I think this experience was a one-off because my boyfriend always has a great experience when he brings our pup. I took my dog this time for a quick nail trim and vaccination so that we could apply for City Bark membership. The receptionists (there were 4, maybe even 5) all seemed available when I walked in, but none greeted me. I greeted them, checked in, and was told where to wait. Although my dog usually has no fear or issues with vet visits, the last time my dog came here for his annual visit, my boyfriend said the (inexperienced?) tech had to make many "stabs" while drawing blood. So this time, as we waited, I watched my dog become increasingly stressed and tucking his tail in fear. A woman wearing a mask came out from the clinic to get us, and I told her my dog was really scared. She was quiet, not reassuring at all, and started to take the leash from me, so I asked, "Am I not coming back with him?" She said, "No." I was shocked and upset but sat back down as she dragged my terrified dog to the back. I could see partially where she had him stand on the scale but then they were out of sight for the next 10-15 minutes. I got angry as I waited but since it was a quick vaccine visit and not really a full-on appointment, I didn't push the issue or demand to be with my dog. They brought him back out after about 10 minutes. I again stood waiting at reception while the staff ignored me until someone from the back asked if I needed to check out. I frankly could have just walked out without paying, it seems. The charges were very affordable, and service was quick. Next visit, I will absolutely demand that I not be separated from my dog, especially if he's freaked out.

I adopted my baby in July 2023 from a local rescue. She was heartworm positive and required treament. The rescue uses Low Cost Animal Hospital if we want the services done for free. I wanted to use my own vet but unfortunately the reimbursement was little to none which left me trusting low cost to take care of my baby. Ivy's last treatment was on Tuesday Oct 3rd 2023. When i picked her up, her harness was broken. I was advised at every drop off to leave her harness on. When i brought it to their attention, they claimed she chewed it. It does not looked chewed, it was not wet as if she had chewed it. Where the harness sits, there is no way for her to have done it. It appears to have been cut with a dull knife. I sent an email requesting to talk to the manager, but no response. She still needs to be spayed but i will NOT be using low cost. What happened while she was in their care for them to have to cut her harness and then not tell me about it? How can i trust them to put my baby under anesthesia and cut her open when they cant even tell me what happened. I get things happen but don't try to pass it off for something that did not. I want to know what events occured that they had to cut it and would like to be reimbursed.

If you think you might be sacrificing quality of care for cheaper vet prices, that's absolutely not true with Low Cost Animal Medical Center. I went through about 4 vets before finding LCAMC: in the Garden District, Metairie, Mid-City, and Uptown. Most of them were good, but the cost was double or triple the prices at LCAMC. Their facilities are top of the line. The staff are extremely smart, kind, and considerate. The vetrinarians and surgeons are excellent and efficient; I have never seen better stitching on a pet after surgery. Low Cost Animal Medical Center will work with you to find every possible solution for your pet. If you live in Jefferson Parish, spay/neuter is about $15. If you live in Orleans Parish, it's still half the cost of any other vet at about $100. Bring a utility bill from Jefferson Parish to make sure you get the subsidized rate. This vet office truly loves animals, and they genuinely want to make a positive difference in the world. They are successful in that mission.

I am not one to leave negative reviews, but after our last appointment here it was pretty disturbing. I went to bring my kitten to get her last round of shots. We had an issue before with my kittens revolution medicine ( nothing was in the tube ) and informed the Dr of our concern, at the appointment we asked for another one but they said we would have to pay for it, I asked why pay for something when it was empty? Today, DR BROOMHALL gave my kitten her injections and WENT THROUGH MY KITTENS SKIN. Then says “you have thin skin” UMM NO DUH SHES A BABY!!! Needle went in and right out of her skin, then proceeds to get the medicine all on her neck and didn’t offer to wipe it or clean her up. My kitten had to get another needle that she originally didn’t need and went home with medicine all on her fur. We will not be coming back here and definitely don’t recommend. LOW COST MORE LIKE LOW QUALITY. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR HERE!!!

I loved them its just I rescued my Jody and called them to clip his nails and check rash. Ask over phone what do I need when I come. Lady says nothing just dog... that's what I did. This is my first experience so had no idea on cost. They took him in back then brought him back and says I owe 140.00. Wait what? I don't carry money and we should have discussed initial fees and what my cost may be. They took care of my new baby and I'm thankful. I couldn't afford total cost... sorry for that. Had I had a break down in prices I could have got what I could afford at time. Sorry for any inconvenience ...thankful for you

Had an amazing experience here. I have a 6 year old rescued German Shepard she has stranger danger around people she does not know And unfortunately is dog aggressive. This vet was wonderful and patient with her taking their time to do her visit so she can get used to them being around her. They even cleared the lobby for her to come in. The price was incredibly affordable. I appreciate how patient there were with us and they really did care about my puppy. The didn’t see her as aggressive like others do but we’re patient and understanding! We will be back with our other pets! I cannot thank them enough.

On my first visit here, I interacted with 6 different staff members, and I left with the absolute certainty that each and every last one of them is an angel disguised in scrubs. Thank you for the loving care and kindness your entire team demonstrated to the little black and white stray who visited you this afternoon. Your tenderness and commitment to your vocation was a profoundly moving thing to see. I'm sure it must be difficult not being able to save them all, but to those who find themselves in your care, it makes all the difference in the world, and the world is a better place for having you in it.

The clinic was clean and didn't smell bad. The entire staff is quick, friendly and welcoming. I did not wait long to be seen and once seen I was out within minutes. My dog, Harley was very happy to get a chew toy and lots of treats during her first visit. She loved the compliments and attention. They treated her with such care and love, she didn't even flinch when they gave her vaccines and did a stool sample. I will definately be going back for her future appointments.

Low Cost Animal Medical Center were great! When I brought my shih tzu in she was really matted but not her whole body. They treated hey with dignity and was very kind to her. Their service was wonderful, the staff was great and Dr. Bloomhall was the best. I would recommend Low Cost Medical Center to anyone. They take great care of the pets. The whole staff was wonderful. I'm very pleased with my baby's treatment. Thank you!

I dropped off cats for a rescue organization. They were having surgery. The intake was fast and efficient. The intake staff remembers your name and is always friendly, courteous, and engaging! The staff is amazing and they really love our pets. I adopted a rescue dog from Take Paws And Low Cost Animal Medical Clinic assists them with good prices (or at no cost) so that they can help out dogs that need medical treatment or heart worm treatment. I couldn’t have been more pleased or more surprised… God Bless then all for helping out the doggies that may not have a chance otherwise. ❤️

Low Cost is amazing! They have done such good work with my foster dogs (with Take Paws Rescue). They are caring, professional and experienced! My dogs have been spayed and neutered here, received medication for various ailments and behavioral issues and it is always done thoroughly and with kindness. Prices are the most affordable around! The staff personnel were friendly and accommodating. ¹ The doctor was professional yet helpful and kind. Stella received excellent care before, during, and after the examination process. Overall, the entire experience was pleasant for both Stlella and myself, and I can honestly say that we will now and into the future be under the care of the Low Cost Animal Medical Center.

One of the best and affordable vet clinics in the New Orleans area. I switched vets because I was tired of being haggled to buy medications from the vet for my dog. At Low Cost Animal Medical Center I did not feel the pressure to purchase anything I didn’t want to buy. The service is very friendly and quick if you make sure to book an appointment.

We brought our new baby Kobe in for his new puppy shots and the whole thing went so well! They really love what they do and took great care of our baby! Even cut his nails!! (Thanks for that !) Great vets and vet techs working here. The prices are unbeatable as well but 4 stars because the place is pretty gross at times. At my most recent appt. I asked the tech if the room is cleaned in between appointments and her response was, “They should be.” And continued with my dogs visit. Overall very friendly staff.

They are great. Very affordable. I took my cat there for his vaccinations and flea medication and the bill was much lower than I feared. My cat gets really stressed out at the vet, screams the whole time honestly, but they were very patient with him and got him calmed down. Low Cost is definitely high quality.

Wonderful place with amazing staff. I showed up a little bit before they opened and they let me wait inside because I didn't have a vehicle. They called to update me after my baby got out of surgery, and they even offered an earlier pick up. The vet tech were also extremely nice and informative.

The doctor and the nurses and all the people were wonderful it's the pricing it says low-cost it's a lie cuz I bring my dog to a different vet and it's a little bit cheaper to bring my dog to get his shots than it is to get my cats at that place that says low-cost I'll go to Manhattan veterinary

Management and staff lack training in accommodating disabilities. Instructions were inconsistent and unclear; practices are exclusive of individuals with accessibility needs. Poor treatment of Staff by management was observed when assistance was requested.

The staff and the doctors have been such a blessing here. My dog has a hemotoma and they have taken such good care of her it came back got infected and thwy worked with me so much. This place is a blessing and miracle this her before picture

I like this place because it’s low cost of course but they don’t remind you when your animal is sue for shots you’re kind of on your own so it’s up to you if saving money is worth risking missing your loved pets important shots.
