station, pleasant staff (apart from one), good commercial shops and easy for transport in and out of city. May I suggest they get a new member of staff in the information stand though. She was easily the most moody and curt member of staff there today (29 June, approx 10am) Thus only 3 stars rather than 4

  • ken ngai-foong

Not an extremely large train station like st pancras. Initially built in 1836 but expanded and mordenised now. The old facade was maintained and is now the station’s front. But convenient to move around to the city center and main bus station. Normal amenities like food n drink joints n restrooms are available.

  • Samuel Hills

Pretty much what I expect from a good train station in this country. Helpful staff, useful stuff like signs for knowing about arrivals and departures and some cool shops too. It's also clean, quite pretty and in a useful area for university students. I haven't experienced any issues with chavs or idiots either.

  • Camila Martins

The staff are very polite, friendly and helped me a lot. While there, a child was lost from his parents and the security guards calmed the child of about 3 years old, they talked to the child and then with the information they were able to find the mother. Great service and the trains are EXTREMELY punctual.

  • Leanne Sharkey

The Northern train was stopping at Liverpool Lime Street while calling at Warrington West, Widnes, Hough Green, Halewood, Hunts Cross, Liverpool South Parkway, West Allerton, Mossley Hill and the same station. On platform 7, I connected to my Wifi while the Northern train was stopping at Warrington Central.

  • L

Staff brought a wheelchair for my elderly nan so she could travel down the platform to wave me off on my journey, which she enjoys doing. My carriage was at the very front of the train and she’d never have made it all the way down there by herself. Really great customer service, she felt very looked after.

  • Valerie Baker

Comparetively small station, some food outlets and other stores. There are toilets, including disabled facilities. There is a First Class Lounge, there is some seating available, but not enough, for other passengers. Clean. We'll signposted. Taxi rank outside. Some hotels of varying quality are nearby.

  • Gail

Small amount of shops, absolutely lovely, friendly, helpful, chatty and engaging avanti staff on hand by the train to advise re tickets, check you on board and make sure you're heading in the right direction. Can't speak for other train services staff, but avantis young ladies today, were wonderful.

  • Tollets TalesAndTrails

Accessibility to Lime Street Station is as easy as pie. Location is very centralised within the city of Liverpool by foot or what ever mode of transport you use. It is a beautiful structure inside out with bright red imposing pillars a sure sign you have reached your destination of Liverpool.

  • Kathryn Hall

Very nice station to travel to and from. Easy to navigate around, with your run of the mill commercial outlets for food and drink. Only trouble I find is it can get a bit overcrowded on platforms. I like though the taxi rank is right next to platform 10 so you haven’t got to go very far.

  • Paul Lockhart

Main station in Liverpool for rest of UK. Use central station for North West trains. Lime Street 'underground' offers trains to Wirral, Chester and Ellesmere Port. Very recent new platforms built. Traditional architecture is impressive. Good wetherspoons at western exit/entrance.

  • Rachel Vaz

It is a pretty place to be. Visited during the Christmas season, there's a Christmas market infront of the station that has good food, you'll get great pictures and has a chill vibe. Great place to bring your kids, who have some fun rides in-store for them.

  • Matthew Harwood

A great station with plenty of facilities and routes reaching the vast majority of the country. The station is clean and there is a really useful car pick up and taxi tank that makes it easy to order an Uber or get a lift to the station without any hassle.

  • Abhijit Das

Gateway to Liverpool. Busy but lively station. Easy to follow and find trains. Spacious and good coffee options. Very well connected to Merseyrail and bus stations. Ticketing and barrier staffs are helpful. Agree with other reviewer, quite windy and cold.

  • G G

Mainline connections to all hubs in England and Wales. Fast connections to London, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle. There are a small number of retailers operating within the station with books, magazines, groceries, 'food to go', hot drinks etc.

  • Jon Barden

Great train station which isn't too large and as such is easy to navigate. It's in a central location in Liverpool and the staff are friendly enough. It's clean and has a decent number of food & drink outlets to use whilst waiting for your train.

Modern and well organised train station. Extremely friendly staff around the stations. Two staff from the mersey rail even helped is with our luggages down the stairs. And there’s lots of options in the station for food and drinks.
