We initially went into the station seeking information. The staff there were excellent. Lovely and friendly with lots of info for our requirements and much more on top regarding the local area. We returned the next day to top up our travel card with a day ticket and the lady who we had chatted to the day before remembered us both, asking where we went after we left the station. This time we were heading to New Brighton to revisit my old childhood memories from times when I visited relatives on the Wirral in the 1960s. We came back by bus. Handy little station with an amazingly deep line by the escalator for the green line to the Wirral. Very reminiscent of the movie American Werewolf in London!
I was extremely disappointed myself and wife went to Central station yesterday at 12.00 pm for the hunts Cross train i was abruptly told by a guy on the ticket machine go to moorfeilds to get a bus as the trains are off, myself and wife walked through town when arriving at moorfeilds Station I asked the girl on the ticket machine what time will the next bus be she said go stand at the bus stop I did inform her I'd already been to the bus stop it said no service , we ended up standing at that bus stop for over an hour no buses arrived we was absolutely freezing cold, the train staff need to sort their customer sevice and information out, We ended up getting a Taxi
Northern line and Wirral line trains stop at this underground station so it is possible to access all stations on the Merseyrail network from this location. There are two entrances one at Old Hall Street near the junction with Chapel Street and the other in Moorfields. Staff are always present at the ticket barriers and at other locations to offer direction and assist whenever necessary. They are friendly and willing to help. There is a ticket office and shop supplying snacks, drinks and magazines. Toilets are close to the Moorfields entrance. Lifts serve all levels.
Disembarked at this station yesterday (26/09/21) with a 2 and 3 year old both needing to use the toilet only to be told by the lady cleaning the toilets that all 4 of them were out of order because she had mopped the floor and we couldn’t use them. Surely common sense must prevail and only 1 or 2 be cleaned and when the floor dried then the other 2 be done. Good job I had spare clothes for a very upset 2 year old with wet pants
I have been forever traumatised by Moorfields Station due to my experience with chanting angry crowds and kids with knives at the very bottom floor (it was a year ago or so). The staff clearly don't get paid enough and it's confusing to navigate. Trains are infrequent, the space is claustrophobic and there is barely anywhere to sit. Feels like an air raid shelter, or the basement Snake Plissken goes into in Escape From New York.
If you're changing lines, it's easier to change here than at Central & is underground so drier than sandhills. Plenty of seat on the platforms and easy to get from Northern line to Wirral line. It's has step free access to platforms but there are no audible announcements about what the next train is so if you're visually impaired you might have to rely on other people for help.
A large underground station with 3 platforms. The station is easy to navigate and all platforms are for trains going the same direction. Step free access is available via lifts, however to use the Northern line you need to use 2 lifts. The escelators are long so some people prefer to take the lifts. To access the wirral line you need to go up an escalator then down 3.
This was a solid station to depart at, with a large underground area reminiscent of the London tube! The platforms are appropriately sized with efficient departure boards and navigation was easy, following the waterfront and way out signs. It was a very clean station and accessibility is boosted by the escalator, which felt amazing to go on!
The staff is helpful, and the facilities are generally pretty clean. A reliable and efficient option for commuting in the city with constant trains from the Wirral line to chester and the Northen Line. Several escalators are throughout the station, however there are also lifts.
A very well used, underground train station serving Merseyrail's Northern and Wirral line. Currently undergoing renovation work to update the dated 1970's furniture inside. Hopefully the station will soon be up to the same standard as Liverpool's other underground stations.
Busy station during office transit times. The usual small shops on site with a small office where you can purchase tickets. Staff are pleasant and helpful with any questions you may ask. Station is looking a little dated, however it serves it's purpose.
Bernie was so helpful and caring tonight ....my friend was unsteady on feet ...too many brandys ...i was on night out with her but was fine no alcohol ...i needed to get home as i take my chemo at 12 ...thank u so much for your care
It is always clean. There is alot of footfall through Moorfields Station but it lacks some soul. Ie some small outlets selling food, drink, convenience products. Needs a m to go on the old hall street side like southport.
The station has a nice layout although you need to travel on two lifts to reach the concourse if you are disabled. The station has access to food and drink as well as toilets, departure boards and ticket machines.
The place is easy to find, but close to the city centre, but its too expensive for 1hour and 5minute i iay £8 pound ,for one hour is £5 if you are a vit late than is much more ..a bit disappointed.
Fantastic service. Was with my cousin who is in a wheelchair and I couldn't praise the staff enough for there helpfulness. Thank you for making our day .
decent station although its probably the worst out of all the underground Liverpool stations. it is an Interchange for the wirral and the northen line
Handy station but don't as I did take the 10 flights of stairs out of the building # rookiemistake......I won't be doing that again! My bad.
Mersey rail station with a ticket office/shop. Station is staffed and has stair free access via 2 lifts. Helpful staff.
The day the lift isn’t out of service is the day the universe implodes. That aside it’s a decent station.
Friendly staffs. You can start or end your journey here if your train ticket says Liverpool Stations
It's ok, staff helpful, just a bit grubby ( station not the staff!) and cold but it is what it is.
They are working on the line so no trains til June in the circle, just a replacement bus service.
Very convenient station on the Merseyrail network, like the station improvements.
The manager Bob of the Moorfields station definitely need to change his job....
Staff are impolite and will try and start an argument for any reason.
Escalators are monstrous more so when you get pushed and nearly fall
Very busy station, especially during rush hour but nicely ventilated
It's a train station. Clean and tidy and trains on time. Great.b
Easy to mover around 2 main entrance 1 closed on weekends
Merseyrail need to do more to support their staff.
Good excess to trains and good direction signs
